Going Big: 2024 Grand Wagoneer Heads to the Desert
When the Jeep engineers designed the Grand Wagoneer, they certainly took to heart the well-worn phrase “Go big or go home.” That’s obvious because when you travel in the long wheelbase version of the Stellantis SUV, as Host Jack Nerad did recently, you are definitely going big. And the Grand Wagoneer certainly provides all the comforts of home. The sizable SUV proved to be the perfect answer for…

Honda Cant fix there vehicles!
HONDA, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!! Over the past 15 years, I have purchased $500,000.00 of Honda Products. I have owned several Civic Hybrids, Accords, an Acura MDX, and 4 CR-Vs.  But the best is the 4 Ridgeline pickups I have owned. My last 2 have been Black Editions!  This one, a 2023 has a charging pad and a GPS unit which has never worked. My Ridgeline has been back for service at 4 dealerships in 3 different states!  I have been told they can’t fix either of these parts. I have spent HOURS at dealerships. I have spent hours online and I know there are thousands of you who can’t get a GPS system that properly works or a charging pad. Honda knows about this. But will they compensate us for equipment which we paid for and doesn’t work?  NO! The biggest insult I have is I have been told the GPS system doesn’t understand New Yorkers!! But the GPS is working “properly”. It doesn’t work if it doesn’t understand me or can’t find an address I type in! If you are having a HONDA Problem with the GPS or Charging Pad, write to me below. No need for an RV with these great camping cars
New Post has been published on https://eazycamping.net/no-need-for-an-rv-with-these-great-camping-cars/
No need for an RV with these great camping cars
Consider this the summer in limbo, and not just because we have to bend over backwards to make any plans at all. With summer plans scrambled due to the coronavirus pandemic and more Americans wary of airline travel and hotel stays, it’s time to restore that timeless American adventure and hit the road.
It won’t take an RV or a vacation rental to explore America’s national treasures while still maintaining distance from other Americans. Camping requires some gear—glamping requires an excess—but our list of camper-ready vehicles come from the factory ready for adventure.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica

2021 Chrysler Pacifica, 2020 Chicago Auto Show
2021 Chrysler Pacifica, 2020 Chicago Auto Show
The versatile family hauler can become a cabin on wheels if the weather becomes unbearable. Available now in all-wheel drive, the 2021 Pacifica comes with second- and third-row seats that fold into the floor (the hybrid model does not come with second-row Stow ‘N Go seats). Other vans have heavy, removable seats that become a pain in a pinch, such as during that surprise hail storm or when that shrill animal cry gets closer. And closer. With 140.5 cubic feet of space behind the front seats and room enough to fit four-by-eight sheets of plywood, the Pacifica could fit a full-sized inflatable mattress with just a little squeezing on the side. If that’s not enough space, it can tow up to 3,600 pounds (when a $995 towing package is equipped), good enough to tow everything from recreational toys to small travel trailers.
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
The poster child for the outdoorsman, the predecessor to the do-it-all SUV, the Swiss army knife of cars, the Sultan of Swat, the King of Crash, the Colossus of Clout—you get it, even if you’ve never seen “The Sandlot” or visited Colorado. The Outback is all grown up, and handles suburban outings with the same capability as back-country romps. The low, wide, flat floor, and wide door openings make loading and unloading gear a cinch, and dogs love jumping in and out. Collapsible roof racks with tie downs come standard, as does all-wheel drive and a slew of safety features. Available water-repellent interiors, skid plates, a trailer hitch with 3,500-pound towing capacity and so many aftermarket roof-top tent options make this classic as modern as ever. And it’s the only vehicle on our list that can answer the call of the wild with efficient urban driving.
2020 Honda Ridgeline
2017 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition
2018 Honda Ridgeline
2018 Honda Ridgeline
Any pickup truck could make our list, but since the Ridgeline shares a platform with the Honda Pilot crossover SUV, it’s the smoothest-riding pickup and our pick for an impromptu camper. The truck bed extends from 64 inches to 83 inches with the tailgate down, which is long enough to be a makeshift bed in a pinch. With 50 inches across, a twin mattress could fit, or a full-size could get squeezed by the wheel wells. If not being used as a pillow, the dual-action tailgate swings out to the left for easier bed access and a clever floor locker can double as a cooler. A truck-bed audio system on the RTL-E trim sweetens the deal, and an available bed extender or roof-mounted bike carrier means you can bring along the toys. There are some pretty sweet aftermarket tents that extend over the bed, as well.
