bunch of raihan/leon headcanon nonsense from my twit*r

theres alot under the cut, warning : its cheesy, also, i headcanon raihan calling leon "bubu"

Raihan is really good at baking and leon is great at cooking savory & spicy food, raihan likes spicy food and leon likes baked goods, they complete each other

Leon so thick and firm he'd be so good to hug and raihan took advantage of that, holding his bubu until leon complains or whine, yknow when ur pet looks so cute and u hug them, like that

leon contacts name on raihans phone is like "♥💖my bubu♥💕", but raihans contact name on leons phone is "Raihan" with capital R

raihan complained about it, showed leons contact name on his phone, leon is surprised bc he thought his contact name on raihans phone is just "Leon" or "Lee"

then leon changes rai's contact name too "🥰raihoney💖

leon doesnt look like the guy who'd be extra on hair and skin treatment, the reason his hair and skin (especially his hair) is unbearably soft and shiny is bc raihan kept reminding him to do so (and buying it)

sometimes leon act spoiled so raihan will do an entire haircare for him

yes raihan do it bc he loves leon unconditionally and he thinks leon deserves it

raihan has a dirty mouth and uses every swear word but for some reasons, around leon all he can say is "jerk" "ugly" and "dumb"

raihan does that bc all he remember when hes with leon is pet names and how-to-coo-and-woo-your-boyfriend

raihan being leons moral compass feels fitting, not bc leon is dumb but bc leon himself is swallowed by his own title and got the hero complex, making him selfless and have a hard time to say no

raihan is there to "what the fuck are you thinking, dont do that baby, you'll die"

but leon seems stubborn yes? he wont listen if people just say "no", he'd ask the reason why, and if the said person doesnt give a clear answer, he leaves but raihan always tries to explain him in full description, short & long lasting damage, consequence etc

so obviously leon listens, and as time goes by, raihan is.. his moral compass, in a way

raihan playfully growls while squeezing leons body parts but its definitely not so playful in leons mind

raihan always ask leon to wear his freshly-washed-hoodie at sunday so when he go to work at monday, his hoodie will smell like leon

raihans laugh is like "aha haha haha *low volume wheeze* phew heehee" and leon got a laugh that can trigger an earthquake

Raihan sneeze like a kitten while leon sneeze like a buldozer

Leon muffles his laugh by hugging raihan so it wont surprise anyone around them

leon demanding affection from raihan by giving him stupid empty threats

leon : Kiss me or ill

raihan : u will what

leon : i-i will shrink your hoodie and make it mine

raihan : no, now come here bubu

In reality, leon doesnt need to do "things" to get raihans attention, raihan told him he can just ask or "just sit on my lap or tug my shirt and ill cuddle and kiss you till the next day", but leons ego is too high for that so he does stupid shit instead

raihan is very loved by leons family bc surprisingly hes able to stop leon and hop from fighting

if u ask how, raihan simply pick up leon up and walk away

aihan is the only guy who leon will listen too and got called as the "champion tamer"

but all raihan do is just

raihan : bubu, no

leon : no..?

raihan : leon. no

leon : no...

then nag him softly while explaining the consequences, sometimes short and long term effect it depends on the situation

leon is stubborn, so it took sometime to convince him that his plan or an action he almost took to partake is very impulsive or doesnt give a good result

the thing is leon is not stupid, infact hes quite brilliant, therefore its hard to convince him if a person who tries to stop him doesnt have a similiar mind like he is, but thankfully theres raihan

for some reasons raihan is able to found leon in any occasion so the league staff ALWAYS calls him whenever leons gone

league staff : mr rai-

raihan : is it leon

league staff : yes

raihan : im on my way

leon likes to ask raihan for hairbands bc he kept losing them

raihan : bubu, isnt this your third time asking for them this week

leon : ....yes..?

raihan spoiling leon bc he feels he wants to make up for him, bc he wasnt available near leon when fought eternatus

leon follows raihan everywhere in the winter and kept pressing himself to him, whenever raihan question whats wrong leon just looked him in the eye and "im warming you up"

leon is small by raihans perspective but he hugs leon tight anyway

raihan is possessive of leon hes THAT hot, charismatic yet very adorable, leon is the one who keeps his chin up and soothe his fears, and hes the champion, everyone wants the champion, u think he'll let go that easily? no, never

and leon is probably possessive too, raihan is a hot nerd, affectionate and gentle, hes the one who push him to his best, the one who also stops him for doing too much, hes his source of comfort and he wont let go and wont let anyone take his raihan away from him for sure

