He was tired. So tired, he almost had to drag himself into his own apartment. What Hifumi wouldn’t give to flop into bed and sleep for a week straight. However, he still had work to do tomorrow night, whether he wanted to or not.

Fumbling with his keys, he let out a big yawn as he opened the door. He kicked off his shoes and let his keys fall to the floor. Tomorrow Hifumi could worry about that. For now he was going to grab a snack and crawl into bed.

“Hifumi? Is that you?”

He paused.

“Y/n?”

“In the living room.”

It was then that he noticed you were cuddled up on the couch with two pints of ice cream next to you. Smiling at him, you hold up his favorite ice cream. He swore he could’ve burst into sobs right then and there. Instead, he fell onto the couch next to you.

“You’re the best, you know that?” He mumbled.

Wrapping a blanket around him, you gave him a kind smile. “So I’ve been made aware. But this is nothing. You’ve been working so hard lately. I thought I’d do something special for you.”

“Like I said, the best.”

“Alright, alright, hurry up and eat your ice cream before it melts. I’ll put a show on so you can unwind.”

Taking his pint of ice cream and a spoon, Hifumi tried to stay awake as he watched and ate. But his body was quick to relax in the comfortable atmosphere. His eyes started to slide close and his grip on his spoon began to falter.

It wasn’t much longer, at least to him, when you gently shook his shoulder. “Hey, don’t fall asleep on me now. I won’t be able to bring you to bed.”

He hummed in response. You took his ice cream and spoon and cleaned up the living room as he continued to nod off. When you returned, you took his hand and led him to bed. Even though he leaned against you, he still made it on his own.

Not bothering to change into comfy clothes, he flopped onto the bed and pulled his pillow in close. With a small chuckle, you pulled his blanket up to his chin, causing him to further melt into the comfort of his bed. 

With a tired smile, he whispered, “I love you.”

You replied with a quiet, “I love you too.”

"I'm going now.."

Doppo said with a bored and tired tone while giving Hifumi a kiss on his cheek and y/n a kiss on their forehead.

"Aww… You work even today..?", Y/n sounded so surprised but also felt sad for his partner, who really looked like he needed to get some rest. Hifumi chuckled a little bit, worried as he spoke: "Honey.. You sure you can go?.. You really look like you're going to faint from a moment to another!"

Doppo tried his best to convince his partners that everything was fine and that he was okay. Though he thought to himself that he was lucky to have them in his life.. They were amazing and could understand him even when he didn't speak, just by looking into his eyes! They were amazing.. They didn't need his words to know his feelings..!

Doppo smiled warmly, thanking them for being that wonderful, and then closed the apartment's door behind his back, walking to his workplace while holding his bag full of documents.

Hifumi sighed and smiled softly, looking at y/n. He seemed to be quite worried about Doppo. It was even Valentine's Day..! Why did he have to keep working even that day?!.. It looked like he was the only hard-worker of his company! Y/n wasn't less worried about their dear Doppo.. The fact that his boss constantly stressed him about everything.. Did that old brat know that Doppo wasn't the only worker in there?!?

"Y/n.. sweetheart.. I have an idea for spending this evening!"

As Hifumi spoke, y/n smiled brightly and turned their sparkling eyes to him, while he was approaching the kitchen and taking two aprons. He gently helped y/n to wear one of them and then gave them a cute and quick kiss on their lips.

"We're going to cook a delicious dinner for our sweet potato?", y/n laughed adorably as they referred to Doppo as "sweet potato". Hifumi nodded chuckling as he spoke: "Yes! So he will relax after a long day!"

Y/n couldn't help but blushed and smiled warmly after hearing how cute Hifumi was while worrying about Doppo. The fact that he really cared about both Doppo and them.. y/n loved it..!

Both the partners started cooking with all their love for Doppo, cooperating for the perfect dinner of all the times!.. That was how Hifumi called it..! While y/n was preparing their dear salaryman's favourite dessert, Hifumi was baking a cake and some other dishes. Soon they both left their apartment to buy some flowers and chocolates. They had fun even trying some clothes on in clothes' shops.. for example Hifumi tried a funny t-shirt on and made y/n laugh a lot, or even joking about lingeries…

Everything was going to be the best! And both Hifumi and y/n really hoped to surprise and make Doppo genuinely happy. He needed to have some time of cuddles and affection and to rest after that long stupid day at work.

