I have exciting news! I’m in the Artist Alley for Stuck At Home Con (@sahcon) this year! For those who don’t know, SAHCon is an online convention in Discord with a VR convention center specifically for Homestuck and MSPA! It’s been a dream of mine to participate, and I’m so glad I’m able to this year! It’s on July 22nd, with the showcase the day before, and make sure to go to sahcon.com for more info! In addition, you can use the coupon code SAHCON23 on my Etsy store from July 22 to July 24th for 10% off all Homestuck items in my Etsy store! I hope to see y’all there!

A passing screencap made me realize the phrase "Brotel Rwanda" that closes out the Game Bro review of Sburb is among the first allusions to genocide in Homestuck, so I returned to that section to comb for any structural build up to it -- no dice, afaict. If anything, it draws comparison to the "listless octoroon" remark that punctuates the excerpt we see of Colonel Sassacre's Text, both closing as they do on a shock stab of ethnic animosity. The intro to Wise Guy might also fit here, ending as it does on the (accidental!) amputation of a black trumpeter's finger? My best guess is the racially abrasive shock closers on the embedded narratives serve to raise the question of where similar allusions might lie in their parent narrative -- another path of entry, were we not already in the thick of things
