Could you elaborate on how do you use overlay layer?

sure! it's pretty straight forward, i sometimes add a layer on top with either this sort of warm orange color (or blue or red or yellow) set on the "overlay" blending mode.. sometimes on "multiply" i just play around with them it's not a very strict process

#not sure how familiar you are with digital art #but it's a pretty common practice #that's how you make colors pop more #this and just taking advantage of your medium aka digital #if you can correct colours with adjustment layers then go for it #ask iztea #some people call this cheating but i think they are unbelievably stupid or snobs #ask iztea: art talk

I think I have rambled about them before so to spare you! A tl;dr version that you can also skip:

Shilva can turn into a dragon. Vikrahm goes on an adventure and meets Pops. Pops is a famous dragonslayer who refuses to tell anyone his name and never collects reward money unless needed at that time. Shilva and Pops get married. They both do not tell Vik his name though so he resorts to a threat and is shocked when it actually works. "I didn't expect to get this far idk what to do now" kinda vibes.

#my characters #tbh the first one was actually drawn during the art stream last night but I didnt post it #i figured i could post it with the big pic and then hate coloring so much i opted for just doodles today #also the siblings just both have purple tongues and fangs and are not vampiric or anything #they just got fangs because i like em aesthetically #vik is such a funny gremlin to me cause he just does not inform anyone he travels with that he is fireproof #and his bff mage buddy specializes in fire magic #and vik is like hey hey can you teach me some fire magic please i think itd be super cool #and he sucks at magic RIP #he barely makes a flicker but it does come in handy once #also when vik says hes gonna play fetch since he can shoot farther its because as kids #he learned how to shoot a bow in order to play long distance fetch with a dragon (his sister)#cause she basically got the zoomies and flying helped soooo long distance fetch #shilva is a bundle of sunshine and i love her #me patting pops on the head - this old man can fit so much trauma in his life #he can take a threat of being called big brother and say that is the straw on the camels back #hes suffered enough dont make him suffer that

i need a drawfee archive that's got every stupid funny moment documented in chronological, alphabetized order for when i spontaneously remember a really obscure bit that i need to find or else i'll explode. i need to be able to type an extremely vague description in a search bar and have it understand me completely.

#slight tangent but a part of me wants to learn how to edit comps just so i can make one of all their parody song bits #theyre so dumb and they bring me such joy #you could prolly get a 20 minute video thats JUST mr brightside references lol #anyway for context #i had a memory of someone drawing the same image twice pop into my head with no prompting whatsoever #all i could remember was that the colors were funky and the images were droopy?? and im 93% sure it was jacob #and it was too off the rails for me to easily link it to a specific challenge or thumbnail #all i knew is that it felt kinda recent so i spent like 20 minutes scrolling the timeline of every video starting 9 months ago #and i did find it! much easier to find when its within a year thank god. its from 'making art out of our worst spam emails'#specifically jacobs section. and id say the 20 minutes was worth it. the duplication and immediate fade in of the render will always send m #so ye go watch it if youve got nothing else to do. help me justify the time cost lol #drawfee #sea rambles

Woe, Pony Town Oncelers be upon ye!! Plus more pony-ified versions with different coat colors ouo

The Onceler always struck me as an earth pony, maybe a mule? I considered giving him longer ears

Both bc of his farming background, in reference to Melvin, and for the idea of making your way to the top through sheer hard work and innovation, not having to rely on any fancy powers!

And he's just so cute- I like how you can see the brown part of his gloves when he lies down ouo

He EEPY, featuring messy wet hair

And the Biggering AU version has his fancy peacock wings!

Biggerler, the man himself! Featuring a little trick that makes it look like he's got those long curly coattails ouo

Also an earth pony! I think the greyscale look really fits him, and that dark marking between his eyes makes him look especially serious

(There is a shark plushie in Pony Town that I would've added in reference to Viktor, but it's one of the Halloween collectables I don't have yet :pensive:)

A note about his neck, you can make things the same color as the in-game grass to create the illusion of it being invisible! So it's like his head is floating ouo

Pony Bitter's got a light green coat with darker ends of his ears, a lighter snout, and mark on his forehead that may or may not be foreshadowing-

And I made him a unicorn! I like the idea that an infected unicorn's magic turns yellow and unstable, so I'm picturing him lashing out at someone and his horn sparks

Which would add extra emphasis to the idea that he's dangerous, and something needs to be done fast.

