Random thoughts on Vice Versa ep 8
I wonder why it's so important for them to have the film made this year... I guess it's because they're scared they will either travel back to their own universe before they get to make it, or that one of them might die...?
I couldn't believe Talay was selling off those clothes so cheap - those amounts are not going to get a film made. He'll need to sell 50-100,000 items to get the kind of money they need. Thank goodness Tun/Puen stopped him...but also, how did Talay not question or realise it was him?!
I loved every appearance of Fuse this ep. As soon as I knew he was going to appear, I squealed to myself "Oh my god what's Fuse's shirt going to say?!" like a fricking child on their birthday.
I laughed out loud at 'Headbook'. I love anytime they do something slightly off kilter in the alternative universe. I was slightly disappointed then that Mek went in for a high five - couldn't they have done something slightly different like with the finger-counting?!
OMG I yelled at the screen when I saw Ae Perth. He's a fantastic actor and I can't wait to see him in his own series again. I also loved the plane-café location. I love the fact that it might have been used in the Y-Destiny eps with the other Perth actor and the actor Talay (and Yoon of course). I wonder if they chose it for that reason...
I don't even know where to start with the cats, the lions behind Mek with those plush red seats, and the Tay Tawan scenes. Madness. but poor kitties. Oh I need to gush about how FANTASTIC it is that kitten in Thai is 'nong meow'...(or something like that)!!!
AND I LOVE THAT MEK MEANS CLOUD! Thai nicknames ftw! Just all this word play is so great, and that it utilises both english and thai languages 👏🏼
Have you noticed that Puen keeps saying Talay's name after he says something to him...almost like an emphasis. I don't notice Talay doing it back so much if at all (he'll say Tun in a sentence or as a 'wtf?!'). So I wonder if, once Talay knows Puen's name, he will do the same pointedly - as a thing, as an acknowledgement that Puen kept doing it and now Talay can do it because he knows Puen's name… Well, I hope so...
Oh my god, they're so cute during the mirroring…I feel like I'm watching Jimmy and Sea sometimes. And someone said it reminded them of Pat and Pran's Oishi tea improvised dance...and yes, yes it does (because everything reminds me of bad buddy).
I can't believe I wrote this note after the mirroring: "I do feel tired at seeing Talay pull away from Puen though. I know there are reasons why but my god a kiss wouldn't hurt would it? Or at least to not pull away as though he's put off by the idea of kissing Puen. smh" and then the show went and GAVE ME THE KISS I SO DEMANDED NEEDED!
Ah, it was a fantastic ep.
(I didn't clock at first that the glitching was deliberate...but maybe that's because I'm so used to bad quality wifi where I'm staying that I thought it was either the streaming...or even on the video itself [sorry, gmmtv but your quality isn't top notch - sound issues, for example]...and I can see now that it's glitching because of the whole 'they've found their portkeys!' or even just 'they've fallen in love!'...but I think they could have done it a bit less subtle so that there wouldn't be so many of us going, "wait, what? that wasn't my shitty computer?!")

To honor that we are getting puentalay as dads in the next our skyy 2 episode.
Many of you guys not knowing what is going on in this series and getting confused with the whole different universes and body swapping thing.
✨I am here yet again to try to explain and spoil the series a bit.✨
get yourself something to snack on, a drink and make yourself cozy because here i go again.
btw read my last kali tries to explain my gear your gown here 😜
first of all a few trigger warnings: major charcater death (the accidents they had), minor character death, singing
...this time i spare myself the trouble going to IMBD to find the summary. And i go to the source with a slight editing from MDL
Tumblr media
Sounds pretty darn cool and easy plot to follow right? right? It kinda is. Two dudes have an accident and find themself in a new body and have to work together to get back to their universe. While also keeping the bodies they switched save and not feck up their lives.
I think the most confusing part of this series, ist the bodyswaps and all the characters. Which is much in the first few episodes, and p' nut did an good job trying to via visuals cutbetweens the characters in the same scene.
Lets go over the mainroles and some of the many guestroles we were being feed in this series.
Tumblr media
like this list also goes on and on
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lets start with the two characters that we are going to follow through this series.
Tumblr media
We first meet talay while he is on a job interview for BFB the firm he really wants to work as a colorist for. While he still is in this universe he meets puen twice one time when he waits with his friend gyo on the airport and the other time is when he helps out his other friend joe on a movie set (he plays a corpse).