After some minutes of walking around and buying stuff for the dinner, Hifumi decided to bring y/n to a specific clothes' shop.. Some previous days Hifumi had walked by that shop with his dear partner and had noticed how they had looked at the shop window and, in particular, at some clothes worn by a mannequin.

"B-Babe..?", they asked whispering when he gently took their hand and walked into the shop. He looked around and immediately spoke to a saleswoman, pointing at the mannequin.. He had completely ignored y/n, who was trying to understand what was happening while blushing like crazy.. They didn't need to understand it, because they had clearly already gotten it!

"Can I have those clothes right there?… They're for my partner here~"

As Hifumi spoke, the saleswoman smiled at y/n and immediately took the clothes, saying they could have tried them on!

Embarrassed, y/n turned to face Hifumi and, after some minutes, they tried those clothes on, blushing while looking at the mirror. Even Hifumi's face turned to be all red, seeing how beautiful y/n looked in those clothes.. Well.. they already were amazing.. they were the most beautiful to his eyes!.. So those clothes were simply helping y/n to highlight their own natural beauty more!

"H-..How do I look..?", y/n blushed and whispered, seeing Hifumi who had his eyes completely open up in surprise. The blonde man smiled sweetly and then kissed them on their lips quickly, before speaking with his loud and adorable voice:

"You're always beautiful, honey~!"

As they left the shop with that gift Hifumi had bought for y/n, both they came back home. It was about 8:30 pm, and Doppo had just called Hifumi to announce that his boss had decided to send him home earlier. As Hifumi told y/n about it, they couldn't help but joked:

"At least once that stupid brat let our sweet husband to have some time free!"

Hifumi laughed and then put his index finger on his nose, taking y/n's hands and looking at their eyes:

"Shhh…!!.. Now we need to surprise him..! Follow me, okay? I have an idea…"

As Hifumi spoke, y/n chuckled and followed him upstairs. They both reached the bedroom and decided to create the perfect atmosphere. They left some flowers on the floor and turned on the TV with a movie ready to be watched. They wore some cozy but adorable clothes and prepared the most comfortable clothing for Doppo as well. Y/n had the best idea and prepared the bath tub with some smelling shampoos and face masks.

"So.. your idea is to cuddle Doppo even with face masks..?! Aww!! I like it!! Let me brush his hair, though!", Hifumi chuckled and helped y/n setting everything.

While they both were in the bathroom, somebody opened the apartment's door downstairs.

"Psss! He's here!!", Hifumi whispered and they both went downstairs. At first they hid behind the corner, wanting to surprise their sweet lover. Doppo had just come back home. He sighed, looking exhausted but, as soon as he smelled the dinner coming from the kitchen, he smiled softly and called for his sweet partners. They both reached him and hugged him tightly, kissing his cheeks: y/n kissed Doppo's left one and Hifumi kissed his right one.

"Happy Valentine's Day, babe!!", they said together while Doppo was weakly giggling happy in response. Soon they all reached the living room and ate the various dishes both Doppo's adorable partners had cooked for him. The red-haired salaryman was feeling so happy he could have also cried.. He felt so lucky again to have those sweet and lovely lovers in his life!

"Everything was delicious, sweethearts!.. T-thank you..!", he said as he finished eating.

"Surprises aren't over yet~!", Hifumi announced as both he and y/n took Doppo's hands and led him upstairs. As they reached the bathroom, Doppo looked surprised and blushed seeing the bath tub ready for him! He could smell lavender's bubble bath and some muck's shampoo too while he could also see some face masks ready on the small white table.

"Let us cuddle you!"

Doppo giggled as Hifumi brushed his wet hair and gently rubbed his ears. He smiled warmly and blushed while in the meantime y/n was putting a face mask on his face, caressing it. As y/n quickly and playfully kissed his lips, he adorably blushed and chuckled too. After some minutes Hifumi dried Doppo's messy red hair, and occasionally kissed his head, while y/n was still cuddling his face after the mask, putting some coconut cream on it. They rubbed his nose against his one, making him blush a little bit. Doppo's heart was beating faster as he realised that both his partners were there for him… only for him! For making him special and appreciated..! For making him feel loved..! It was… perfect..!