2020 Jeep Gladiator

2020 Jeep Gladiator
2020 Jeep Gladiator
Jeep’s mid-size pickup truck, or the Wrangler with a bed, offers all the capability of a Wrangler with the added versatility of a pickup that can tow up to 7,650 pounds. And you can take off the roof and doors for a night under the stars. For off-roaders, the long wheelbase limits its breakover angle compared to the Wrangler, though there are few places that would worry the Gladiator. The 5-foot steel cargo bed might not be the best for sleeping, but the available Trail Rail system with a 115-volt AC outlet and all the Mopar parts means you can equip the Gladiator in a way that tells others: “I’ll sleep when I die.”
2020 Dodge Durango SRT
2018 Dodge Durango SRT first drive
2018 Dodge Durango SRT first drive
2020 Dodge Durango SRT
As much as we love the performance from the 475-hp 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 in the Durango SRT, we prize the three-row SUV here for its towing capacity of up to 8,700 pounds ($1,195 package required), which is the most for any SUV not based on a truck. That’s good enough to tow some 30-foot travel trailers, and when you unhitch it at the campsite you can cruise around the local sights with gusto. Or find a straight to hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Careful on arriving at the campground late or leaving early; the unabashed V-8 rumble might cause your neighbors to enact social distancing in a much more hostile way. It seats six, too, with comfy buckets in the first two rows, so if you had to sleep in the car, you could recline and cocoon yourself in blankets or catch a flick on the rear entertainment center ($1,995). That’s not really camping but at least you’re out of the house.
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
It doesn’t matter that this three-row SUV is nearly old enough to get its own driver’s license, the Land Cruiser is beloved the world over for its rugged capability and SUV versatility. The 381-hp V-8 and truck frame give this heavy 4×4 the kind of off-road confidence expected in a truck but with a boxy body. It seats eight but no one will be happy about that. The third row can never get out of its own way, however, even if it’s split and swung out to rest against the wall. The off-road ready Heritage Edition deletes the third row to seat five, and comes with a mega roof rack coveted by posers and brozers alike. Options are limited but tow hooks, skid plates, mud-and-snow tires, a split liftgate/tailgate, and an integrated hitch capable of towing 8,100 pounds come standard. What it lacks in interior refinement and features, the Land Cruiser makes up for in bona fide go-anywhere capability. It’s not the roomiest if you need to crash in it overnight, but there are so many aftermarket accessories and roof-top tents you may never need to.
2020 Land Rover Defender
2020 Land Rover Defender
2020 Land Rover Defender, 2019 LA Auto Show
2020 Land Rover Defender, 2019 LA Auto Show
Land Rover might be the only brand with an off-road reputation on par with the Land Cruiser, and the return of the boxy Defender two- or four-door SUV puts the British brand firmly back in the bush. Thick bumpers, big wheels, heavy cladding, and a tailgate-mounted spare belie the blend of luxury and rugged finishes found inside, such as a touchscreen, alpine lights, and exposed rivets. The Defender X off-road model has locking center and rear differentials, and all Defenders come with four-wheel drive and 11.5-inches of ground clearance, which is nearly an inch more than a Wrangler. An available jump seat could let you sit three up front to get the best shots on safari, and other options such as a 1.7-gallon water reservoir for cleaning off muddy pets or shoes, an electric winch, or roof and side carriers let you customize your outback adventure. The various “packs” are almost as cool as the Defender itself; the Adventure Pack comes with a seat backpack and integrated air compressor.
2022 Volkswagen Microbus
Volkswagen ID Buzz electric bus concept with 1964 VW Microbus
Like the Defender, the Bus is back. Almost. And when it arrives for 2022 as the ID Buzz or the Electric Bus or whatever it’s going to be called, it will be an all-electric van. Little is known about the reboot of the 60s counterculture icon except that it will be a key part of Volkswagen Group’s plans to build 27 different electric vehicles across all brands. Since most established campgrounds have electricity, finding one with EV chargers is getting easier. Ride on, plug in, drop out.

2023 Honda Pilot Electric Engine, Exterior Colors, Price – In 2023, no one can say for sure the Honda Pilot is going to be a big strike. It is quite likely that it will. Honda Hitomi

I like planes.
Warning: Some technical terms up ahead but the most important one will be mentioned later.
