Mars kitty- A sci-fi, slow burn romance with a somehow strong focus on speculative biology, is available for reading FOR FREE on webtoon!
Want me to convince you why you should read? Well...
Where should I start?
Is your favorite part of stories the characters? Let me introduce you to the main cast then!
The main character - Doctor Fawsley K. . This man has dedicated his life to reviving a long-extinct alien species, and now has his life objective to keep the animal alive and well. Even if that means working on a very questionable pirate spaceship.
His "best friend" - Doctor Henry Heiman - is a younger scientist who's honestly just happy to be there. The two had worked together in the past, and this was also one of the reasons for Henry also getting this job.
I dare say that the most sane on their group is her. Doctor Alice Piazzi, here to take care of the second most dangerous creature we have in this ship.
Now, I did say we share a ship with pirates, didn't I?
We have them! Only a few were revealed so far, though.
From left to right:
Liso the mechanic, Guhlk the pilot, and the two younger members of the crew Jack and Corrina.
These guys I can't tell much about just yet- updates gotta catch up first! But I can show you their captain...
Captain Devilman. Don't let his appearance fool you- He is VERY different from what you would expect.
Enough about the humans, right? We should talk...
Animals. We should talk animals!
The dragon slugs are incredibly cute, but also incredibly dangerous. You could keep one as a pet, but even the domesticated ones have poison in their bodies! The one we see on the comic is Princess, and she's Alice's "work buddy".
Pip, the ant flyer! This little guy in clingy and cute, but also evil. You know when your dog loves someone else way more than you? Yeah. That's how Henry feels.
And our last guy... Is a secret.
Just kidding! This is REX, the revived Sorvitii forest bull. This big guy should be extinct, but Fawsley decided to take it as his life objective to make one last of them- which is now REX. Anyways, who wouldn't want a hippo-sized puppy?
Besides all of these characters and creatures, another reason you should read this is ...
The colors!
All pages have a unique palette, sometimes representing the emotions felt during it. You'll sometimes read a page and go : do the colors mean something this time? Maybe they do, maybe they don't. It is a fun guessing game!
The author!
Just a little guy trying to get his start on a more professional life. The industry is hell and if I wait for a job to accept me I'm never going anywhere. So why not use the time- that will pass anyways - for something I love?
Anyways. This was my little rant on why you should read my comic.
I convinced you? Here's the link again, then!

This Day in History: Battle of Fort Donelson
On this day in 1962, Confederate forces attempt to break out of Fort Donelson. The effort did not succeed; instead, the Union victory that followed would boost the reputation of then-Brigadier General Ulysses S. Grant, who led the Union effort.
It was then early in the Civil War, and the Confederacy was working to establish three forts near the Kentucky-Tennessee border. These forts were intended to protect several nearby rivers from being used by Union forces. The Union Army wanted to take these forts, of course. Grant proposed an attack on the area and was put in charge of the effort. He wanted to act quickly, before the forts could be completed and fully manned.
The first of these, Forts Henry and Heiman, fell relatively easily on February 6.

Dries Van Langenhove, the founder of the far-right movement Schild & Vrienden, has been sentenced to a one-year effective prison term for violations of the racism and negationism law.
The Ghent correctional court announced its sentence for Van Langenhove, a former MP for the Flemish far-right party Vlaams Belang, on Tuesday. He has been given up to one year of effective imprisonment for violations of the racism and negationism law, including denying the Holocaust.
He also has to pay a €16,000 fine and loses ten years of his civil rights, taking away his right to vote, but also the right to be elected or hold public office. He was also handed down ten months of suspended imprisonment for violations of the weapons law. Van Langenhove was again not present at the hearing.
The final sentence is more lenient than what was initially requested by the prosecution (a two-year prison sentence and a fine of €24,000). However, the Ghent court judge used strong language in the sentencing, stating that the accused was "an instigator of racism and negationism."
