Book Review - Fact vs. Fiction: Teaching Critical Thinking Skills in the Age of Fake News

The dreaded phrase "fake news" has become a mainstay in political discussions and general social interactions over the past few years. This trend has been tied to the term “post-truth”, a concept “denoting circumstances in which objective facts are less influential in shaping public opinion than appeals to emotion or personal belief” (“Oxford Living Dictionaries,: nd.). The usage of “post-truth” skyrocketed from 2015-2016, increasing by 2,000% attributed, in no small part, to the U.S. presidential election and Brexit (“Word of the Year”, 2016). Post-truth circumstances have encouraged the term fake news to be tossed around with increased frequency. This may have you wondering how you can find the truth in what some refer to as a post-truth society.

The answer lies in education and personal development. It is the responsibility of both the individual and educators to hone critical thinking skills, which will allow one to navigate the tenuous and seemingly overwhelming landscape of the digital age and to identify personal biases that may contribute to post-truth circumstances. You may think to yourself, “there is no way to filter so much information!” Or, “I just have to take everything with a grain of salt.” Or even, “I use computers all the time, I know how to filter information and find answers, why do I care about post-truth and fake news?”. I am happy to say, there are resources out there to help you filter truth from falsities, one of which is the book, Fact vs. Fiction: Teaching Critical Thinking Skills in the Age of Fake News by Jennifer Lagarde and Darren Hudgins.

The History

A common misconception, highlighted by Lagarde and Hudgins, is that fake news is a modern problem. The age-old adage, “There is nothing new under the sun” rings true here. Fake news has been documented in the United States as far back as the American Revolution! Benjamin Franklin used a method of fake news to “supplement” the newspaper the Independent Chronicle to ensure the United States achieved true independence from Great Britain before arriving at a peaceful resolution (National Historical Publications & Records Commission [NHPRC], n.d). Almost two hundred years, later Woodrow Wilson used the Committee on Public Information (the CPI) to similar ends with his “Four-Minute Men” to control the narrative around WWI (Daly, 2017). There are other examples from history, but these serve the point of illustrating that fake news is not a modern problem.

The Cause

The cause of post-truth circumstances and the clarion call of fake news is sourced at a very basic level. Lagarde and Hudgins identify the roots of the issue being linked to confirmation bias, the bias created by our brains seeking information that confirms what we already believe to be true; and implicit bias which refers to how our existing biases and stereotypes affect our understanding, actions, and decisions in an unconscious manner. In short, our brains like the easy way out, “I already believe x so y must also be true”. These biases are exacerbated by the massive amount of information one has at their disposal. Most of humankind’s knowledge is available to an individual with a few quick clicks. The staggering amount of data presented to us can often, consciously or unconsciously, cause us to go back to looking for the easy answer. What do I know to be true (correctly or incorrectly) and what corroborates this view? In short, post-truth and fake news are a historical problem ingrained in our psyches. It will take a conscious effort to overcome an unconscious response. Overcoming human nature may seem like a herculean task. However, Lagarde and Hudgins have provided numerous techniques and resources to empower you and your students to search for truth.

The Response

The research techniques identified by the authors will assist students in searching for truth with more purpose:

3 Pillars to Web Literacy (pg. 23)

Purposeful Search - Using advanced search techniques to narrow the scope and raise the quality of information found on the web.

Effective Organization and Collaboration - Being able to organize all of this information into a comprehensive and growing library of personal knowledge.

Sharing and making sense of information - Sharing what we find and what we learn with the world, and using the knowledge of others to help us make sense of it all (November & Mull, 2012).

Lagarde and Hudgins also identified the media literacy tool known as the CRAPP test, developed by the Meriam Library of California State University.

Is it Current - When was it published? Are their references current? Is currency important to your topic?

Is it Relevant - Does the info relate to my topic? What audience is it written for? Is it an appropriate level for my needs?

Is it Authoritative - Who is the author/organization? Are they qualified? Is it edited or peer reviewed? If a website, does the URL tell you anything?

Is it Accurate - Where foes the information come from? Are there references? Are there errors, broken links, etc?

What is its Purpose - What’s the purpose of the information? Advertising, Scholarly work? Opinion? Is there bias?

