The characters in a PJO AU
Celia: Daughter of Cronos. This is a Big Deal and is the source of conflict in this universe. She arrives at Camp at around the same age as in The Book in the Attic
Maddie: Daughter of Tyche. She’s on the weaker side, but able to balance odds really well. She and Celia met at the Hermes table since neither of their parents have a cabin.
Josh: Son of Ares. Love is war.
Kitt: Centaur and camp storyteller. He’s pretty young so he’s not a leader but he supervises during campfire and Capture the Flag
Heath: Son of Hephaestus, he mans the forge and is the second oldest in his cabin. He comes across as laid back but he’s really good about making sure no one gets hurt in such a fire-prone environment
Audra: clear-sighted mortal and Hunter of Artemis. She arrives in camp later on, effectively as their liaison. Her role among the Hunters is diplomacy
Doxa: Also a Hunter of Artemis, and is Artemis’s representative amongst the council of the Gods. A bit of a bully early on, but she lets up on Celia when she realizes they both want to protect those who are powerless
Quiroz: Son of Hermes, the God of travellers, messengers, thieves, and Psychopomp
Lyerly: Daughter of Apollo, specializes in truth and prophecy, eventually becomes the Oracle of Camp when they let the attic mummy pass on
Casimir: Son of Zeus, and feels entitled because of it

Soccer World Cup Champion Tobin Heath’s Artwork is Up for Auction
We chatted with the World Cup champion and artist about her creative process, the inspiration behind her newest work and what it’s like to collaborate with her teammates off the field.
Can you describe your creative process at the very beginning of a new piece of art?
At re–inc, we start each season and collection with a specific feeling and message we want to share. From there, I begin the process of trying to express that through my art. I’m not the type of person who uses words to share how I’m feeling. For our Black & White collection, the feeling is the tension one feels when trying to reimagine the status quo. That’s something that we’ve really lived in starting this company.
As an artist, where do you draw inspiration from?
I’ve never had to look for inspiration. My inspiration is all around and within me.
What inspired your newest piece, Pixelation?
Starting with the expression of the tension, struggle and polarity of reimagining the status quo, I painted a “program,” which is the pattern you see in the painting. For me, this represents the fact that no matter how unique or individual each of us are, status-quo culture pulls us into a system. I knew I wanted to break that system somehow in this painting. When I couldn’t figure out how, it drove me crazy. I didn’t want to ruin the painting, so I became frustrated and realized that through the process, I was living in the exact condition that I was trying to paint. With that, I began trying different ways of breaking the pattern. Many were not right, but by trying and being brave, I found my way into breaking the system.
How did you select Alternate Roots as the partial benefactor for the auction?
At re–inc, we always want to start anything we do with a giving heart, even in the early stages of our company. That mindset is our brand’s core. And with the art auction, we wanted to partner specifically with an organization that gives others the opportunity to create as well. Alternate Roots is a Southern arts organization that has supported cultural organizers that champion social and economic justice for more than 40 years.
Beyond art and soccer, what is something you are completely obsessed with?
Being true to myself. Which I am able to do every day in football, in art and in re–inc.
At what point in your life did you realize you wanted to pursue soccer professionally?
Football is my life’s passion. I’ve always thought of it that way. I have worked to improve myself and to be my absolute best. I am grateful that it is now my profession, but I never think of it as a job.
How did conversations start with your teammates to launch Re–inc and what has been like to collaborate with them off the field?
We started re–inc to build a structure to support our own values. To bet on ourselves, and by doing so, betting on people everywhere who have been undervalued or misunderstood, or feel forced to fit in. Starting re–inc was an opportunity for us to express our true selves — and help others do the same — and break the structures and boxes that hold us back in the world.

Working on a new game series called Skyriders, Skyriders is a racing game I’m workin on when I get to college for video game designing
It’s inspired by Sonic Riders
The game is about teams of racers from from 12 dimensions competing for the Sky Rider awards for their cooperative efforts, skills and passions to prove they’re one of the best racers of the Sincurrus galaxy!
The vehicles they use are called Aerogears, anti-gravity-equipped vehicles consisting of hover boards, hover skates, and hover bikes.
There will be more events but heres the 4 events that are avaiable
1. Racing- Pretty Self-Explanatory
2. Strikeout - A Dodgeball styled game
3. Capture The Flag- Steal back your team flag from the enemy team
4. Rings - It’s like Quidditch but with Hoverboards instead of Broomsticks
The 12 Planets are made from various different elements