Edit: Found a better photo.
Edit 2: Thanks @iznsfw for finding an even better photo
Tumblr media
A/N-some of technical terms and As per regulation, after the incident of German Wings flight 4U9525, no one is allowed to be alone in the cockpit. (will be useful later)
Families, businessmen, and random tourists crowd around you. The path clears as people give way and stare in awe. Kids are admiring you, dreaming one day of being a pilot just like you.
You stroll down the concourse with your co-pilot by your side; he is very new to the industry, so you have to supervise him on his first long haul journey from Seoul to Singapore. However, there is one thing to note; you are one of the youngest captains in the airline. Your seniors in the airline would always praise your maturity as a pilot despite your age. Number one in the class, and graduated with honors.
But with your age comes a youthful look. Ladies always love a man in uniform; showing off your strips makes them naively fall in love with you. Even to the extent that one night, a couple of local celebrities in Fukuoka led you to a threesome with them. However, it is hard to maintain a relationship when constantly on the move. It is just easier to just have one-night stands where ever you go.
As your co-pilot walks down the jetway with you:
“Sir, do you want me to do the walk around?”
“Sure. I’ll get started with the paperwork.”
Waiting for you at the aircraft is a short blonde wearing her blue-colored uniform.
“Hello, Captain and First officer. I am Hitomi, and I’ll be the purser for the flight.” she looks at you with a grin; it isn’t your first time flying with her, and it is certainly not your last.
You allow your co-pilot enters first, followed by the purser. As you walk behind her, your hand reaches down and gives a nice squeeze of her tiny but soft ass.
She giggles and reaches down to rub your crotch.
Her hand starts stroking the outline, making your cock grow inside your pants. Have some pre-cum leaking and staining your boxers. You have to stop her before anyone would notice.
“Not yet,” gesturing to your oblivious co-pilot.
Instead, she leans into your ear and whispers. “Just tell me when.”
After dropping off his bags at the cockpit, your co-pilot goes out and starts the walk-around, inspecting the physical condition of the airplane.
Sitting down on your seat, you probe the plane’s logbooks and the flight’s manifest to see anything to note. The avionics mechanic comes up on board the plane to hand over the papers for fuel, weight distribution, and any cargo on board—the typical day at the office.
As your co-pilot comes back from the walk-around and goes to his seat:
“I already cleared the gate agent to start boarding. Have you programmed the flight plan yet?” he asks while reading the airport diagram for both Incheon International Airport and Singapore Changi Airport.
“I’m still waiting for the flight release. It should be coming soon.”
A notification pops up on the onboard iPads while Hitomi walks in and asks:
“Hello, would you want coffee before we take off?”
“Give me a flat white.” looking at her with an evil smirk.
“I see. I’ll give yours after we take off.” with getting your hint. “How about you, the First Officer?”
“I’ll just have mine black.” your co-pilot just waving off with his hand, still buried with the litany of documents.
“Very well, I’ll come back for your coffee, and, captain, would you want me to give yours personally?”
“I’ll be waiting.” Giving her an air kiss as she leaves with your co-pilot is ignorant of your relationship.
“Did you get the flight release?”
“Yes, captain, what do you need?”
“Tell me the weather.”
“Clear skies out of Seoul, but light winds as we fly over Busan. Then smooth sailing from there. The original plan would be fine.”
“Okay, I’ll start to program in the flight path.”
Finally, with the finished Pre-flight checklist, a different flight attendant comes in and gives the co-pilot his black coffee and says:
“Captain, boarding is complete. Are we good to close?”
“Yup, we will start the departure procedure.”
“Also, what would you want for dinner?” while handing the small length-wise menu to the both of you.
Looking at it for a second, “Is the beef stew available?”
“Yes, captain and First Officer, what would you like?”
Pausing for a second, meticulously scanning the menu, “The lasagna said it is keto. Does that mean it uses real cheese? I’m lactose intolerant.”
“I don’t think so?” Both you and the flight attendant, looking at each other confused, not even knowing what keto means.
“I guess I’ll have that then.” Both of you return the menu to her.
“Very well, I’ll serve them as soon as we reach cruising altitude.”
As soon as she left, you put on your headset and radio. “Air traffic control, Flight 1029, requesting for startup clearance.”
“Flight 1029, startup clearance granted. Contact Ground control for push-back.”
Your co-pilot begins to start the engines and announces to you:
“Turning on engine one.”
