Roadblock • Director Harold Daniels
Petition to remake Roadblock and give the female character agency. Why? Because even on fracking Criterion Channel the character is described as a femme fatale/gold digger, when after the first act she has a change of heart and realizes what she really wants is someone who cares about her, and though she repeatedly, emphatically tells this to the male lead, he chooses to ignore this, has his own baggage and claims his downfall is because of/for her…
The final shot of the film (above) clearly illustrates that this should be HER movie when you see this in context.
