Writers Wrap
(ty for the tag @demonicfaerie 💛 I am late to the game but hehehooha ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°))
Favorite Story you've worked on this year: i have no clue lol, Derek's Kumquat probably? Technically i worked on it dec 2023 & posted jan 2024 so idk if it counts as this year LOL, it was originally my fic idea for sterekreversechallenges' Sterek 1000 Cakes Challenge based on the word prompt 'kumquat' but the plotbunny was too fat for me to write in time 😂 I've reread it many times & like to laugh at the dumb kumquat puns & jokes everytime when I do 🤣 (also ofc the smut is peak 🤌)
Favorite character you've written this year: Stiles or Derek! Idk which though - Stiles is funner & easier to write for me in the sense that i tend to write him a bit rambly/there's more of a lighthearted tone to his inner monolgues/thoughts, but I actually relate to Derek a lot so depending on the fic, writing Derek's depression & struggles always feels cathartic to me, especially since I'm often in the midst of one of my fat depresso™️ waves when I write those fics LMAO 🤣
Favorite scene you've worked on this year: uhhhhh 👁👄👁 tbh i have the memory of a peanut - aka i dont remember shit unless i just finished writing it LMAO also i have fav scenes in most of my fics so imma just cop out on this 🤣
Favorite piece of inspiration you've used this year: uh do people count as inspiration LOL i shan't tag anyone, but renmackree my love always inspires me 💛 & posts from hotgirlstiles & kittykatstiles always get my sterek engine revving ahaha 🌝 i did try out songfics for the first time this year (which i heard are easier to write but honestly i find them challenging?? LMAO)
Favorite line or lines written this year: my peanut memory is failing me once more lmao 💀 but i will try, ummmm lemme pick lines/scenes from a fic i havent mentioned in my ao3 wrapped either - "You're my god"
*2 hrs later* i got sidetracked rereading it lmfao
He tore a scroll just as Theo opened a wooden box, and Stiles came face to face with an old friend. A thrill ran down his spine. "Ah," he said with a smile as runes flowed from the scroll to the earth. "It's you. It's been a long time since you possessed me." The nogitsune blanched, if that was possible. "You—! It can't be!" Stiles laughed, finally standing up from where he'd sat behind Derek as he pulled his bat out of a swirl of wind. "I end all things that begin, but have no end. What am I?" The nogitsune took a step back, then another. Stiles strolled forward. "I end all things that begin, but have no end," he repeated, tapping his bat against his shoulder. "What am I?" Theo took one look between Stiles' smile and the retreating nogitsune and tried to escape—Scott pinned him down to the ground with a conflicted grimace. "C'mon now," said Stiles as Derek came to stand beside him on the porch, slashing down the wall of earth one of the gods conjured with a flick of a claw. "I thought you loved riddles." He slashed his palm, ichor spreading over his bat, and the nogitsune froze. "I end all things that begin, but have no end," he spoke, winds blowing. "What am I?" The nogitsune tried to flee, the winds blocked their way. They turned back towards Stiles. "Death," they said, and Stiles slammed a hole out of their side with a booming crack of his bat.
--
Heat radiated in thrumming, scorching waves as the blazing sphere of fire descended on him, and he waited for the last second, when all eyes would be on him, to open the crack once again; he waited for his skin to begin burning, smoking, to clench his fist with a resounding cra— Nothing but cold, cold air touched him. No breeze, no smoke, no fire. All he saw before him were clouds and for a moment, he thought that he'd been sealed away, until he noticed that the other gods still stood there, silent, staring at the clouds as well. The thin clatter of an arrow dipped in liquid violet shot by Hoderi, God of the Sea, broke and fell to Derek's feet, an echoing pindrop amongst the speechless hush. It was only when Stiles' arms wrapped around him that he realized. The entire top half of the chamber had disappeared. Clouds stretched out before them past the razor sharp edges of the shortened walls, cut in a single slash so quick and clean that it cleaved through the walls in a soundless sweep like butter without anyone noticing until after the fact. And the cause of it floated behind him, arms looped around his neck—one hand lifted to cut an ichor-tinged line through the air, and Hoderi's head rolled to the floor. What remained of the chamber roared back to life. Attacks rained on them, but Derek just stared at the way Stiles' wet eyes blazed as the skies darkened and the clouds thundered with vengeful rage. Tears mixed with ichor left gold-tinged tracks on Stiles' cheeks, and maybe it was because Derek's vision darkened around the edges or because his body couldn't feel anything past the poison throbbing through his veins, but he brushed his lips against Stiles' face to kiss the tear tracks away, a barely there graze.