*ENGINE 1 STARTS*
“Turning on engine 2.”
*ENGINE 2 STARTS*
“Parking brake”
“set”
“Fuel quantity”
“check”
“taxi and navigation lights”
“on”
“Instruments display”
“check”
“Okay, captain, let's get this show on the road.”
“Air traffic control, flight 1029 requesting taxi clearance.”
“Flight 1029, Taxi clearance granted. Proceed thru taxiway A and hold at Runway 33L.”
As the plane gets pushed off the ramp by the pushback tractor,
“Captain, do you want to monitor or fly?”
“You’ll fly. I’ll monitor.”
The co-pilot grabs the yoke and taxies the plane to the runway while you check the systems and talk to air-traffic control.
“Air traffic control, flight 1029 holding short on the runway 33L.”
“Flight 1029, are you ready for departure?”
“Air traffic control, Flight 1029, ready for departure.”
“Flight 1029, line-up runway 33L.”
After your co-pilot lines up on the centerline of the runway, with the runway clear, he looks at you, affirming that he is ready to start:
“Air traffic control flight 1029 requesting take-off”
“Flight 1029 take-off clearance granted, contact Seoul departure, have a safe flight.”
You look at your co-pilot and give him the go-ahead to start the take-off procedure. As you both push the throttle together, you call out:
“80 knots….”
“V1……”
“VR……”
“Rotate,” The co-pilot pulling back on the yoke.
“V2….”
“Positive climb. Landing gear.…..UP”
You both look at each other, chuckling, finally on your way to Singapore.
After 1 hour from reaching your cruising altitude of 39,000 ft and eating dinner, Hitomi comes back with your flat white coffee.
“Thank you, Hitomi.”
“Your welcome captain, I’ll be going now.”
“Wait before you go. I need to use the restroom. The lasagna had real cheese!” The co-pilot rushes out of the cockpit, clinging to his butt and going to the restroom, desperately trying to hold it in.
“I guess your flat white coffee will be served.”
Hitomi closes the door then shoves her lips into yours; while she slowly moves down to your neck. You have to look back at the autopilot, making sure that it is turned on. She starts unbuttoning your uniform while you are undoing her dress. As her uniform falls on the floor, you see her pale white skin and toned abs, wearing matching red underwear.
You get off your seat and kneel to kiss Hitomi’s ripped midriff.
"Geez, you have been exercising. I can't even get like this."
While slowly moving down to her crotch and seeing the wet stain on her panties, you move the fabric excitedly to the side to show her tiny unshaven pussy. Proceeding to lick her around the edges, slowly moving around her clitoris.
She tries to cover her mouth to muffle any moans. Her high pitch screams echos around the cockpit.
After lunging deep inside her walls with your tongue, her legs begin to buckle and soon give in to the pleasure. You replace it with a finger, inserting it deep inside her folds, pulling in and out furiously. Looking to see head her heading leaning back, and eyes closed as letting out cries of joy.
Barely able to stand, she tries to grab onto the seats beside her inside the cramped cockpit. Her heavy breathing becomes more frequent as her legs begin to give way. After what felt like hours, your finger vigorously stimulates her walls, forcing it to flood your face with her cum.
Looking down at you with her exhausted look,
"Now it is your turn."
Hitomi pushes you to the deployed jump seat behind you as she kneels before you. She unclasps her red bra freeing the very familiar, almost flat chest that rests between your knees.
Your hands instinctively move down from her fluffy cheeks to her shoulders and finally to her nipples as she undoes your pants, pulling them away from your legs.
Seeing the twitching fully grown shaft underneath your stained boxers, she takes it out and begins to put it inside her mouth. Her tongue does her particular procedure knowing your favorite spots, first the tip, then down the more sensitive parts of your cock.
Your groans become louder due to her technique improving after each encounter with her. As her head begins to bob up and down faster after each second, her hand rubs around your thighs, giving the tingling sensation making your hair stand up and creating goosebumps.
You look down at her soft cheeks while rubbing her hair, her wide eyes connecting with yours. With the satisfied look on your face, she becomes more intense. The joy of knowing her sucking pleases you. Your approval makes her see that she is doing it correctly. Salvia leaks out her lips, being more aggressive with using her hand to help stroke your cock.
