The World Tumbles Down Chapter 10 - Old Friends

Wolffe & Plo

AAAAAHHHHHHH WOLFFE!!!! I love him. I love him so much. I am so obsessed with him it isn't even funny. Wolffe brings another personality in but also more clones that our little team can trust. Wolffe and Plo have a great dynamic with the other people in this team. Plo is calm and reassuring while also being wise and steadying. He is a strong presence who would do anything to protect the men he's in charge of. I adore him. He's one of my favorite Jedi. Respect for Plo. Wolffe is a stern man but he certainly isn't unkind. He's tough, demands respect, and does in fact glare at a lot of things. He also has the undying respect of the men under his command. I think if there are people that respect you that much you're probably doing something to earn it. He's a fun one because he won't put up with anyone's shit and no one wants to piss him off. He's so well respected it would be like playing with fire.

Quinlan

His inclusion was completely self indulgent but he also is able to move on Coruscant without any eyes on him. Whoever is behind this we know who is watching them, fed them a false tip, and will notice if they start poking around. He's an outside perspective, sneaky, and so much fun to write. He's got a personality I really enjoy writing. It's fun to put him in the middle of this situation and watch him shine (and have him flirt with Echo). He's a good person to bounce Obi-Wan off of. I give them a childhood bffs vibe that I really enjoy to write. We haven't seen the last of Quinlan Vos <3

Oh, Fox. He's just more and more tied up in this as time goes on. How tied up? We'll find out eventually ;) It makes me sad to watch him get paranoid and hurt as time goes on. He knows something is happening. He knows Cody and company are up to something. He knows he's given them intel. But he is still losing time. The people around him are worried for him and now he's in for even more trouble than he bargained for. I'm excited to keep showing you what's up with him as well as digging deeper into everyone else working on this.

Ritalin, Day 0

Okay, so, I HAVE to revive this blog. Because it is happening. I bit the bullet, basically - four years after getting diagnosed with ADHD, I finally got a prescription for ritalin.

It took so long because the last psychiatrist I went to was an ass. Who only prescribed me Strattera without trying ritalin first, and Strattera didn't work for me and I TOLD HIM and he didn't listen to me and FOR MONTHS things only got worse and worse for me until I flipped my shit and swore to never go to a psychiatrist again.

But now I did, only after getting a recommendation by someone on tumblr who swore that her Psychiatrist was absolutely wonderful. Hella expensive of course. but I have a job and not that many great expenses, so whatever.

I visited her last week, on wednesday, I was so freaking nervous and honestly I barely even had any real hope that she would listen to me. But she did, she was incredibly kind, and she prescried me ritalin, no trouble at all.

But, I had to get an EKG and a blood test. I spent half a day calling around for a cardiologist, no one had an opening before the follow up with the psychiatrist. so close to the finish line and still everything was a hassle. Finally, the last doctor i found on the internet, with a horrendous review rating, would to the test on monday. another 250€ spent but hey. anything for the good drugs.

And that doc wouldn't do the blood test so I went to another place for that, at least it is fairly easy to get an appointment for a quick blood test. And the blood test was free, yay!

So now I have the results, the EKG and heart echo thing was perfecty fine, and the blood test seems ok, too, from what I can tell. Two things are ever-so-slightly out of range, but I doubt that should be a problem.

I emailed the results to the doc yesterday, late night. and since this morning i am freaking tf out because I haven't heard back - I know she's busy and all, but i want to finally knowwwwwww if ritalin works i want to know if it makes life so much lighter for me, like so many other people have said. I have waited for so so so long and now every minute feels like TORTURE AAAAAHHHHHHH i just want to finally know

Since she wrote the script last week already, and I already got the ritalin from the pharmacy, I already have it at home. And it is taking every fibre of my being to not just take the drugs. I want to be a good patient and wait for her true OK but i am not a patient patient.

Making an adhd patient wait is... approximately the worst hell imaginable.

It is now past noon and I have gotten literally nothing done for work. I am working from home today... or rather not working lmao. It would be great if I could take the ritalin and it would just kick me into gear so that I can actually get at least anything done. I called her office at noon but she didn't get to it yet. My brain can't form a thought not related to adhd or ritalin etc, i am a vibrating ball of anxiety, fear, excitement, worry that it won't work after all, feeling kinda nauseous from it all even before taking the meds, and most of all IMPATIENCE i HATE waiting it is the SINGLE WORST THING in the entire world (i am an adult who almost had a meltdown in public while waiting in a queue for an ice cream cone and i had to run away from the queue without getting ice cream even after waiting for several minutes because i would have started crying like a toddler if i had had to wait a second longer - i am not good at waiting, okay)

lost at sea: player’s log 2 and 3

forgot to make a post about last week’s dnd game with my buds, so i’m gonna double up on the posting tonight bc i like our game and i wanna share it, so

- recap: white dragonborn barbarian Beau (me), blind gnome druid Donna, drow rogue Zen’lo, tiefling bard Skamos, and NPC elf? half-elf? ranger Jandar were on a cruise to the island belonging to some big important god, the boat crashed, we wound up stranded on a gnome island and sent on a quest to the god’s mountain, all available in log 1.