10 years of friendship and healthy rivalry means 10 years of being on each others live, being one of the biggest contributor and supporter for the other, who pushes to the limit yet stopping when one is too close to the edge of the cliff

no matter if its platonic or romantic, they wont let anyone take their rival, friend and lover away that easy, you wont let anyone try to take away one of the important and huge part of your life

raihan big, so hes the big spoon, he loves cooing right at leons ears and kissing the back of his neck, shoulders and sometimes reaches forward to press a sloppy wet kiss to leons cheek

leon crying to raihan when he founds out raihan smokes when hes stressed out, and begging the other to stop and talk to him instead or cope with healthier way

raihan doesnt need an alarm clock to wake him up, leons just need to grin and say "good morning!" its so bright it WILL wake him up

raihan and leon lives together and since then the outfit leon has on his wardrobe is a collection of formal tailored outfits and his battle tower outift, some booty shorts and work out clothing, and obviously underwear and socks.the rest he just stole from raihan

especially t-shirts, hoodies, and jacket, raihan seeing him walking and opening his wardrobe after shower is such a common occurence that he doesnt even need to ask anymore

raihan looks like the type who carries lipbalm and hand cream in his hoodie pocket, he carries 2, 1 cocoa lipbalm for him and honey lipbalm for leon. whenever he met leon, he applies the lip balm on him, it becomes habit that leon even raise his chin up for raihan

leon can sleep alone fine, but when he woke up he felt groggy,but if he slept on top of raihan he'd woke up like he had a perfect 8 hours sleep even tho he slept for only 5 hours

raihan is a heavy sleeper but waking up with leon glued to his chest/back make his whole day better,especially when he woke up to leon peppering his face with kisses to wake him up

raihan being lowkey flustered and overwhelmed by leons beauty/cuteness/sexiness/everything while leon is being clingy and acting spoiled around him

leon cant be serious around raihan, when he saw the gym leader,he automatically let his guard down infront of him, changing from champion leon to leon from postwick, all giddy and happy

leon unzips his champion outfit and once raihan heard the zipping sound he zooms to leon to plant his face between leons chest

if leon wants attention from raihan he will do various things from holding his arm and press his head to raihans shoulders,sitting on his lap and loop his arm around raihans neck,hugging him from the front and put on a cute face

but if raihan wants attention he just, hug leon from behind,put his head on leons shoulder and doesnt let go until leon does SOMETHING

leon has been taking care of others for so long,so when raihan takes care of him ,its a new,yet quite familiar feeling.

its hard to accept since he felt bad about receiving the attention,but raihan kept doing it until leon tend to act spoiled around him

raihan always kiss leons forehead before he sleeps,when raihan is away, he has the urge to videocall raihan so he can coo him to sleep,but hes too embarrassed to do it

he thought abt that and raihan suddenly videocalling him,its noon on the region he visited, and hes like "heeeey, i just want to say good night to my beloved!! good night leon,sweet dreams,sorry bc i cant kiss your forehead but ill kiss u 10x more when im back"

leon was shocked and stared to his camera "lee? fuck,is the connection that bad-" and leon stuttered "n-no! i was surprised...thank you darling, have fun and stay safe okay?"

"of course! dont stay up thinking abt me for too long,i love you so much bubu,good night!

"..good afternoon raihoney,i love you too" leon stayed up for the next 20 minutes rolling around the bed screaming

raihan actually helps leon on taking care of his dragons, which made leons dragonmons actingspoiled around raihan,and sometimes leon thinks that his dragons loves raihan more than him

raihan plays with his dragonmon as if hes playing with a yamper,calling them "cute little babywubby" and playing with their hands,kissing their foreheads and lays with them on the floor,and of course leon joins in by laying on top or next to raihan

even leon have seen raihan carrying his dragapult like a baby with a baby axew hugging his legs, raihan is legit a dragon pokemon magnet

raihan has a habit of cooing or complimenting at leon even when hes doing the simplest thing ever and leon feels giddy like a 5 y.o everytime raihan does it

can u imagine how many pictures of leon raihan have on his phone,its probably more than 1000, he takes picture of leon as if hes a baby pokemon

