He was tired. So tired, he almost had to drag himself into his own apartment. What Hifumi wouldn’t give to flop into bed and sleep for a week straight. However, he still had work to do tomorrow night, whether he wanted to or not.

Fumbling with his keys, he let out a big yawn as he opened the door. He kicked off his shoes and let his keys fall to the floor. Tomorrow Hifumi could worry about that. For now he was going to grab a snack and crawl into bed.

“Hifumi? Is that you?”

He paused.

“Y/n?”

“In the living room.”

It was then that he noticed you were cuddled up on the couch with two pints of ice cream next to you. Smiling at him, you hold up his favorite ice cream. He swore he could’ve burst into sobs right then and there. Instead, he fell onto the couch next to you.

“You’re the best, you know that?” He mumbled.

Wrapping a blanket around him, you gave him a kind smile. “So I’ve been made aware. But this is nothing. You’ve been working so hard lately. I thought I’d do something special for you.”

“Like I said, the best.”

“Alright, alright, hurry up and eat your ice cream before it melts. I’ll put a show on so you can unwind.”

Taking his pint of ice cream and a spoon, Hifumi tried to stay awake as he watched and ate. But his body was quick to relax in the comfortable atmosphere. His eyes started to slide close and his grip on his spoon began to falter.

It wasn’t much longer, at least to him, when you gently shook his shoulder. “Hey, don’t fall asleep on me now. I won’t be able to bring you to bed.”

He hummed in response. You took his ice cream and spoon and cleaned up the living room as he continued to nod off. When you returned, you took his hand and led him to bed. Even though he leaned against you, he still made it on his own.

Not bothering to change into comfy clothes, he flopped onto the bed and pulled his pillow in close. With a small chuckle, you pulled his blanket up to his chin, causing him to further melt into the comfort of his bed. 

With a tired smile, he whispered, “I love you.”

You replied with a quiet, “I love you too.”

Doctor Jakurai vs Human Jakurai: A Thread

I was writing Home’s next chapter for Jakurai/Ramuda scenes and I came up with an interesting thought that I’d love to see handled in canon.

As someone who shares a likewise profession with Jakurai, I understand how he can calmly focus on the wounds and treat the patient instead of letting his panic/concern about what is going to happen take him over. Doctors have to focus on treatment first, after all, right? It is an emergency.

But Ramuda Amemura has always been the one who shows Jakurai he is so much more than a doctor. So much more than his social status, so much more than the Sensei TM figure everybody admires and expects solutions from. Even the rebellious characters like Samatoki and I-do-what-I-want characters like Ichiro respect when it comes to Jakurai and think he Must Know Things. His team members, while I know it’s due loving respect, call him Sensei and not his name. Ramuda is one of the few people who are on first name basis with him without any sensei added— and that has been that way since TDD, so we can’t say he was not adding sensei out of spite. In fact, he only calls Jakurai ~ s e n s e i ~ when he is annoyed with him. Ramuda seems to be painfully aware of Jakurai’s savior complex and he slaps him on face with these type of additions, though I doubt Jakurai realizes that (yet).

Anyway, for the scene in Home, Ramuda is severely injured. While writing, I just thought— what if Jakurai’s brain just stops? Because that’s usually the case with Ramuda. Ramuda makes Jakurai do crazy things and encourages his chaotic side, Ramuda calls him on first name basis, Ramuda does not idolize him to he a Great Sensei, to him he’s Just Jakurai— being a Great Sensei is a part of him, but it is not him. There is something so much more, so much valuable that is Jakurai as a whole, rather than who he can save or what he can provide. At least that’s what I hope to believe.

So, now— when Ramuda is severely injured. I thought Jakurai might have gone really clumsy in his treatment, his hands would shake— he would be overwhelmed by intense panic because it is Ramuda for god’s sake, not a random person (I’m sorry for the pun). I won’t elaborate it here since I’ll be posting it soon anyway but… Just for the context of it. Jakurai and Ramuda’s bond is so fucking beautiful and it gets me every time, both in canon and fan-made content. So lucky to have known them.

I wanted to write the third chapter of The Hifumi Izanami Case (or HIC)

I realized that I just re-write Chapter 2: The Dirt again and I kinda like this version so much more. The language might change over the story (I am experimenting with my writing style) but I am so excited to share this story with you. I would be so happy if you join me in this adventure.

The Hifumi Izanami Case is like a side story of our story, Home (ALL STARS). It can be read completely seperately and it will kinda break up from Home at some point.

Doppo was so in love with Hifumi when they were in middle-school. They became sweethearts for a short period of time; Hifumi vanish and everyone believes that he ran away. Except Doppo. He knows Hifumi better than anyone. He start to search Hifumi all by his own until he meet with a nerd soon-to-be a police officer, Iruma-kun. Iruma-kun start to help Doppo to find oh so famous Izanami and they become friends. Or maybe more than just friends?

In Home, there are some implications about Hifumi's dissapparence and I wanted to write this base on that idea. Hope to see you!

My name is Kannonzaka Doppo, I'm just an ordinary elementary student like any other. There's usually nobody around me since I'm easily nervous around people and so they call me weird

I can't argue with that though, I admit that I'm weird too, I couldn't help to avoid eye contact with people sometimes and that really irritates people

Cant help with that, I don't really care that much anymore, cause that's what I am, a weird and easily anxious person

Usually, a person like me doesn't really attract any people to interact with me

But for the situation right now... Kinda makes me feel a bit anxious...