After his accident while going swimming while drunk he travels universes and wakes up in a hospital in tess's body.
Tumblr media
Now we have puen, we first meet him on said airport where is getting of the plane. We gonna see the most cutest but also awkwardest meet-cute to ever meet-cute in a airport bathroom. (Don't look at me like that YOU WILL SEE if you watch IT okay?) He is a famous series actor, that still helps out on smaller movies. thats where he meets talay for the second time and gives him some little acting tips.
After his accident while driving drunk (are we seeing a pattern here?) he wakes up in tun/parkorns body while parkon was on a trip with his two best buddies and scriptwriting team.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now let me show you the other two characters, puen and talay swap places with in the other universe
Tumblr media
This is tess, we don't really get to know know tess maybe in the last episodes and from what talay hears from tess's friends and family.
The things we know is that he is a spoiled rich kid, that loves to go drink with his two best friends kita and fuse (also two spoiled rich kidz) and has a very colorful wardrobe.
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
This is parkorn, a screenwriter that works a million jobs to keep himself afloat. Because he and his two best friends aou and up are trying to write a script together, so they can show the the firm 26 pictures tess's dad owns, that they can write a good one. Had/has a crush on tess (don't look at me we all know love makes blind)
Tumblr media
These two are his best buddies. Up is the one that is good with writing comedy and aou is the one that is good at writing everythingelse
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And let us not forget the guest stars in oder of appearance in the show (usually, between one or more per episode. But there are some without any)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and the ones that appeared in more then 3 episodes
Tumblr media
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh we also have a color for each episode it was a wild ride everywekk which color would be the next one. There were so many post trying fo figure it out but now since it's ou and everyting we know them all.
Tumblr media
and they delivered with the colors, and put talay in all of these, it was *chefskiss*
And don't let me forget about the fucktons of sponsors this show had. At the time this aired together with the eclipse and to keep the eclipse as free without silly add scenes as possible. Took vice versa the the most of them and BOY where they wonderful, cheesy, cringey but good.
Tumblr media
It has a reason i am tagging vice versa post always with lays vice versa.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
...this time i'm really going to try to keep the plot short and easy to understand
the series starts with talay in a job interview with BFB where he talks about colors and what color he would associate with the interviewers (he associate one of them with brown like horse shit and well it works he gets the job but still hahah)
talay is kinda bumbed out because of that when he haning out with his friends. Gyo, one of his friends asked talay if he made the gift she needs the next day for her favorite series star.
the next day gyo and talay are at the airport and wait on a gate for said star to arrive. But they are at the wrong gate and have to hurry over to the right one.
We get the most cutest yet also very awkward meet-cute to ever meet-cute. The first meeting of puen and talay and the lama/alpaca bucket hat. (Pls everybody wash your hands after you go to the toilet don't be like talay it only works because puen was struck already)
Tumblr media
after this gyo tells talay that joe his other friend needs and extra for his movie, and because he still is waiting for an answer from his job interview, he says yes.
at the movie set, he has to play a corpse "..just be a corpse and lie down" this is also the place where talay meets puen for the SECOND time.
while filming his scenes (and fucking up many times that puen had to give him some tips) with puen talay gets a call from the firm he had a job interview with. AND THEY HIRED HIM 🥳
Cut to talay sitting at a bar with his pc and working on projects he needs to finish before he goes to work, while also getting very drunk
his friends pull him away from his work and drag him to the beach and the sea.
talay swims out a bit to far out and he gets a cramp in his legs and has his accident (i just love how there the screen flips upside down and you are like OKAY its happening)
Tumblr media
talay wakes up in a hospital bed and gets greeted by tess's parents the mom is worried and the dad is scolding talay about being very reckless.(oh yeah thats what tess also is very reckless and stupid)
Our dear beloved talay is very confused about all of this and tells these people that he has no idea who they are. Tess's father is not having any of this. The mom cuts in and makes talay fake cry so the father stop scolding him. (it works and is very hilarious)
after this he goes to the bathroom and sees that he no longer is in his body, and that the face that is looking back at him, is no longer his own but a guy named tess. (the cut between talays and tess is soo *chefskiss*)
the first thing he does after he realizes that, is that he tries to run away from the hospital, which he fails.
