"Fighting Game... Is something so Great!"
I've left two spots empty, which games are you adding and why?
All the big names are pretty much there, except Killer Instinct, Darkstalkers and, if you nasty, Fighting EX Layer, but I've barely touched DS and EX Layer and I've never had any console that KI was available on so I really don't have enough experience to talk about them. Smash is also missing because it's not a fighting game platform fighters are kind of their own separate sub genre than traditional fighting games and, again, is only available on systems that I don't own.
Anyhow, just go play fighting games. They're awesome.

Get the latest details below.
Game Overview
New mechanics
New characters
New story
Rollback netcode
Cross-play
And more!
Engaging New Features
New Online Lobby – The online lobby is expanding into an entire island! After playing a few rounds on match stations, take a break and experience all the fun attractions!
Minigames – Go head-to-head with other players in a variety of obstacle courses and survival games! It’s a topsy-turvy battle royale!
Q&A
-Q1: Will Anila and Siegfried be playable in the beta, and will they use typical special move inputs or charge inputs?
“Siegfried will be playable in this month’s online beta! Also, neither Siegfried nor Anila will use charge inputs.”
-Q2: It seems there are quite a few new mechanics that utilize the SBA gauge. How will the game be rebalanced to account for these changes? Will the Overdrive system use the SBA gauge or Bravery Points in Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising?
“Rush, Backshift, and Overdrive won’t be returning in Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising. Though we haven’t changed our philosophy of creating the definitive introduction to fighting games, we’ve revamped gameplay and created all new systems to explore. In a previous teaser we showcased an action that looked like Rush, but that was actually part of a prototype system. It was omitted during development and later reborn into Raging Chain—sorry for any confusion!”
-Q3: I noticed some fighting games have guest characters from other titles. How likely will we be seeing that in Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising?
As for guest characters, they asked the crowd specifically who they would like to see and are taking all possibilities into account.
Partners System
I LOST AGAIN?! BUT I WAS BETTER—GRAH!!11!!
Sound familiar? Partners are here to help ease your battle tension! Your favorite characters from Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising will cheer, support, and advise you through your most glorious of W’s and most bitter of L’s!
“I can’t stand losing in fighting games! It’s a lonely battle…”
Introducing “Partners”! Here to encourage, praise, and advise you!
Example:
Partner: “Your foe has you rattled. Take deep breaths, okay?”
Player: “My fighting spirit is renewed!”
New Playable Character: Nier (voiced by Jenny Yokobori in English, Noriko Shitaya in Japanese)
Nier can summon the primal beast Death to fight alongside her in battle. When Death is present, her skills can be input ahead of time to play out in sequence at the cost of Love’s Redemption.
Death will become temporarily unusable when out of Love’s Redemptions, but that won’t stop this pair from posing a formidable threat.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising is due out for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam in 2023. Read more about the game here, here, and here.

Gematsu Source
Publisher Cygames and developer Arc System Works have released the official gameplay trailer for recently announced Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising playable character Siegfried, as well as announced that the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 online beta test will now take place in mid-July.
Here is the full message from creative director Tetsuya Fukuhara on the updated online beta test scheduling:
Update on the Online Beta Release Schedule
Attention, skyfarers! Our team has worked through many of the stability issues that forced us to delay the Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising online beta. We are now preparing the beta client for launch.
The new release date is scheduled for mid-July. We realize that’s nearly two months later than originally planned, and you have our sincerest apologies. As for the release of the game itself, we’re still on track to meet our initial target. Concrete dates will be announced after beta testing concludes.
Last but not least, as promised in the new Siegfried trailer dropped today, the third addition to the Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising roster will be revealed in early July. That announcement will be followed by a spate of others detailing new mechanics, game modes, and more. Be sure to stay tuned!