The finalists were announced live via Instagram by Australian actor and 2018 HLS Ambassador Eka Darville (Jessica Jones, Empire). The recipient will be announced on Thursday, September 20 at the iconic Chateau Marmont

so i get super confused with all of nialls friends lol maybe you can help me out? are deo, willie and josh all related, and if so, how? and are they related to niall / are these the cousins he went to asia with? (i'm like relatively new to the fandom haha)
THE NIALL CREW
Deo - perpetual sidekick.  lowkey harmless. brother of Willie, Martin, Derek.  Went to Asia.
Willie - Niall’s housemate for years, actual adult, probably the most put together. Brother of Deo, Martin, Derek.  Also in Asia w/ Niall.
Derek - the lost Devine.  Married, way older, never shows up for anything.
Martin - Starting to turn up randomly, seems an alright lad.  Probably close to what Willie is like.
Josh Devine - Touring drummer for 1d.  No relation.
Matt Goulet - LA crew.  highkey d bag.
Justin Stirling - See above
Courtney - LA Crew Selena’s bff, close with Goulet and Stir
Raquel - LA Crew Courtney’s bff, see above
Sean “Mully” Mulligan - Irish lad, now lives in LA (possibly in Niall’s house, we have no confirmation).  Constantly seen telling Niall to “Fuck off” in Niall’s insta/snapchat.
Niall “Bressie” Breslin - Niall’s mentor from Mullingar.  Irish national treasure, former rugby play, The Voice Ireland judge, frontman of The Blizzards.  6′6″ of mental heath awareness beauty.  Calls Niall “Chief”.  part of the London Irish Crew (LIC)
Laura Whitmore - MTV presenter/model, effortlessly cool af.  Once rumored to be boning Niall to which she was visibly disgusted and said it would be like shagging her little brother.  Part of the LIC.  Niall once went through her underwear drawer and wore her bra on his head.
Eoghan McDermott - (pronounced Owen) RTE Radio presenter, general insane person, questionable hair choices.  Hilarious and harmless.  Dating possibly the most beautiful woman ever who is a model/doctor because apparently that’s a real thing.  Member of the LIC.

15 Patriotic Movies to Watch on Independence Day
Patton
Played expertly by George C. Scott, “Patton” tells the story of the controversial military general during the World War II era of his career.
Mr. Smith Goes To Washington
“Mr. Smith Goes to Washington” is one of the greatest underdog story in film. After Jefferson Smith is selected to replace a senator he heads to Washington to find it a corrupt mess. In order to beat the corruption he launches a physically and mentally taxing filibuster.
Glory
The story of Robert Gould Shaw (Matthew Broderick) and the infantry men (Denzel Washington, Morgan Freeman) of the first all-black volunteer company who struggle fighting the Confederates as well as prejudices from other Union soldiers. The film earned a heap of accolades including three Oscar wins.
Miracle
The true story of Herb Brooks, the 1980 U.S. Olympic hockey coach who led his team to victory against a seemingly unbeatable Russian team.
Apollo 13
After suffering internal damage on their way to a moon landing, astronauts Jim Lovell (Tom Hanks), Jack Swigert (Kevin Bacon) and Fred Haise (Ken Watanabe) struggle to find a way to get safely back to Earth. The film is human ingenuity and perseverance at its best.
Independence Day
How could this one not be on the list? Aliens attack, blowing up the White House in the process, and the response is for the country to band together to kick some alien ass. Highlights include every scene Will Smith is in and perhaps the greatest motivational speech ever, delivered by President Thomas J. Whitmore (Bill Pullman).
Air Force One
While not the only take-charge president on the list, Harrison Ford’s President James Marshall may be the most badass. When hijackers take control of Air Force One Marshall, an ex-soldier, takes it upon himself to fight back.
Born on the Fourth of July
The biography of Ron Kovic (Tom Cruise), the story of a man who becomes an anti-war and pro-human rights activist after being paralyzed in the Vietnam War and feeling betrayed by his country.
Team America: World Police
“South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone not only gave us a great satire on American patriotism with their marionette-starring “Team America: World Police,” but also the greatest anthem to scream from the hilltops since the National Anthem. America, f–k yeah!
The Patriot
Mel Gibson stars in this Revolutionary War film about a peaceful farmer pushed into the militia after British soldiers murder his son. Come for the Gibson and Heath Ledger moments, stay for the brilliant bayonet fights.
Yankee Doodle Dandy
A musical about the composer who put together some of America’s most classic tunes like “Yankee Doodle Dandy” and “Grand Old Flag.” James Cagney plays musical genius George M. Cohan.
Top Gun
Tom Cruise and Val Kilmer’s Maverick and Iceman have gone down as some of the most iconic characters in film thanks to this movie about fighter pilots competing against one another to be the best.
The Sandlot
“The Sandlot” is essentially America nostalgia in cinematic form. This coming-of-age story about boys and the field they gathered on to play ball struck a chord with audiences across the country.
Rocky IV
For all the American vs. Russia stories that were rampant in the mid-80s, “Rocky IV” may very well be the best. After Ivan Drago kills Apollo Creed in a match, Rocky travels to Russia for a revenge match.
Saving Private Ryan
Opening with a harrowing depiction of D-Day and keeping the gas to the floor for the remainder of the film, this Steven Spielberg-directed, Tom Hanks-starring movie about a group trying to save the last of four brothers is the pinnacle of what war films can be.

