So I'm writing a Pandemic AU and I'll show you what I have... I guess...
It's probably not so good, since I've never really read or watched any media about this topic.
TW: Death, suicide, many possible disease-related triggers, may cause anxiety if you are the faint of heart. (Like me.)
Pandemic AU
The disease purple flu is a virus, named so as it gives your skin an odd purple hue
Symptoms- Sweating Dizziness Decreased blood flow to the head Pneumonia Congestion Stroke Hemorrhage Fever Internal bleeding Organ failure Paranoia and insanity (partly because of the mental strain of having the disease)
It can be transmitted through sweat, blood, food, and mucus. Sumi got it by ingesting food with the virus on it.
Think about how the disease and the panic effects culture. -Prayers for the world to get better -People all over are writing songs and making art pieces depicting the situation -Quarantines -Mass suicide when it looks bleak -Media that comes out is meant to cheer people up and uplift them
Think about the shortage of hospitals and how rapid people are becoming sick and dying. Eventually, it's decided nothing can be done...
Bianca's last day before the pandemic news breaks out is a very lighthearted, memorable day of having fun with friends, the exact kind of day you get sad when it ends. This is to show how suddenly lives are being affected by the disaster.
Rhona is one of the scientists researching a cure, along with Zero, and Reisei, who is a doctor in training.
The disease doesn't infect animals and Bianca feels terrible about leaving Snowbell all alone in a world with no humans, but cannot bring herself to end the cat's life. In the end, Snowbell wanders all alone until her death, caused by thirst.
Some domestic animals linger around longer than others, but all eventually pass away due to the absence of humans.
Lulu has a little song to cheer her up, her version of "A Few Of My Favorite Things". Right before her life ends, a sad reprise plays. Terrified Lulu can't handle the circumstances, and waits for the disease to kill her in order to escape the hellish world filled with suffering.
Bianca, a germaphobe, can't handle medical stuff, and panics more than anyone else. She's the type of person to get stressed even when the common cold makes its way around her school. Only this time, it's going around the entire world and it's killing everyone in its path! How fun!
"This is it. This is the end. I'm going to die. I've decided to take it. I wonder though, what happens next?"
"Goodbye..."
People dying before being able to live their dreams.
"Little did I know that happy times would be over for those innocent kids playing on the street, the merry adults going on their way, those peaceful old folk, and everyone. Little did we know we had our final happy Christmas, and that starting when I got sick, the days were going to be winding down."
Lots of crying, fear, panic, and emotions. Even the most stoic characters end up breaking down into a sobbing mess.
SPOILERS: Everyone dies.
The cure is halfway complete, but all the scientists died before they could finish it.
SPOILERS: BUT, in the end, it is revealed that heaven does indeed exist and everyone is reunited and in a much better place. After all the horror they faced, they all became heroes in their own right.
Earth will be there, just the way it was left when everyone died. It will be this way for hundreds, thousands of years.
However, there might be alternate endings. There could be an ending where only half the population survives as well.
------
Story Progression- This is an AU that takes place solely on planet Earth. "It all started with a honey bun." The disease starts in Canada in January 2018 after Sumi eats a contaminated honey bun out of an old vending machine at a party. Sumi contaminates Ember and Reina. Ember contaminates Claudia. Reina flies down to Brazil to visit family and unintentionally brings the disease with her. Ember ends up contaminating Alaska when visiting her family back in Barrow. Claudia brings the disease to Belgium when she visits her grandparents.
Bianca, one healthy person in Maryland with sick people all around her, feels helpless...
Bells ringing signaling the world going into emergency
The final one to die...?
------
Sumi's POV
That night I first started randomly sweating buckets, I just didn't think much about it. I thought it was unusual, but maybe I was just overworked or coming down with something mild. I did just come back from a lively party where I did do a lot of dancing. I'm an introvert, so such things do tend to take a lot out of me. It was probably nothing. I was sure of it. I was so sure I would wake up the next morning and forget all about it.
I made sure I drank an extra cup of water that night, and went to sleep. Little did I know, I wasn't going to get better, and that this was the modest beginning of a dreadful nightmare.
It turned out, I was one of the first people to contact the fatal purple flu.
------
When I woke up the next morning, I felt sluggish and the first sensation I noticed were my soaked pajamas and bedsheets. It was as if my entire skin had sprung one big leak.
I had been sweating profusely all night long.
That's when I started to worry. But of course my mind didn't jump to a pandemic just yet.
"I wonder what's wrong..." I asked myself. I normally didn't sweat when I was sick, and even when I did, it wasn't without the congestion and fever. What could've been the cause of my sudden profuse sweating?