The rest of the night passed with they all watching a movie, laying on the bed and cuddling: Hifumi was laying hugging the right part of Doppo's torso… his blonde hair against the red-haired man's chest; while y/n was holding Doppo's hand, hugging him on the left, putting their left hand on his chest and reaching Hifumi's hair. Y/n was occasionally caressing Hifumi's blonde hair or squeezing Doppo's hand, while Doppo was keeping both his partners as close as he could.. softly kissing both when he felt like he needed it.

"Th-This… this is the best Valentine's Day of my entire life..!", he whispered looking at both Hifumi's and y/n's eyes as the movie finished and they turned off the TV.

You sunk down onto the couch beside Hifumi, the large bowl of popcorn still warm in your arms as you snuggled into his side. The movie you had just been watching was now rolling through credits and you were ready for the next one.

“Ahh, that one was so good,” Hifumi said with a smile as he threw an arm around you, pulling you in closer to him. “I think that actor does on of the best versions of Santa Claus,” he added, with a knowing nod. You let out a small chuckle as you brought up a piece of popcorn to Hifumi’s lips and popping it into his mouth.

“Yea, it’s one of my favorites!” you agreed. “But I also really like the one about the reindeer that accidentally gets shipped to a kid for Christmas instead of a puppy and the kid has to raise it,” you said with a smile. The two of you went back and forth for a moment, reminiscing about all of your favorite holiday movies until you both sighed.

“Ah, all of the Christmas movies are so good,” Hifumi mused. “I’m glad it ended up snowing today, it’s nice to have a night in every now and then,” he added, leaning in to kiss your nose before rubbing it cutely against his own. You yelped and laughed as you kissed him back, the two of you playfully teasing each other.

“Fumi! Stop, you’re gonna make me drop the popcorn!” you exclaimed, holding out the bowl defensively. Hifumi grinned and pecked your cheek one last time before sitting back in his seat.

“Alright, fine…but only because you’re holding the food,” he said, challenging you. He grabbed a nearby blanket and smoothed it out over the two of you, wrapping you up in warmth as you nodded haughtily and ate some more popcorn before nodding at the TV.

“We should watch a bad one next…like one of those cheesy holiday Hallmark movies,” you suggested, leaning your head against Hifumi’s shoulder, and gazing up at him as if pleading. He smiled down at you and patted your head lovingly.

“Of course! Despite how cheesy they are, they can still be rather romantic,” he shrugged, pulling out the remote and beginning to flip through all of the Holiday movies.

“I bet we could get some good date ideas from the movie too…they’re always going ice skating or going to a Christmas market or something,” you added. Hifumi tilted his head down at you with surprise.

“That’s actually a pretty good idea,” he said, dramatically. “Okay, we’ll watch this next one and take notes about all of the things they do. That way we’ll have plenty of good date ideas for the rest of the year!”

You both laughed at the silly game you decided to play and you pecked Hifumi on the cheek before nodding happily.

“Alright, let’s do it!”

“I haven’t even touched you,” He mumbled against your inner thigh as his finger slid up the wet crotch of your panties, the motion was barely detectable but still your legs twitched in anticipation, “And you’re already this wet.”

He said it in a matter-of-fact tone almost as if he was just making an observation rather than trying to seduce you but either way, it worked out that way. Hifumi wasn’t really that well versed in dirty talk, but you could swear on every star in the sky that he could make anything sound sexy when he was whispering it against your skin. His hands slid up your hips, fingers hooking around the waistband of your panties and he pulled them down your thighs, kissing the path it follows down to your ankles. He sat back - unbuttoning his dress shirt and tossing it to the floor before climbing over you; his jacket hung neatly on the back of the door, untouched the whole night. 

It was a rare treat - Hifumi taking a night off of work to indulge you to make up for the nights you had to spend without him. Maybe it was a little embarrassing how a make-out session got you so heated to the point where you were aroused to the point of soaking through your panties before he even really touched you. Of course, your embarrassment was lost as Hifumi acknowledged it - a finger brushing against your panties before he asked if he was allowed to look at his little princess. And of course, you couldn’t deny him when he asked like that.