She releases her mouth, making a popping sound still stroking it as she moves up onto your lap. Your cock and her pussy are rubbing against each other while your lips collide with hers. Your left hand supported her back while the other would fondle her breast. Her hand moves down on your cock again and continues stroking it slowly, each pump making you reach your climax even closer.
"Slow down; I'm also going to cum."
"We can't let that happen yet."
She lifts her hips and starts aligning the tip of your cock onto the entrance of her pussy. Rubbing it to test if it still can fit. After being ready to insert your cock into her, she drops her body, allowing it to slip into her body. The walls are still too tight to allow much movement at first. But It quickly adapts to your enlarged cock, allowing her body to begin to ride you.
Her soft ass pushes in slowly. Despite all of the nights together, she still can't take in the whole shaft inside her. By assisting her by holding down her shoulders, you can help with steady her pace. The sound of your skins slapping against each other. The rate slowly increases as her natural lubricant allows faster movement. Your heart beats faster as her speed escalates.
Use your left hand to support her back and the right to rub her rear while giving a few slaps in the process. Your lips give kisses all around her body and finally land on her nipples. But trying to ask her in between your groans:
"Where… do…. you …. want….it?"
Stopping for a second to lean in and whisper into your ear. "Anywhere you want."
You lean back in, showing a shocked face. In return, Hitomi smiles and pulls her messy hair away from her face. With her invitation to finish wherever you get in control and smash your hips, making the tempo run even faster than before. The almost non-existent boobs, which you don’t mind, jiggles like a plate of jello during an earthquake. Hitomi almost gives out a defending scream surrounding the cockpit; you shove your hand inside her mouth to keep her quiet. However, she instead licks onto your fingers.
But still not slowing down, as your breathing becomes heavier and panting becomes more frequent, and your climax begins its approach.
"Fuck it! I'll do it inside then."
Your load burst deep inside her womb. Your cock pulsates after the interval of cum gets spewed inside her. Slowing down your breath and wiping the sweat off each other. While still not yet off you, she smacks her mouth on yours, inserting her tongue and biting your lips.
Suddenly, the cockpit door swings wide open.
"Okay, sir. I'm ba-"Your co-pilot looks at you in horror as seeing his senior and the purser naked in front of him, in addition to Hitomi still being penetrated.
"Uhhhhh, do you want me to leave?" looking and pointing out to the door.
After checking him out and seeing a slight bulge growing on his pants, "Do you want some?" Hitomi offers, using her finger to call him to come closer.

Honda is expanding its Civic Type R range with the addition of two new variants: Limited Edition and Sport Line. Building on the dynamic performance capabilities of the standard Type R GT, the new models each offer a different style and performance proposition, further broadening the appeal of Honda's award-winning hatchback.
With the Civic Type R Limited Edition, Honda is unleashing the most extreme version of its renowned high-performance car. Built as the purest expression of Type R to date, the Limited Edition features new lightweight components, a stripped-back interior, enhanced driving dynamics and stand-out styling. Developed with track performance as its core focus, the new Civic Type R Limited Edition has been designed and engineered to be the most dynamic front wheel drive hatchback available. With a stripped-back, driver-focused interior, this is the most extreme version of the iconic Civic Type R ever made. Just 100 will be built for Europe, featuring lightweight flow-formed 20“ forged BBS alloy wheels with Michelin Cup 2 tyres, which are designed for high-speed track driving but still deliver exceptional on-road performance. Modified dampers optimise this new wheel and tyre combination and recalibration of the EPAS offers maximum control and feedback.
To reflect its extrovert nature, an exclusive new colour, ‘Sunlight Yellow’, is introduced for the Civic Type R Limited Edition, along with a dark chrome Civic badge on the back. With the addition of contrasting gloss black paint on the roof, wing mirrors and intake vent on the bonnet, the bold colour scheme reflects Honda’s sporting heritage and ensures the Limited Edition stands out as a unique proposition in the performance hatchback segment.
The Civic Type R Limited Edition’s interior echoes Honda’s sporting bloodline: featuring the iconic red bucket seats and red Alcantara steering wheel complemented by the teardrop gear knob. Each model features a plaque marking the build number of the car.
Continuing its track-focused nature, the infotainment and air conditioning systems are omitted to save weight. Additional weight is saved by reducing sound-deadening materials in the roof, rear hatch panel, front bumper and dashboard. The Limited Edition Type-R is 47kg lighter than a Type R in GT specification. Unlike other brands’ track-focused performance hatchbacks, the Limited Edition retains its rear seats and the everyday usability for which the Civic is renowned.