We meet kita and fuse for the first time, the bring "tess" some alcohol and tell him to drop the amnesia act. We get some info about the three of them, they are all no golden sons and that they "don't finish university soon" "because they would have to take over the family businesses, damn boring"
talay asked why there is no google and why he can't find the firm he is he as talay was hired for. Fuse tells him that there is only qooqle and that the only movie company that there is, is 26 pictures that tess's dad owns.
we meet a nurse that knows what happend to talay, because they whent through the same thing. This nurse was a male nurse in their universe and their name is dol. Dol promises talay to bring him to a place were he will get answers to all of his questions.
2 weeks later talay gets picked up by dol and they drive to the place dol was talking about. They encounter two men in a car that have a sign on their car that says "JUST MARRIED"(AkkTheo are married now) forcebooks guest-apperance.
They talk about what changed and what is still the same in their universe.
They enter a building where the association of thai citizens in the alternate world is located. You can only enter the association when you know the password. The password is some kind of line from a bl drama (the girlies love 2gether and are sarawat stans and most of them are from him)
We meet joob the head of the associaction, she will explain to talay how to get back to their universe
Tumblr media
find the person that matches you (your portkey) >> do the thing you need to do here >> dream >> go to that place >> get back to you universe
talay tries to find his match/portkey with zero success (he tried once standing in some kind of cafe with a shirt that said IF YOU KNOW ME SAY HI)
talay decides to look for his match in tess's surroundings, he finds a yearbook with a few pictures in it. One picture catches his attention, it's tess with another boy named pakorn, he reads the name of the person and tries to call him on the spot (talay you can't just call people you might not be that close to anymore)
fuse and kita beg talay to go out drinking, the bring him back to the club where tess got beaten up. Talay gets more infomation on what happend to tess that night, that someone nice called an ambulance for him.
talay wants to know who it was and kita and fuse try to bribe the barworker to let them look over the security cameras.
It was pakorn that called the ambulance for tess, talay is getting surer that pakorn is going to be the person thats going to be his match.
talay meets up with a friend from tess's highschool that knows pakorn. This friend looks like talays friend joe from his universe but his name here is parmote.
parmote explains to talay why he calls pakorn tun and after talays asks him where he could find pakorn/tun and parmote gives him a stack of business cards. And that today he is playing at a friends bar
talay heads over to said bar and learns three things:
counting starts at the thumb with one, if you hold up your pointer finger it means two.
that pakorn can't sing.
and beer is more expensive as wine.
talay tries to talk to pakorn, but he keeps running away from him, sad and exhausted he goes back home, where tess's big brother is waiting for him. The brother begs him to just atleast show up for work at the filmmaking company. Talay jumps at this opportunity.
because he meets pakorn here again, who is trying to sell a script he is writing with his friends. They argue and pakorn leaves again
..off to episode 2 (yeah all this was episode one..but you need this i think)
talay is really bummed that pakorn is still avoiding him and tries to get help from the dol and joob. Dol tells him that it it's like when you are hitting on someone, that you need to keep pushing
thats what talays does, he shows up anywhere pakorn is and tries to talk to him. At one of these events he meets parmote again and he tells talay that tess once hit on and dated someone pakorn liked and that this maybe the reason is why he avoids him.
talay still tries to figure out if pakorn also is a universe travler but he is walking against a wall.
he follows pakorn to a bar were he meets up with up and aou and is about to tell them that he didn't sell their script. Talay jumps in and tells up and aou that pakorrn is wrong and that he did sell the script to the firm.
we learn how the three of them became a script writing team, all three went there separately and got told off from tess's dads firm because their scripts were lacking things. The meet there and decided to show them that they can write a good script together.
Tumblr media
talay talks to dol that he is very sure parkorn is the one that matches him and also is a universe traveler. Dol reminds him that he has to test if parkorn is one of them and if not that talay has to move on.
but pakorn and his friends go on a month long trip to finish the script. The left their phones with the their barowner friend.
there are a few timeskips in here the story continues after this month, we see talay with tess's friends kita and fuse in a club, they tease him because he acts as if he got dumped.
talay meets the girl that he "stole from" pakorn, turns out he got dumped by her because she found out that pakorn liked tess and not her.
talay goes back to the bar and he tries to drink his sorrow away, the barowner tires to cheer him up that he could request a song. And he writes a whole ass letter on that little piece of paper on how he lost all hope of getting back.
as he gives the letter back to the owner, up and aou enter the bar with pakorn in in tow. But it is no longer the pakorn we meet because it's puen now.