“Be a good girl and spread your legs for me,” He whispered, pressing his lips against yours as he moved one of your legs over his hip - his tongue slipped against yours, happy little noises coming from him as his fingers slipped into you with ease and he pulled back just in time to hear you moan, “You ready for me, Princess?”

hifumi and doppo eventually getting out of the city and living together (married, obviously) in a small cottage or tiny house in the country and just living each day to the fullest. doppo goes out and picks flowers for hifumi, not even remembering what it was like when he was so stressed out and couldn’t see straight. he finally gets to breathe, to do what he wants without being bossed around. no deadlines, no coworkers, just him and nature. 

hifumi watches doppo from the window sometimes, silently. he falls deeper in love with each passing glance, every time he gets to see doppo smile, every time he thinks about how much doppo’s grown as a person... they make trips to the city every once in a while to visit jakurai and to see a movie, maybe do some shopping, but they always come back to the countryside.

It was too quiet. Usually, he’d find Doppo asleep in his room, instead he arrived to a hauntingly quiet apartment. Doppo’s room was empty and he heard water flowing inside the locked bathroom.

“He’s probably taking a bath” He smiled, “I have cake for him I hope he finishes soon”

But something suddenly felt wrong. His eyes trained down to the floor. There was water leaking out… And a faint smell of rust.

He felt the impact of the door before he thought of anything. He rammed the door with his shoulder with all his might, crying desperately for his best friend to open the door.

“What’s going on?!” He heard that familiar voice, one he usually heard when he’s in his host attire.

He looked back and saw (Name), one of Doppo’s work friends that he actually liked the company of, given that he was in his host clothes.

Seeing the desperation in Hifumi’s face mixed with the small amount of fear, she pieced what was going on before he even spoke.

“Doppo… Please”

(Name) then saw red and ran inside the room and destroyed the knob with the first heavy thing she got her hands on. She then threw the door open and revealed a dishiveled Doppo, in his work clothes, save for his black blazer, neck deep in pale red water in the tub and his wrists and arms littered with cuts.

“DOPPO!” They both yelled as they ran to his already unconscious form.

It was a blur. He felt himself carrying Doppo to(Name)‘s car with her. He felt her driving at breakneck speed to the Shinjuku Central hospital. He felt them take Doppo into the ER and try to save him.

It as too much. It hurts.

“Doppo-kun lost a lot of blood but he’s stable, he’ll be fine” Jakurai told(Name), his cool voice failing to mask his worry, “But I’m also worried about you and Hifumi-kun”

“We’ll be ok sensei” he heard(Name) replied shakily, “I’ll make sure Hifumi will be alright”

“But I’m surprised he made it here with you without his host clothes” Jakurai pondered, “He must be very shocked”

Sighing, Jakurai walked to Hafumi, who was sitting on the plastic chairs next to the surgery room. He was still slightly damp with water and stained by Doppo’s blood. He then knelt infront of him and placed a hand on his shoulder making Hifumi look up.

“Hifumi-kun, Doppo-kun will be fine but I need you to be strong so he can come back to you alright?”

He nodded slowly and then looked up to(Name).

“T-Thank yoou” he squeaked, his voice shaking.

A male nurse then walked to Jakurai and exchanged a few words with him. Meanwhile,(Name) sat next to Hifumi.

He didn’t flinch.

She slowly placed a hand on his back.

“He’ll be fine Hifumi… Let’s get you home first alright? We can visit Doppo tomorrow”(Name) said soothingly, surprised that he wasn’t afraid of her.

He was still a bit numb but he doesn’t want her to leave yet. He felt her lead him to her car and back to his apartment. She rushed him to his room, bypassing Doppo’s room.

“Don’t go yet… I can’t…” He whimpered, a bit unsure of hat he’s asking.

Unexpected (Drabble)

Miho took a step off the scale and wrote down the number that it had given her.

40.6 kilograms…

She leaned into the counter and sighed. Since the night Jakurai had made that comment to her, she had been seeking help from him for tips on gaining back everything she had lost. While he has become her friend and was helping her often with ways to gain weight, it was a struggle.

She hung her head in irritation.

“It’s been almost two months… I’ve only gained about half a kilogram…”

She looked up at herself in the mirror, her eye bags prominent. She didn’t know how to take any of this. People only knew of her weight struggle, but it was a benefit to her that they didn’t know the other. Family was of greater concern to her, she didn’t want attention on herself.

