I'm glad my rant came at the right time because we are most definitely drinking the same koolaid! If you can make something of my ramble then by all means, I will wait patiently. I made this new tumblr to follow you and your stories. But yes, I am constantly living the the Spn!AU with canon or fanon tropes because I think its fun to explore. My intro to spn fanfics were Gen fics like the writer Dodger_Winslow on livejournal and their trove of fics or A Beer Verse by Emma15, just to name a few. I love Dean and also enjoy Dean Whump so that influenced my fanfic search too. And good Outisder!POVs are super fun to find. Eventually, after I felt I read all the good fics I jumped into daddycest because I wanted more stories centered around that relationship and found some wincest that way too. I stayed in the Unrelated!AU realm when exploring both ships at first, but after some time I stopped caring and read anything and everything, related or not. I'm still waiting for Roads by Susurrant and Brother's Blood by Diana_Lucifera to come out of hiatus. I just think the Winchester family is a fun dynamic to explore in all its forms. I read a few Destiel fics early on too, but was always drawn back to the Winchesters so I dont think I've given the Destiel fics a fair chance to explore what that dynamic is about. So I'll check out your fic rec post. I take breaks from spn for periods of time and usually come back in searching for a specific trope- I'm so glad I came back just in time to read your first fic! Shout out to all my fellow multi-shippers who have managed to avoid the bad side of fandom and the ship wars for the most part!

i’m definitely still exploring the wincest realm myself, but i agree, the family dynamics on the whole are just incredibly interesting. never 4get zachariah calling them erotically codependent lol. and i feel like they learned that from SOMEONE *cough*john*cough*. i’ve enjoyed my stumbling attempts at breaking down the dynamics for myself, and i’m excited by all the future possibilities with that. 

there’s some really good destiel out there! there’s also a lot of really mediocre and bad destiel out there! i hope the recs give you a fic or 2 to enjoy, but of course, some ships just aren’t for everyone. i’m glad you jumped back in when you did! spn is def having its renaissance right now. and hell yes to multi-shipping without the drama! we are truly living our best lives.