The judge also spoke of "criminal behaviour" and contributing to hate speech and violence. "He creates a hostile atmosphere in society. He contributes to antagonism, discord and conflict and thus fosters physical and psychological violence. All this points to a particularly dangerous mindset."
'Bigoted racism'
The verdict has long been awaited. The criminal investigation started more than five years after a VRT Pano report showed that racist and antisemitic messages were shared in secret chat groups of Schild & Vrienden. In June 2019, Van Langenhove was officially put under suspicion.
Before the trial, several people and institutions have taken civil sides, believing they are victims of the group, including the equal opportunities organisation Unia, the Human Rights League and Ghent University. Former magistrate Henri Heimans, whose parents survived Nazi concentration camps, also declared himself a civil party.
"I am not euphoric, but I am satisfied with the verdict and especially with the justification of the verdict," he told VRT after the verdict was announced. "The court says that bigoted racism sets society against each other. That is substantiated in the verdict, which I think is the most important thing."
Five of the six other defendants, also members of the far-right movement, received jail terms with deferments of six to eight months and effective fines of €8,000.
The final defendant received a suspended sentence with conditions, including an escorted visit to the Dossin Kazerne in Mechelen, which between 1942 and 1944 served as an assembly camp for thousands of Jews and Roma people before they were sent to concentration camps.
Today likely won't mark the end of this case, which has lasted for over five years, as Hans Rieder, Van Langenhove's lawyer, will immediately appeal the verdict.

Haki R. Madhubuti wrote about this in detail in 1990 in his book "Black Men: Obsolete, Single, Dangerous? The Afrikan American Family in Transition"...it was just a chapter/section...
My Father "made me" read such books as a child, then as I got to about High School age I re-read this one on my own, then read it again in college...It always felt maddening to see the ease in how these things take place and get brushed aside. It was a wake up call to some truths about this world at a young age of how lawless and immoral it really is at the core. (Need to read again and gift it to a few)
He identifies the doctors, documents, dates and how they did this under the guise of vaccination and you can trace the documented efforts of "philanthropy" and "aid" by dates and locations and correlate this to where the first outbreaks of HIV/AIDS spread...
No this wasn't tied to some Anti-vaccination message, but tied to the actual evil practice of governments, medical institutions and pharmaceutical corporations being okay with infecting, testing and exterminating people of color or of low economic standing...the voiceless. Please see the examples listed below if you enjoy mocking folks who don't trust medical professionals or vaccinations as if people aren't OWED every bit of breakdown to understand what is being done to our kids and to us...
Evil exists and it isn't through some fictional devil that lives beneath our feet, but the devil in the hearts of men/women complicit in acts like this all to gain control, resources and "things"...since that young age I looked at "new" diseases differently and always think about the how, who and why man created this particular virus or ailment. Was it an accident they choose to weaponize or merely a mistake in trying to do good that again was commodified to make millions on treatment/pharmaceutical products...
Examples of unethical experiments and experiments executed without consent...just a tiny taste of them if you are curious:
Tuskegee Syphillis Experiments
The Father of Gynecology J. Marion Sims who performed surgical experiments on enslaved African women with no anaesthesia or regard for their lives never mind having no consent
Dr. Arthur Wenworth spinal tap experiment on 29 children without consent
Dr. Leo Stanley - San Quentin doctor that did all types of evil on the prisoners, because who cares...testicular implants taking testicles from executed prisoners and implanting into living prisoners just to see what happens...Didn't stop there he took animal testicles and implanted into living men, forced sterilization, eugenics experiments...he is credited in his criminality and unethical experiments leading to better erections.
Pediatrician Henry Heiman infected mentally disabled children ages 4-6 with Gonorrhea because it has been 40 cases where this PRACTICE was used on sick children to learn more about the disease.
U.S Army infected prisoners 1906 with the Bubonic plague...
Professor (not medical doctor) Richard Strong infected folks with Cholera.