Tumblr media
puen plays a the song miracle, that talay and him only recognize because it's from their universe.
we learn that pakorn had a car crash and thats how puen entered the universe. (trust me when i saw this for the first time i was HUUh)
puen and talay get to talk and both are very relived when they find out that they are both universe travelers. Talay promises puen to tell him all about this univerese and how to get back later.
talay asked puen what hes done for a living in the other universe, puen tells him that he was an actor but that he is not telling him his real name and that he should call him tun. And when referring to the body he is they should say pakorn so they won't get confused. (again when you watch it the first time your head goes why what okay? ?)
puen asked talay, if he ever runs into problemswhere he should go and talay (yeah he drunk) tells him that he can come to him. (at this point puen is already GONE, SIGNED SET DELIVERED HE IS TALAYS)
the next morning talay wakes up and finds an half nacked puen in his bed (don't worry nothing happend yet the only thing that happend was a whittle kith) he is only half naked because the room is to hot
talay was so drunk the last night, that he even tried to kiss puen and hoped thats how they could go back to their universe (puen.exe reall stopped working there)
Tumblr media
they eat breakfast and have a little conversation, where talay still tries to get puen to tell him his name. But he fails miserably
we get this legendary scene the "to be my wife, you mus endure"
and also we get the "You know what the first thing i going to say to you in our universe? Dang!"
they go to the association and fill out a little form to find they match faster. Talay is not happy about that because he thought what when i finds Tun he is done and done. Because he believes puen is his portkey.
They fill out the form and puen jokes around with his answers to cheer up talay a bit. After that they part ways for a bit to live their "new" lifes.
Talay gets a call from dol, telling him the matching is done and gives him a location where he should go. Puen also shows up ath the same location as he (trust me we all went omg yeeeeeeeeeees they haaaave to beeeeeeeee its faaaate seeeeeee)
We get the first romantic ad scene sponsored by the sugarfree icetea brand.
because both of them thought their are their matches they run away from the meeting point and their real matches can't find them (enter milk and loves guest apperance)
both puen and talay are not feeling it with their "matches" and ask dol for another test if they are the right one. They find a little maze. Dol tells they all have to go through the maze at the same time. And if you and your match find eachother at the same exit. They are your match/portkey.
milks and loves characters find eachother and the same exit. And so do Puen and Talay (the whole time when they are all in the maze you go like pls pls pls)
we find out that milks (som) and loves (pear) character clicked and are eachothers match.
Tumblr media
the two boys agree go scouting for locations for the maincharacter to hang out. We get the famous talay draws puens face scene. (that up later uses as their logo for their team)
they meet up with aou and up to discuss the ending of the movie they are writing, they decide on an open ending. Puen has to write the synopsis and the tagline for the movie, but he has no clue how to do that. Talay offers him help but puen declines, he can figure it out
5 days later and they have to present the script to tess's dad, but puen is missing and he has all the files. The boys try to reach him but no one can. Right before the meeting is chancled someone calls up, it's the police station udn guess who is there? A very drunk puen.
aou, up and puen have an argument about the promise they made with eachother when 26 picture first dind't buy their scripts.
talay asked puen what wrong with him and puen just answers, "i'm living my life the best that i can, as you suggested!" So he did what he never could do when he was an actor. Talay interrupts puen to correct his scentens " that he should live the best life of the body owner. Not spoiling himself."
Puen tries to apologize to his friends but he gets no reaction from them. He finds some notes that tells him more about the promise they made.
after a talk with talay, puen tries one more time to apologize to aou and up via a window. AND IT WORKS (i am still asking WH IS GONNA CLEAN THAT UP Heeee?)
talay and puen go on another scouting "date", where they follow a couple on their date, where puen and talay are trying to figure out if these two are for real are on a date. (these two totally are on a date.. i mean both couples were) We also get a little KFC ad scene.
they finish off their presentation at tess's condo and we get a another ad scene this time it's our favorite queen niveau acne care and it's in a bathtub. We get the cute " ..this can be used to wipe away dust, i should use it on your heart" line
they boys get to the new meeting for the script at 26 pictures, and they sell the script to tess's dad.