Adding these techniques to your research and providing them to your students will start any research project off on the right foot. In addition to these general guidelines, Lagarde and Hudgins provide a series of tools to assist with more specific tasks and skill-building, here is a small sampling of the collected resources:

The tools outlined in this book, paired with the insight into the history and psychology of fake news in a post-truth world, can equip you and your students to be discerning and savvy participants in any news environment. To close, I would like to highlight the proverbial call-to-arms: the author’s issue to their readers “We believe our classrooms and libraries can be safe places for students (and teachers) to learn how to navigate these potential minefields—but only if we step up as defenders of truth” (pg 130).

The spontaneous and colorful illustrations of Massimiliano Aurelio

Among Massimiliano Aurelio 's passions is music, to whose protagonists - including pop, rock and jazz - he has dedicated more than one illustration. In the past his points of reference belonged to the world of comics , among them Frank Miller, to which along the way the masters of illustration were added. Today, among his clients we find Mondadori, Il Sole24ore, The Guardian, Rolling Stone and Wired, just to name a few. We asked him a few questions to get to know him better.

Hi Massimiliano and welcome to Picame. Do you want to introduce yourself to our readers? I was born in Puglia, precisely in Taranto and after studying art and illustration at the IED in Rome I came to Milan where I entered the advertising field as an Art Director. Illustrating, however, is a passion that I have always had since I was a child, so in 2012 I decided to take the path of being a freelancer which initially saw me working both as a freelance art director and as an illustrator but which gradually over the years saw me increasingly plus the field and for the past eight years I have been working full time as an illustrator. In short, I draw to live and to relax I draw.

Do you remember your first drawing? There is no trace of my first drawing in my memory but I remember very well some drawings related to my childhood. I remember them because I had the obsession of always depicting cranes building buildings and railway level crossings. I think I've drawn hundreds of them. My mother's numerous art history books that I occasionally used to draw on in the absence of blank sheets of paper also know something about it.

The artificial creation of images now has a spectacular level of quality, which helps, but at the same time threatens, among others, the professionalism of illustrators . Various forms of creativity can be “imitated” by AI and therefore completely replace human processing. Jacopo Perfetti, a teacher and entrepreneur who knows the subject well, states: " What worries me most is not that machines may one day think like man, but that man may one day think like a machine and therefore, Done, stop thinking ." What is your point of view? It is a topic on which I have not yet been able to delve as deeply as I would like but from the few articles I have read I am very much in line with the words of my colleague and friend, the excellent Emiliano Ponzi, when in an interview published a few weeks ago on the subject he said: " I have the feeling that there is a wave much higher than the shelter that can be found ." I can only agree, this is because if we already cannot control the tax evasion of small or large companies in the world, how can we control the images of other hundreds of millions of computers and users? It's too complicated, unless there is a restriction to the source where you access the images. The thing that worries me most about ChatGTP or Midjourney is that many artists are probably influenced by them so much that they no longer work to express their own way of seeing the world, but to copy what AI will succeed. I speak of artists, focusing above all on "commercial" illustration, which for reasons of time and budget does not have much time available for processing and publication. Instead, true artists have original, personal, inimitable styles. People like Salvador Dalì or Picasso speaking of the past, and recent artists or designers like Blu or Zerocalcare, have nothing to fear from the programs. To conclude, I still recommend a site like Have I Been Trained? , a tool that allows artists to understand if their works have been used to train this or that algorithm linked to the app that generates digital art of the moment. I would call it one of the tools that opened the eyes of many other artists who were unaware that their works had been used in the training program.

Three artists that you would like to recommend to our readers. Three are really too few but if I have to narrow the circle I would first recommend two great illustrators: the first and most current is Christoph Niemann who I consider one of the most brilliant minds in contemporary visual communication and who I had the pleasure of meeting a few years ago here in Milan . The second is Miroslav Sasek who I continue to appreciate today as I did twenty years ago with his colorful line and witty and vintage, yet current style. The last of the three but most linked to painting as an art form remains Amedeo Modigliani . In addition to the jobs for which you are popular, do you have any other passions or secret dreams? I have always wanted to have musical talent. One of the instruments that I have never touched but which remains on the wish list is the drums. I have loved it since I was a teenager when I listened to bands like Offspring, Nofx, Korn and I continue to appreciate it even today since my more adult ears have also been carried away by jazz music.