United States has performed THOUSANDS of radiation experiments culminating on an Advisory Committee on Human Radiation Experiments being established by executive order by Bill Clinton in 1995. Thousands of pages of documents and proof showing hospital patients were being injected with PLUTONIUM!! Food provided to the poor contaminated, so much...sponsored, approved, supervised by government agencies on citizens.
Holmesberg Program - on behalf of the U.S. Army, Johnson & Johnson, Dow Chemical Company Dr. Albert Kligman was paid to experiment on Holmesberg prisoners in PA. This resulted in the development of "Agent Orange", Herbicides, all types of skin based chemicals for weapons and general use...human experiments never mind animal trials...because in prison you are barely a person and who gets out in prison has never been about justice...9 out of 10 prisoners in his era were experimented on
So many disgusting examples

How is power changing in a hyperconnected world? by Al Jazeera English “Strength in numbers” is the idea that a group of people has more influence than just one person—that the collective is stronger as a whole. It’s also one of the guiding principles in “New Power”, a book by authors Jeremy Heimans and Henry Timms about the power dynamics in the 21st century. Heimans and Timms assert there is a new form of power, one that democratises and equalises our ability to create change. It’s what fuels movements like #MeToo and #BlackLivesMatter. But not every successful movement is an altruistic one. The “new power” principle can be harnessed by anyone. It’s one of the reasons ISIL and the so-called alt-right movement in the United States have been effective. So just how is new power reshaping our world and how do you turn a moment into a movement? Heimans and Timms will explain in this episode of The Stream. Human Experimentation
Human Experimentation—the practice of subjecting live human beings to science experiments that are sometimes cruel, painful, or deadly — is a major part of US history that you won’t find in most history or science books. It is still continuing today. Here are a few examples, out of many more. They are not for the FAINT OF HEART.
1845: J. Marion Sims, later hailed as the “Father of Gynecology,” performs medical experiments on enslaved African women without anesthesia. These women would usually die of infection soon after surgery. Because of his belief that the movement of newborns’ skull bones during protracted births causess trismus, he uses a shoemaker’s awl, a pointed toll shoemakers use to make holes in leather, to practice moving the skull bones of babies born to enslaved mothers.
1895: New York pediatrician Henry Heiman infects a 4 year old boy who he calls “an idiot with chronic epilepsy” with gonorrhea as part of a medical experiment.
1906: Harvard professor Dr. Richard Strong infects prisoners in the Philippines with cholera to study the disease; 13 of them die. He compensates survivors with cigars an cigarettes. During the Nuremberg Trials, Nazi doctors cite this study to justify their own medical experiments.
1919: Researchers perfrm testicular transplant experiments on inmates at San Quentin State Prison in California, inserting the testicles of recently executed inmates and goats into the abdomens and scrotums of living prisoners.
1931: Cornelius Rhoads, a pathologist from the Rockerfeller Institute for Medical Research, purposely infects human test subjects in Puerto Rico with cancer cells; 13 of them die. ThoughRhoads gives a written testimony stating he believes that all Puerto Ricans should be killed, he later goes on to establish the US Army Biological Warfare facilities in Maryland, Utah, and Panama, and is named to the US Atomoc Energy Commission, where he begins a series of radiation exposure experiments on American soldiers and civilian hospital patients.
1932:The US Public Health Service in Tuskegee, Alabama diagnoses 400 poor, black sharecroppers with syphilis but never tells them of their illness nor treats them; instead researchers use the men as guinea pigs to follow the symptoms and progression of the disease. They all eventually die from syphilis and their families are never told that they could have been treated.
1939: In order to test his theory on the roots of stuttering, prominent speech pathologist Dr. Wendall Johnson performs his famous “Monster Experiment” on 22 children at the Iowa Soldier’s Orphan’s Home in Davenport, Dr. johnson and his graduate students put the childre undr intense psychological pressure, causing them to switch from speaking normally to stuttering heavly.