leon comes to raihans place at 2 am without any warning,i mean raihan DID gave him a spare key so, raihans flat is HIS flat too,and there he goes,going to the bedroom and slip himself under the duvet,crawling to sleep closer to raihan

at first raihan is SO surprised that he jumped from the bed,but now he doesnt care anymore and just kiss leons head,mumbles "goo'nite bubh" and sleep again

leon does it so often that if hes gone from his apartment,people call raihan instead of him

raihan hugging leon from the back while leon is doing stuff in the kitchen while singing,and raihan is there like,peppering smooches and compliments while leon is STILL singing,and giggling bc raihan is smooching him

raihan is BAD at it but he sings along with leon in a joking manner and leon cant even sing anymore bc hes just wheezing while raihan is just "cmOn bAbeEEe SING AgAiiiNNnn"

Pokemon Journeys Episode 45. Let’s review:

1. How are the news reporters not dead yet in that flimsy helicopter in the middle of this apocalyptic event?

2. The fact that Team Rocket were able to reach out to Gigantamax Meowth to have him control himself and try to take on Eternatus absolutely speaks grand possibilities for both funny and awesome Team Rocket moments in the future in the Galar region! That, and Meowth’s knowledge of G-Max Gold Rush, too! Hopefully, the writers won’t miss out on these blatant opportunities.

3. I swear Leon and Charizard cheated death like 4 to 5 times in this episode.

4. The Ash vs. Chairman Rose fight was really done, with Ash using Pikachu and Riolu’s speed to take advantage of Ferrothorn and Copperajah’s bulk and put them against each other. In addition to that, Rose shows how much of a villain he is by smiling throughout the beginning of the fight with sadistic intent, even going as so far to command his mons to attack Ash and Pikachu and crush Riolu. Great display of character, writers! And, of course, as we’ve all been waiting for, Riolu’s evolution into Lucario. Absolutely done well, with Riolu showing his strong friendship with Ash and Pikachu by defending them against Rose’s mons, despite all odds being against his favor due to the sheer size and weight difference. Absolutely perfect. And then Lucario used his aura to tell Ash “Screw Vacuum Wave, I got the Poke-Hadouken, now!”, which was a sweet callback to Ash and Riolu’s aura bond in the latter’s debut appearance. And once the battle was over, Rose showed concern for his Pokemon and not for his failing plans, showing that he’s still human on the inside and is really just in a lot of turmoil due to the trauma he experienced as a child at the mines. So yeah, great moment of the episode all around! On the other hand though..... ugh.....

5. Goh vs. Oleana. Like I said in my last review, I was not looking forward to how this would turn out due to Goh’s win being obvious, and.... yeah, there are some problems. Compared to Ash and Rose’s battle, the action in this one was a lot less impressive. At the start, it was mostly just Raboot using Ember, only to get countered and splooshed by Water Pulse every time. When it actually picked up with Goh using the environment, leading to Raboot’s own evolution into Cinderace to finish Milotic off with Pyro Ball, it was still not done well, as Milotic was knocked out by Pyro Ball and a few consecutive Embers beforehand, which should NOT be enough to make it faint. Look, when Ash fought Rose, it took Pikachu and Riolu a good number of hits to push back Ferrothorn and Copperajah before both were finished off by Aura Sphere, a super-effective move. In this case, Milotic was taken out solely by A FEW attacks its strong against. That shouldn’t have done it in, especially with how untrained Raboot is compared to Ash’s mons. Not to mention, it also kinda digs further a little problem there is with Goh and Cinderace almost always winning/achieving every little thing they do that I’ll go further in-depth with my future blog over them. And while I’m happy Cinderace is back to his enthusiastic self (with some of Raboot’s coolness still left in) and the moment where Goh communicated with Raboot to use the environment for his preferred Ember attack was a good character moment between the two, the cons of this part of the episode kinda outweigh the pros. Moving on, however.

6. Sonia x Raihan? That’s.... kinda cute honestly.

7. Seeing Ash run around with a Lucario at his side is probably bringing a lot of fanfics to life. That, or Lucario and the Mystery of Mew flashbacks. Man, that was a good movie, wasn’t it?

8. Ahh, look at those five dorks gawk over each other and fist bump. It’s stuff like this that makes 2020 better.

9. Remember that part in the original Final Fantasy VII where Sephiroth attacked the whole gang with shockwaves before the fight against Bizzaro Sephiroth? The scene with Eternatus escaping Leon’s Ultra Ball gave me flashbacks to that. And I don’t even know why lol.

