Hi, I love your Maruki Priest AU. I was hoping that Maruki's palace would have a cognitive Joker so your idea is so good. (the scythe weapon is A+). Also, your take on Akechi's relationship (amicable but strained) is great. After betrayal (from Maruki AND Akechi), I feel like he'd have issues with trust in general, let alone trusting someone who hurt him and his friends. Finally, if you don't mind, what's going on with his Personas? I'm SO worried for Arsene, Satanael, and Raoul in this AU.

thank you so much!!!! in this au, he still retains control over all of the personas in his arsenal, which is why he makes it such a difficult fight for akechi and yoshizawa. his fighting spirit isnt gone, its just dampened by maruki, and in this case, hes utilizing it against what he perceives as an attack on his beliefs. its an interesting question, if someone can be their true authentic self underneath someone else's hand, but luckily, maruki does not need to worry about theory or ethics when he can change the world itself.. i think that if he can physically be the ruler of his palace instead of his shadow, then i think that he can manipulate both akira and the metaverse in order to best serve his interests.

i WILL say though, akira is not able use raoul! unfortunately, that guy is locked until the gang can free akira from maruki's control. and although in this au akira can talk freely with his personas after they have become a mask, they will no longer respond to him verbally! it is like they no longer have a "voice" so to speak. unfortunately this further isolates an already confused and dulled akira, although he continues to talk at his personas even when they no longer respond. hope this helps ^_^

#tldr akira still has all his personas but can no longer converse with them #there is more i would like to draw on this tangent but i dont know if i will have the time to do it #so for now i will say it here #without the phantom thieves his confidantes or the velvet room akira is pretty much left with maruki and his personas #and so will manifest them even outside of fighting for a silent bodyguard [a companion!]#arsene especially will pick akira up and carry him around #NOT LIKE A PRINCESS CARRY HAHA like akira will kind of just lounge around on him #he will also use these personas as a physical buffer between him and akechi and yoshizawa #with the size of his scythe/staff it is easier to fight mid-long range #and so even physically he does not get as close as he would normally in a fight #persona 5 royal #persona 5 royal spoilers #maruki's priest au #NOT sure if i explained correctly how akiras personas carry him.. ill try to illustrate it later #ask