Tumblr media
the next time we see the boys all together again is when they meet up at a restaurant. And they try to figure out a name for their team. They all come to an agreement to call their team "FRIEND CREDIT" up even rented a "studio" for them (it's uptop of the very restaurant they were just eating at)
another timeskip it's 2 weeks later now, they boys are looking over the script and try to figure out something that the mainlead says to his love interest. Puen as the true sarawat stan he is quotes " you don't have to like me very much, just keep your heart open" line and everyone except talay are thrilled with this and they wanna use it in their film (well..puen is right, 2gether does not excist in this univerese..so there is no copyright stuff going on there)
we get a puen tries to make talay blush scene, but in the end talay makes puen blush
while driving talay home after a suprise test he had to take, the two of them find the perfect location for their film ending scene and also for their own love story.
they talk and joke for a bit, and then puen lets out the "..maybe the key to finding your portkey is love?" and "if you have to fall in love to get back" and "what if it's me" and "HOW ABOUT WE FALL IN LOVE WITH EACHOTHER???" (boy is already lost god save him)
Up and aou show up at the the location and up presents them their new folders with the drawing talay did of puen.
after that puen meets kita and fuse for the first time, fuse tries to bribe him for an acting job and kita and fuse try to make puen drunk, but talay is taking all of the drink for him and is in the end the one being drunk.
they end up at pakorns/puens flat, and its time for talay to tease puen for some mangas and a pair of pink shorts.
we get a cute little chocopie ad scene
puen has to be a photographer at a wedding of friends from pakorn. He invites talay along with him, when it's time to catch the flowers it's puen that catches them.
puen admits to the mc that he is infact hitting on someone, but that this person plays very hard to get while looking with the biggest hearteyes at talay.
puens hitting on talays era beings, but he always says after doing anything IT IS FOR THE SCRIPT which makes talay sad and confused. They have a huge argument and puen runs away and hides
talay after a talk with dol finds puen at ther special location we get another kiss
Tumblr media
FRIEND CREDIT finally start filming their first movie
puen meets an actor friend from their universe named pang (played by namtam) at the association. For a few episodes talay thinks that pang is puens portkey.
They promise eachother if any of them find their portkey they would still go back together. (we get the cute puen runs away like a little girl scene)
at the set of their film puen and talay see snow in thailand for the first time.
The film the boys wrote premieres and everyone is full of hope and excitement, just to get just negative comments and critics. (gun appears as third here but he is the only nice one everyone is missing khai)
the group is devastated after this and they disband for a while.
puen has a very livid daydream of him and talay living together (because he can't keep the flat he eh pakorn lives in)
talay visits puen at pakorns parents home (we see puen with an shavingcream beard it's hilarious) to play him some music and to tell him that he misses him (we get the "do you have any idea how long 12,960 minutes i wated for you felt like?" these boys and their times i am still yelling)
aou and up also sho up at pakorns home and they decide to try it one more time as a screenwriting team. (because they disbanded up sold the old studio they had, but to our boys LUCK there is an old RV in pakrons parents garden, that they just fix up and use as a studio then. Very convenient)
talay starts to fall for puen
joob and dol ask talay and puen if they could film a guide video for the accsociation. After a cute kfc scene we get informed that joob passed away, because the other person in their universe died.
Tumblr media
the boys meet at the new studio to discuss, what the new script should be about. Talay invited peng along to help them (And also because talay decided that puen should go back faster so he invited peng along so puen and her get to know eachother better and that puen can dream. Which is so hecking stupid but it's talay and he only wants puen to be happy and not to die)
they are going with a romantic NOT comedy (seriously i really would want to watch that movie okay?)
talay drops the "if we were eachothers portkeys we would be already back by now" (..yeah but you both haven't done the falling in love thing yet so you are very wrong boy)
talay is feeling really down when puen ditches him to do other things.
he visits puen again and we get the infamous carbo-narak scene ( i tell you tinn from msp watched this and made this his whole thing i bet he has a puen picture somewhere where he is like " we are really in it huh puen-poster?")
FRIEND CREDIT presents tess's father the new script and he is very happy. To celebrate this they boys go on a little trip
each of the writes down three wishes to hang it on the tree they want to achieve.
we get an amlost kiss between talay and puen, but it gets ruined by puen by asking if he can kiss him. (i am still to this day confused by this)
after a night of sulking talay visits puen again and tells him that he is going to withdraw from FRIEND CREDIT (this hecking felt like a brutal break up EVEN THO THEY WEREN YET TOGETHER)
talay gives tess's dad finished scrip of the movie, only to get told that there is not enough money to make the movie.
he find out that puen and peng are not eachothers portkeys
talay goes looking for puen and finds him infront of 26 studios yelling at the security guard. They hug and make up (the security guard behind the door must be like ohhhh 👀 🏳‍🌈!!)
