why do people on my posts about gen fic and platonic relationships in fiction always feel the need to clarify that they Love Shipping and Do Specifically Focus On It Often To The Exclusion Of All Else while reblogging those posts. even when they're doing it apologetically like 'oh oops i don't read/write gen fic.... it's great though, it rules!!' it's still like. interesting choice youve made here with this post.

I have lots of opinions about this site’s reaction to the tumblr layoffs & behavior towards new users from Twitter/tiktok & support staff. but for now all I will say is. are we surprised when the user base is actively so antagonistic to the people trying to keep the ship afloat/new users/etc ? websites are not free to host and the money has to come from somewhere and unfortunately the venture capitalist firm that owns this website does not care about the culture. they’re pushing changes to make this shit more marketable

#idk maybe I just have a unique perspective as someone who works in keeping a website afloat #particularly one that was bought by a venture capitalist firm a few years ago and is no longer privately owned #unfortunately it doesn’t matter how great the folks running the show are when they’re beholden to a ceo who is there simply to create #shareholder value #social media is notoriously not profitable. they’re laying off support staff in huge numbers #maybe it’s because I work in digital paid media/advertising but all I can think about #is how little this site must make #feels like we’re on borrowed time unfortunately!!!#will enjoy it while it lasts. but it won’t last forever unless there are major changes

so apparently it's not just ao3 that's been having bot problems, but lots of libraries, archives, and other repositories have spent the past few months with their digital infrastructure being overrun by ai crawler bots

like the OAPEN library

or Wikimedia

#and then bc website owners are trying to guard against this behaviour #it means they're blocking out benign crawlers!!! like from the internet archive trying to do basic digital preservation #and it's making repositories think twice about making stuff open access too!!! bc of the strain on resources AND bc they're custodians #of this data that they may not have full rights to #but tell me again how ai is sooo great for research and sharing knowledge.#she speaks

still thinking about the stan twins being shoehorned into the smart twin and dumb twin roles and how the extreme focus on ford's smarts caused everyone including himself to ignore that he's a prodigy in a bunch of stuff like music and arts

HeadSpace House (Proper Intro)!!!

Hello.. Internet!

I made a simple little website with google sites that i had already posted on here... But i was in a rush making said post-

Sooooo... I wanted to give it a proper introduction!! =D

Here's the link now if you don't wanna read the rest lol:

HeadSpace house is a little "Show" (The eps are read, but i'm calling it a show for some reason?? Yeah, no, I can't really explain this one-) that I've created! I started it at school (Oh, yes, the wonderful school computers that need me to filter out "Bad" words with "@" and "!"s and such-) And then turned it into a whole little project!! =D I had been working on how to get a working website every day in study hall for like a week and then finally did it!!

Exp that it was on my school acc and there was no way to move it to my personal acc.. (Yes, I did straight-up remake the whole thing. It took a few hours.) But I got it done anyways and was able to post it! =D

Now, HeadSpace House is (If you say it before or guessed from the title) About plurality! It's actually about the inside of a girl's head and her headspace and her "Alters" (Typically referred to as the voices-) and their life! = )

It's 100% based off of real life. My life. And I personally LOVE it (I'm biased towards my own work. Who woulda guessed-) I just really hope that you (And all of Tumblr) Likes this little thing I've created, all based on actual things that happened, Or the actual event that happened, no editing.. I really hope that you enjoy it!!!!!!!!! = )

pleasant surprise: I've noticed that picsart finally stopped shoving AI down my throat. for a very long time any time I searched for stickers or a background I'd have to scroll through miles of AI slop to get to anything I would actually want to use. since starting my RE4 mods, there's literally only been one time an AI sticker showed up in a search.

#btw i use a hacked picsart apk to have all the premium stuff for free bc it's a decent enough app but not one i'd pay for #like how hard they pushed ai made me actively despise the app and i'd never give it a cent even tho it's calmed down now lol #the ai background removal tool is great tho. i don't fuck w generative ai but simply removing backgrounds is the kind of thing ai can #actually be good for. and like there were websites/apps w automatic background removal tools before chatgpt was a thing #if ai hadn't become the big Hip Thing it would probably just be called an automatic background remover or smth #deadass there's another eraser app ive been using since like 2017 and it used to have an option called auto and recentlyish they changed it #from auto to ai 💀 literally the same tool they just changed the name for hype #it irrationally annoys me bc it makes me feel like a hypocrite for saying fuck all ai while using a tool w ai in the name...#but it's not THAT ai yknow. im not asking it to create/be creative/whatever. i just let it remove backgrounds bc it's faster than manually #doing it myself. like i COULD remove backgrounds manually if i want to but why would i if i can get the same results way faster #i will never have ai create images or write for me bc the results would be worse than anything i could do. i suck at art but my shitty #playing w pngs like paper dolls edits or my shitty d&d doodles are still better than ai slop

edit: ...alternatively having convos w someone by like. writing a message on the blackboard or sidewalk and then checking later and someone else has added to it while i was away...

Ok i guess.#theres a small artist community in it & its nice how theres always(?) events there #also i *have* made my character articles trust but i unlisted them cuz i got paranoid 🤩#i had art on their galleries and i didnt watermark them lol cuz theyre all art ive posted on my privated art blog #the website lets you watermark all your pics in one go but the watermark rlly covers the center #and it divides the pics into 3x3 portions using lines #would be great if you can just submit your own watermark instead lol. Unless you can & i just havent figured that out.#I'll make more of my ocs there I guess idk

honestly i love that they changed the secret tunnel episode to focus on katara and sokka instead. love comes in more than one form and their sibling duo is so underrated 🫶

OUGH.#atla #katara #sokka #atla spoilers #(?)#edit: i forgot i was on the hater website. everything in the current atla tag is so painfully negative it’s miserable #i actually liked that it wasnt exactly the same as the cartoon. it makes for an interesting watch #it’s definitely not as great as the original but people are so over critical over the minor things #theres certainly parts i didnt enjoy as much but overall it’s like a 7/10 u know?? geez #also some parts were quite funny. and they kept iconic scenes like the cabbages or secret tunnel #i think we need to be more open-minded lol #edit 2: i take that all bad it sucked. it kept going downhill and i was like HOW CAN IT GET WORSE and it got worse
