This one was much more difficult than the last, but I'm still very satisfied with it! 😤 I'm both sad that my version lost a lot of the fun soundplay of the original, and also waaay more impressed with the lyrics and vocals after digging it like this! I tried to keep it balanced between the original and Fuuta's version, though maybe it ended up leaning more toward the cover, idk. Leaving my specific notes in the tags 👍

Been playing a lot of TLOU lately so HERE. Take this crossover no one asked for.

southern nightfolk primarily dance the two-step, waltz, tango, salsa, and especially swing, with some nightfolky differences (maybe on the cieling, with fire and ice swirling around them, silly stuff to show off). and they get very into it, really feel the music and let it carry them away. they're high-energy dancers, typically, really work up a sweat. lots of influence from local cultures, but this is about the size of it.

dance tends to be an important passtime, something that's customary on dates, group events, upperclass social events, birthdays, parties, all of it (not unlike humans but still) even in a general sense for all nightfolk. there are exceptions, sure, but nightfolk everywhere are very much lovers of dance. there's intimacy to it, fun to be had, expression, all kinds of things.

It breaks my heart that there's not more samurai champloo fanfics because I love it so much and I have so many idea.

First off, Mugen's tattoos? Yes. Let's talk about those.

Because with all the mutt references, the great sense of smell, the overall feral air to him, the scruffy look, all I can think of is like a hellhound/demon type AU.

Something where Fuu accidentally does some type of bonding/contract between her, Mugen and Jin when she's trying to get them to travel with her.

Mugen would be furious, no one having managed to do something like this before and when it happens, it's Fuu and Jin. Seriously?

The tattoos would be like the visual part of the bond/contract. Something about being tamed or leashed or whatever the villain of the episode would say.

And now they have to travel together because Fuu and Jin have this bond/contract on Mugen.

Maybe it hurts if he gets too far away, or maybe he physically can't get too far.

You could play up the animalistic and bloody tendencies, I mean you don't need to change too many things because he's already pretty much there but whatever.

I just think it would be a fun idea.

I'm actually appalled at how much naruto shippuden filler I've skipped before. Like the prior two arcs were whatever. Kind of interesting, gave some extra perspectives on a few characters, but Eh

This third one, though. It's really going into Utakata to the point where I'm like. I can't believe I've always skipped this??? It's so interesting!!!! I really do hope that Naruto gets to learn he's a jinchuuriki too, bc even tho he's gonna get slurped up by that statue too, for Right Now at least, there's another jinchuuriki here. And Naruto has only met one before now (since he hasn't met Killer Bee yet). I think he deserves to get to know his fellow jinchuuriki.

“naruto’s going to bring you blankets,” he murmurs, holding her there. “wait ten minutes, then come to me.”

“where are you going?” dumbfounded, a flustered fuu watches sasuke put space between them once more, coming to a stand. his answer sends an army of butterflies right to her tummy.

“my bedroom.”