Tumblr media
they boys need to figure out on how to make money for their new movie, talay tries selling tess's clothes on an headbook live (because i doesn't want aou,up or puen to sell things) kita and fuse are worried about talay because of this live. They say the are going to invest in their movie, if they can act in it ofc.
fuse tries to bribe aou to rewrite the role fuse is playing, but aou is not having it. (fuseaou my beloved)
they find a new director, when they meet him it turns out it is an old highschool.."friend" named mek (played by perth) of tess and pakorn. But said director is not on good terms with tess
mek tries to ruin the movie the boys tries to film out of revenge (just because tess ditched one role in a movie)
talay confesses to puen that mek looks like someone he liked in highschool. But puen is like i don't fear that he will take you away from him (talay and mhok almost held hands okay?? haha but also there will be jealousy)
Mek is making talays job as a producer really hard, makes him get an specific cameraman, tells him that they should edit the script again etc BUT he makes it work somehow. What makes mork real happy
fuse tries to get talay fo force aou to rewrite his character dr wayu (HA enchante called the soccer boy now is a doctor), but talay explains to fuse why that is not happening, because aou but alot of work into it.
while figuring out which cat to cast for the main lady, the encounter a delivery guy that totally looks like tay tawan and cast him for a role their movie.
mek confesses to puen that he secretly liked tess in highschool, and that "these feelings are coming back" (sad jealousy era puen)
mek wants to scout an art gallery with tess alone for a certain scenes of the movie. Puen also shows up to this scouting and soon feels like the third wheel. he goes moping in a dark galleryroom but gets found by tess all is good we get their BIG DAMN KISS AND LOVE YOUS IN THE END (hey boyfiends now)
mek sees them kiss and confesses that he already knew that pakorn aka puen had feelings for tess, but that he is suprised that tess aka talay also feels the same
they go out with aou and up to watch a movie and after that we get the pillow scene
fuse asked aou if could take him to the vet clinic so he can study his role better. Richboy works for a day shannanigans happen (mix plays the vet in question)
they celebrate pakorns birthday
talay and puen talk about going back to their universe, but puen let it slip that he wants to stay in this universe as long as he can (sad backstory time...but we won't get it from puen but peng is gonna tell talay)
they get in a fight about it, them being angry at eachother is also making aou and up tense and makes them also fight. (but don't worry they all make up in the end)
time for puens sad backstory time
time for fuse and aou to have a fight and a hurt animal bring them back together to work together to save the dogs live. (and yes the removing of a shirt was necessary)
talay is searching for puen to apologize and make up with him, but he can't find him. Up tells him were to find him.
puen is hiding on a island surrounded by water, talay is having a slight panic attack while putting his feet in the water because of the accident that got him here. but puen finds him and helps him to said island and they make up there.
back at their studio they celebrate their first anniversary of FRIEND CREDIT they give eachothers gift. Talay gifts them all buckethats..and well puen now realizes who his talay is (but talay still is in the dark on who he is loving, great riiight?)
Tumblr media
time for some adopting a pet together with fuse and aou (they call the dog lucky and it's soo cuteee) and we get this gem of a scene
their second movie premieres and this time the critics and the fans love the movie (puen and talay read them whil being snugled up in a bathtub like WHAT?)
talays world gets more and more pinker each day (as we know he HATES pink)
IT'S THE COLOR PINK THAT CONNECTS THEM THEY ARE EACHOTHERS PORTKEYS (sorry i am watching the scene right now and i just ahh the music the clips i am crying)
they say goodbye to dol in advance (is very emotional okay..bring tissues)
their new movie is gonna be shown not only at one film festival but two!
they go on a trip to the film festival, the night before they leave puen says goodbye to pakorns parents (next round of tissues)
after the festival is done, thegroup all read out all the wishes they had written down before puen ofc only lets talay read his
puen and talay say their goodbyes to their friends aou, up, fuse and kita
talay and puen sit together at an lake and talk, right before puen can tell talay his name, the later falls asleep.
talay DREAMS and is hyper to tell puen..but it's no longer puen its pakorn again
Tumblr media
to conclude the last two episodes of vice versa in a short form:
puen wakes up in an ambulance and is hellbend to find talay, he finds him but it is still tess in his body.