Chet Baker Is there an artist or character from the past or present that you would like to meet in person? Even here just one becomes too restrictive. But I have always been fascinated by characters and artists like Toulouse-Lautrec in Belle Époque Paris who lived and transmitted in each of their drafts or works of art. I would have a lot of questions and curiosities to ask him so one meeting wouldn't be enough. A work goal that you would like to achieve within a year . There are some projects in the works. The desire is to continue looking for new stimuli and not repeat previous experiences too much. There is an objective that I would like to try to achieve but I believe it will not be easy to complete within the next 365 groups. It is an idea about the history and events that happened in Milan in the last century in each decade and on different themes (architecture/fashion/events). Because Milan is the city that in Italy, more than others, has transformed a lot and continues to transform rapidly from year to year. Can you tell us what you are working on these days? I have just closed a very interesting project that I created for the Emilia Romagna Region and which has to do with the child/parent relationship in different age groups. At the same time I am finalizing a new illustration for the Yacht Boat International magazine which has "adopted" me as its official illustrator for almost two years now.

Quick thoughts about taking reference and inspiration from existing lolita:

This is the high-waist version of the Fantasic Dolly JSK.

(BTW, not a typo, it’s technically fantasic, not fantastic, and I like saying “fantasic.”)

Here’s a quick look at some of the rest of the series.

It’s one of my favorites, and tiny newbie me tried to buy (what was probably a replica of) it before not knowing how to use taobao and giving up.

It’s also a really good example of how budget/handmade lolita and mainstream lolita can diverge in an interesting way.

This is one of those pieces where duplicating the design would require some custom textile work, and a lot of that work would really add to the design.

When you’re a large company, it’s easier to print the bows onto the fabric than it is to manufacture bows and attach them. The printed bows here look very good and add to the vintage sort of feel to the dress.

However, replacing the large bows and the black band near the hem of the print with grosgrain ribbon and 3-dimensional bows would add more detail to the bottom of the dress. That ribbon detail would cover the seam between your large polka-dot fabric that is the main body, and the blue contrasting band.

When it comes to finding a border print with cute dotty toiletries on it, you might be out of luck. However, if you’re excited about custom textiles, there’s some interesting options with this style.

All of the toiletries in the image are four colors: solid black, solid white, light pink, and some dark pink for shading. The starkness of the black would lend itself to some easy ways to copycat this sort of style.

Embroidering by hand is always an option if that’s your preference. However, doing a black stencil very carefully could get a similar feeling. If you know someone with a computer-controlled cutting machine (like a cricut), it would be possible to stencil on pink outlines and do the details in black heat-transfer vinyl* to get very sharp outlines. Because those black outlines are so stark and clear, there’s numerous ways you could get a similar feeling with a solid color.

Slapping a jump on this because after this I just start talking about random drawing advice.

Okay, 20dollarlolita, cool story, but where do you get the picture you want to use for the print?

It would be a lot of work for a home user to make a 100% replica of Fantasic Dolly on their friend’s cricut and a freezer paper stencil. Instead, it’s best to look at what method you have to manufacture the image, and then design the image to that.

If you’re going to draw your own route, here’s my advice for people who think they can’t draw things but still want to try:

Lazy example because I’m lazy, but if you’re having trouble figuring out how to draw something, running it through some image editing filters can help you visualize it as color values rather than as shapes. When you look at the image on the right, your brain tries to fill in information about what shape it is and where the lines go. When you convert it into values, it forces your brain to look at it in the context of where the light is falling. Doing stark outline work like replicating Fantasic Dolly with a freezer paper stencil really requires you to understand where light is falling, and where shadows are.

(My preferred series of image manipulations is to convert the image to grayscale > edit the levels to absurdly high contrast > throw on a low-level gaussian blur > posterize to 3-4 colors. I use GIMP for all of this and I have used GIMP for 15 years now and I am not interested in hearing that it sucks).

If you don’t want to learn image editing right now, you can also use instagram to make the picture black and white, and then hold your phone at arm’s distance and squint.

When you have both the image and the value map, it’s a lot easier to understand how to draw it, and how to render that down into a line drawing.

