What other fears do they have? In a general sense, Mar is afraid of not being good enough. Not being strong enough to protect her loved ones, not being able to do what needs to be done, not beeing able to work etc. This is very much caused by the strict military philosophy she grew up under. She knows how her life should go and what rules to follow to reach that goal she is after (in her case a piece of land and the right to officially marry, join a village community where shes seen as equal with a voice in the Ting, beeing a part of a community and not beeing a outsider, maybe even adopt children and have with her piece of land enough money to give them a childhood without worries),so she is terrified by the possibility that one mistake could make her nolonger live up to the rules she has to follow and with that never be able to reach her goal. Mar puts herself to a very strict standart, because anything else means failure and failure means no chance at the future she so much hopes to have.Following the rules and fitting the standart is her chance to have that future and she is not risking that.

Why do they have these fears? Are these fears innate, trauma-based, or generational? Mars fears are definitive trauma based: Her expierence with the mad dog aside, Mar had grown up hearing the muttered sentences "should have been drowned in the vikken at birth" at every little mistake she made. What was a throw away line or a loose threat to make a child obdient by the older mercenarys around her turned into Mars curse, because she started to fear it as an actual punishment if she ever misstepped. She is an adult now and a muttered line over a young child misbehaving (or juast asking questions or just beeing a tired child) is something she had seen through as just that: a sentences. She is still not able to swimm and will do her very best to avoid deep waters, because with her not beeing able to swimm drowning has turned into a possibility that can become actually a truth for her.

Have they ever tried to work through or confront these fears? How did it go? Mar would rather get her spear and run it through herself wholly from her backsid and out of her mouth, before she would ever even think of confronting that fear of dogs. She can be around dogs without panicking, that is enough for her. Even if she would never feel comfortable around dogs or wolfs, let alone ever feel save. It is the same for any other of her fears, she can go through her day and function and that is enough. To confront a fear, one first has to think about it and Mar does not want to think about any of her fears, because it makes her feel useless that she has those fears and beeing useless means that she has no right to be there in the first place and if she has noright to be there in the first palce she ´should have been drowned in the vikken at birth'. If Mar would confront her fears and with that admit that she has them, she would give into her greatest fear of beeing useless and with that not the warrior she is meant to be, which is in the strict military philosophy she grew up and lives under , very much a death sentences.

• has had minor surgery — Stitches. All verses he has gotten stitches at least once. At least. He has ... definitely one but maybe two? verses where he has had major surgery (D:BH and modern.)

• has broken a bone — A few! I have my 'he climbs' headcanon, so he's definitely broken fingers here and there. His nose, at least once (which I guess is not technically a bone, but it's in the spirit of things.) His right forearm, once (compounded with a shoulder injury, which was more muscle damage but. All in all just a really bad incident.) And I think he's at least fractured a few ribs, if not completely broken them.

• gets headaches easily — Maybe not... easily? But he's prone. Familiar with them, anyway, for different reasons in different verses but also just in general. Maybe it's all the should-have-been-a-concussion's, maybe Turners aren't so immune to head trauma after all, I don't know.

• has anxiety — There's a definite lean for it that exists, mostly separation anxiety. I don't think it plagues him in a daily capacity, and honestly there are some things he could probably stand to be more cautious about, but I do think he's specifically touchy about the matter of his loved ones being parted from him. It doesn't take a lot to make him worry about his people. It doesn't..take anything, really. If they're out of his immediate reach, he's at least a little bit worried they won't be able to get back. He's got a few tools for dealing with it and generally keeps handle unless there's a lot of pressure on it, but it's still a thing that's There you know?

• pushes themself when sick — For one thing he just doesn't get sick very often, he's a resilient type, so he's definitely likely to try and ignore (or just more likely he'll miss the signs of) things at first. He generally writes things off until he's gone from 'feel a little off' to 'miserable and suffering'. So, if it never gets that bad, he's not likely to act 'sick' at all. It'll be just a rough couple days, not "got sick."

• is a poor patient — When he feels half bad but not awful and someone tries to get him to rest and etc. he is... very unlikely to follow this instruction. As well, he just struggles in general with accepting acts of service + hates when people try to assume authority/control. If he really truly feels very bad and/or sought out the help he will follow instructions to feel better, but. You know. Levels. Nuance. You'll have to fight with him at least a little bit, probably, but there are also ways he'll Try.