Instead of focusing on her thoughts, she changed them to get ready for the game night Hifumi had insisted on. It was rare for everyone in Matenrou to have time off around the same time, and with Miho’s open days, she was invited over as well. With her top drawer opened, Miho pulled out her everyday essentials for makeup and applying it on, all the tiredness in her face seeming to disappear as it was hidden with concealer and foundation.

After her usual process, Miho added on the final touch, a small dust of highlighter. She then proceeded to put on a jacket and grab her purse before leaving her apartment and locking it up.

“Ron,” Doppo said it quietly before folding his tiles flat down on the table to show his hand.

Everyone looked at his tiles and then at the tile Jakurai had just discarded. The tile was true, Doppo had won this round.

Miho stretched back slightly and also her arms in front of her. “Now you have a winning streak of four.”

Doppo nodded his head. “I must have good luck recently. Two days in a row off from work and I’m winning most of these games.”

“Maybe we should play something else!” Hifumi spoke.

“Are you getting tired of mahjong?” Miho asked.

Hifumi nodded his head and kept his gaze away from Miho. “A bit… Plus I found this one game in the store a few days back. It’s an American game.”

The three looked at Hifumi with questioning looks, all of them concerned of what game it could be.

“It is something we can all play and understand, correct? If it’s completely in English, it’s going to be difficult.” Jakurai commented.

Hifumi smiled. “It looks like it’s easy. It’s a colorful card game called Uno.”

Doppo squinted his eyes and studied Hifumi’s face. “Hifumi, isn’t the word ‘uno’ a Spanish word?”

Hifumi shrugged his shoulders and started to pick up the tiles on the table, paying no mind to Doppo and Miho getting up. While Hifumi cleaned up, they thought best to get drinks for the group.

“Sensei probably wants more water,” Doppo spoke as he grabbed the glasses from the cabinet. “Do you want the same thing again?”

“Eh…” Miho thought for a moment. “If you have orange juice, is it okay if I mix it?”

“You can, but don’t drink too much to where you have to spend the night. I don’t want Hifumi screaming when he sees you on the couch again.”

“I won’t.” Miho went to get the orange juice from the fridge. “What did you want?”

“I’ll just have plain orange juice.” Doppo took over the spot in front of the fridge as Miho moved out of the way with both the orange juice and the bottle of sake Hifumi had opened earlier that night.

“Izanami,” Miho called to him, “What do you want to drink?”

“Some sake please!”

The response made both Doppo and Miho look at one another.

“Better watch out for two of us tonight now,” Miho quietly joked.

They continued to pour the drinks. When the glass of sake was set down next to the water, Miho went to pour Doppo’s drink. Doppo moved them to the edge of the counter and waited for Miho to finish his.

“I’ll make yours, why not take theirs to the table?”

Miho nodded her head and said, “Sure.” She picked up the glasses, still assuming the sake was on the same side as she had placed it.

Both drinks were set down for the two men at the table before she took her seat. Doppo was soon at the table himself and set the other two drinks down. The table was clear, save the drinks. Now it was time to understand what Uno was.

“Please tell me you know the rules, Hifumi…” Doppo said.

“Hold on! I’m pulling them up now!” Hifumi looked at his phone, reading the rules there. “Alright, so it goes like this…”

Everyone was enjoying the game, sometimes little insults being thrown as reverse cards, wild cards, skips, or drawing cards were placed down. The one fallen victim to many of the drawing cards had been Jakurai, many of the ones him having to pull being from Hifumi. Like in the games of mahjong they had played, Doppo had the least amount of cards. He was close to winning. All the entertainment had actually prevented them from paying attention to their drinks.

It was Doppo’s turn after Miho had placed a red card down. He was quick to discard a red one after her. “Uno.”

“Seriously…?” Hifumi looked at Doppo in shock. “Are you not going to let any of us win tonight?”

“Hifumi, it is your turn,” Jakurai commented.

Hifumi looked down to see the color was now green. “Darn it, now I can’t play my card.”

“Was it to put a skip or draw two on me?” Miho questioned.

Hifumi didn’t respond and set his own green card down on the deck. Miho set her own green one down right after. Doppo then set his last card down on top.

“I’m out.”