god sterek au my beloved
Written piece or accomplishment this year: all my fics are accomplishments to me ngl LOL the longer fics take more time & effort ofc but the shorter ones present a diff challenge 💛 is that a cop out answer lmao? the feral wind that lit him ablaze is the obvious one aside from Derek's Kumquat, but i'll also stick my 1st songfic golden hour here & "You're my god" bc the latter had a month deadline & I wrote that whole month & still had to cramwrite my ass off....LMAO 😭 totally my fault though for deciding to do god au worldbuilding for it frnjekfen
no specific tags, just an open tag from me if anyone wants to do it bc im late as shit & probs everyone has done this already LMAO

Princess Konohanasakuya is a revered goddess first mentioned in the Kojiki, Japan’s oldest existing chronicle, compiled in the early 8th century. Her name, which means “blossoming flower,” symbolizes her legendary beauty, likened to that of a blooming konohana (cherry blossom). She is the daughter of Ooyamatsumi-no-kami, the mountain god, and the wife of Ninigi-no-mikoto, grandson of the sun goddess Amaterasu-oomi-kami. Together, they had three sons: Hoderi-no-mikoto (also known as Umisachihiko, or Prince of Marine Blessings), Hosuseri-no-mikoto, and Hoori-no-mikoto (also called Yamasachihiko, or Prince of Mountain Blessings).
Venerated as the goddess of spring and easy childbirth, Konohanasakuya embodies the life-giving power of blooming flowers and renewal. In this painting, she is portrayed seated gracefully in a field alive with the plants of spring—cherry blossoms, dandelions, ferns, and horsetails—dressed in flowing white robes. Her figure radiates a sense of mystery and sensuality, enriched by an air of elegance. Grape leaves woven into her hair serve as symbols of fertility, further emphasizing her divine role as a bringer of life and natural abundance.

Legends and myths about trees
Legendary tree deities (12)
Konohananosakuya-bime - Goddess of the cherry tree in Japanese mythology
Konohananosakuya-bime (Ref) is worshipped as the deity of Mt Fuji and her beauty as a symbol of cherry blossom.
Daughter of Oyamatsumi-no-kami, a mountain deity; also wife of Ninigi-no-mikoto (Ref2), and mother to the quarreling deities Hoderi and Hoori (Ref3). She had an elder sister named Ishinaga-hime.
Their father, Oyamatsumi, wanted both her and her elder sister to be Ninigi-no-mikoto's wives, but Ninigi married only Kihananosakuya-bime. Because the younger sister was beautiful, but the elder sister was ugly, she was sent back to her father.
According to Oyamatsumi, the younger sister was supposed to bring prosperity like cherry blossoms to the heavenly grandson, while the elder sister was supposed to bring eternal life like a rock. However, Ninigi-no-mikoto's rejection of Ishinaga-hime shortened the Emperor's life span and he soon became just like an ordinary human being.
Konohananosakuya-bime was conceived soon after her marriage, leading Ninigi-no-mikoto to suspect that she was carrying the child of the earthly deity. So she set fire to the maternity house she was in and gave birth safely, believing if a child of Ninigi as the heavenly deity would be born no matter what. The three brothers born at this time were Hoderi-no-mikoto, Hosseri-no-mikoto and Hoori-no-mikoto.