09:47
Det nominerade är: Harvey Zielinski, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Ezekiel Simat, Gemma Bird Matheson, Kipan Rothbury, Aaron Glenane, Brenna Harding, Bethany Whitmore, Charmaine Bingwa, Nicholas Denton.
13:40
Nu blir det brottom!! Den 16 September skall jag vara i LA, tills dess vill jag ha mitt körkort!
14:15
Jag kom på en genial pluggteknik. Stå upp och läs. Träna menar du läser.

Re—inc launches art auction featuring Tobin Heath's provoking 'Pixelation' painting
Formed by four USWNT soccer players who want to challenge the status quo.
Last year, four players from the U.S. women’s national soccer team — Megan Rapinoe, Tobin Heath, Meghan Klingenberg and Christen Press — launched a lifestyle brand driven to reimagine the status quo and take control of their own identities. Called re—inc, the company creates capsule collections focused on gender-neutral streetwear apparel that defies convention. Each collection release is accompanied by a piece of original art, which acts as both the inspiration and physical representation of the collection’s theme.
This month, re—inc is holding an art auction featuring an original painting by Tobin Heath created for the brand’s upcoming “Black & White” collection. Between USWNT games and training, Heath began methodically creating a painting, entitled Pixelation, in a small studio in Portland, Oregon. Four full paintings lie underneath the final work, literally and symbolically showing layers of stories, thoughts and ideas. Written in one layer of the work in dripping blue paint is “I don’t understand but I want to.” An expression of the tension between expectations and individuality, Pixelation provokes the viewer to consider their individuality and role within a confined system.

