SNG by Treflyn Lloyd-Roberts Via Flickr: A wisp of steam escapes from the chimney of "Sir Nigel Gresley" as it coasts down the hill from Earley towards Reading. It was leading a London Victoria to Bath Spa "Cathedrals Express" charter for Steam Dreams, with 47815/D1935 on the rear. Locomotive: LNER A4 Class Pacific 4-6-2 4498 "Sir Nigel Gresley". Location: Church Road, Earley, Berkshire.

Edward Thompson may not have been the evil schemer that he's portrayed as, but goddamn did the man make some ugly ass Pacifics, that didn't even work very well. The good parts of the Pacifics were all due to Gresley (the A4 boiler used on the A1/1 or the P2 boiler on the A2/2) or the fact they actually maintained the things while letting Gresley's designs fail (this I don't blame on Thompson). He could make some mixed traffic designs though, although without any of the beauty before or after him.

I love this family so much, they are all so cool and I adore them all! Especially since these diverse characters are all related! Since I haven’t connected to half of these characters I won’t leave headcanons this time but maybe in the future once I get to know them more. Just enjoy the art for now ^^
