Freshly hatched. still wet with mucus and whatever#Have you ever seen a butterfly fresh from the cocoon and their wings are all crumpled up?#so yeah their unevenness is intentional lol#I spent forever debating whether I wanted to put Peri there#but ultimately I thought it made the composition more interesting so I kept him#Also youll notice his wings are slightly different now I decided to redesign them to be a bit more galaxy like#its hard to see here but Ive changed the 3 dots to resemble planets in a row: Green for cosmo pink for Wanda and different pink for timmy#I think it came out a bit ugly in this but whatever Ive spend too long on this already#I wanted Devs wings to be reminiscent of gold. For some reason I really liked the idea of them curving inward too#Maybe to represent that hes selfcentered. Woagh it all points back to him Wough!!!!! anyway#Btw also sorry for no Nature AU content my motivation just kinda crashed. I have ideas still but getting around to drawing them is hard

Very excited to see how they'll do this scene in Rebirth
#this is by far my favorite of the gold saucer date scenes not only bc im biased towards aerith#but it feels the most narratively appropriately one#aerith brings up clouds (imitated) similarities to zack in a way only she can as someone who actually knew him#and she kinda starts poking after who cloud really is#most of the party hasnt know him long enough to notice how unnatural his mannerisms are#and most havent met zack and those who have did so only briefly#tifa knows but is too scared to say anything#she almost does in her own date scene (tho u wouldnt realize she was until The Reveal) but cant bring herself too#in the same way she ends up perpetuating clouds lies bc shes too scared to point out the discrepancies#hes vulnerable- she doesnt want to compromise that already fragile stability he has#aerith doesny poke too deep- she knows she cant. but its a start#anyway. excited to see clouds progressive mental breakdown in excruciating detail#cloud strife#aerith gainsborough#questionably claerith but this wasnt dranw with shipping intent#it could be tho. if u want it to#final fantasy#final fantasy 7#final fantasy vii#ff7#ffvii#art#my art#xanders art#digital art#fan art#oh wait#final fantasy 7 spoilers#in consideration for ppl going into rebirth blind

I'm very normal#my art#some of them have alt descriptions in case you're curious#yep Sierra at one point (she didn't have a name yet until months later) was a black brown and gold Mesa Prime and had “normal” human eyes#and it carried over once the base mesa design grew on me but it felt weird putting them on top of the bandana#given the original intent behind it#so I played around with it till it became the 3-eyed design it is rn#i'm torn between the bottom middle and bottom right#some of these drawings were definitely not included to show all the pictures in 3's :3#lotsa wips here#would you guys like me to post some of these older ones? even if I find them kinda crappy/incomplete#also ngl I should really vary my lighting setups more... apparently I use the same light beige bg a lot#imagine drawing chars consistently. cant be me#i'm happy to have drawn so much because of this rascal though#fun fact the “eyes” on her bandana are just external neuroptics#her real one is found underneath like umbra's sunder helm

Upgraded my Jack card into a little collage. It's no great shakes because I was in a rush and just grabbed some of the first available bits that jumped out at me rather than auditioning literally every single washi tape or sticker or paper scrap I own. But I need you to understand that I have a literal ROOM full of art supplies.
(And now that I'm staring at it, I wish I had added some gilding to the edges of the card.)

You know what's the funniest thing about arc 7-8 to me?
It's revealed that Vincent has never bedded a woman nor had children.
When the rumors of Vincent's illegitimate son spread, Chisha, Vincent's closest servant since their teenage years, who spent quite a lot of time with him, refuses to believe them, and acts defensive when Berstetz suggests that there may be things about Vincent that Chisha doesn't know. After all, Vincent always made sure to never even share a bedroom with a woman so that no one could create such rumors. There's no way Vincent could have had children without Chisha knowing.
Serena, who has unsuccessfully tried seducing Vincent before, explicitly mentions the possibility of his being gay to his face, even though she already knows the reason is something else. Vincent doesn't deny that (nor react to it in any way for that matter), by the way.
Only 3-4 chapters after that conversation with Serena happens, we're shown Chisha's backstory and motives. Surprise, what we thought was betrayal at first is actually part of a secret, elaborate plan to save Vincent from his prophesied death. They face each other "at a distance so close their eyelashes could touch" right before Chisha sacrifices himself while gazing one last time at his beloved liege with a "decadent smile" on his lips.
"Why?" Vincent asks the corpse more than once, well aware that it won't reply. This is Vincent, the man who'd rather keep his mouth shut if he has nothing useful to say. And what's more useless than directing a question to a corpse?
Later, Vincent, on the verge of a breakdown, asks Subaru, whom he suspects to be a Stargazer, why he let Chisha die instead of him. Vincent had accepted his death. But that's not what Chisha wanted. "He was angry that fate intended to kill you, and also angry at you for surrendering to fate." Now it's Vincent's turn to stand up to fate. That's what Chisha would've loved to see.
Then Tappei introduces an arranged marriage plot between Vincent and Medium to pretend he didn't just write the gayest thing in Re:Zero.

It's John!!! He has joined the standee army!!!
Comparing Mikoto to John, I think that I have gotten better at making these. It's less obvious in the pictures, but I made a lot of mistakes with Mikoto (specifically in the structure and the eyes look stylistically different to the others).