Shoreditch – A Guide to the Area
We love East London and one of our favourite neighbourhoods is Shoreditch. It’s full of  cool cafes, artsy galleries colourful graffiti around every corner and of course the famous Brick Lane market. There’s so much to see and do in this fun part of town so why not explore the area with our extensive guide to the coolest local spots.
EAT/DRINK
Story Deli (6 Calvert Avenue, London, E2 7JP) — One of London’s best kept secrets has now moved to a new home in Calvert Avenue. The pizzas are still just as crispy and delicious and the pared back, effortlessly cool interior still looks so fresh and unique. Definitely one of the best pizzas in London.
Albion (2-4 Boundary Street, London, E2 7DD) — On the ground floor of the beautiful Boundary Hotel, Albion is a favourite amongst locals. Its breakfasts and bakery counter never disappoint.
Lyles (56 Shoreditch High Street, London E1 6JJ) –The much talked about Lyles restaurant in the famous Tea Building serves up seasonal British dishes with a twist. Lunches are a la carte but evenings are a single set price menu, it’s popular so booking is essential.
Pizza Purist (Elys Yard, Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane) — One of the most popular food trucks in the Old Truman Brewery. Authentic sourdough pizzas cooked in an enormous wood fired stone oven that was actually shipped over from Italy. Delicious and perfect for a quick and easy bite.
Flat Iron (77 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3BS) — Steak and chips done perfectly.  Simple, well cooked and delicious.
Dum Dums (Unit 31 Box Park, 2-10 Bethnal Green Road, London, E1 6GY) — We all agreed that these were the most delicious doughnuts we have ever tasted. They are baked rather than fried so are far healthier. You can also get crones (croissant doughnut ice creams) with a selection of fillings. So good!!
Smokestack (35 Sclater Street, London, E1 6LB) — After building up a cult following with its street food stall in Dalston Smokestack has now opened a bricks and mortar restaurant serving “grown up BBQ food”. The food is seriously tasty and a step up from the usual BBQ fare. The outside tables are also a great spot to watch the comings and goings of the market.
SHOP
Luna and Curious (24-26 Calvert Avenue, London, E27JP) — A cheerful kids and womenswear shop on one of the prettiest streets in the neighbourhood. Featuring many British made designs as well as their in-house designed knitwear in bright, bold colours. They also sell a fun selection of toys and books and some lovely jewellery for Mum.
Good Hood (151 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3QE) — One of our favourite shops in London, this place is a one stop shop for unique stylish homewares, stationary, gadgets and fashion.
SCP (135-139 Curtain Road, London, EC2A 3BX) — British modernist design at its best, selling everything from furniture to jewellery and a really fun selection of kids toys too.
Search and Destroy (20 Cheshire Street, London, E2 6EH) — Vintage clothing stores can be found on every street corner in Shoreditch but Search and Destroy feels that little bit different. Here you’ll find a carefully sourced selection of unique and beautiful pieces. Such as pretty embroidered Oaxacan dresses and hand stitched leather satchels.  Such a charming store.
Labour and Wait (85 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DJ) — Selling a quirky selection of timeless functional products this is one of those stores that you could browse for hours. Everything is beautifully made and has a wonderfully nostalgic feel.
Le Labo (61 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DJ) — Bespoke perfumes, freshly blended in personalised bottles. The smell of this place alone is worth a visit.
Box park (2-10 Bethnal Green Road, London E1 6GY) — Boxpark describes itself as the worlds first pop up mall. Shops are housed inside a complex of repurposed shipping containers, all linked together beneath a giant street food market. Such a clever and unique idea to showcase up and coming independent brands.
Dark Sugars Chocolates (141 Brick Lane, London, E1 6SB) — This incredible chocolate shop has to be seen to be believed. We always drop in here for a tasty treat whenever we are in the area. Set up by a Ghanaian lady who spent years travelling South America and West Africa in search of the perfect cocoa. Its a chocolate lovers dream and well worth a visit.
DO
V&A Museum of Childhood (Cambridge Heath Road, London, E2 9PA) — There is no where else quite like this wonderful museum! It’s home to one of the largest collections of children’s toys and games in the world, including some of the world’s most beautiful doll’s houses from times gone by. Children will love seeing toys that their parents and grandparents grew up playing with and I guarantee you’ll leave feeling more than a little nostalgic too. Check out their website for up to date information on their extensive range of family activities and events.
Barber and Parlour (64-66 Redchurch Street, London, E2 7DP) — This cavernous old warehouse on the corner of Redchurch street is Soho House’s newest concept in male and female grooming. Not only do they serve excellent coffee in their laid back ground floor cafe but the beauty treatments here are fast and surprisingly cheap too.
Spitalfields Market (Brushfield Street, London, E1 6AA) — Market traders have been coming to Spitalfields for over 350 to sell their wares. Where fruit and vegetables once stood, London’s oldest market today now showcases everything from art and crafts to fashion and food. As well as market stalls you’ll also find a great choice of restaurants and shops.
The Old Truman Brewery and Brick Lane Market (Brick Lane, London, E1 6QR) — With almost every street food stall you can think of Brick Lane and the Truman Brewery are a foodie’s heaven. You can also find vintage goods, art and fashion inside the Truman Brewery’s various indoor markets.
Columbia Road Flower Market (Columbia Road, London, E2 7RG) — The famous Columbia Road Flower market is such a fun and colourful experience. Every Sunday the whole street comes to life with the buzz of market traders and the vibrant sights and scents of the of flower stalls. You can pick up some great bargains too so take plenty of empty shopping bags.
Regents Canal — Take a stroll along the peaceful and picturesque Regents Canal with its colourful houseboats and quirky cafes and restaurants scattered along the towpath. Its a relaxing way to explore the area away from the busy roads and you’ll find some great hidden gems along the way such as the cool Towpath Cafe by Whitmore Bridge.
If you’ve any other suggestions for this fun part of town please add them in the comments below, we’d love to hear them!