Konoha’s name is an obvious reference to Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of Mount Fuji and all volcanoes in Japan. Her symbol is the cherry blossom and she represents the fragility of human life. The fight of Onoki and Mu against Madara (who is wearing a Konoha’s headband) could be a reference to how Ninigi rejected Iwa-naga and choose to marry her younger sister Konohanasakuya-hime, condemning human lives to be short and fleeting like cherry blossoms, instead of living forever like rocks.
Hashirama's character also includes some references to Hoori, the god of cereals and grains and Konohanasakuya-hime's youngest son. The Ho (火) part of his name means fire, but etymologically, it is a different character pronounced Ho (穂) which means crops, rice. The difficulties Mito had birthing Hashirama's child with the Nine Tails sealed inside her is probably a reference to Toyatama-hime reverting to her true form, a dragon or sea monster, to give birth to Hoori's son. The fight between between Indra and Ashura over their father's inheritance and the fight between Hashirama and Madara over Konoha are foils to the fight between Hoori and his eldest brother Hoderi over their father's gifts. But unlike Hoori, Ashura refuses his brother's demands outright, and Hashirama doesn't spare his brother's life.

The walls outside the building as well as the walls inside of the lobby is filled with white masks with red markings, each shaped like the head of a pokemon. Trainers can buy lucky charms on the island before facing the elite 4 and champion. Each lucky charm grant a different thing, like not getting effected by abilities, not getting effected by status conditions, recieving better aim and not for not fainting as fast. Several groups of guards patrol the sea and the sky regularly to prevent any trainers with seven or less badges to enter the island. A ship will take trainers strong enough to the island. The island is made to strongly resemble zen gardens, to help calm the trainers and help them find their inner strenght before the battles. "Amaterasu"’s room has a old scroll on the furthest back wall with “fire” written on it in red ink, as well as a old time picture of the sun. In each of the 4 corners of the room, in all the elite 4 members and the champion’s room, is a small shrine to each of the legendaries. Small bowls containing food can often be found on the shrines in honor of the legendary pokemon, which the elite 4 and champion pray to for guidence and for good luck in the fight, or for a challenger worthy/strong enough for them. The elite 4 members and the champion's room also have a scroll on one of the walls with pictures of their life on it, as well as a Byōbu/wind wall which hides the pathway leading to the next elite 4 members room and the doorway leading to the champion registration room. All these doorways also has a thick rope with a big bell attached to it on its right side, except for the bell leading the the champion registration room where the rope is attached to a log that must be pushed into the bell, giving it a different sound when the log hits it. It's customary for trainers to ring the bell using the rope, both to tell the trainer in the next room that they are coming their way, to signal the beginning of their challenge through the bell in the lobby, and to tell people in the lobby area that they have defeated the trainer/become the new champion in case of the bell on the doorway leading to the champion registration room. Name: Konohanasakuya ; usually konohana or hana. Age: ageless Gender: female Status: alive
Current location: Japan, Mt Fuji. Birthplace: Japan. Relatives: Oyamatsumi ( father ; deceased ) , Ninigi ( husband ; deceased ) , Hosuseri ( son ; deceased ) , Hoderi ( son ; alive ) , Hoori ( son ; alive ) , Kazuhiko ( son ; deceased ) , Morgan Harvey ( ex-boyfriend ; alive )
sexuality: whatever she wants.
Very general mini bio : konohanasakuya or kono / konohana is the Japanese goddess of life and the princess of flowers, blossoms often appear wherever she treads, and wild flowers bloom when she walks upon greenery. She is also the goddess of mount fuji and all volcanoes. Her father and only parent is the mountain god ohoyamatsumi. she is well known for her furious temper and high intelligence. she also has three sons named hoori, hoderi and hosuseri with her mortal husband ninigi. though the husband and hosuseri have since died. both hoderi and hoori have inherited her fiery temper and are prone to often violent clashes. hosuseri was accidentally killed during one of these spats as he attempted to intervene and stop his brothers from fighting. konohana has never quite forgiven her two remaining sons for this and reminds them of the incident when their tempers begin to rise. additionally, hoori’s grandson was the first emperor of japan.
