Zion Spangler for @riverofjazzsims' A Holiday to Die For!

Hi! My, uh, my name's Zion Spangler, and my coworkers encouraged me to audition for this Holiday to Die For, as ominous as that sounds. They reminded me it can't be much worse than what I deal with at my day job, and I'm 27. Am I in my mid-20s or my late-20s? I don't know what, but I'm starting to feel like I've been holding myself back a bit from finding the right person to share my life with.

I'm not a big dater - I'm married to my job as one of Brindleton PD's finest detectives, and when I clock out, I usually drive a bit out of town to dance all night in the club. I love a bangin' DJ, and maybe I've banged a few DJs in my time! (looks offscreen) Should we cut that? I mean, it's not like I do it all the time. Sure, I've got kinks and I'm bringing my Sasquatch suit just in case, but I'm not that guy, you know? I like to be respectful.

I'm sorry. There were free drinks in the waiting room and I haven't let loose lately. I'm so rusty. Ask me anything, I dare you! Okay, I'll tell you: I grew up with Mormons and have dreams about living as a spellcaster sometimes. I don't know where they come from, but life can get stressful and in those dreams I get to fly, so I like having them.

We just put this really big case to bed involving a cartel and a body in the Bay, so I really could use a vacation. My coworkers think it's cute that I'm the only single detective on the force and try to set me up any time we go to the Salty Paw after work. But the girls and guys in Brindleton Bay aren't really my scene, and I'm kind of excited to dance the night away with Winter.

What is there to know about me? Well like I said, I'm a detective, married to my job, I'm unflirty, cheerful, and a dance machine. I have level 5 skill in dancing, level 4 fitness, and level 4 logic. I'm bi sometimes, but I don't really put labels on it. You just lock eyes on the dance floor and you don't even need to flirt. You just know.

Biography

Meet Wade, an animal-lover who's in his first year as a full-fledged veterinarian! He comes from a large and busy family; Wade is the 3rd of 5 children from 2 parents, a father and a non-binary parent. The oldest of the 5 kids, Wade's older brother Caspian, also has a family of his own now, so in total there are 9 members in Wade's family! (Caspian has a wife and an infant daughter) Wade is also the older brother of Isla Vinca, who is currently competing in another BC challenge! Wade grew up as a sweet and happy-go-lucky kid, but the chaos of growing up in a big family has resulted in Wade preferring the company of animals over people. He loves any and all animals; he doesn't have a favorite! Environmentally-conscious thanks in part to his Sulani upbringing, Wade decided early in life he wanted to help animals in need, and so he became a veterinarian! He's only treating dogs and cats for now, but he hopes to expand his care to horses and wild animals in the future so he can help all animals survive and thrive! Wade was partially inspired by his little sister Isla to compete in a BC for himself, but he also wants to learn how to socialize with people outside of his family (and experience cold weather for once!) He knows he'll be shy at first, but he hopes to overcome that. Who knows what will happen? Wade is part of generation 9 of my Vinca legacy. Family tree here if you’re curious!

I genuinely think I'll never be the same after playing Hunt Down The Freeman. there is so much gold in it, in this sea of trash dumpster fire that hurt me physically to play.

there is just something mesmerizing to me about the story - Mitch impulsively agrees to a deal with the devil, spends 20 years doing fuck all and just chilling and when his outburst comes to bite him in the ass he is absolutely NOT fucking with it but at this point he has to. man reaping man sowing etc

"we're going to borealis" bothers the fuck out of me still because man. just leave Mitch alone. man has been Through It. he's tired as fuck and his face is fucked up and everyone makes fun of him.

all this and also I had like. a spiritual experience playing it. the enemy placement and level design are such trash to go through that by the time I hit black mesa east I was right there with Mitch projecting my shit onto him, pushing through, no matter what, and at the final standoff I really gave it my all. I will live despite everything. fuck you.

As the first China International Consumer Products Expo (“CICPE” or “Hainan Expo”) kicks off in Hainan, Sanya, located on the southern tip of Hainan Island, also one of the most popular destinations in China, is making a splash as attendees from various provinces and cities flock to the island. The Sanya Tourism Promotion Board has readied itself to introduce a reinvigorated New Sanya backed by the Hainan Free Trade Port construction plan.

Sanya Boosts Tourism and Consumption as First China International Consumer Products Expo Held in Hainan

Taking place in Haikou between May 7 and 10, the Hainan Expo plays a pivotal role in the development of Hainan Island as an international tourism and consumption center and establishes a platform for the promotion and trade of international consumer products. With a number of innovative mechanisms to enrich the environment for tourism and consumption, Sanya has shown its commitment to turning the city into a destination of both tropical island vacations and duty-free shopping.

Since China’s first duty-free store landed in Sanya on April 20, 2011, Sanya has contributed about 77% of the province’s off-island duty-free sales in the past decade (as of the first quarter of 2021). In the middle of last year, the island province introduced a new tax-free policy that increased the quota to RMB 100,000 and diversified the types of tax-free products on offer, which has set off a boom in duty-free shopping in Sanya.

In a bid to cultivate tourism by meeting the needs of more business and leisure travelers, Sanya has quadrupled its duty-free shops from one to four with the opening of Hainan Tourism Duty Free Shopping Complex (“HTDF Shopping Mall”), CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza (“CNSC Mall”) as well as Sanya Phoenix International Airport duty-free store, and doubled its operating entities. With the generous duty-free shopping quota and a plethora of choices for consumers, the city is diversifying its duty-free business.

The Sanya Tourism Promotion Board is reimagining the city as a travel hotspot with new activities and themes designed to appeal to different tourism segments. The board has launched “Wonderland Sanya”, a campaign that seeks to attract young travelers to explore Sanya’s unique and vibrant possibilities across the five areas of food, travel photography, culture, outdoor activities and luxury hospitality. Also, the board recently partnered with Tencent’s Game for Peace to host a themed carnival, making the city’s Haitang Bay a new landmark of e-sports culture with a “cultural tourism + video game” crossover approach.

Sanya has also introduced a host of innovative mechanisms to promote the construction of an international tourism and consumption center. Leveraging the growing popularity of yachting, a yacht timeshare model has been introduced to make the aspirational pastime accessible and appealing to a broader range of tourists. It has also launched a series of reforms to support the development of the cruise yacht industry.

The coastal city has actively invested in a number of large-scale tourism projects. It has already opened the doors to the wildly successful Atlantis Sanya and Haichang Fantasy Town and inked an agreement to open a Hello Kitty Theme Park Resort in 2024. This continued investment has also attracted global tourism giants to settle in Sanya, with Caissa Holiday and Thomas Cook establishing their headquarters in the city.