10. Oh my Arceus! The up-close shot of Eternamax Eternatus was honestly a little frightening!

11. Chairman Rose...pl-please get away from the helicopter windshield.... That’s just.... creepy.

12. Eternatus’ onslaught of Screw-U laser beams. At this point, it’s natural for Ash and Pikachu to take this kind of stuff in the face everyday.

13. Becoming the Sword and Shield legend? Yeah, that was expected. Look, when it comes to stuff like this in the anime, it’s about as obvious and cliche as it can get to the point it’s really no longer a bother to long-standing anipoke fans. And Leon? Please, my boi, stand down. You just want all the credit to yourself. (I’m only joking please don’t attack me fellow Leon fans)

14. The whole final battle between the good guys and Eternatus was alright. It was really cool seeing the Sword and Shield doggos’ signature attacks in the anime, though, it would’ve been cool for Ash and Goh to actually command them a little just like in the games. (and Ash’s whole thing with Nebby should prove that you don’t necessarily have to own a Legendary to command it in a crisis) It also nice for Pikachu, Lucario, and Cinderace to give Eternatus another three-way combo so that the doggos could have their opening. How it ultimately ended though.... well....

15. GOH’s REGULAR Pokeball caught Eternatus. I repeat, a REGULAR Pokeball from GOH caught Eternatus. Yeah......

16. Legendaries doggos, come back! I wanna see our dorks scratch behind your ears! Ah well, it’s more than likely they’ll return in the anime, given usual tropes and cliches.

17. Chairman Rose and Oleana are also definitely gonna make a return someday, no doubt about that. We still gotta wrap up Rose’s whole character with his childhood and father!

18. PROFESSOR SONIA!!!!! I STAN THIS SO FREAKING MUCH!!!!!!

19. Oh, Goh. You and your love for catching. Unfortunately, as the whole thing with Eternatus kinda proved, the anime is willing to have you able to capture Legendaries. With a plain Pokeball no less. You’re lucky I love you, my boy.

At with that, we’re done with the Darkest Day Arc! Pretty dope arc, ngl! While there were some things I felt were missed out, like Pikachu Gigantamaxing or Goh using mons other then Raboot/Cinderace, given how the episode ended, I feel there will be more of that kind of stuff in future Galar episodes. So that’s worth looking forward to you!

For the overall episode alone.... it was okay. Again, there were some things that kinda made it avoid being perfect (which sadly all involved Goh), but what we got was still great. The visuals and music were all amazing, there were a ton of great character moments, and for the most part, the action was intense and awesome! I’d give this episode an 8/10!

Now, to end things off, who else is excited for Mewtwo next week?!?!

I, have a feeling we have an open world pokemon game in our future

Edit: Nobody has asked me why so I'm just gonna say it

I think, nintendo likes to experiment before actually doing the thing.

Like with the wii u. I think it was (and it probably was) a test run for the switch which came out after. (Gotta love how the wii u disappeared off the face of the planet)

I think they're doing this experiment first stage with the wild area. It's very open. Hence, open world game.

Evidence 2!

Leon responding to Eternatus' presence/absence and just general characters responding to very specific stimuli (raihan responds to weather changes/Arceus forbid hop and others responding to crits and super effective moves/different commentary on matchups in crown tundra dlc)

It reminds me of the many responses you could get to doing things in breath of the wild like poor Paya getting (even more) flustered if you run around naked etc. Which I feel like is a rather open world thing.

I want to say something about the cut scenes too but havent quite worked out what yet.

Nonetheless, that's why I think we have an open world pokemon game in our future. Thanks for coming to my Ted talk

A Sorta Mini-Fic :

The locker room is much quieter now. Almost everyone is gone. The match has been over for.... 5? 10 minutes? Whatever. It just means she's alone. Alone with her thoughts. That's cool.

She's the champion now. Well, she's been champion for a while, actually. Everything happened so fast. One minute she's about to face Leon, the next she's facing Eternatus. Then she's actually the champion, and then she has to face those weird twins and it's just- ugh!

Naomi runs her hands through her hair, playing with her tangled curls. Maybe she shouldn't have left. Maybe she should have tried harder to convince Hop to go on his own. He would've been a great champ! Maybe she-

" Naomi? You okay in there? You've been in here for a while..." Lee's voice filled the empty space that is the locker room.