konohana meets morgan in the late fourteenth century after morgan splits from james for like the 99999th time. morgan’s desire to flee as far as possible from their sadness brings him to the shores of japan. he meets konohana in edo (now tokyo) after some months wandering the country as a strange foreign outcast. the two strike up a relationship swiftly, initially bonding over a distrust of men. konohana was given away in marriage by her father, accused of conceiving her sons with another man, then being cheated on by her husband who did actually conceive with someone else. and the death of her son by her other dumbass sons. morgan on the other hand was abused by both his father and step-father, hunted relentlessly for being a witch by james’ father, and now twice dumped by james.
morgan quickly feels comfortable being both versions of themselves in front of konohana. they be getting it on regularly in both forms. hana helps morgan heal from the loss of james and from their daughter maria deciding she no longer wishes to be dependent on morgan or james. this is a biggie because morgan had given birth to and helped create other children that were of his blood, but he cared little for any of them until maria. his emotional attachment to her is very strong.
the two live together near the bottom of mount fuji in a large pagoda concealed by konohana’s magic. morgans immerses themselves in japanese culture, learning the language, the art and the stories of konohana’s people. he is enraptured by hana’s magic and how she has so much power over peaceful nature as well as destructive nature. he falls hard and fast for her and it becomes an everlasting bond even after they split. hana is always there for morgan and he for her.
the first time morgan experiences hana’s fury is pretty terrifying. she punishes some drunken fools desecrating a shrine dedicated to her on mount fuji. the two men suddenly combust into flames and morgan has never forgotten the anguished cries from her at that moment. though morgan considers her kind enough, she is not one to be crossed, even lucifer might back down from a challenge from konohana. but still, there son kazuhiko is conceived that day and the two are overjoyed during this period, at least for a while.
during hana’s pregnancy a famine spreads throughout edo due to the lack of rain to help the crops grow. this is done on purpose by oyamatsumi who begs a favour of his brother susanoo. susanoo controls the rains, therefore food production relies upon him. oyamatsumi does not approve of his daughter being with a mortal let alone a foreign mortal. and the prediction of them having a child together just enrages him further. so, the famine caused by a lack of rain means that hungry people do not go to shrines and offer praise to the goddess konohana. this causes konohana to become weak for a time and her and morgan’s son is born sickly. kazuhiko makes it till his 4th birthday before his body gives out.
grief stricken by the loss of kazuhiko. morgan and hana are informed by oyamatsumi himself that this is his doing, that kazuhiko is rightfully dead because of his interference. the two mourning parents see complete and utter red. the battle ensues. though morgan helps a great deal. oyamatsumi is eventually struck down by his own daughters consuming fires. unfortunately, a great deal of edo is also burned during this event because the battle is so immense. konohana proclaims herself goddess of the mountains, seas and of war, as was her fathers titles.
after this there is still love between morgan and konahana but morgan is desperately called back to england by bridgette when the witch hunts begin. konohana decides to accompany morgan for a time to see the world and to assist the women who are being wronged. she sees them as her fellow sisters despite them being of different countries. konohana joins in the dispatching of witch hunters with morgan, bridgette, james and maria. she forms a friendship with bridgette during this time which has also lasted until the present.
i am still uncertain what happens to konohana after this point. i need to research it more.
but some points are that she falls gravely ill during the hiroshima and nagasaki bombing because the land becomes so polluted and life suffers greatly. her life is saved by lucifer and maria who come to her aid to heal her.
konohana had always considered herself to be what we know as a feminist and is known for cursing misogynists in japan with “cherry blossom life” meaning that their life will be short and fleeting for their hand in abusing women.
she also supports feminist movements in japan and has even joined in marches to help empower the women with her fiery magic. this has led her to become a professor in gender studies, and she teaches at the university of tokyo on a regular basis. she’s known for being a hard af professor.
i have taken some liberties in this narrative with the mythology of konohansakuya.

