#DailyDevotion Complain To God. He Will Hear You.
Tumblr media
#DailyDevotion Complain To God. He Will Hear You. Psalm 64 Hear my voice, O God, when I complain. This psalm begins much like Psalm 61. He starts off asking God to hear him when he complains. I guess the difference between the complaints David brings to God and the grumbling the Israelites did about Moses and the LORD is that David is bringing the complaint to God Himself and isn't just grumbling about their situation. The Israelites then didn't believe the LORD cared or that He would do anything about it. David comes to the LORD because he believes God does care and God would do something about it. Do we just complain about things and grumble against the LORD or do we believe God truly cares for us and will do something about our situation? David asks the LORD to hear him. I think this is a good way to start a prayer. In the midst of trials and struggles, we want someone to listen to us. There is a proverb among us today, “No use in complaining, not like someone is going to do something about it anyway.” But we do want to complain to someone. We do want someone to do something about our situation. Most of the time our situations are beyond our control. Indeed, no human can do something about it. In giving us this psalm, with this verse, we are invited by the LORD our God to come to Him and complain. We are invited to believe that He will do something about it. We can trust He will do what is good and right, even if we disagree with Him on what that something is. Protect my life against an enemy who frightens me. 2Hide me from men secretly talking about doing evil, from the mob of wicked men. 3They sharpen their tongues like swords, and aim their bitter words like arrows 4to shoot at the innocent from their hiding places. They shoot suddenly, without fear. 5They encourage one another in some evil plan to lay snares secretly. They think: Who will see us? 6They search for wicked crimes: we have devised a well-laid plan! What is inside a man, in his mind, is deep. Here we have David's complaint. Aren't you glad you are not king? You may experience similar things though if you live in any sort of hierarchy and you are responsible for any number of people or someone fears you getting ahead may somehow keep them from getting ahead. David's enemies plot all the time against him. Men attack him with words. They work on removing David from power. They tell lies and work together to remove him from power. Jesus underwent this sort of trouble. Pilate could tell the Jewish leadership was jealous of Jesus. You may have people working against you where you work. Someone may want your job or prevent you from getting a leg up. Someone may want the person you want to date so they start a campaign against you amongst your fellows. People apparently think deep thoughts on how to take you out. The mind of man is truly sinful. God's mind is deeper still. Of course, we have the devil and all his minions working against us. They do not want us receiving our inheritance from God. They are our main enemy in life. They have fiery arrows pointed at our hearts, hoping to take advantage of our weaknesses. But when and if they do succeed in getting an arrow into us, we should turn (repent) to God and seek His mercy and kindness. He loves nothing more than being merciful, kind and forgiving towards us when we put our trust in Him. If it just seems too hard to be good, trust that Jesus and His good works are good enough. They in fact exceed the goodness we need to stand before God. So don't lose heart. Keep turning to God for Christ's sake. He doesn't tire of it. Bring your complaints to God trusting He will do what is good and right when the time comes and something needs to get done. Heavenly Father, look with mercy upon us frail men. Hear our complaints and do for us what is good and right according to the righteousness of Jesus Christ, Yous Son, our LORD. Lift up our hearts in faith towards You so we can endure the day. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Read the full article

“For I cried out to him for help, praising him as I spoke. If I had not confessed the sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But God did listen! He paid attention to my prayer. Praise God, who did not ignore my prayer or withdraw his unfailing love from me.” Psalm 66:17‭-‬20 (NLT)