talay finds out about puens name and is hellbend to get to the place he dreamed off but the tide his making him wait over a month to get to the place he dreamed off.
puen visits tess just so he can look at his talays face (ohm in glasses is always a treat)
talay finally makes it back and finds out how tess fecked up his life. He is no longer a colorist for BFB, he was puens assistant but tess fucked it up also (what do we learn tess sucks..as talay and 90% as himself too)
talay begs BFB to take him back as a colorist and finds out that his boss is also a universe traveler. (they take him back ofc but on probation) He also has apologizes to his friends for whatever tess did to them.
talay gets some tickets for a movie premiere where puen also is. But he leaves before he gets a chance to talk to him. While getting some tim hortons he catches some of the livestream from the premiere he was on and hears puen talk about him and that he hopes to find him again.
talay goes to their speical location the greenhouse cafe and we get the dang scene
you can guess what they did next okay (even tho puen tried to pull and ..ohh i am not puen move but yeah they banged can't insert any more pictures BUT IMAGINE THE FISH GIF RIGHT HERE)
they eat breakfast and talay tries to make the conebread out of normal bread (I WANT TO SEE THE REAL THING TOMORROW ON TALAY FIGURING OUT HOW TO MAKE THEM HIMSELF)
puen is so in love with talay that he for e day forgets that he is a celebrity and that there a paparazzis he gets in a little drama of "puen kissing his old assistant?? puen LIKE MEN???"
to save puens career talay denies that they are together, but puen ain't having it and with the help of a video of a drunk talay explaining why he did it. THEY ARE FINALLY TOGETHER AND HAPPY
we get some "what is maybe happening over in the other universe" montage.
and talay finds their up and aou in their universe and befriends them.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I think thats it thats the PLOT of vice versa..okay with a few little things missing so you HAVE to watch it.
I hope this masterpiece of a series makes now a little bit more sense to any of you. Or if you are now even more confused. (if so then i would recommend to have this open while watching it)
i love vice versa and i am still very glad it was my first real real BL i watched (i am not counting kinnporsche) and if i every get the chance to recommend a show it will be definitely be this show (@petrichoraline yes i will say this show and not futs as you would have thought! ha ❤😘)
still i have no idea on how to end these things..so ehh
taging people

There's a comment on youtube which said along the lines, 'puen read tun's diary, he must've known about tun's unrequited love for tess, so by saying puen is gonna live tun's life to the fullest could also mean that he is indirectly fulfilling tun's wishes of been with tess too' how come this never crossed mind! Even though puentalay didn't explicitly state to others in that universe they had feelings for each other, pretty sure their friendgroups understood the signs. So to think when Tun comes back and find out that the people in their bodies had loved each other and were happy he must've felt a sort of happiness. Because even though tesstun's situationship related to the first switch between universes, their comeback had very little to do with each other. They switched back solely because of puentalay and them realising they are each other's portkeys. Thoughts monica?
MY THOUGHTS ARE THAT THIS SHOW NEEDS TO STOP BEING SO GOOD IT HAS LITERALLY RUINED ME FOR ANY OTHER SERIES LIKE HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MOVE ON WHEN NOTHING EVEN COMES CLOSE TO IT AND INSTEAD OF GETTING TIRED OF REWATCHING IT I KEEP FINDING NEW DETAILS THAT MAKE ME GENUINELY FERAL AND IN DESPERATE NEED TO CHAIN MYSELF TO A FENCE LIKE A WEREWOLF DURING A FULL MOON ✋😭
honestly i’ve never thought about puen fulfilling tun’s wish of being with tess specifically (WHICH. SCREAMING BTW), but i did think a lot about puen and talay trying to live tun’s and tess’ life to the fullest and being able to achieve all of their dreams while doing so. it’s hard to say if this was necessary to make them switch back, because im convinced that ultimately that’s due to puen and talay learning the lesson the universe thought they needed, but it’s also not a coincidence that they were given those specific bodies to inhabit, so i feel like they wouldn’t have gotten to that lesson without living those lives to the best of their abilities
idk how to explain this in a quick and coherent way because i have way too many opinions about portkeys and fate and choices and identity, but. like, everyone agrees that talay and tess switching back to their respective universe is all thanks to talay’s efforts (because tess literally did NOTHING), but i’ve seen a lot of people wondering if puen and tun switching back is due to one or the other. to me it’s clearly due to puen, not only because it happens at the culmination of his character’s journey (accepting himself and being finally ready to tell his name to talay), but also because tun, while obviously not ruining puen’s life LIKE SOMEONE ELSE DID WITH TALAY’S [SIDE EYES TESS], did not make it better either. when he comes back, puen is still alone. when he goes back, tun has achieved his dream of becoming a famous screenwriter and is in a relationship with tess. by using a stratagem like the travelling between universe, i think the show actually did a great job in showing the different attitudes someone may have towards life, not just your own, but other people’s too: you can live selfishly (tess), you can just survive (tun), or you can live life as best as you can (puen and talay). this is also why i get very annoyed when people watch vice versa and say stuff like ‘the concept was interesting but why they were making a movie rather than explore the fantasy part’, because THE FANTASY PART IS NOT THE POINT!!!!!!!! THE POINT IS WHAT YOU CHOOSE TO DO WITH THE LIFE AND THE TIME YOU’RE GIVEN!!!!!!!!! THAT’S THE MESSAGE OF THE SHOW AND THE GENERAL LESSON THEY ALL HAD TO LEARN BUT THAT ONLY PUEN AND TALAY REALLY UNDERSTOOD!!!!!!!!!!