LOG 2

- Beau picked up a shield from the gnome town black market weapons trade, since weapons are forbidden in the town. AC went up to 16 i love being a tank

- the party approached the mountain, our gnome guide Ellywick said she couldn’t go in with them, the bard proceeded to launch the gnome into the mountain and violate her religion

- Beau went to intimidate Donna, who cast THE ANIMAL VERSION OF CHARM PERSON the previous week, and I completely flubbed the intimidation roll i’d been thinking about all week. it was a dark moment. i should’ve pressed for advantage given the sneak attack situation i’d created but i didn’t. still haunts me.

- found a creepy drow lady standing at the altar of sylvanus, she spouted some gunk about shadows taking over the seas, stole the red stone oak leaf of sylvanus, and ollied outie, leaving us with a shadow imp and minor shadows to contend with

- the party decimated the shadows much faster than the dm intended

- upon returning to the gnome village, found out the creepy twin rulers who sent us on the quest in the first place had been murdered, which. not that sad about, but still sucks

- the statue of sylvanus in the town hall thingy sprang to life. Beau high-fived a god several times

- sylvanus sent them to the next island to visit the temple of oghma, made a boat, and left the party his bow. dm reveals we’re all getting legendary god weapons on this journey. i am excite.

LOG 3

- the dm’s wife texted us that the dm had forbidden us from naming our boat Boaty McBoatface before even telling us we were naming the boat.

- the boat’s name is Boaty McBoatfacerson, Esquire

- arrived in a bustling port town, immediately split the party on small adventures before reconvening to visit the temple of oghma

- we passed a hut belonging to the priest. the priest is 100% not a joke blazed out of his mind. despite this, he is adamant we can’t go up the mountain to the temple.

- we got past the priest bc Skamos the bard told the very high priest we weren’t real and then rolled an excellent charisma check. the priest chucks his bong and rethinks his life.

- sprinkles the lizard, our animal companion whom we decided has dragonite blood and that’s why he can talk with Beau, has definitely 420 blazed it before despite the fact that he is an iguana

- had a convo with oghma, which boiled down to “there’s a void in this town i don’t have knowledge of, so go investigate it bc the god of knowledge having a hole in his perception is just embarrassing”

- Beau high-fived Oghma directly after he gave our ranger and boat driver his magic compass. This is definitely going to be a trend.

- went to a house that wasn’t real, had a vision of shadows taking over the archipelago we’re exploring and eventually the world, woke up not entirely sure we hadn’t taken the sea glass bong the priest tossed as soon as he was convinced he was hallucinating five people (the bard had it but he refused to enter so no terrifying vision quests for him)

- the party split up again for the night, only wherever we all were, we were overtaken by a magic darkness and spirited off to an inn somewhere in...the Shadow Realm maybe?

- anyway we had to leave it halfway through the fight bc one of us has to be at the airport at six AM tomorrow but we’re picking it up again tomorrow night

PAPA SESSHOUMARU AND I ARE BOTH SO PROUD OF YOU TOWA

In the background of Towa's struggles, we have Moroha and Totosai, and Jaken occasionally? Having a conversation, beating up on Moroha like bullies. Seriously wtf. Is this payback for how often Inuyasha would punch Totosai? This is a 14 year old girl!! Anyway. We get to learn all SORTS of stuff!

Totosai mourns for Tensaiga, and says that Setsuna's naginata wasn't up to snuff. He is also impressed at Towa's abilities. In a single moment of decision, Totosai says he will make a new weapon for Setsuna that is able to handle her blood blade. And then just sits down and makes it??? I wonder if this battle/struggle went on for a while, and is deceptively short for the episode. He doesn't need a Fang or anything I guess, just ash and lapis lazuli powder, and viola! A naginata! He tells Moroha to fight the demons that will appear, which she does, even though there are thousands and she would be overwhelmed without Kirara. MOROHA IS STILL PROTECTING HER COUSINS AND I LOVE IT.

Throughout Towa's struggles to grow the demon blade and save Setsuna, Sesshoumaru is watching with a solid faith in his daughter. This man doesn't flinch, not even when the dream butterfly departs from Setsuna and flies off. What does that even mean??? But it's also a different butterfly, so WHAT DOES IT MEAN????? Sesshoumaru gives short advice when needed, but otherwise doesn't interrupt.

"Don't be distracted by trivial thoughts."

And "You can see them. Don't hesitate."

And THEN!!!! he speaks to Setsuna, who wakes up, catches the completed naginata from Totosai and UTTERLY OBLIVIATES THOUSANDS OF DEMONS

Sesshoumaru gives the hilt of Tensaiga to Totosai, asking him, ASKING, to take care of it. TOTOSAI IS SO IMPRESSED HE EVEN MENTIONS HOW MUCH HE HAS CHANGED. Then sesshoumaru flies off lol. Of course.

Totosai then gives ALL SORTS OF INFORMATION about their powers, the blood blade, and how Towa can achieve a sword that is worthy of her powers. I always knew she was being held back. So we have a couple of quests this season, which im sure will intertwine with Zero and Kirinmaru. It's a solid plot line, and predictable but exciting.