• hates medical settings — Well, sort of? It's not that he has medical anxiety or a particular grudge against infirmaries or hospitals, etc., it's that he broadly associates them with boredom and a certain level of (annoying but not (typically) threatening) loss of autonomy. So it's not that he hates the setting itself he just dislikes when he's bound to them. He generally has no problems paying visits to others or passing through for a checkup.

Circumstantially; in verses that engage with his sixth sense, his mild aversion to medical settings also has to do with the way these places are unavoidably shadowed by death. When you're a person who can feel and Notice the places death touches your world, hospitals tend to sit a little funny. (Like a knot in the chest.)

ORIGINAL CHARACTER QUESTIONS& HEADCANONS: * collection #1

In all honesty I do not think that Ziv is especially unique? Jedi-Child send away to the AgriCorps and beeing especially angry about it, is the plot of the youthnovellas about ObiWan Kenobi and Quigon Jinn. Jedi child with anger issues had been done in starwars before my own brith, so eh. AgriCorps Member beeing the Warden of a Murakami Orchid is the Plot of "Red Harvest". So the concepts that make Ziv "Ziv" are concepts that had already been written about for over ten years. My OC is not especially unique. The only thing that might make her stand out a little is her beeing a Non-Humanoid Alien and even than she is a anthromorphic Alien with an upright standing, four limbs, a humanoid amount of eyes, ears and mouths, and hands and feet that are used as hands and feet. So her beeing a non-human does not stretch the "nonhuman" part especially far.

It does not change the fact that I enjoy writing her and her horrible foul mouth. Its hilrious to come up with her speakingpattern and I also always write her dialogueparts first before writing the rest. Which makes her unique in contrast to the Oc I had written before on @ halforc-mercenary, because that was a very quiet person and most of her screaming social anxiety happned in a inner monologue while Zivs thoughts and wandering ideas do not happen on the inside but always on the outside for everyone to hear.

Lark isn't the clingy type but rather the opposite. He is affectionate but he rarely spends all his time with lovers in the past. This has to do with the fact he is always on the move or has something that needs doing. Relationships being something that often gets put on the back burner whether he means to or not. He does try though if he cares about the person but his past relationships are proof this doesn't always work.

It is also why he states to be monogamous but at the same time not caring much whether his partners are mono or poly. He can barely focus on one.

♦️Personality headcanon♦️

He borders on the line of being eccentric. Whether this being in what he says or how he acts. He tends to be excitable when talking of passions or even desires. Rambling to others or even himself is something he is prone to. Laughing at inappropriate times, asking or saying things that one wouldn't normally blurt out. The list goes on.

His behaviour in general can sometimes just be considered odd and it becomes apparent the more one interacts with him.

♣️Dark headcanon♣️

Lark takes pride in his work and this especially includes his mercenary work. He doesn't slack if the pay is good and is nothing short of ruthless depending on the job. Although, he does tend to stray away from physical torture as he finds psychological mind play to be a much better method in getting something done while still tormenting a poor soul if it is required.

This being said, his carrion bird-esque mask plays an important role in such things. He enjoys the fact he is usually seen as something of a bad omen because of the metal facial piece. An intimidated, fearful target is an easily dispatched target in his books.

♠️Sex headcanon♠️

For those who actually get close enough to bed him, they may notice his masochist tendencies. Having a ridiculously high pain tolerance tends to do that to him. It depends entirely on the company though and is only lightly there most of the time. Again it differs with everything like most things involving this topic for him.

Headcanon: Whenever Mar visits the stables to look after thePony and Come-here, she brings a few mice for Himmel. This might be a bribe so the Gryphon would like her or its just a cheap way to get rid of the Mice caught in the mousetraps around the stables.

Accepted, but noted that Himmel would like Mar more if she brought her something more substantial. Griffons are very large beasts after all, and I headcanon that they’re very fond of livestock meat and venison, since they’re a combination of two apex predators.

Talk about Marek and Torvald’s and Adelynne’s relationship to eachother! How far are tehy apprt in years? what do they want from life and in which ways are they similar in this and wher enot? also how is their relationship to their parents?=

OKAY SO, ANYHOW.