"O-oh Lee!" Naomi stutters, hoping that no tears have fallen from her eyes, " Y-yes I'm fine! Just taking time to myself, that's all!" Lee hums in response, a small smile appears on his face.

"That's fair. That battle was intense! Gave Raihan a run for his money," He walked over to the bench, "May I?" Naomi nods, and Leon sits next to her on the bench. And they stay like that for a while. Sitting in their own silence.

" You've been through a lot have you?" The question made Naomi jump a little.

“H-huh?” Leon laughs awkwardly, his hand scratching the backside of his neck.

“Um, sorry! That was pretty blunt of me to say, sorry,” he shifts in his seat, “ But you have been through a lot. Between starting your gym challenge, having to deal with the whole…… Rose situation,” his shoulders tenses up a bit, “ and then you actually become the champion of Galar, and all the duties that it imposes,” he turns to face Naomi, “ That’s a lot, don’t you think?”

Naomi could only nod in agreement.

“And now,” Leon gestures to the empty locker room, “ You’re isolating yourself with your thoughts. Thinking you're no good as a champion, yes?” Naomi jumped back a little, astounded by Leon’s on the nose accusations.

“Wha-? How did you-”

“I’ve been at this exact moment many times Naomi!” Leon laughs, resting his arms on his knees, “ I’ve actually been here a few months back, before our match,” Noami feels like a tidal wave of emotions just crashed on her. She’s gonna cry again is she?

“ What I’m getting at Naomi,” Leon continues, “ Is that you deserve to be champion. You may not believe it now, but you do. You went out of your comfort zone to at the very least attempt the gym challenge, then you ended up being the top contenders for the champion’s seat, and then-” Leon is standing now, his arms pose in dramatic gestures, “ You faced Rose! You and Hop faced Eternatus! You two saved Galar!” he lowered his arms, and looked Naomi directly in the eye, his eyes shining, “ The two of you saved me,” his voice etched in sincerity.

That right, isn’t it? If Hop and Naomi didn’t get to the top of the Energy Plant as soon as they did, Leon would have been hurt far worse than he was… or worse.

“ We did do that, didn't we?” Naomi says with a small smile appearing on her face. She feels a little better now, as if a weight been off her shoulders, “ Thanks Leon, I-”

“ Now with all that said and done, I think you need a break,” Leon cuts her off, smiling for a bit before immediately frowning, “Oh wait, sorry, you were saying something?”

“O-oh no! I-it’s fine!” Naomi says, “ It’s just…. I wasn’t expecting that!” Leon laughs again, as if she made some joke.

“ Did you really expect me to just push you back to work after everything that happened? As your chairman? As your brother? No!” Did Leon just acknowledge her as his sister?

“ Being a champion is hard work, Naomi. I don’t want you to go in with so much weight on your shoulders. Now don’t get me wrong, you're doing great right now! You handled the twins with ease!” Did Leon seriously acknowledge her as his sister?

“ But your mental health matters too! There is only so much you can handle at once. I should know,” Oh Arcues, Leon just acknowledged her as his sister.

“ So I was thinking that you should- Naomi? Are you alright? You’re crying,” It amazes her how she was able to hold her tears up till this point.

“ You said you're my brother!” she hiccups, trying to wipe away her tears as fast as she can. Leon just looks at her in confusion.

“ I mean, yes? You and Hoppy are twins, so why wouldn’t I be your brother? U-unless you’re not comfortable with that! I understand I haven’t been the best older brother……”

“ No! No, not at all! I’m glad actually!” she thinks her tears are gone now, “ Hop and I know that you’re trying, so it means a lot,” she smiles. Again, not the conversation she was expected to be having, but she loves it nonetheless.

Leon smiles, softer this time, and tips down his cap.

“ That means a lot to me too,” he clears his throat, “ Well, I wanted you to go to the Isle of Armor, for a little vacation.” Isle of Amor? Didn’t Hop say something about Leon training there at one point?

