holy fk i wanna talk abt kcon 2016 ny hitouch ... i feel like not alot of ppl know and i wanna TALK about it. so i got to kcon d2 pretty late so i had already missed the eric nam hitouch which was perfect cuz i only care about bts !! so omg apparently the workers at the check in didnt know the difference between raffle and who gets hi touch or not so like they gave alot of people hi touch opps who were not p1 or platnium or whatever . so when i got to the front of the line they ran out of those hi touch paper things (i had p1 tix) so they gave us a sheet that had everyone on the line up and the circles bts as our hi touch opportunity!! (i still have this paper as proof) they took our names and numbers down too for some reason but anyways i was so fucking excited but when it was time for bts slot we couldnt hi touch them because rhe people inside working didnt know that we had the hi touch opp (cuz we didnt have the bts hi touch tix thing) so i got in and cried and CRIED. my friend even talked to the workers but they wouldnt let us hi touch. she was so pissed so we went back to the check in booth and alot of us (maybe like 15 ppl) were PISSED bc we wete supposed to hi touch bts but they fked up so we had to meet day6 instead.. if u look at the day6 hi touch on youtube u can see a last minute group hi touching them but we were supposed to meet bts. so yes rhats my story on why i hate kcon !! :3

This is a bit of a different review for me. First off these are actual paperback books I am reviewing. Secondly they are pretty old. A quarter century to be exact. So why am I reviewing them? That's a story in itself. I have always read a lot of romance novels, and this miniseries within the Harlequin Temptation series of category romances was one I remember enjoying a lot when they were released. Ahh summer.... I was 17, and I found rhe first one at a yard sale. I was riding my bike and the yard sale was at the SPCA. I liked it, but I especially liked the gimmick behind the series... the Fortune patriarch dies leaving his department store empire to his four sons, with the caveat that should any of them marry, they must forfeit their portion of the inheritance to the remaining brothers. The second and third books I aquired at the grocery store as was common at the time, but then disaster struck and I couldn't scrounge up the pocket change for the fourth one and I missed the release. So for 25 years I have kept my eye out for the fourth one in the Fortune Boys series. I really wanted to know how it turned out, dammit! Finding a specific Harlequin out of millions is easier said than done, so when I finally stumbled across it at a Value Village last week I may have cheered a bit loudly for some beat up paperback. My sister laughed and rolled her eyes at me. So all last week I read the Fortune Boys series and, well.... They don't really hold up. I am not terribly disappointed by this. I know my standards have changed and youth paints a rosy hue over things sometimes, so I am not heartbroken. As I said, the series revolves around the four brothers as they try (not very hard) to avoid romance. Meanwhile their meddling, matchmaking grandmother does all she can to find the boys true love. The boys are all vey different. Adam is a slacker playboy, Peter is an uptight company man, Truman is a motorcycle riding "rebel" and Taylor is a nerdy recluse. One thing I can say, none of the brothers fits the stereotypical romance novel mold, which is a good thing. I am gonna spoil these because the chance someone is gonna read these seems slim. But spoilers start here. *** The first book is about Adam and an amnesiac. He finds her in the department store during an event. It's really bizarrely unrealistic. They take her in and despite a total lack of chemistry, they fall for each other in a disturbingly short time. Laura, whose actual name is Eve, was pretending to have amnesia. As it happens, it was the grandmother's plot to get them together. Eve was sone random hookup Adam had had years ago that he forgot, and she had never stopped loving him. So I kind of puked a bit at this. She was basically a stalker. Really creepy to be honest. The book overall was kind of dull and most conflict could have been solved with Google or a cell phone. The sex was so euphemistic and short that I laughed. I remember Harlequin Temptation being marketed as the "sensual" line of romances, but this was.... not. At all. Book one gets a 4/10 and it's only getting that because of the setup and the fact that Adam was such a cheerful bum that I kind of liked him despite myself. The second book was head and shoulders the best one of the series. Peter is the CEO of Fortune's. He is a workaholic and VERY uptight. He gets hit by lightning and meets a doctor, Elizabeth, who is almost as uptight as he is. The events that follow were frankly, hilarious. This book was truly a gem. It was basically a crack fic as every possible thing that could happen does. They get hilariously cockblocked, Peter pukes on a rollercoaster, there's a runaway hot air balloon, and more. The chemistry seemed real, and i enjoyed watching both characters loosen up. The book was laugh out loud hilarious start to finish. The sexy bits were slightly better than the last one. The best one was the one where they get cockblocked, so even though it didn't pay off, I still liked it. There were still way too many euphemisms... I think MAYBE?? she gave him head at some point but I wasn't entirely sure. But despite that, this is a good book and I recommend it to anyone who stumbles across it in a used bookstore. 7/10 Unfortunately the follow-up book was very disappointing. It was about Truman and a Russian woman looking for her missing husband. Truman is supposed to be a rebel, but I guess being the new CEO of Fortune's since his brother got married straightened him out. But I don't think Tru was ever a rebel. He gives off mor of a sulky rich boy vibe instead. His rebelliousness is no deeper than his leather jacket. The book seems to be centered around Sasha's missing con man husband and the various international criminal organizations who are after some icon he stole from the recently de-Sovietized Russia. Remember, this is the 90's. This whole thing was very boring. Despite car chases and kidnappings i was bored senseless and skimmed a lot. I can't even explain the sex scenes because I cared so little for the characters that I honestly couldn’t give two shits whether or not they banged. 1/10 and the 1 is only for catching up a bit on how Peter and Elizabeth were doing. Finally we have Taylor's story. This was the second best book. Taylor was a nerdy genius. I don't know if the author ever met a real nerd before but... ok. Regardless I liked Taylor. He was nervous and unkempt and clumsy and sweet. He has been building this robot butler since the first book, and he wants to market it so enter Ali, the bubbly, loud, marketing consultant. She thinks if she turns Taylor into The Fortune Man he can sell anything, even the goofy robot. Although not as slapstick as the second book, there is a bit of that. It also has some surprising moments, and of course once Ali succeeds in transforming Taylor she finds he is greasy and slick and less lovable. The book was in rough shape, and the 20 pages fell out in my car, so I missed the climax but it was something to do with a beauty pageant. I read it later when i found the pages, but the magic was gone. But it was all in all predictable and sweet. Bla bla bla. And of COURSE it turns out that if all four brothers get married then they get the fortune back. SMH. The sex was a bit better in this. I found it improved overall throughout the series, although it never became what I would call hot. But it was sufficient and it happened, I guess. I give this one 6/10 for a cute, sweet, but ultimately forgettable romance. **** End of spoilers. **** Overall I give the series 6/10. Not worth the attention I gave it, but not too terrible. Very dated, but despite that kind of enjoyable. I will probably hang on to them as a set since I feel like getting them all was some kind of lifelong quest, but I wouldn't tell anyone to strain themselves trying to find them. Although if you happen to stumble across For The Love Of Pete, I suggest snagging that one. 6/10 Tess..... halfheartedly recommends. Barely.