Torvald is the eldest of the 3, a beast with a soft heart. He is 4 years older than Marek, the troubled middle child who is, in turn, 4 years older than Adelynne ;; The daisy in springtime.

As far as their relationships with one another go, Torvald and Adelynne have grown to be close as adults. However, as children, none of them spent much time together. This was when they were developing their own skills and, for the most part, moving around with their mother whilst their father was at war. Torvald took solace and comfort in finding friends his own age, Marek was a generally ( though jealous ) loner and Adelynne was ‘the infant with a gift’. Going foreword, it is not likely that Marek will be able to rekindle his relationship with his siblings because of the fate I have in mind for him.

Relationships with parents is its own matter. Their mother, Ashlin, loves all of her children ( as any good mother does ), but she was much quicker to accept that Marek had run away from home and that he would never return. Their father, Roderic, as a strong military type, was still very soft and kind and he very much adored his children. However, when it came to their futures, Torvald being the oldest, he took a great deal of interest in his skill as a warrior and, in turn, seemed to have left Marek and Adelynne to the care of their mother. This was not an intentional thing, but it did leave him regretting his decision to be so attentive to Torvald for all those years. He took the thought to his grave that it was his fault their son had run away and he never did live to see Marek return to the Alliance.

Torvald wants a simple thing, he just wants peace. He wants peace and a restful life where he can feel safe having a family or feeling there is no more immediate risk to the life of his friends and his remaining family. Marek did not know himself well enough to decide on what HE truly wanted. He was trapped and manipulated into this twisted organization that took his mind and made it their own. By the time of his death, all he wanted was release from the things he’d done and the decisions he had made that led to his own downfall. Adelynne wants a very similar thing to Torvald, but she has aspirations of, one day, opening up her own orphanage and child care center where she can be the caring, loving, gentle, soul that she is so proud to be.

Read Palms: Mar is not able to read palms, but she very much is able to throw and read the runes for another person to make assumptions about their character and eventually make prophecys for them. Naturally the part about making assumptions about a persons personality and past through runes is nothing but guessing and watching the other persons reaction to it or just beeing so vague in the things said that the other person interprets those words as fitting for them. For Mar throwing Runes is a tool for makign decisions, she knows what she wants to do but throwing runes and interpreting the result in the favour of her decision is helping her be more secure in her decisions. Obviously for someone who so easily gets anxiety ridden, this methode helps her going through her life securely.

By Themself: Since Ziv a suprisingly strong person considering her cute, fluffy looks and the fact that its often overlooked that she has a  properly trained musculatur, she usually goes for oriental bellydancing when she is indulging in music. After all, the Tynnan has focused her lightsaber training mostly in Form two-Makashi- so the fluid movements, precise steps, turns and spins without big wide movements is something that is also found in belly dancing and therefor easily for her to preform due to years of training. On a similar note: Yes if one would bind bells to Zivs ankles,she would be able to dance or preform Makashi without letting them ring- She has the natural toebeans of a killer and it has its perks to be a sneaky carnivore with a perfect mindshield and martial arts training on the dancefloor or when it comes to tail people. 

With a Partner: In general Ziv does not like to dance with a partner since it usually includes the problem of a very stark heightdifference. That does not mean that she does not enjoy dancing with a partner, but when she is barely reaching to a partners chest it is often a little awkward to find a rhytmn to share. If she is in a funny mood and tries to drag a partner out of their shell she will lead them to a dancefloor, drop a few horrible stupid jokes and hopp or swirl around a little holding their hands to make them laugh. Then she would let go of their hands and dance on her own around them. If a partner insists on dancing closer with her Ziv will carefully step on their feet with her hindpaws, lean against their upper body, hold their hands and sway around with them a little to music. Then she would just drop a horrible stupid joke to spoil the romantic mood.

In a Group: The only time Ziv had danced in a group was with her clan when they had trained a Kata in preperation to wielding a Lightsaber. Occaisonally the Tynnan takes the movements she had preformed that time into the Kata when she is preforming Alchaka, yet it does not feel the same when she is doing that only on her own. It would bring her to the brink of exhaustion as planned, and she is able to push on after that as she had been able when she had been preforming with her youngling Clan, encouraged by eachother to go past their limits . However, Ziv thinks that if one is able to easily make a salto in the air out of the still stand, then one should actually swagger about it a little. Just a little. As a Treat, even when its only happening during personal Alchaka-meditation when noone else is around.