I’ve been staring at the rest of this post for like an hour and a half and I don’t know anything else to say except that what you draw will be bad, and you will keep drawing bad things, because at some point you will have drawn so many bad things that it doesn’t even impact you anymore. Thumbnails are good. Don’t think about it too much. When you keep your original ideas loose and flowing, you can drop one and pick up another when you start feeling like you’re not making a good choice. If you’re getting dedicated to an idea, drop it and start a new one, and then go back to the old one when you’ve tried something else. Don’t get dedicated to a foot if you haven’t drawn the head; you’ll have a good foot that you’ll have to throw away when the nose won’t work. Paper is cheap and pencils last a long time, so that means mistakes are free and you should make a thousand of them. Don’t erase things. Tracing is totally acceptable and teaches you many things. It does get easier. It really does. You’re allowed to be proud of things you like, even if they’re flawed. When you create something, you are allowed to be as proud of that as you want to be.

Wow, that got derailed. Go get some sleep. I’m proud of you.

Thoughts : WandaVision [Disney+, Episodes 1-3] (2021)

2020 may have delayed the MCU’s rollover into Phase 4 with COVID-19 and theater closings putting a huge stumbling block in front of the perpetually delayed Black Widow film, but with box office not a factor in regards to WandaVision, the powers that be have moved forward with premiering the series on the Disney+ streaming service. With talk of the film being a setup for the incoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (not to mention an alternate take on the infamous House of M comic story), the levels of intrigue were definitely high, and with the 3 of the scheduled 9 episodes currently streaming, there may be more questions than answers in the minds of viewers.

THE STORY THUS FAR

Episode 01 : Filmed Before a Live Studio Audience Wanda (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany) settle into the town of Westview to begin the next chapter of their once troubled life. One morning, Vision notices a heart placed on the calendar for that day, but Wanda and Vision are unsure of what the heart represents. After Vision leaves for work, Wanda’s neighbor Agnes (Kathryn Hahn) introduces herself, and immediately interjects herself into Wanda’s plans for the “special night”. Vision, however, is reminded by his boss Mr. Hart (Fred Melamed) that he and his wife (Debra Jo Rupp) will be coming to Vision’s house for dinner, setting up two sets of alternate plans for a collision course to wackiness.

Episode 02 : Don’t Touch That Dial Wanda and Vision take part in the Westview talent show (”for the children”) as Glamour and Illusion for a magic act. Agnes introduces Wanda to Dottie (Emma Caulfield Ford), the head lady of Westview, whose firm leadership style causes tension in the run-up to the event. Vision attempts to integrate himself with the Neighborhood Watch, but a chewing gum-based mishap throws him for a major loop that puts both the magic act and the identities of Wanda and Vision at risk.

Episode 03 : Now in Color A surprise pregnancy forces Wanda and Vision to plan for welcoming a child into their home, but strange events begin to occur surrounding the pregnancy. Rather than the standard 9 month period, Wanda’s pregnancy accelerates at an exponentially rapid rate that not only causes Vision stress, but impacts Wanda’s ability to control her magic. When the pregnancy abruptly begins, Vision runs to fetch Dr. Nielsen (Randy Oglesby), but before they can return, Wanda’s neighbor and new friend Geraldine (Teyonah Parris) lends a hand. In the aftermath, however, Geraldine shows her hand, causing even more confusion in Wanda’s world.

These three YouTube channels are known for their timely and in-depth analysis of many properties, and they have continued this tradition by uploading episode recaps and element breakdowns for WandaVision.

THOUGHTS ON THE SHOW Stylistically, WandaVision is a bold choice for the MCU, opting to re-skin our main characters in different versions of nostalgic television eras and shows rather than building a unique look or leaning on established locations within the previously established MCU world. As a former Nick at Nite junkie, as well as a product of the 1980s, I was very familiar with the numerous shows explicitly referenced, and the use of practical effects and single camera setup was emulated perfectly. The adjustment of watching two of the MCU’s most powerful characters attempt to minimalize themselves within the formulaic framework of sitcom television from the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s is a bit of a rough one at first, as the story seemingly is traveling in the reverse direction of our expectations, but not so far beneath the primary layer shown, there seems to be a world of intrigue bubbling in the anticipation of being discovered.