I took of my wet clothes, dried my embarrassingly wet body with a towel, took out my tablet and began to look on Google. I normally didn't look up my symptoms online, but this time I felt stumped.
Long story short, Google didn't help. I just moved out on my own, so I decided to call my parents. It was still quite early in the morning, but I'm sure they would understand.
"Hey, mom? Um... this will sound a little weird, but I started sweating a lot last night."
"What?" Came the voice on the other line. "Sweating?"
"Yes, I'm sweating a lot. And the next morning I woke up soaked."
"You're probably just coming down with something. Take it easy today." My mother said.
"Oh no, I can't..." I said, "I have a big exam in a few days..."
"I'm sorry about that, just do your best!" My mom said.
That's right. I was just coming down with something. I tried reminding myself. But I somehow just couldn't convince myself. This felt so different. For the first time, I thought that maybe it was serious. But I never would have imagined it was the start of a pandemic.
------
I was still sweating when I got to school. At this point, it was just embarrassing.
"Hey, Ember." I said when I passed by her on the campus.
"Sumi! What's up?" My friend responded.
Was I going to tell her? I decided to try, but it didn't quite go in depth.
"I didn't feel so good last night." I said. "In fact, I still don't feel good now." I said.
"Hm, yeah. You don't look too good. You're all red..."
"Yeah... well, actually I've really just been-"
But before I could say the word "sweating", Ember got a phone call.
"Oh, Sumi? I gotta go now. Claudia wanted me to meet her by the bridge."
"Oh. Alright." I said, "It's time for my class anyway." I said.
"You take care, I hope you feel better!" Ember waved to me. I waved back.
Little did I know, these normal days were basically about to end.
------
Art class started normally. I was a bit late, so I had to sit further in the back. Wiping sweat off my brow, I was hoping to live out my day normally. I chatted with a few other students and followed the professor's instructions.
But by the time we started drawing figures, I felt a little dizzy. I shrugged it off. But by the third or forth pang of dizziness, I realized it could've had something to do with my sweating. I bit my lip and decided if it continued, I would go to the nurse on campus.
The pangs returned, and right before I decided to raise my hand, the dizziness got intense. I felt sweat streaming from my pores...
"You look horrible, Sumi." The professor said. How nice of him to say. But I understood. I was so red I looked purple.
When I spoke, my speech was slurred, and by this time I was frightened.
I barely remembered the words my professor said when he dismissed me. I just remember myself rushing out of the room and forgetting my favorite pencil.
By the time I got to the nurse's office I could barely stand.
"Um... can I lay down?" I asked.
"Oh heavens, sure you can!" The nurse said. "I'm sorry you don't feel good."
I didn't know if I could drive home at this point. Not like this. I decided to call my mom, but during the middle of the conversation, my phone hit the ground, or so she tells me.
When I woke up, I didn't know what had happened, but I saw my friend Reina there...

YumiHisu Week - Day 2 - Historical
Sometimes it really sucked having the Art Teacher also be the History Teacher, but the school made it work and Teacher Hanji had all the enthusiasm and stamina in the world and here we are.
The assignment was a mix between subjects. “Historical”. What on earth was she supposed to do with that prompt? “Draw yourself/yourselves as Historical Figures or “helping” the Historical Figure. Write up their History and write a story of how your role would or could have altered their history.”
What the shit does that mean!?
Ymir was livid. She stared fiercely at the assignment in front of her. What kind of bull was this??? She cursed in her head, her mind drawing a blank immediately, but her ears perked up at Hanji concluding their lecture by stating students may partner up if they’d like. And all too quickly the freckled teen slid into the seat next to Historia, after Mikasa abandoned the seat to partner with either Eren or Armin or both, who cares? Ymir didn’t.
The blonde smiled fondly at her, graciously allowing this partnership to commence without a single word uttered. And then Ymir started thinking: Joan of Arc is a cool chick, right? Would that one work? A few others crossed her mind but nothing concrete stuck in any shape. Her hands were fisted on the desk as she slouched. The brunette felt a hand slide over the skin of her knuckles and she unclenched her hand to allow he other to hold hers firmly. A weak grin adorned her lips, and she knew that Historia had it under control.
They met up at Ymir’s place, sat in the living room on the floor with the tea table between them. Her mom was still at work and promised to pick up McDonald’s on the way home, so they’d have a solid 4 hours to themselves to break in this little project of theirs.
It was soon clear to her companion that Ymir was just not having it. At all. The rigorous sighing, the grunts of frustration, the making fart noises with her mouth and hands. Historia closed the laptop they had been surfing the web on.
“So you just don’t like this at all or just can’t think of anything?” Historia’s voice was calm and patient. Ymir gazed up from where she was lying her head on the table.
