2024 Anniversary hell event announcement…Certainly unexpected because this is the brand new one CN got in February.

Event Format: Weighted Nodes with player advantage, a twist on MoVo’s. Pick between Chant / Prayers at first to improve drop rates for that suit when you pull. You gain currency when pulling—and once you get enough currency you can go for the next suit. After you get the first two, you will then pick between Afternoon / Wisdom.

I couldn't resist the challenge of deciphering this grand lady's signal flags—but she's from 1878, and those aren't Marryat's flags! Or the modern International Code of Signals, either.

Wikipedia has a handy chart of Commercial Code Flags 1857–1900 and that allowed me to read: PHFR [end message in international code]. Red Ensign indicating a British merchant ship.

I couldn't find PHFR in International Signal Code books, not even an 1878 edition, but I suspected it would be the ship's name, as is usually the case for a ship painted with Marryat's flags. Here she is on a Mercantile Navy List, still sailing in 1919! PHFR – Guiding Star of Padstow, on the north coast of Cornwall, built 1875.

Although the auction site incorrectly gives her name as "Guiding Light," her correct name is at the bottom edge of the painting.

Tips for Guiding Star: Explains the format of the event!

Battle pass: Basically, there is a free and paid tier for rewards. As you pull in the event, you’ll get the avatar frame, background, profile picture, etc at certain tiers. Spend $2.99 USD to unlock a special tier, where you get pieces of the suit as you pull. So it’s recharge but you also have to spend diamonds to get it.

Free background: The ‘Desert Mirage’ background will be given for free after reading through the event story.

New Wish Court: ‘Cozy Inn’ will debut after the update. Draw in the court to receive furniture; complete the pavilion set to get a chibi.

(okay this is where they would announce diamond postcards but they haven’t?? Hope there is another post coming with anniversary stuff because this is the biggest nothing burger I’ve ever eaten)

I’m interested in that AU

Well basically the Astrals decided that Lunar was too much of a risk alive and, despite Gemini's protests, killed him. But, because of star power and the fact that no one in the family can stay dead, he came back as a full Astral. Polaris, the Guiding Star.

He isn't quite like the others as he is in more connection to actual space, like he just fades into it rather than standing amongst it. He doesn't remember much but he remembers two things: He likes Gemini and the faces of his family.

He doesn't remember where his family is however, and spends most of his time searching for them, in the process finding things the Astrals would like to be alerted about, leading to his nickname 'the Guiding Star'

Gemini can tell that he's Lunar but since he doesn't have any memory of being Lunar they can't do much about it and they don't want to bring it to the attention of the other Astrals because they fear they'd try to kill him again.

Lunar doesn't talk much, only speaking to Gemini and later his family in one word answers. He doesn't like the angrier Astrals, particularly Taurus for fairly obvious reasons. Its a toss up whether he'll respond to Lunar or Polaris on any given day but he'll respond to Gemini no matter what they call him. He, still being petty af, will not respond to the Astrals who were most vocal about wanting him dead.

This is the Rainworld rp blog for my iterator and slugcat OCs

Guiding Star (GS): A very kind and understanding iterator. Despite Abandoning finding a solution to The Great Problem she keeps busy with studying the marine life and interacting with visitors.

Bleeding Night (BN): While she may be the group senior she is most certainly not the most rational or patient. Currently located 48,453 feet below the surface as a result of structural failure.

The Typhoon: A (probably genetically modified) slugcat. It possesses an abnormally long, thin, and finned tail for a slugcat, allowing it to swim remarkably fast underwater. At a glance its skin may appear glossy and smooth however any closer look will reveal it is covered in hundreds of small, hardened scales which it uses to help travel during the rain. However these adaptations are not without downsides, as The Typhoon will quickly dehydrate when out of water. Serves as a messenger for the local group and has claimed GS as it's owner.