“ It’s a truly beautiful place, I know you’ll love it! Most of the gym leaders go there for training, but not always! It’s a great place to just relax,” Naomi ponders a bit. That does sound nice. She could get some training in too, but-

“ Will I have to go alone?” Leon shakes his head, “ Nope! You can take anyone you want! If there not too busy off course,”

“Hmmmm….. Okay! I’ll go. It sounds fun!” she smiles at him, “ But only if you promise to take some time off yourself too! You’ve been champion for 10 years, and now your Galars chairman and owner of the Battle Tower? Leon, you deserve as much of a break as I do!” Leon beams.

“ I will, I promise! I just have a project that I’m working on right now, but when I’m done,” He smiles at her, “ I promise I’ll rest,”

Naomi smiles at her older brother

“Good!”

⚫️ POKÉMON SWORD AND SHIELD - RAIHAN REACTING TO YOUR MEGA SHINY RAYQUAZA ⚫️

Ok first, Raihan always admired you for your amazing fighting skills. You are from another region where you were very well known because of your training competences.

However there is always one thing he founded weird about your team..

“ Quetzal “

Once in a while you’re talking about your first pokemon, the first pkemon you ever met in your life. “ Quetzal”

At first he thought that “Quetzal” was dead because you’re always talking about him, but he never saw it since you are in Galar. He thought you were not accepting his death so you still talk about it in the present.

He founded it very sad but he doesn’t really know what happened in your past so he is not in a position to judge you.

he once asked you about it and your good mood went away with your beautiful usual smile, so he took the decision to not ask you about this pokemon ever again

But one night, when you two were doing camping in the wild area next to Hammerlocke, he saw a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge meteorite coming from the sky

Raihan freaked out as the enormous block crashed right next to you

He asked you if you were ok and started panicking

he finally heard you saying : OMGGGG QUETZAL YOU ARE BACK !

When he rushed to your direction, he was just mesmerized by the pokemon in front of him

Yup he was a fiery dragon trainer, Yup he is constantly in contact with very dangerous pokemons....But here...When he saw a magnificent Black Mega Rayquaza in front on him, he had never felt that small even in front of Eternatus

All of your pokemon are rushing to Rayquaza to hug him while you are petting it’s head like a good dog

you finally realised how shock Raihan was and presented him “ Quetzal” Aka your Rayquaza

“ Oh...Thats why i didn’t find anything online by the name of Quetzal...”

the beast was glaring at him, it was analyzing what kind of man he was and it’s terrifying honestly

Riahan asked you so many question while staring at Rayquaza because remember he thought your first pokemon was dead because you looked so sad whenever you talked about it

You explained how Rayquaza and you met. When you were a child, you were an orphan so you were forced to enter an academy of intense Pokemon traning to become a soldier of an evil organisation. It was too much for you so you escaped the secret academy. You met Rayquaza when your former bullies wanted to catch you in a mountain, he helped you escape safely and you become friend pretty easily since you were one of the only human on earth that didn’t wanted to catch him for personal reason

You accepted and since that day, Rayquaza aka Quetzal is your pokemon.

“ Wow your life sounds like a movie Y/n i still can’t believe it. Anyway Rayquaza Nice to meet you handsome ! I am Raihan !”

during your speech your legendary pokemon was still analyzing Raihan

“ He likes you”

“Hum..u sure Princess ?”

Rayquaza came next to Raihan and began to roar

“ He said, Thank you for taking care of Y/n while i’m not here human”

Finally reasured, Raihan pat the big head of the dragon and said: “ No problem Mate ! But you’ll always be her number 1″ he cant help but talk about you ans now i understand why”

You explained him why you were sad when he asked you about Quetzal

As much as you would love to participate to tournament with Quetzal, you knew it was a bad idea because of every evil organisation waiting in the shadow to capture and torture him. So yes he is your pokemon however, you never put him in a pokeball and you will never. Because he is too precious and magnicicent to stay enclose in a poor pokeball. so Quetzal is always in liberty and come to see you sometimes but at least more than 20 time every year.