Currently, there are tons of elements that seem like Easter Eggs, but I am almost certain that they will factor in as key parts of the story in due time. The primary bit of visual stimulus that has most people buzzing is the S.W.O.R.D. imagery, an organization similar to S.H.I.E.L.D., but with a focus on intergalactic and mystic threats rather than superheroes and governmental communication. Much of the jewelry and flare worn by the women of the show seem to contain relevant symbolism of some sort : Agnes wears a pin that seems to have 3 characters on it (perhaps a reference to Mephisto, Wiccan and Speed?), Geraldine (aka Monica Rambeau) is introduced with a pin that looks A LOT like the dimensional gateways created by Doctor Strange’s sling ring, and Geraldine later wears a necklace with the aforementioned S.W.O.R.D. symbol (which is also seen on the toy helicopter and the uniform of the mysterious beekeeper).

It is also currently unclear who the antagonist (or possible multiple antagonists) of the story are... Agnes and Dottie have both been pegged as early candidates, with tons of speculation swirling around the possibility of Agnes being Agatha Harkness and perhaps working in league with Mephisto, Grim Reaper or Nightmare. There is also a groundswell of viewers who wonder if Wanda is the villain of the story, which leans into the House of M theory in the sense that it has not been established if Wanda is currently cognizant of her reality or not. This theory is also fueled by the strange behavior(s) of those who inhabit Westview : most everyone falls into a sitcom trope performance when around Wanda, but at times, people seemed to get locked into weird, uncanny valley level “glitches”, or are outright accusatory of Wanda and Vision’s intentions.

The characters (and acting) in the show is solid so far, despite the lack of context or clarity in regards to the bigger picture.

Wanda is playing an Americanized, sitcom-esque version of herself. She still seemingly has some version of her powers, as she can manipulate objects with her mind and control time. It is unclear how much she is in control of what we’re seeing, versus someone else being in control or there being a complete lack of control.

Vision’s tragic sacrifice, rebirth and immediate death is well documented from the events of Avengers : Infinity War, and yet, he seems to be alive, devoted to Wanda, and completely unaware of his tragic deaths. Up to this point, he feels like a bit of a pawn in a bigger game, rather than the all-powerful and all-knowing sentient synthetic weapon that he is.

Agnes is by far the biggest mystery of the show up to this point. The lion’s share of character theories revolve around her, her references to the Devil, darkness and her absentee husband Ralph. She is the most present character outside of Wanda and Vision, she seems to be “in on the joke”, and her demeanor is a bit more forward than the rest of Westview’s inhabitants. Up until episode 03, Agnes felt like she may even be in control, but the fear she shows in episode 03 only serves to blur the lines further.

If Agnes seems to be the most aware of her surroundings, then Geraldine stands in stark (no pun intended) contrast, as she more often than not expresses confusion in regards to her presence in Westview. She has adorned the symbolism of S.W.O.R.D. on her outfit, and at one point, she has a pin that resembles a dimensional gateway (as mentioned previously). She has also made the most jarring statement of the series so far, seemingly snapping out of the “spell” everyone seems to be under and reminding Wanda directly about the tragic loss she suffered at the hands of Ultron.

With six episodes left to go, and a seemingly direct march through the relevant eras of television before we get to the root of the matter, it is highly likely that episodes four, five and six will feature further sitcom stylings of the 1980s and 1990s, and possibly even the 2000s, before switching into a standard MCU-style narrative. Regardless, I am now hooked, and will plan to provide a blog after the release of episodes six and nine, focusing on three episodes at a time.

THE QUESTIONS As per usual with shows of this nature, there are a ton of things going on that raise a multitude of questions...

- What’s with all of the hexagon imagery? Are we in some sort of hive, or is the town of Westview trapped in hive-mind situation?

- Who specifically is controlling Wanda’s reality? It seems that Wanda can control the flow of time to an extent, but it has been established numerous times she is being watched from the “outside”... is it possible she is also being watched from within the world of Westview that Wanda inhabits? Maybe by the mailman, or by Agnes?

- How “real” is the Vision that we are seeing? Is he some sort of recreated Vision made from whatever was salvageable after his encounter with Thanos? Is he a manifestation of Wanda in some way, shape or form? Is Wanda connected to a computer, and is Vision just a computer program at this point, like JARVIS?

- Who is the beekeeper from the second episode?

