How I Plan to Execute My Goals
1. GPA: I dropped the ball my first two terms of college. we know this. After this term, I have to get a 4.0 every single term until I apply (and graduate) to earn a cumulative 3.7 which I can, and will do. I am going to study every single day from the day class starts until the final. I am going to go to office hours and get a tutor for whatever I am struggling with. I gotta work my ass off.
2. 50 Hours of shadow experience: I am going to get some shadow experience over this summer and over next term. I plan to complete 5 hours of shadowing a week for ten weeks. I am going to go through private practices in my college town and my hospital in my home town. Cake.
3. Research: This one will be trickier, but none the less, I will get it done. I am going to apply to labs on campus, not only human phys, but bio, chem, and psych too, so I can have as many apps out as possible to optimize my chances of getting a spot. I am going to start applying for research my sophomore yer of college.
4. 100 Hours of Service: I am going to volunteer at a hospice center for one term my sophomore year: winter or spring term. I hope to  do ten hours a week for ten weeks. I need to get better with dealing with death, and I know this is an important part of being a doctor, so better to conquer that sooner than later.
5. MCAT score of 520: I have already gotten my MCAT study books and I plan to read those at least 3 times before taking the MCAT. Right now, I would like to shoot to take the MCAT in September of my Junior Year (after spending the summer shut in my apartment studying for 8 hours a day every day). This way if I need to, even though I wont need to, I can take it twice before submitting my application. I am going to start studying for the MCAT next term, after I make it through finals, since I dug myself into such a whole with my poor work ethic the first two terms of the year.
I CAN DO THIS. I am ambitious, powerful, and dedicated. I’m going to keep up with my blog to document my journey and I also learned from my Health Advisor that this blog will be very helpful to look back when I start applying for med school. So yay me!
