And ooo I love this question 👀 Ok so Dandelion didn’t have the happiest or most settled childhood, so tbh, she doesn’t have many Christmas traditions of her own. Just some small, portable ones: store-bought cookies, admiring storefront decorations, watching whatever Christmas movies happened to be playing on the tv. Streaming some of her favorites once that became a thing. Frankie and Santi came from bigger families and have spent several christmases together, so they’ve built up plenty. When they catch Dandelion saying something wistful about Christmas, they take one look at each other, nod, and go ALL IN.

That first year they’re settled somewhere, the boys go hard on giving Dandelion the Christmas she deserves. They chop down their own tree, Santi cooks and bakes up a storm, and Frankie goes all out decorating until the yard (and roof) are covered with lights. There’s hot coco and snowball fights and kisses under mistletoe. Dandelion shows them her favorite movies and pretends not to agree that Diehard is a Christmas movie (bc the boys get so heated when she does). They spend Christmas Eve ice skating and curled up in front of a fire, and if they get a late start the next morning, well, the presents can wait.

this is going to sound pretentious and i acknowledge this but i do think people's media comprehension would be much stronger if more people would read classic plays... and i don't just mean shakespeare (though his plays have inspired so many modern stories that being able to understand them and their references does a lot on its own) but roman plays that established character tropes that are used now, plays from ancient greece and india and china that have influenced storytelling to this day, stories from every culture around the world — traces of them can be found in everything and being able to recognize those influences will enrich your understanding of them and deepen your enjoyment. and it's soo deeply touching to read stories written thousands and years ago and to still feel as deeply impacted by it as the people it was written for would have... humanity at its core has always loved storytelling and to connect to stories written by our predecessors is to connect to the people around us past and present

I'm kinda tired of dungeon meshi fans blatantly misinterpreting Kabru's goals, motivations, and character so they can ship him with Laios...like obviously it's awesome if you enjoy Laikabu but can you nooot twist Kabru's intentions for involving himself with the guy who constantly triggers his monster trauma and pisses him off so bad he gets brain damage so that he turns into "the guy who wants to suck Laios's dick" as his entire character? I've even seen people cut off Kabru's words to make it seem like he is admiring Laios because it would disrupt that narrative

hello i came here from ao3 which makes this kinda feel like i’m following a coworker home and letting myself into their house but i’ve been rereading all your jaytim fics yet again and am! not! normal about it! and i just wanted to say that i love love love the way you write jason so much. it’s also really fun starting with your first jaytim fic that’s more like general fanon jason and tim and then following the ways you flesh both of them out so much as you write more. i feel like the true jaytim shipper arc is using tim as the self insert at first bc jason hot but then realizing jason is the one with issues that kind of make him the best to dig into and chew on and yeah. i just really really love how you write him and i wanted to let you know! ah! ok bye!

TuT THANK YOU omg, I'm so happy that you like my evolving take on Jason!! Because you are very right - I barely knew who Tim and Jason were when I first started writing fic of them, and was (w)riding high on DEEPLY HORNY VIBES ALONE. Coming from Teen Wolf and Sterek, I think it's quite obvious how my fandom pipeline got me to that first fic lmao >.>

Tim is such a fun character, but I do find him more personally relatable, and I find Jason more personally attractive, fjdslfjsa so YEAH. YOU'RE SO RIGHT. My motto is, as ever, "Tim Drake gets what I want, and what I want is Jason Todd" so while I find writing Tim POV to be the most comfortable, I find Jason more fun to obsessively write about. I think about Jason a lot because, to me, Tim is also thinking about Jason a lot U_U You can really see the turning point where I started thinking about Jason as a character more fjdlsfjafd

(that dog fic was a distraction from an as of yet unfinished Friends w/Benefits -> Lovers WIP from Jason's POV... maybe someday I'll finish you...)

Jason is so cool (/literary /he's actually a dork). He has a lot of mixed emotions and motives and confusing traumas and life events to navigate. His death is one of THE most important moments in comic book history, a decisive turning point in tone and theme, and people just can't help themselves when it comes to him and that moment (and the crowbars. christ. how many times are we going to hand jason a crowbar and expect him to want to use it fdjslfsa I DIGRESS).

You can write Jason a lot of ways, because how do you even react to that? How do you even come to terms with your literal death and resurrection and the messy mcfreaking history you left behind and then came back to? It's believable when Jason is edgy and sexy and volatile, THE Bad Boy of the already Bad Boy Batman franchise - but it's equally believable when he's just a scared, secretly dorky kid who came back to a family that moved on without him, his murderer still out there and killing people who aren't lucky (?) enough to have cosmic connections. Even better to me when he's both lol