Everyone set their cards down, Jakurai’s almost going everywhere from how large it was. From seeing everyone’s hand, it was evident Doppo was the only one close to winning.

“Well, how about a cheers for Doppo’s luck?” Miho asked.

They all agreed and grabbed their drinks, all four rims close to one another.

“For the amazing luck Doppo has gotten today! This is truly one of the greatest days for you!” Hifumi said excitedly.

The four of them clinked their glasses before all taking it to their lips. Miho watched as she saw Hifumi down his, expecting an immediate drunken state, but it never came.

“Izanami, how are you able to…” The sound of a hiccup made Miho trail off.

Doppo and Hifumi had their eyes locked on Jakurai, panic set on their faces. Jakurai had only taken a sip, yet he was already in the same drunken state as he was last time this incident had occurred.

“No no no...  The drinks got mixed!” Doppo got up immediately and grabbed Miho. He was quick to lift her off of her feet and cover her eyes. “You don’t want to see the terror Sensei causes like this.” He rushed her into his room quickly and shut the door before returning to Hifumi and Jakurai.

While Miho listened to her cousin, she kept her ear pressed against the door. Jakurai was yelling and he seemed very angry. Just what was going on?!

“I’m sorry, Hifumi… I got the drinks mixed up.” Doppo started rushing for what he needed to prepare for the hell already starting.

“Some things are unexpected…” Hifumi spoke. “Let’s just try to get him under control!”

I was working in the club as a host, always looking around confidently to all the guests.

My eyes sparkled and my lips always curving in smiles and smirks as my look faced women. Women... Behind that mask of the best host in Shinjuku... Actually I've always feared them.. I couldn't imagine myself even talking to a woman without wearing my suit.. My suit.. It was what gave me the courage enough to even look to women without shaking in fear..

Oh well.. At least I thought so..

Some previous months I had met someone.. A woman who was completely different from the others.. As if I had managed to beat my phobia, I talked to her.. I met her.. I knew her in deep..

I fell for her.

Yeah.. I did fall for her. S/o was so beautiful.. So kind-hearted yet so powerful and brave!.. I loved it when she supported me. I loved it each time she helped me, suggesting me ways to get over my phobia. But.. I disappointed her that night.

I had promised her that I wouldn't have worn my suit that night.. That I would have tried to face all the club's female guests without hiding myself behind that suit jacket.. Without hiding my true self. I had promised her that I would have changed myself.

But I failed.

As she could even see, I was wearing that jacket, flirting and smirking to guests, drinking champagne. I didn't know she was there but.. Soon I realized she was watching me. As my eyes met hers, I knew it was the end.

Her eyes looked at me with a hurt expression, sparkling in sadness. She looked so different from the other women even that night. She wasn't wearing a sexy fancy dress, but a simple and cutely elegant dress.. Her curves were well hidden behind that. I could smell her scent even if we were far from each other. My expression changed as I met her disappointed look. She turned her back and started to leave the club immediately after.

I.. I knew I had hurt her.. But.. What did I have to do..?!

As I saw her stepping out, I put that glass of champagne on the table and started to chase after her. I saw her going down the stairs and I followed her, calling her name, begging her to stop walking and to listen to me. As I reached her, I took her wrist gently and spoke:

"S/o... W-wait...!"

Even if I was wearing my suit, I couldn't help but be my true unconfident self with her. I looked at her eyes and I realized that I could see her pain. She was disappointed... How could I have blamed her..? I had broken a promise. I had failed. I was disappointed of myself too... for hurting her.. for deluding her.. for deluding myself.

"Don't... Don't touch me...", she said whispering and I immediately let the grip on her wrist as I saw her walking away. Her shape soon disappeared behind a corner.. I sighed in pain, feeling my heart broken inside my chest, while some women, some guests, were calling my name.

After some days I knew I had to do something for her. I talked even with Doppo and decided to prepare something special for s/o.

"You can get the chance since Valentine's Day is near..!", Doppo told me while typing something on his laptop.. It was probably something for his workplace. While he was on his pc, I was laying on the couch, wearing some casual and cozy clothes. I was looking at the ceiling, remembering about s/o's beautiful features.. About her soothing voice, her gorgeous skin and eyes, her brave personality, her kind heart...