The new Limited Edition model retains the Type R’s powerful 2.0-litre VTEC Turbo engine. Peak power output is 320PS at 6,500rpm and peak torque is 400Nm from 2,500rpm to 4,500rpm. 0-62mph is achieved in 5.7 seconds. The second new addition to the Type R range is the understated Civic Type R Sport Line, which retains the sporting pedigree and outstanding driving dynamics of the Civic Type R, but with more discreet styling and a more refined ride. Designed to appeal to a customer who seeks a subtler look from their performance hatchback, Sport Line features a low height rear spoiler, 19-inch alloys and an all-black interior, yet retains the outstanding performance that is a trademark of Type R models.
The Type R Sport Line’s most notable departure from the distinctive styling of the regular Civic Type R is a low-deck rear spoiler instead of the high-level wing, giving a subtler silhouette to the car. The Civic Type R Sport Line is also distinguished by a grey accent line which runs along the lower edge of the car.
The Civic Type R Sport Line delivers a more compliant and refined driving experience than its more extreme siblings. New exclusive dark grey 19-inch alloy wheels are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sports 4S tyres with a softer sidewall that enhance on-road comfort, with noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) further improved by additional soundproofing materials in the boot and tailgate. The interior of the new Civic Type R Sport Line retains a performance-focused appeal with a more subtle ambience. Black bucket seats with red stitching are complemented by the new tear drop style gear knob and Alcantara steering wheel. The red stitching is continued throughout the interior, including door panels to reflect Honda’s sporting heritage.
As with the standard Civic Type R, the new Type R Sport Line is equipped with a range of comfort and safety features. The new variant also retains the seven-inch infotainment system, which incorporates DAB radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Adding to the range of colour options, the 2020 Civic Type R GT and Type R Sport Line will be available in a bold new paint finish, Racing Blue.

The Kind of Weird Adventures of Ana Jayanshakar - Episode 01
--------------------------------------------------------
Ancestry.com Doesn’t Tell You Everything
~
“Oh, shoot.”
It was August in London which meant the sun had officially taken its leave and skipped off to Hawaii and rain had staunchly taken up its post. But that never stopped the picketers.
Ana sighed, peering through the overtasked windshield wipers of her Honda Civic. “Dang it.” She flipped her black steering wheel around and pulled dutifully into the nearest parking space. She counted out two quarters and slipped them into the toll machine. Flipping up the hood to her rain jacket, she yanked on her zipper which immediately intertwined with her necklace. (An unremarkable opal-ly gemstone gift from her mother). After one tortured minute, she extricated the fine silver chain and zipped the blue jacket up to her chin. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and strode determinedly down the sidewalks of Finsbury Circus.
“Vote to keep Blackstone in Parliament!”
“Contractors are tearing up Rose Gardens!”
“Funds for the Crystal Palace restoration!”
“Shame on Pear, Inc.!”
Ana sniffled slightly and reached out a hand to pry open the glass doors leading to St. Joseph’s Medical School.
“Miss, do you know you’re an alien?”
That was one she hadn’t heard before. She turned her head and squinted through the rain at a bored green face.
“Do you know you’re an alien?” she asked.
“Yes, miss. Andromedan, to be exact.” In one jade hand dangled what looked like an iPhone if Nikolai Tesla had some say in its production. In his other hand, clad in a warm knit glove, he held an airport pick up sign scrawled with huge Sharpie letters. It simply said “Ana Jayanshakar.”
Ana stared. “That’s my name.”
“Yes, miss. We’ve been looking for you.”
“Why?”
The alien sighed like a teenager explaining to a technologically confused parent what the “Home” button is for the 112th time. “Because you’re an alien, miss. I doubt your maternal figure told you but your paternal figure is an Andromedan from our galaxy. I was given express orders to relay this information to you – “ yawn – “an employer who wishes to remain anonymous.” The last several sentences he rattled off like he had a couple rehearsals.
Ana sniffled again and shifted from one foot to the other. “My dad’s an alien?”
“Yup. Oh! Hold on.” He leaned forward and picked up Ana’s necklace. With one sharp movement, he yanked it off her neck.