- What’s the story with the commercials, and how do they fit into what has been presented to us? Stark Industries, Baron Wolfgang von Strucker and HYDRA have all been referenced in the commercials directly, and all deal with elements of time and escape. Also, who are the two people that star in the commercial? It’s been the same two, and the woman has appeared in all three commercials?

Last Blog Post: Global social media: China

The “Great Firewall” is a term that I am only became more familiarized with after I visited China a few years ago as when I travelled to China that time and tried to check on new feeds on my Facebook and Instagram, I was denied access. Only then I knew it’s because of Internet censorship practices of the Chinese state with the Great Firewall (GFW), a vast internet surveillance and content-control system that prevents people in China from accessing certain websites and pages (Solon 2017).

The GFW aims to block content that is critical of the Chinese government or that covers controversial political events, for instance, Tiananmen Square protest (Solon 2017). Many foreign websites and apps such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and et cetera are blocked by China to necessarily intercept the information that it considered is harmful to the country from coming in and flowing out. With banning the global tech giants or strictly regulated, the GFW has fostered an economy that promotes homegrown Chinese tech companies (Fried 2020).

Particularly, Sina Weibo is the China’s Twitter, being the country’s most popular microblogging site, with 430 million active users monthly compared to Twitter which has about 326 million (Ren 2018). TikTok is another largest and fastest-growing global social media platforms spun out of China, allow users to generate short video contents. Unsurprisingly, China’s platforms are heavily moderated, and the experience of being online in China has gradually changed. The government got savvier, and more aggressive, about using the GFW to determine whether certain sensitive words or phrases are contained in the images or texts (Wang 2020). List of banned words and images increased, articles and post that managed to be posted got removed quickly. Perhaps the most devastating form of China’s censorship is physical. Authorities have silenced numerous leading writers, rights lawyers and activists who served as the conscience of the nation which I would describe their actions as depriving the freedom of speech in the name of self-regulation laws.

‘Cyberculture and Identity crisis in the Caribbean’.

With over 7 billion humans on earth, the use of technology has been a medium through which communication takes place. A person at say Ireland for instance, can communicate with another in Jamaica, which is made possible through the internet. When interaction takes place, there's a presence of attitudes and behaviour expressed differently and sometimes similar in various regions. These influences are shared through the world of computers and the internet, where technology is fused in our everyday lives (Bell, 2001). This is called ‘cyberculture’. The sharing of different cultural practices and ideas over the internet therefore takes place as a result of globalized connectedness. The process of Globalization has been a-part of our lives for many years and because of such, interactions are increasing and, in my opinion, inevitable for cultural practices and just mere standards set out by superiors, to be passed on through the use of the internet.

Cyberculture has numerous of benefits to us. However, as knowledge increases, more and more persons utilize the internet to manipulate and control users of such. With reference to the Caribbean, there are several issues that arise in the world of technology like well known ones such as cyberbullying, scamming and so on. However, my focus is on the ‘identity crisis’ observed, which is a terminology used by several writers.

I admire the content of Curwen Best’s book on the politics of Caribbean Cyberculture, as it highlights various issues related to cyberculture in the Caribbean. With focus being projected on the Caribbean, Jamaica specifically, females tend to make known to the public, private matters. These days a female may post on twitter that she’s in need of sex and want to hook up with someone, randomly. These way of expression are often not overlooked because the idea of being open/free when posting, attracts different demography and as time and the different cultures and sub-cultures on the internet start to evolve, things such as the culture of what I would consider to be ‘eroticism’ in women are more acceptable and arguably, encouraged. Well-known artistes in the country tend to include their views of such in their songs. This forces me to believe that the different influences on social media and so on, drives some females to even show a side of them on social media that isn’t true. This leads to females compromising their true identity and taking on what I’d call a ‘fake persona’, just to please the public. Funny enough, many artistes who produce songs which promote a certain lifestyle, though being such a big influence through their songs, are not who they say they are in them. Hence, many are being misled.

Still on the matter of identity, the societal views globally of how beauty should be perceived, contributes greatly to how individuals perceive themselves. I am in strong agreement with an article written by a few authors, which tackled the controversies of self from ethics to cyber terror. They believe that the constructions of identity have suffered enormous technological acceleration influence (Azevedo, 2015). Gone are the days that people would worry less about how they look. The internet is flooded with so many views of how a female should look and people are often forced to utilize resources that will cause them to look how many on the internet are looking these days.