As I kept talking to Doppo, even eventually gazing at my suit, which was on a chair, my best friend soon turned to face me and spoke:

"Hifumi.. Have you ever realized the fact that you aren't confident or flirty with s/o even when you're wearing your suit..?"

Even if it could sound a stupid sentence to someone else, I immediately looked back at Doppo's eyes... I felt like if my best friend was actually a genius.. It... It was true! I wasn't my host-side when I was with s/o, even when wearing my suit jacket.. I had always been my true self with her...

Now I knew what I had to do!

On Valentine's Day, I called s/o and invited her over to my apartment, so we could spend some time together. Since I really loved cooking a lot, I decided even to prepare some delicious dishes and sweets for her, softly humming while baking, wearing a pink apron. I planned the day even in its slightest details, buying even flowers and searching for a sweet movie to watch with her!

What was the main goal of the day? To confess my feelings to her without wearing that damn suit.

I had always had a crush on her, but.. Something had always refrained me to tell her about my feelings. I.. I didn't want her to think that I was deluding her.. Especially if in the meantime I was wearing my suit.

As she rang the doorbell, I immediately opened the door. She looked incredibly beautiful.. Her hair was cutely styled and seemed soft.. her face had some slight make-up on and her clothes fitted her amazingly. My heart skipped a beat at the sound of her voice.

"...hi, Hifumi...", she sounded disappointed, even a little bit resigned as she noticed I was wearing my suit jacket on my pink apron. I confidently took her hand and with a smirk, trying to seem confident, I led her inside, showing her my small but cozy apartment. In the living room the table was full of elegant plates and dishes, all prepared with my full love for her. She couldn't help but blushed and smiled warmly as she saw I even had cooked her favourite dishes!

"Y-you.. You even remembered I liked *insert a favourite dish*!", she chuckled. I smiled confidently, romantically holding her hand.

"Of course, sweetheart..! How could I forget about your favourite food?.."

Even if slightly disappointed because of my suit, s/o took a seat and started eating with me. The lunch was going well as we both kept talking. I was still wearing my suit, trying to seem confident to her, when she spoke again:

"Why you invited me over today...?"

Soon there was silence after her question. To my surprise, even if I was wearing my host suit, I couldn't face her.. I was feeling less confident! In those silent minutes my head started spinning around, my heart racing and my forehead sweating. I couldn't understand what was happening or what was the reason..

After some seconds I stood up though, and did something I couldn't have ever imagine to do: I took off my suit jacket in front of her, blushing, trying to speak even if stuttering..

My voice became less deep.. it changed just like my attitude.. I became my true self in front of her.. My true clumsy, annoying but genuine self..

"I invited you over for Valentine's because.. Because I think I love you, s/o..."

She opened her eyes wide as I confessed my feelings to her.

"It's.. It's true.. Th-this is m-my.. My true self.. M-my genuine self, s/o.. I..- I'm showing you who Izanami Hifumi actually is...!.. Who I am without that mask..!.. Without hiding myself behind that jacket just like a coward...! I.. I love you, s/o..!"

S/o was still looking at me surprised. I could feel that her heart was beating faster.. Just like mine was!

"But.. If I have to love you.. I want to do it without this jacket..! I want to love you with my true-self's heart, without masks on!!"

To her surprise I aggressively threw that suit away. It landed on the couch.. The yellow rose looked a bit ruined. I sighed and faced her again, as I felt my heart racing more. For the first time I did it.. I looked at her eyes.. I blushed sweetly and smiled warmly. Her eyes were shining in happiness as she stood up and approached me, hugging me tightly. I could smell her beautiful scent, feeling her heart beating against my chest.. her sweet and soft skin under my hand.. I felt... Happy and free to love..

His s/o sometimes likes to visit him and when he’s working and hifumis estatic..