Could Trump scandals cause a slump in the the stock market?

Financial experts say don’t let the events of the day dictate how you how you handle your investments.
But that is easier said than done. Just look at what happened to the stock market on Wednesday.
“U.S. stocks sold off and volatility mounted Wednesday as renewed political turmoil in Washington cast doubt on whether President Trump can push forward with a pro-growth agenda that had helped drive stocks to repeat records,” Sue Chang reported for MarketWatch.
Then there was the news about an alleged memo from former FBI director James B. Comey.

Why Trump should be very afraid of James Comey’s memos
The Washington Post’s Thomas Heath reported, “The stock market on Wednesday took its biggest dive since before President Trump’s election. The Dow Jones industrial average lost 368 points, or 1.8 percent to 20,611, as a broad array of other indexes all lost ground.”
Turmoil over recent Trump controversies triggers the Dow’s biggest losses since September
Oh well, it’s been a good ride.
As Heath wrote: “Wednesday’s market turbulence comes amid near-record highs following an eight-year bull run fueled by strong earnings, especially in the technology sector. The stock market has been on a tear since the November election, helped in part by a president who endorses business-friendly policies such deregulation and tax cuts.”
There was also the report in The Post that Trump revealed secret intelligence to Russian officials.
I don’t want you to panic, but you still should be informed about how the scandals are affecting the markets. Here are some stories you should read:
— U.S. stocks rattled on worries over Comey’s Trump memos
—Stocks sell off on Trump concern; dollar at Nov. low
— The market may be okay even without Trump in charge Boris Schlossberg, the managing director of foreign exchange strategy for BK Asset Management, told CNBC that the “the U.S. stock market ‘already assumes’ President Donald Trump will be impeached.”
— Dow falls 300 points as Trump worries escalate: Is Wall Street finally getting ready to throw in the towel on President Trump? Perhaps. “It’s a fairly big sell-off, but nowhere close to some of the bigger market drops that stocks experienced in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis,” wrote Paul R. La Monica for CNNMoney.
So long to the Trump market bump & say hello to the Trump slump? I’ll be talking to @BrookeBCNN about the market selloff on @CNN at 2:50 ET.
— Paul R. La Monica (@LaMonicaBuzz) May 17, 2017
Others think it’s not the scandals that will tank the market but the inability of Congress to pass tax reform amid the controversy.
“Stocks sold off in the strongest reaction yet to political controversy surrounding the Trump White House, but the market is not likely to head into a serious correction unless it appears the chaos disrupts any chance for tax reform,” wrote Patti Domm for CNBC.
For now, the best advice from experts is not to be rash. Remember investing is a long-term game. The markets go up and down. This too shall pass.
Or follow people with money: The super rich aren’t selling because of Trump
Color Money question of the week Are you afraid the controversies around Trump will cause a slump in market? Send your comments to [email protected]. Please include your name, city and state. In the subject line put “Trump Scandals.”
Chat canceled I won’t have a live discussion today, but I’ll be back next week.
In the meantime, we had a lively chat last week with Erin Currier, director of financial security and mobility for the Pew Charitable Trusts. Currier discussed two recent reports by Pew on income volatility and financial shocks.
If you missed the conversation here’s the transcript.
Looking for Love? Having this poor financial measure can make you less attractive. Turns out that having a great credit history makes people a good dating prospect, according to a new survey by Bankrate.com. Almost two in five U.S. adults said knowing someone’s credit score would affect their interest in dating that person. Last week I asked: How soon should dating couples share information about their credit score?
Carol Flynt from Whitmore Lake, Mich., wrote, “It’s not the credit score itself that is important. (Unless you are making a loan to the date.) The credit score is an indication of one’s relationship with money. I’ve seen marriages crumble when one is a saver and the other is a spender. I know my marriage is strong partly because we both approach money matters in the same way. It’s never the cause of argument, which I understand is unusual in marriages. That said, I think there are better ways to get the same information, all of which require time and conversation. A score reported on a dating website means nothing.”
“In my opinion, if you are not talking about marriage and building a family, then there is no need to be exchanging credit scores, 401(k) or any financial information,” wrote Meagan from Smyrna, Ga. “You can be working on correcting financial mistakes, if they are any, and developing great spending habits in your season of singleness, as I am doing. This is a season of preparation, not a season of ‘I have it all together!’ ”