“All uh the above.” She stated, absolutely stressed with what she was meant to do with this project. She couldn’t and wouldn’t just leave it all to Historia, that wasn’t the point of partnering with her. She was hoping to get more idea’s to bounce off of the smaller girl, and even just thinking of drawing or writing Historia into history made her chuckle to herself a few times. But there was nothing.
“You’ve said no to all the ones given to us...” The blonde began, sky blue eyes looking to Ymir and then down to the provided papers.
“Because everyone else will do ‘em, and we’ll probably do better if we find some historic asshole ourselves.” Ymir deadpanned.
“...Yes, that is a good point.” Historia lamented. “But surely SOMETHING has to get a spark going? There’s so many people in history, it doesn’t even have to be someone who’s super famous.” She attempted to lighten the mood.
The freckled girl moaned. “That’s the whole problem. Too many damn people doing too many things.” She waved her hands around, no longer lying on the table, and accentuated her argument with another mouth-fart sound.
Historia looked concerned and was about to add something when Ymir interjected.
“And calling your sister and my mom and having them give their definitions of “Historical” AND googling didn’t do shit either.”
Historia closed her mouth, letting out a sigh.
Ymir knew she was being a bit bratty. Historia would have done fine on her own and probably would have had everything written out and something sketched up by now, but Ymir had to ruin it.
Then an idea struck.
Ymir shot up from her spot on the floor and practically sprinted upstairs before the small teen could even say “What’s wrong?”. Historia was answered when Ymir came back downstairs with crayons and blank paper and a cute smirk on her face. Those honey orbs lit up, and if it wasn’t plain enough, she simply stated, “Idea.” as she sat herself back down beside the other and placed her bounty on the wood in front of her.
Historia eyed her partner after the event, but was quiet, wanting to see just what Ymir had thought up. The girl in question had turned so she was facing the blonde and was quickly drawing something using the surface of a binder as her table, keeping it hidden from Historia’s prying eyes. After a few minutes of waiting, Ymir slid the paper over to Historia to investigate.
Tumblr media
The girl ended up with a cute sketch of herself as a knight and Ymir as a dragon. Ymir flailed her hands out again, tapping the picture with her knuckles every few words to further iterate her thinking process.
“So I was thinking, the best thing I could come up with was an AU world. And you’re this amazing knight and I’m your dragon and we kick ass together!!! Hanji never said it had to be THIS universes’ history!” She proclaimed proudly.
Historia looked at the paper beneath her fingers, and back to Ymir, who had so much life in her all of a sudden.
“And if that doesn’t sway Hanji,” She continued, “I can say ‘Guess what? Dragons and Princesses are Historical in the realm of science fiction, and we don’t even know 90% of the ocean yet, so who’s to say dragons didn’t exist in our universe in the first place, and a cute knight didn’t kick ass with her dragon girlfriend!?”
Ymir looked from the paper once her rant had come to a close, to view Historia, who gave her the sweetest smile she’s ever seen.
“I think we can make it work.” She put simply, her gaze somehow softening even more, and the brunette could swear she could see a golden light emanating from the small girl in front of her.
Sure enough, with Historia adding a very convincing version of the mind-vomit Ymir used to convince her, and writing one hell of a story and taking a few good days of work on the art component, the two ended up getting points for going outside the box, and got really high scores compared to their classmates.
Ymir was glad it was over, but also so happy for this prompt that she just couldn’t figure out at first, because she would never get that image of Historia looking at her so lovingly out of her mind, and it was definitely the greatest thing she’d ever seen.
Thank you, Historical prompt for such a blessed sight.

For the fanfictions thing: 6, 9, 10, 20, 31, 41 and 50 please (yes I'm curious 😇)
FANFICTION QUESTIONS
Just Bombarding me with questions, aren’t ya?
Fandom Questions
6. List your OTP from each fandom you’ve been involved in.?
Dear god.... Um let’s start from the beginning? Naruto: kaka sasu//Saso dei. Ze//lda: Sh//ink DBZ: Truhan - but with Mirai and present Trunks. Danny Phantom: Let’s just go with Vlad/Fenton parents, shall we? And of course for One Piece: Lawlu
9. What are the best things about your current fandom?
I COULD GO ON FOREVER ABOUT IT BUT I’LL STICK WITH THIS: It’s what a fandom SHOULD be. I don’t see too many wars. People don’t persecute another for liking a certain ship(s) or character(s). Or the way they write the character(s) or ship(s). That people don’t try and force their ideas or headcanons onto others or try and say their ideas are more canon than another. There isn’t all this comparison to see who is better. It’s just ‘you enjoy what you enjoy. If I like some of it sure, sweet stuff! If I don’t, no biggie, you continue enjoying it!’
10.  Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?