I could feel the hot stare behind me without even turning my back , i guess I'm being heavily stared right now.. what are they going to do to me...

I gulped, moving faster than usual, I tried to escape the stare as hard as I can , but the stare still stays.. did they follow me ? Ugh..why do I have to deal with this...

"Doppo! Right?"

Suddenly a voice came from the back startled me as I can feel my heart almost flew out of my body

Slowly, I turned my head backwards as i used my whole courage and answered the random voice back

" y-y-y-yes?"

Oh..? It's.. a familiar look..,

His blonde hair and green strands definitely reminded me of someone, and that cheeky smile...

Ah , I remember now, this person right in front of me is one of my classmates , whose personality is absolutely different from mine

" I'm sorry! Don't punch me!, I- u- I'm not worth punching!!"

Words spat out from my lips before I even knew it, I even covered myself with both of my arms in case he really did punch me

" punch? AHAHA! Why would I do that! You're a funny one! '

Hey- he just placed his arm around me??? Uh-?? Oh what should I do, he's laughing what should I do what should I do...

" s-sorry.. oh okay.."

I muttered, awfully uncomfortable about what is happening right now.. I can't tell if he's carefree or he's plotting something...

.. wait if it's izanami that's behind me the whole time, then why the staring...?

HE DEFINITELY PLOTTED SOMETHING

I flinched, trying to push his arm away but whenever it's gonna fall, he'd just place it back!!

..sob.. whats gonna happen to me...

" hehe, maybe you're just misunderstanding, I'm just staring at your nametag hanging on your bag, and you thought I was a biig- bully! AHAHA that is just soo funny"

He laughs as he lets his arm off of me and placed both of his arms behind his head , still hanging a smile on his face

Wait.. nametag?

I turned my head down to see the nametag that's been hanging on my bag

So.. that's why.. haa- what a relief-

I let out a soft sigh out , and patted my self on the shoulder, praising myself for getting through whatever just happened

" anyways- doppo! It's fine that I call you that right? I'm Hifumi izanami! You can just call me hifumin!! "

Said the boy that has been smiling this whole time as he took out his hand , implying me to take out mine too

" uh.. Izanami.. n-nice to meet you"

Just to make things end quicker, I took out my hand and hold on his hand in return real quick

" hehe! I told you you can just call me hifumi! Ahaha! I just know that we're gonna be best Bros!"

Huh?

Before I knew it, I was forcefully pulled by Izanami towards him as he placed his arm on my shoulder again

But that's not important isn't it? What did he said?

Clients give gifts. Hosts get gifts. That’s just the way it always works. 

Hosts don’t give gifts. Why would they? It’s a host's job to entertain. They’re the ones being paid to use up some time. They’re the ones on the clock- the one who is just trying to make a living with the talents they have, right then and there. Why should they spend their hard-earned paycheck on a customer? Get paid only to turn it around days later and find a way to pay back their employer?

That’s why there’s absolutely no reason why he should be in this expensive, high-end jewelry store, shopping for two pairs of earrings.

One for him...and a matching set for his favorite customer…

He thought the idea would be cute.

Sue him.

Sighing, he shifted his weight on his feet, leaning more and more onto the glass display case. His head rested on his palm tiredly, as his normally cheery persona had ebbed away to something calmer and pacified. He was starting to feel a little antsy, and the attention on him wasn’t exactly helping.

 But he was on a mission! He had been at this for hours now and it’s been a little disheartening. Four stores already and nothing came close to his standards. Sure, there were tons of cute pairs, but that’s not what he wanted. 

He needed something special. No- beyond special. 

He needed something for her.

As her picture appeared in his mind, he couldn’t help but feel flustered. His cheeks were turning an embarrassing shade of red as he felt his heart race. Some host he was, huh? Getting excited like a puppy and crushing over a girl, when it was against the rules to have a preference in customers. But he couldn’t help it. The feeling was too strong and he was in too deep. There was no way to fight against it or prevent it from happening. 

Besides, it feels nice.

 She had been his favorite for a while now. She’s always been, really. But it wasn’t her generous tips that left him feeling giddy at the sound of her voice. Nor was it the delicious desserts she would bring to cheer him up when he was feeling down that got him to all but skip to work. It was beyond that. 

From the day they met, he realized just how comfortable she made him feel. Any wall he had broken down almost instantly. His line of work doesn’t always allow for deep, genuine connection on both ends, but somehow it felt completely and utterly right with her.  But she never pushed him beyond his limits. She never invaded. She always waited until she was asked, and he never had a problem with asking her to step into his world. It was the sort of safety and vulnerability he didn’t think he could ever have with a girl- and it came suddenly and unexpectedly. 

His eyes trailed over the room slowly, taking in the appearance of the other shoppers before settling on his own expression in a small table mirror. Instantly, his eyes caught on the sight of his infamous jacket. Another sigh tore its way through his throat as his eyes opened and closed tiredly. The store attendant should be back soon with a rare set that hasn’t been released soon. But the thought slips his mind for a second as his eyes fall back onto his jacket.

Maybe… just maybe… the next time he sees her, he’ll consider wearing his jacket off the shoulder. Just a little, anyway. It’s not much, but he won’t know until he tries it. And besides… something is telling him that she’s the right girl to try it with.

His eyes slip close again. He smiles. 

Yeah… Maybe.