WHAT YOUR CHARACTER WILL NOTICE ABOUT MINE !

What they look like: Most remarkable Mar is a short woman (5'3"=160cm), who would not be especially noticeable and in fact would perfectly fit into a "average height"-category, if that shortness would not stand in stark contast to her orcish looks. She has a muscular build, yet as she was trained on strenght and agility and not aesthetic, Mar has a proper layer of fat over her muscles which gives her a chubby appearance with a more rounder face, a chubby stomach, large breasts, wide hips and heavy thighs. Mar looks more orcish than human with her dark green blackish skin , her dark red eyes, her big pointy ears, her bushy eyebrows and her very thick and heavy tusks that are a little too big for a female orc. Yet her prominent, long nose and her red, thick curls are the only features she had gotten from her human side of the family. She keeps her hair very long and usually braids them in two thick, heavy braids. As someone trained as a soldier since childhood, Mar has suprisingly little facial scars thanks to a proper usage of armor, although her nose had been broken a few times causing a thick scar over the bridge of her nose and her left eyebrow is split by a long scar reaching up to her hairline. Other scars are usually well hidden under Mars layered clothes. Mars skin is of a deep green, almost blackish tune. She is heavily freckled on her face, ears and limbs and those freckles look dark like inkstains against her skin. On her limbs, usually surrounding old scars are tattooed small dots and lines. The therapeutic tattoos, especially the small lines running down her spine to her left leg, are suppose to ease pain (especially her backpain).

What they smell like: The halforc smells of lavender, fresh sweat, campfire smoke and hard -soap. Mar tries to be at any moment as presentable as possible, so she puts dried lavenderflowers in her fascia- pectoralis under her clothes to smell good and washes herself keenly every morning and evening. In the morning she uses lavenderoil as a face cream, so the scent usually sticks to her neck and shoulders. Her breath usually smells faintly of applevinegar she uses for brushing her teeth and the spices from the strong black tea with milk she drinks to every meal.

What they taste like: In the seldom, very seldom moments one would actually get a kiss from Mar that would not be a neutral respectful kiss on the hand or a more caring kiss on the forehead or hairline (Mar does not trust the sharpness of her tusks and when she cares enough about a person to want to kiss them in a loving or neutral/respectful manner, she does not want to left their face in a bloody mess) , she tastes off the applevinegar she uses as a mouthwash and the arak -tree- roots she chews on/ uses as a toothbrush. Occaisonally, if Mar has a bad day and her headaches are acting up, she will taste horribly of cloves as she chews on them to sooth the pain going into her skull from her deformed human jaws with orcish teeth. Mar uses lavendaroil as a lotion every morning, so her skin would usually taste soapy after that oinment beneath the taste of fresh sweat.

What they sound like: Mar has a lower, womanly voice that could be sweet to the ears and melodic, if it would not be for the Halforcs brisk and harsh manner of speaking. She does not enjoy conversations with people she does not know, so the Halforc usually tries to keep those as short as possible by beeing especially clear and strict in her words. She usually speaks with her face downturned and when she is not speaking to superiors she usually holds a hand to the side of her face to hide her tusks. This would make her mutter, if she would not try to speak always loud and clear. However, when she is especially tiered or comfortable wth a person, she will not try to speak as loud and clear as usually and often starts to mutter and mumble. This also happens when Mar is flustered and does not manage to escape the uncomfortable situation and those are usually the moments when she would cover her mouth with her hands and say nothing at all.

What they feel like: If one would hug Mar, one would be better off and a lot of more comfortable hugging a lamppost. The Halforc is not especially fond of beeing touched and she will usually promptly stiffen, hold her breath and straighten her back when she is touched (at the shoulder, at the arm) or let alone hugged without any proper warning. Accordingly when Mar herself reaches out for someone her touch is featherlight and unsteady and she is usually worried that she might hurt the other. This usually turns around when she touches someone in a tensed situation (grasping for their arm to pull them away or grabbing their shoulder to keep them in place), than it is clearly feelable that Mar is indeed able to break a bone with her bare hand(s) because that grasp is ironhard and as unmoveable as a vice.