ROCKYYYYYY- Sporting his skull bandanna and the little star on his goggles and everything! A pegasus this time, since those kinds of classic rock songs tend to use wing imagery

And the markings make him look like a bird ouo

And his second outfit! I looove love love how he goes from a nice blue to this murky blue-green, with the markings turning dull. The fiery wings are a reference to this post!

And lastly, have pony Artic with a little Onceler plushie ouo

#i used to only do those 1:1 human versions since i wasn't sure how to adjust the design and still make it Work #but i think it's going well! im really happy with these ouo #and i like how the style is a little different for each one!#like how biggerler's darker colors and the shine on his hair and hat make for this sharp look that really pops #and bitter has a bunch of gradients and splotches that really make him look bloody and disheveled #and the colors of my onceler are consistent with other parts of the design #so if you change the hair it also affects stuff like the hat and shoes!#onceler #biggering au #biggerler #truffula flu #bitter #rocky #pony town #my nonsense

I got these shoes from someone recently but thought they were way too plain looking, so I set out on a quest to customize them with some sharpies and charms and miscellaneous ribbon I had in my craft drawers. Mostly sky themed (clouds, rainbows, rain, stars, etc.) because that's my favorite aesthetic, but I had to include some cat imagery as well, of course lol.

#also honestly had NO IDEA that real converse have that star logo on the INSIDE not the outer part??? why the hell would you want it on the #inner portion where nobody can see it?? my entire life I always would have sworn it was on the outer facing portion..#I think these would be perfect IF they were just slightly taller (top part higher above ankles instead of just weird hard material digging #right into your ankle whenever you walk) and if they were actual good platforms. they're so short. It's good that 'chunky' shoes are gettin #more popular as they've always been my favorite Look ever since I had these shoes with roller skates that pop out of thebottom (not heelys.#but like. before those. it was two whole entire roller skate wheels like a normal pair of roller skates) and the bottoms were so tall and #clunky and it made my feet look giant (because it had.. entire wheels in the bottom pockets lol). so #I've alwatys been into the aesthetic but . still I find a lot of the 'brands jumping on trend' are too short of platforms #OR they're plafrorms with a raised back/heel/wedge which to me is not aesthetically good and also makes them exceptionally uncomfortable to #wear compared to just plain completely flat chunky platform bottoms. ANYWAY.. if these shoes had a 3 or 4 inch platform I think they'd be #cooler. however for what they are it's still fine! and I like them more now that they actually have some sort of anything to them and #aren't just plain white. The weird thing is that the material it's made out of (maybe some sort of leather or something) absorbs sharpie?#the color changes over time. You draw a mark and then leave it for a few days and it either fades into being barely there or has changed #colors. so I had to go back in and redo parts. ALSO the shoe chains are so funny because I did NOT have the right tools for them #I don't have the stuff to make bracelets or open and close the little rings. they're held onto the shoe with just safety pins and the actua #little rung things that hold the charms on half of them are like broken or the metal is just jam smushed together bent and warped hhbjhjhb #I actually like the back a lot where there's the irridecent star thing hot glued on there. it's cool and shiny. and the clouds #are sparkly on the main parts of the shoe though I'm not sure how well it shows up in pictures #ANYWAY... shoegs..... If I were rich this is one of the things I would definitely custom order from craftsman #why would I spend like thousands of dollars on plain ass shoes that are just expensive because they're a Luxury Brand when I could literall #like pay people to create me custom shoes to my exact specifications?? I could have like 5 inch flat platform boots with fur andclouds #and cat shaped holes in the bottom with LEDs in them with pom pom and charms and etc. etc. etc. Like as gaudy and excessively over #decorated as I want lol.. AND they could have skates in the bottom somehow!! ghjgbhjb #this on top of all the custom wizard costumes and period clothing I would order.. Like i LOVE customizing things. I love everything in my l #life being as particualr as possible and cultivating every experience I have to meticulously meet my own specific criteria as much #as is possible. If I had the money to I would never buy something from a store again. EVERYTHING I owned from furniture to clothing #would be either made by me - or mostly - comissioned from craftsmen. custom tiles for my floors. custom bed. custom table.#even like. custom toilet. custom sinks. etc. etc. ouGGH... but yeah.. anyway... shoes..