“ Yup i agree princess, you made a good choice” he said kissing your cheek

Behing his scary look, Rayquaza is very friendly even if it’s red eyes don’t help

He will play with Raihan’s dragons in the sky

“ Well i think i have to be careful when i make you angry now cutie”

Leon would be sooooo jealous hihi

If you and Raihan become a thing, Quetzal will let him ride him once in a while

He would love having a battle against It but he also know how attached you are to Quetzal so he would never start a fight by himself

eesh this is probably gonna be a looong post so bare with me!!!

i think i said this in an earlier post but the ending felt SUPER rushed to me. chairman rose wasn’t set up as a villain until like what the last few seconds of the game? i get maybe wanting a twist villain but in this case it didn’t work because his motivation was never established. i think if they set up galar as running out of energy or becoming inhospitable because of the changing climate it would make sense but ??? they never said WHY he needs more energy for galar. like maybe if they made him a greedy businessman archetype it’d be something but he’s established as a philanthropist who would do anything for the galar region so it doesn’t fit in his character. rose is my favorite swsh character, but he doesn’t work as the villain imo. he’s probably the weakest villain since lysandre, which is saying a lot bc i HATE lysandre but lysandre worked sm better as a villain bc he was willing to die for his beliefs like wow that was dark??? rose just is like “well you beat me in a pokemon battle. lol go stop eternatus now sorry galar i had a himbo moment” dkjskd love him aNYWAYS. if they wanted to shoehorn in a villain i think oleana would’ve worked better

also i think the pacing is reaaaally bad. pokemon always has issues with pacing but swsh seems much more obvious to me ?? like after the first 3 gyms there’s really nothing inbetween each gym battle save an occasional sonia appearance or hop battle..... i feel the absence of an evil team was really obvious bc there’s not really a bigger conflict

characters !!! for the most part swsh is p good w character development of its main characters (hop is the one that feels the most developed !!! he’s by far one of the most relatable characters in any pokemon game...), and i like that they involved the gym leaders more in the main story!!! but some of the characters, ESP marnie, oleana, rose and bede are really underutilized :^( i thought marnie and bede were going to be main rivals but... idk i thought we would get more of them !!! bede’s growth is cute but marnie really doesn’t get much ... oleana and rose get even less

the postgame........... petty but TF WAS THE WHOLE THING W THE SWORDBERT TWINS???? LIKE WHAT THE HELLL TRULY THE WORST DESIGNED CHARACTERS OF ALL TIMEEEEEEEE... tell me WHY gamefreak made me stare at their ugly asses when we could’ve gotten more lore w bede or marnie. i hate that gamefreak owes me reparations for making me look at them. ugh. ANYWAYS, hop and sonia’s growth postgame was a good redeeming moment tho and i liked getting to battle w some of the gym leaders lol... also the after ending was SUPER short.... if ur gonna give me a wild af after ending at least do one like u did in x&y w emma and looker i loved that shit

tldr: lazy ending, bad pacing, underutilized characters and short after ending i think are its main faults !!! i still like the game nonetheless...!!! stan oleana and rose they deserved better

Growing up in Galar, none of them had really thought about dynamaxing as anything other than a thing that happened in the region. Hop didn’t know that it was unique to Galar, Victor and Gloria had seen battles from other regions and knew it wasn’t a thing, but they’d never really thought about it. When they find out it’s Eternatus though, they’re really reconsidering.

Hop wants to study them. Hop wants to see what exactly from Eternatus allows Dynamax. Sometimes he asks to borrow the legend from Victor/Gloria so he can observe how they act and see if it has to do something to let pokemon Dynamax. Sonia makes sure he never does it alone, but she’s letting him do it as his first study as a professor.

Victor had always had the thought that Dynamaxing was a pointless gimmick- something he sort of agreed with Piers on- and didn’t really think it made pokemon battles so much more interesting. Yeah, they’re big pokemon, but what else is different? He doesn’t really see much point to it, and after finding out about Eternatus, he worries it might be hurting them. Victor doesn’t like dynamaxing.

Gloria used Dynamax in battle as often as possible. She does it for show or to just make the battle go faster, she knows her pokemon are strong enough to handle these things on her own. With Eternatus, they’re a legendary pokemon so they can handle this kind of thing, but she still does slow down on it after. Mostly because of how funny it is to see a gym leader Dynamax their pokemon only for them to go down to an Electro Ball from Rotom or a Psyshock from Meowstic.

Now, me? Mod Oasis? I think in-universe, it’s nothing compared to Z-moves and Mega Evolution. Z-moves and Mega Evolution were all about the bond between the pokemon and their trainer, you had to love your pokemon to use it. But Dynamax? Ah, no, anyone can use it. I didn’t expect the story to revolve around the source of it so much, but it’s still … I strongly prefer Mega Evolution and Z-moves. It’s why Adelyn and Faye prefer to use Mega, even if they can Dynamax.