“Hey!” Ana was about to protest further but was cut short by a very strange sensation. A sensation similar to when you put on platform shoes for the first time and all your proportions feel out of whack. She glanced down. Ah, that was it. She was at least half a foot taller than before. She pulled her hands out of her pockets. They were a pale green and her nails felt harder and noticeably thicker. Sharp canines descended and poked at her lower lip.
“Well, this is different,” she said.
The alien yawned again. “Quite. I believe your mother figure gave this to you so you could blend in with, erm, humans, as it were. Humans is PC, right?”
Ana raised an eyebrow. “I believe so. What else would we be called?”
“I wasn’t sure. Lately, humans have started to identify as apes, as I recall?”
“Um, well, not exactly.”
“I see. I sincerely apologize.” He handed the necklace back to Ana, metal chain neatly knitting itself back together. “Also, Earth is being invaded in five days. I think you’re the only one who can stop it, according to my information.” He grinned, slightly beast-like but mostly genial, and tossed his sign into a nearby trash can. “The name’s Nark. Have a good one!” He tucked his Tesla-Jobs phone into his pocket and jammed earbuds into his pointed ears before walking off, producing a weird vibration that counted as both a whistle and a hum.
Someone screamed. Ana flinched and hastily pulled her necklace back over her head. Realizing she was very wet, she slid between the university doors and retreated into the dry hallway. She stared out the glass window for two minutes, dripping water onto the grand marble floor. She finally glanced down and fondled her necklace delicately. “That was weird,” she said.
~
At 9 o’clock that evening, Ana stumbled through her apartment door and kicked off her shoes. She ran her fingers through her auburn hair, letting it fall limply around her shoulders, and released an enormous yawn. Even during third year, morning med school was rough on the sleep schedule. She shed her scrubs and hung them in her closet before collapsing face up onto her bed. She blinked at the popcorn ceiling.
“I’m an alien.” She flopped onto her side and creased her brows. Gasping abruptly, she shot back up. Her bangs flipped up and perched awkwardly on the side of her head. “Oh, my gosh. I’m Peter Quill.” Chuckling slightly, she crossed her legs and rested her chin in her hands. “So, I guess Earth is being invaded.” She rocked back and forth uncertainly. “He said I was the only one who could stop it. I wonder if that’s true?” Uncurling her legs, she sat back and stared at her laptop resting on her wooden desk. “Well, if it is…I should do something about it, shouldn’t I?” Shaking her head, she pawed around her nightstand for her glasses and scooched off of the bed. Sitting down on her creaky swivel chair, she opened up her laptop and waited a few seconds for it to stop spooling. The colorful lion adorning Santana’s 1999 album popped to life. Ana pulled up Chrome, already laden with 51 open tabs.
“space pilots with low rates,” she typed.
The next five minutes were interspersed with low grunts of disapproval and some tentative “eeehhhs”. At 9:09, Ana’s finger stilled on her mouse, eyes fixated on the last ad on the list.
“Estelle Livingstone
Holds five records for speed in Milky Way Galaxy. Certified in all classes of ship except for Ethiopian military tanker (still working on that one). Will fly for a ridiculous amount of danger and/or handsome men. Contact at (020) 340 – 418 or McQueen’s Pub in Whitechapel.”
Ana clicked on a fresh tab.
“mcqueens pub whitechapel”
“McQueen’s Pub
11341 Garden Street
Whitechapel, London
Hours of operation: 24 hours”
Ana shut her laptop. She stood up, grabbed her blue rain coat, and shoved her phone inside her pocket. “Here goes,” she said, and shut the door behind her.

Looking at cars is taking up way too much of my time for someone who still has a month until I start working full time
I was looking at Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, and Nissan Rogue but I’ve kinda realized that they’re going to cost a bit and I don’t really need a big suv.
Basically what I want is something with awd and some weight to it so I don’t die in the winter (nurses don’t get to call off or be late when it snows, sick people are 24/7, also throwback to when my preceptor came in one day laughing when it snowed and was like “I spun 180 degrees on the highway on my way here”). Something relatively new, like 2016 or newer, preferably 2017/18, to avoid the wear and maintenance of older cars for a few years.