Japanese Mythology & Deities
Major Gods in the Chronicles (55)
Hoori-no-mikoto (Firebreaker) ~The tale of Yamasachihiko and Umisachihiko, Part 1
Hoori-no-mikoto, known as Yamasachihiko, was the youngest of three brothers: the eldest was Hoderi-no-mikoto, the Umisachihiko, the second was Hossuseri-no-mikoto, the father was Ninigi-no-mikoto, a descendant of the gods of heaven, and the mother was Konohana-no-Sakuyabime. Although he is regarded as the youngest son, Hoori is the only legitimate offspring.
All three deities were born when Konohanosakuyabime, enraged by Ninigi no Mikoto's suspicion of her chastity, set fire to her maternity home in order to give birth.
Hoderi, as Umisachihiko (a tribe of Hayato people), caught many kinds of fish. Hoori, as Yamasachihiko (a tribe of descendants of the gods), hunted for various kinds of wild animals.
One day, Hoori proposed to his brother Hoderi that they exchange their tools. Hoderi refused three times, but eventually decided to exchange for a short while.
Hoori tried to catch a fish with his brother's fishhook (umi-sachi), but failed to catch a single fish, moreover lost the hook in the sea. His elder brother Hoderi also failed to catch any prey, and tried to have his own tools returned to him, saying: "You cannot have the harvest without your own tools in either mountains or the sea.” When Hoderi told him that he had lost his brother's fishhook, Hoderi blamed Hoderi and took him to task.
Hoori crushed his own special sword of gods and made five hundred, even a thousand fishhooks to pay for it, but Hoderi refused to accept them.
While Hoori was weeping by the sea, Shiotsuchi-no-kami (the god of tides) came to him. When Hoori told him what had happened, Shiotsuchi, the god of tides made a small boat, took Hoori on board and told him to go to the palace of Watatsumi, the god of the sea.
While Hoori was wailing on the seashore, Shiotsuchi-no-kami (the god of tides) came to him. When Hoori told him what had happened, Shiotsuchi made a small boat, took Hoori on board and told him to go to the palace of Watatsumi, the god of the sea.

Naruto’s Cultural and Mythological References
Someone asked me to put all the mythological references in Naruto in one post so they could easily find them. Most of these posts were written by me, but a couple were written by others. I’ll edit this to add more links later.
Sasuke
Amaterasu’s powers are a reference to Agni’s divine weapon.
The symbolism of rain and storms in Sasuke’s character are references to Indra the god of lightning, storms and rain.
Sasuke is Izanagi the god of creation and Itachi is Izanami the goddess of the dead.
Sasuke’s ocular powers, Kagutsuchi, Susanoo and Amateratsu are refrences to the three faces of Agni.
Sasuke stabbing Orochimaru with lighting is a reference to Indra killing the evil serpent Vritra with a thuderbolt.
The fight between Sasuke and Danzo over Itachi’s death mirrors the conflict between Susanoo and Izanagi over Izanami’s death.
Madara and Izuna
Infinite Tsukuyomi and Indra being a god of māyā.
Madara is a foil to Hoderi the god of the bountry of the sea and Konoha was named after Konohanasakuya-hime, the goddess of cherry bloosoms and the fragility of human life.
Madara and the God Tree are references to Indra and the Kalpavriksha, the wish-granting divine tree of life.
Madara was named after Madarakishin the demon god of dancing, entretainment, performance arts and outcasts. Izuna was named after Izunagongen the god of victory and controlling fox spirits to cause disasters.
Madarakishin the dream god.
Possible names for Madara and Izuna’s late siblings and why Izuna is the third son.
Hashirama and Tobirama
Hashirama is a foil to Hoori the god of grains and harvests. Tobirama plays the same role as Hosuseri and is a central or buffer point for opposing forces.
Tobirama and the Edo Tensei are references to Izanagi’s descent to the underworld.
Tobirama is named after the door’s tree, which is used as a talisman to stop evils spirits from getting inside the house.
Itachi
(The post is tagged with the pro and anti Itachi tags because he has both positive and negative mythological references.)
Amaterasu’s capabilities are a reference to Agni’s Astra and Izanami to Manu’s Astra.