Mars skin is thick and uncomfortable callouse on her hands and shoulders. Due to keeping her metabolism fired on with herbal drugs, the Halforc is always warm, even hot, to the touch with a fast beathing heartbeat. Yet in the moments in which the herbal remedies wear off her skin becomes easily uncomfortably cold and the woman starts to slouch and drag herself around heavily due to circulatory-problems. Or she just straight up buckles over and stays down. Though its seldom to catch her in such situations, let alone be allowed to touch her.

*When Mar was a very young child she was attacked by a rabid dog near her homevillage. She was bitten in her left forearm and the bone beneath was crushed. She did managed to kill the dog with her stoneknife and drag herself back to her homevillages earthmound. She spend the following year sick and bedridden and in this time she started to first have dreams. Mar has the (untrained and dormant) Second Face and her almost dying and the following sickness activated her very dormant ability of Farsight. When she is sleeping or in any other way not consciously awake, her mind hops in the heads of other beeings near her which allowes her to see through their eyes as a guest. In most cases this happens with cats or other animals, yet never other sentient beeings or dogs (sentient beeings for one because they probably would react to this kind of magic, and dogs, because Mar is utterly terrified of dogs. She however admires cats so he rmidn is for those very open). Mar expierences what that other-one is doing from their perspective and can not act on her own, which could maybe be changed with training. Yet Mar has no idea what she is doing, that what she is seeing is real or how to actively use that gift and she very much thinks she is going mad when she notices that she had seen something that she should/ could not have seen. But Mar thinks that she is a freak in any way possible, so it is not suprising for her that even her dreams are freaky. Which is also the reason why she would never share what she is expierincing with anyone. When Mar knows that she is safe and has not to sleep with one eye open, she usually knocks herself out with potions, so she would not have her "weird dreams".

hair: How does your OC wear their hair? Does it have some kind of meaning?

One of Mars most noticeable features is her very long, very thick and very curely hair, that she wears in two thick, heavy braids hanging down to her knees. Its one of the only features beside her noseshape that she shares with the memebrs of her human family. For one: She is a warrior who is earning her money with beeing able to fight and having the attire and physical fitness to fight. Which means that having that long hair that could be grasped easily is going against her beeing a professional sellsword who was trained since childhood to be as professional as she is. Her clothes are these of a warrior, her baggage is kept strict in order to not slow her down when she is traveling between work or part of a warband, and even the jewelery she wears (The golden tippeleiearring that would be used to pay whoever finds her body if she dies to give her a proper burial, the armlet on her left arm to work as armor and stop strikes from cutting skin, the two metalbracelets that look beautiful but one could be broken to pieces as payment and the other is literally having small pendants on it of gold and silver that could be used as a weight of raw metal when paying for something when she is in an area where she has no areaspecific currency) might look beautiful but also always has a pragmatic usage like protection or usage as payment for supplies. Her hair is simply not practical, when she is specifically born an raised to be used like a tool. Which means that her having that long hair that needs so much work,is soemthing soley for herself, somethign she does for herself as a person despite beeing that warrior she was raised to be.

On the other hand: long hair that is not hidden under a cloth or pinned up or even shaved off is a symbol of royality and wealth.If one is sick or dirty the hair is cut off, a slaves hair is cut off so long hair is the symbol of the free man, If one had made a oath of humblness as a monk the hair is shaved off, if one needs to work daily hard physical labor, the hair is pinned back under a cloth, but if one is rich enough to not having to do that than the hair can be long and be taken care of. Mar is not rich, but as a mercenary she tries to impress people to hire her, so the long hair is showing that she has not only time to take care of it but has enough money to not pinn it back. And if a mercenary has moeny it means they work well and are worth to be hired. Obviously, its pretending, Mar puts a lot of work in her hair and she is far from beeing rich. She is a mercnary after all. And eventually: Long hair is pretty much a sex-symbol and while Mar would not touch the thematic of sexuality and sex with a ten feet pole, she does wants to be wanted and looked at with kind eyes. And people tend to look at something kindly when it is sweet to look at. So her having the long hair is a try to fit into a sterotype of beauty to fit in and be treated kindly.

So eventually her long hair is her expressing herself and mildly rebelling against the line of work set out for her, trying to fit into a certaine beautystandart that she could eventually never fit in , and to pretend she is better of than she actually is.
