Last year, I made this fun Cactus Christmas Tree because out here in San Diego, in the desert climate, it just seemed apropos. This year, I've been inspired by this same design to make a Desert Christmas Collection. I built upon the Cactus Christmas Tree and added some presents and other Christmasy items like a Santa Hat, then made a seamless pattern. Yesterday, I posted my Christmas Flamingo Illustration and pattern - FalalaLamingo. Keeping with the mid-century, Palm Springs, retro vibe I think I'm going to work on a vintage trailer Illustration and pattern next. I'm working on Desert Holiday Collection in a Palm Springs mid-century style. I just had to include Flamingos in my collection, so I took my flamingos from my previous Illustration and added some fun Christmas elements - one Flamingo tangled in the Christmas lights with a bow on its head and the other Flamingo with reindeer antlers and ornaments. This was a fun illustration to draw. After the Illustration was put together, I created a pattern piece as well.