Bahaha. Yeah. A number of them. I tend to delve into the Tales of series (If I’ve completed the game) And sometimes older fandoms I’ve always enjoyed. (Ranma 1/2 // Inuyasha... Also enjoy Kyo Kara Maoh!) Most of the time as long as I won’t get spoiled forthe series and the concept interests me, I’ll read it, as long as I’m familiar with it :D
Ship Questions for your Current Fandom
20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?
Lawlu, honestly. Like, yeah I have my casual ships (Zolu, Zosan, Nami/Vivi) but they are more ‘sure, why not, it’s nice’ and the other ships that are ‘eh, okay, sure.’ that I can see happening. (Practically, most of the ships that don’t fall under my ‘notp’ section -- which is really just ‘stuff I don’t/won’t ship’ as opposed to an actual ‘notp’)
Mostly because I never really saw myself shipping Luffy with anybody. Like, sure, Zolu to me was ‘okay then, sure, I can see it. Interesting concepts. Artwork’s nice. No smut plz.’ but I’d never thought I’d actually SHIP somebody with Luffy. Like ever. Where I’d wanna write a bajillion ideas, or read more and more stuff. Or rant about ideas with friends and see all these pretty artworks and just get IMMERSED into it so wholly.
Author Questions
31. What’s the nicest thing someone has ever said about your writing?
I’m going to put a disclaimer on this: There’s probably nicer things, but due to ‘recent’ (Within the last year) occurrences this takes the cake.
People telling me how in character I am when I write. Due to old stuff that was a mixture of drama, wars, and RL issues, I really doubted how accurate I wrote my characters. I’m more or less over it, but when I started writing for this fandom, when I was told how good my writing is, and how in character the characters seemed? It just... lifted a weight off of my shoulders. It was like somebody shone the light on me and pulled me out? Because I just... I enjoy writing so much and to have it almost ripped away from me like that was hard. And to know that people enjoy my writing. That they want me to continue and that I do get the characterisations right was what got me going again. And honestly, I don’t think I’d be able to ever forget that. Eventually, I probably would have gotten here by myself - I like writing too much - but that help was just something else.
So thank all of you guys :3 If it weren’t for your comments and likes and just everything, I wouldn’t be where I am today.
Fanfiction Questions
41. List and link to 5 fanfics you are currently reading:
Oh dear me.
I am really enjoying Black Gold right now
And there’s always The Greatest Adventure (So amazing. And yes, I know I’ve linked it at least 5 times already but)
How to Snare a Life is also pretty good - one of the few AUs I actually read :D
And the other AU I read: Wrong Number
Annnnd while I’m not CURRENTLY reading it, this is the first thing I’m going to finish once I get back into the fandom: Congruent It’s an amazing Sh//ink fic.
50. How did you get into reading and/or writing fanfiction?
Okay folks. Get out the popcorn. Let’s see a black and white film about me getting into the fandom world. (Really though, it started like 13-14 years ago.)
I’m going to start out with a few years before I even got into being a fanboy: What got me into writing.
Tldr; version of it is, back in grade 5/6 I had some close online friends, and they convinced me to start writing poetry. I used it as an outlet for emotions and stuff. I was an angsty teenager. I was apparently ‘really good’ at it and so I continued. (PS: Also got published in grade 9 for a poem I wrote in grade 6 SNORTS)
Anyway, ended up losing contact with those friends over the years // broke up the friendship with one of them and eventually I just stopped writing poetry. Mostly because I didn’t have anybody to really show it to.
Now, I’m still just enjoying shows on TV, and gradually getting into watching anime online because of my older brother. It wasn’t until the end of grade nine that I became involved (reading/writing/drawing/etc.) in what is known as ‘the fandom’
Now I had a friend, and he was a big old nerd. Nerdier than I. The one who declined to hang out with friends because I wanted to game. We got along great, but soon, I fell. And I never got back up. Because, you see, he introduced me to all these ‘weird’ and ‘strange’ fandom things. At first, there wasn’t fandom things. At first we started making our own characters in their own world and oh look. Roleplaying.
But then these things called ships. and what’s that? Yaoi and Yuri? and What? People ship Naruto and Sasuke together? wth? And then, one day, I had decided to just (not a smart move at all, I must say) google search (Or Deviant Art search, I can’t remember) ‘Naruto Yaoi’ for shits and giggles, before I stumbled upon my First ship. And there was just no going back from there. Soon I began to look up everything on that ship: Drawing, and what’s this? People write stories about this? Holy shit. I need to check this out! Before one day, I decided to take my newfound writing skills of roleplaying my OCs into: Writing fanfiction.
Many different ships and fandoms later: Here I am. And yes, I still ship my first ship.