To everyone who ‘are/will be’ left behind, this is for you to read:
How do you get over losing someone you loved so much? Especially when it’s forever? Will the worse days really get better with time? Can you really move on from the excruciating pain? Will the hurt really go away?
No, the answer is no- you’ll never get over losing that loved someone. Like how can you when that someone helped build your heart and filled it with his/her memories? You will just simply never get over losing that someone. It doesn’t work that way, mostly. But trust me, you’ll move on and you will be okay.
I know it’s a very long process- one that’s filled with agony and sorrow. And it will never be easy. You’ll mourn everyday. You’ll cry breathlessly. You will feel like dying too. And think that tomorrow’s not worth living anymore. But eventually, you’ll survive through it all. It may feel like the pain’s not gonna end but it will, it always will.
You just have to feel it all at once. And you have to cry it out. You may feel like losing all your air or drying out your eyes from too much tearing but you gotta weep harder. Every time that lost someone appears in your mind, don’t hold yourself back; shout, cry again, get mad- do everything you wanna do to ease the pain but never, never think of taking your life too because what about the people who are still around and loves you? Besides, suicide is never a solution to end the pain. It is just a maximizer to suffering. And you don’t want to hurt forever, right? So don’t.
It’s tiring but you have to go through the hard process. You can wish to totally erase that someone’s memories in your heart so the pain will immediately go away but you can just wish... because you’ll never be spared. There’s no exception to the kind of pain death brings to the bereaved. As long as you love and care, you’ll be in despair when they leave you forever.
We are humans and we are subjects to pain. And as the people around us will slowly fade away as we all grow up, it’s also inevitable that we’ll lose someone we love dearly- once, twice, thrice, always- in this lifetime. But it is also our nature to learn how to cope up and survive amidst all the loses.
There is no other way than the only way, which is the hardest. And yes, you might never get over the death of that someone you deeply loved but you’ll slowly forget... the pain, the memories- all of it will someday turn just- bittersweet. When you finally learn to accept that that someone is always and forever gone, you can set yourself free and start moving on.
Because that’s just how life is- live, love, laugh, hurt, mourn, cry, move on, die- it’s a repetitive process that always starts with living and ends with dying. And we must never question the deaths of our beloveds to God because who are we to ask when our lives are actually just borrowed from Him?
We must sink in to our minds that everyone’s bound to end. Even when we love and care so much for them, they’ll soon leave us when God decides they do as we’ll also leave them. What we can do everyday is to pray to Him, that our time with them- the people we love- be lengthened. And that He will prepare us when He’ll decide to take them away... or vice versa. It will not hurt less but at least it will not hurt abruptly and will not leave a sudden extreme pain that is never expected.
Always remember that if it hurts too much and you think you can’t handle it anymore, He is always gonna save you as long as you fully surrender yourself to Him and trust Him with all your heart. He will carry your baggage with you so it won’t be too heavy for you to walk yourself out of despair. There may be no easy way but there’s a comforting and positive one and it’s with God. Always with Him.

“Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.” Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
“God gives answers in 3 ways; He says YES and gives you what you want. He says NO and gives you something better. He says WAIT and gives you the BEST.”
Daily Devotional: “Answered Prayers”
Friend, when you pray, God hears you! He listens and He never forgets a single word of your prayers. He then goes about answering your prayers. God, being God (and also having infinite wisdom), works to His own timetable. But God always answers your prayers:
Sometimes immediately,
Sometimes after a looooong wait and
Sometimes with silence.
We all want option 1: immediate answer to prayer! But God, for the best of reasons, may keep you waiting. This can be because you've asked at the wrong time. (You may not know it's the wrong time, but God does.) If so, the answer will come at the right time.
And God will often give you time to think about what you've asked for. Let's face it, how often do we change our minds about what we want?! Needs change, circumstances change, moods change (we're human, it happens). So God gives you a “Are you really sure you want that?” pause, to give you a chance to realise that you may have asked for something you might have been better not asking for. It might be a short or a long pause, but God will never make you wait a moment longer than is necessary.
Silence from God is either a “not now” or a “no.” You should respect Gods “no”, because He knows what you don't yet know about your future and He knows what you are better off not having! Sometimes the BEST answer to a prayer is NOTHING! (I wonder if God says, “Child, you'll thank me later.”) As the Garth Brooks song goes, “Some of Gods greatest gifts are unanswered prayers!”
If it's just the silence of a delayed answer, trust God and be patient, because He always has excellent reasons for the delay. God is love, so you can know that His love for you underlies every decision He makes. And in the silence, God is always doing something. He's always working on your behalf.
Friend, God already knows what you need before you pray. You can trust that however God chooses to answer your prayers, it will always be for your good! 🙌