When you started dating Hifumi, you knew all about his fear of women and the power of his suit. The obvious shift between his energetic, clumsy, and sometimes brash personality to suave and flirtatious was great enough to catch you off guard every time it happened. Flirting rarely ever earned a reaction other than a swell in your chest about how much you absolutely loved his attempts at seducing you, but once he slipped that suit jacket on and he pressed his lips to your knuckles, calling you his special kitten - god, you could melt. Seeing him in his suit wasn’t a regular occurrence since he didn’t need to wear it around you, but sometimes you would visit the host club on the particularly lonely nights and he would greet you with a flourish that would make you blush as you fought that urge to hide your face in your hands. While it probably wasn’t good for his host image, having his boyfriend come in and him obviously overstepping the normal boundaries of a host, Hifumi was more than happy to see you and take care of you for the night. You both donned a different personality for the night - you’re normal calmness melting away until you were a blushing and bumbling mess as Hifumi buttered you up with flirtatious comments that he wouldn’t tell you if he wasn’t wearing the jacket. You look so handsome, I wish I could eat you up right here! You would cover your face and mumble about how he needed to be more appropriate since you were in public, but he doesn’t mind everyone knowing that he only wants you.

There was a sudden meow coming from the space just beside him, and Hifumi turned to notice the cat that was sitting on the cushion. “Aw, such a cute cat, hello little – ” the cat suddenly jumped up, making Hifumi yelp and stand up from the couch as he ran back into Doppo’s arms.

“Hifumi, please stop,” Doppo begged as he shrugged his friend off of him. “This is Pumpkin…Y/N’s cat,” Doppo explained, walking over to the cat reaching out to the cat and petting it fondly.

“He seems to enjoy your company, Doppo,” Jakurai hummed, taking a seat on the loveseat beside the couch. Doppo shot him a sheepish smile while Hifumi attempted to reach out for the cat once more.

“Here’s some tea,” you chimed in, walking into the room with a tray in hand. You handed each of the men their cup of tea before sitting down beside Doppo. You pulled Pumpkin onto your lap, even though the cat only had eyes for Hifumi who was still trying to reach out and play with it.

“Thank you for inviting us all to dinner, Y/N,” Jakurai said, cordially. You waved him away with a smile and poked Doppo’s arm.

“It’s no problem at all! When I heard that Doppo was in a rap division it was so exciting! And when I found out that you all made it to the finals of the division rap battle, I just had to meet you all! I’m sad that it took so long, but I really want to know how you guys pulled of the win against Mad Trigger Crew!” you exclaimed, glancing back and forth between Jakurai and Hifumi.

Hifumi pulled his hand away from Pumpkin and nodded at you, shooting you a flirtatious wink and crossing his legs.

“It’s flattering that a woman as gorgeous as yourself would pay us such compliments, but really, we should be the ones thanking you,” Hifumi hummed. You tilted your head a bit and were about to question what he meant when Jakurai spoke up.

“Yes, that’s right. Thank you for keeping an eye on Doppo during his hours in the office. We know how hard work can be for him, so we appreciate your efforts,” Jakurai nodded, sipping his tea a bit. Doppo was flushed at this point, cheeks red from embarrassment as he covered his face with a hand.

“Why did this suddenly become about me!? And don’t say things like that! Y/N will think that she has to look after me and take it as her own responsibility. What if she begins to think of it as a chore or an obligation and then never wants to – ” you cut Doppo off with a laugh as you reassuringly put a hand on his arm.

“Doppo, being your friend isn’t a chore,” you said with a smile. Doppo glanced down at his tea, but sighed and gave you a small smile in return. “What is a chore is doing all that paperwork for the higher ups,” you exclaimed, falling back into the couch with a groan. “Don’t they know that we’re people too? How can they expect us to do all of this work in such a short amount of time?”

“Ah, please don’t mention the higher ups, I’m going to be sick…especially if I think about the project next week,” Doppo lamented sadly. He was already starting to pale a bit, so you quickly shook your head.

“Come now, it’s your day off so you shouldn’t be talking about work, right?” Hifumi chimed in. He had grabbed one of the cat toys and although he was facing you, Pumpkin was chasing the toy back and forth as he bobbed it up and down.

“Yes, Hifumi is right. You should take today to relax among friends. Try not to stress out as much as you can,” Jakurai nodded with a gentle smile. His words washed calmly over you and you nodded back at him.

“Doppo, your friends are right! We shouldn’t think about work today. Let’s just enjoy having time off, okay?” you grinned, holding out your pinky to Doppo. He took a sip of his tea before taking a deep breath and nodding.

“Alright…let’s have fun today,” he said, smiling finally as he clasped his pinky with yours, promising to make your day off enjoyable.