So I didn’t find any cars (literal small cars) that fit what I want (awd) that I’m interested in, so I’m looking at Mazda CX-3 and Honda HR-V now because they are the smaller, slightly cheaper versions of the CX-5 and CR-V. They are SO similar that it’s hard for me to pick what I like better. Mazda seems prettier and more attractive, but my parents have Honda’s (a pilot and civic) and my dad knows how to do all the maintenance on them (changing brakes, tires, etc). And I know how reliable Honda’s are, my dad has had the Pilot since 2012 and logged 150k miles on it and not a single thing has broken or gone wrong on it (but he’s anticipating things to start soon, PA/northeast US winters are harsh and destroy vehicles). Also that fucking pilot is a god damn TANK, I have seen it slip in the snow ONCE, I’ve driven it through 8 inches of unplowed snow on the highway without a single fucking problem. Mazda is a little more expensive than the Honda, but it’s so pretty. I won’t actually be buying a car for minimum a month and a half, but the cx-3 I’m looking at rn is white on the outside and interior is black leather with red leather accents and it’s gorgeous. Everyone I’ve talked to who has owned a Mazda (my parents had one and mike did too) said they loved theirs, I just don’t have any idea on how they last.
I’ll obviously be looking to own this car for 5-10 years probably? So I’m also really looking at the mileage and the wear the cars already have. I’m also not looking to lease because I don’t like the idea of paying for something that I won’t actually own at the end. I also have suuuuper good credit for some reason (I have no idea why tbh, I think it’s because I have federal and private loans taken out for school that have been open for four years and I use my credit card like a debit card, only spend the money I actually have in my bank account) so I don’t really see myself having a terrible option with payments. I also will have the bug to trade in, I’m not super sure how much they’ll really value it as, but online calculators say about 2k, I could also sell it privately but that’s a dumb hassle. The bug is a special edition one which I always forget, in 2008 they made triple white coupes which is what I have, so it should be worth a bit more plus it’s the highest trim, whatever that is, I always forget the names but it has all the features they offered at the time. That’s the only year they made my car, in 07 they did triple white convertibles. But, the girl who owned the car before me curbed the passenger side a fucking ton so it’s dented, but almost all bugs I see on the road are dented like that too lol. She also burned the plastic dash and the cloth ceiling a bit with cigarettes, so that means it’s not excellent condition (+a bit of rust, thxs PA)
I guess I just have to keep looking, and of course if when the time comes I find a cheaper cx-5 or cr-v, I might go with that. I would also like something more than the base model, I love the sunroof in the bug and the heated leather seats, I also would love another white car to “honor” the bug, I’m too sentimental like that (but when it comes time and if I have to pay 1k+ more, it’s not happening). I guess I’m pretty picky with what I want, but really it boils down to safety, comfort, and price. Also with what’s available, I live in NEPA and the prices are cheaper if I drive down to the Lehigh valley area, but I’m really not looking for a 1.5-2 hour drive one way for a car, but it’s possible if there is a big price difference and there honestly does seem to be (because there is more competition down there for cars). A reliable dealership is a must too, I bought the bug from a guy with two black eyes at a sketch used car place, and while it’s a funny story to tell, you probably won’t get a great car from there. I’m surprised the bug has lasted this long, I say that all the time and I really mean it.
I’m just looking though, but those seem like my best options. I do really like the two small compact SUVs, I think they’re both so gorgeous so that might be what I go with. When the time comes I’ll just have to look again and compare the price, mileage, features, etc.
I think I’ll be plenty sentimental when the time comes to get rid of the bug, assuming nothing major breaks within the next two months and it runs good (which it fucking better because we have replaced so much..). But it’s just incredibly unreliable, I’m honestly a bit anxious about taking my NCLEX because it’s a day both my parents work and they won’t be home if my car decides not to start or do something stupid. There’s no reason/indication that’s going to happen, but it’s still worrying me. Honestly rn everything in the world is worrying me, but I think I’m just stressing myself out (although that acknowledgement doesn’t do a single thing to lessen it).
I’m going to pass my NCLEX, turn 22, start my new job, and get a new car. I just need to relax and it’s so hard. Once I pass my NCLEX I’m going to email some of my favorite professors from college and let them know I’m super grateful to have had them. Partially because I will be falling back on some of them when I need references for NP programs, but also to just personally give them a big thank you. I feel like that’s a nice and good thing to do and probably not something a lot of people would. I was deleted pictures off my phone the other day to free up space (over 2k of screenshots...) and I came across the card I wrote to my preceptor from my internship and I just remembered how thankful I really am for the people who taught me and got me through nursing school and they should get some recognition for forming me into who I am right now, and who I will be for the rest of my life because this was my baseline for my future. I think I’ll be a good nurse, I really hope so.