anyway. not sure where i was going with this or if this makes sense but yeah i have way too many thoughts about this and all of them boils down to VICE VERSA SERIES OF ALL TIME PUEN AND TALAY CHARACTERS OF ALL TIME PUENTALAY RELATIONSHIP OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Were you named after anyone?
As far as I know no, in Italian my name means happiness/joy. But the name I chose for myself is named after the ocean ☺ (Talay means ocean/sea in Thai)
When was the last time you cried?
I've been crying at night, before sleeping. I spent a month with my girlfriend and going back to long distance on the other side of the planet hit me harder than a truck🧸
Do you have kids?
Nope, and I don't plan on having them. I'm already struggling managing myself lol
What sports do you play/have you played?
Many when I was little: swimming, tennis, basketball... my parents wanted their children to try many things but I've always been artisty and I stuck to ballet for 5 years, then paused it for a few and came back for another 2/3 years. Then I went for theater ☺🤸
Do you use sarcasm?
Me? No. I don't use sarcasm, I AM sarcasm. But depends on the language I'm speaking honestly (different language - different personality is a real thing lol)
What's the first thing people notice about you?
I've absolutely no idea, but for some reason they always get my vibe wrong. People think I'm cold and quiet but if they earn my trust, I'm very warm and love physical touch
What's your eye color?
Brownish? Idk people have told me they look orange at times (???) or green under direct sunlight 😃 Let's say a light brown? copper maybe???🤭
Tumblr media
Scary movies or happy endings?
I like both. Depends on my mood. (One of my fav series is scary with sad ending and all my fav movies are happy endings)
Any talents?
Some would say many, others would say none. I'd say I try my best in everything I do and talent is often a misused concept that only appreciates something you were born with instead of what you've worked hard on (even worse if people call talent the skill you've spend time and tears on)
Where were you born?
Milan 🙂 (fun fact I was kinda ☠ing and doctors had to remove my right kidney cause I had a tumor. All fine ever since tho☺👍)
What are your hobbies?
Many, I mostly make my hobbies collide with my growth in knowledge and working opportunities. Everything from writing, watching videos, playing videogames, listening to music, spending time in nature...
Do you have any pets?
2 meows 🐱🐱
How tall are you?
Shmall! I'm always the smallest one🥲 1,60 m 🤏
Favorite subject in school?
Def art class when I was little, then maybe math cause it has always been very easy for me. (But I used to love a subject depending on the topic and my own willingness to study it lol)
Dream job?
I'm trying to get a job as a 3D animator but it's hard. I just want to work in the cinema industry honestly 🥺 maybe travel from time to time...
Tumblr media
A bit late but thank you @meraki-yao for the tag, you're always lovely ☺❤

Ok, so I’ve been sitting with my thoughts for a couple of weeks now watching Vice Versa and now that we’re at the penultimate episode I think I’ve worked out what I actually wanted from Vice Versa.
I wanted a deeper reading of the concept. Because on paper the idea is very new and interesting but within the story it gets regulated to just a premise and then dropped. It’s like ‘What if two people travelled to another universe randomly?’ and then it moves into the actual story which is Talay and Puen falling in love. How to get back to their own universe isn’t actually anything they can have a hand in. They found each other and now they’re just waiting until they have a dream? If that’s the case then they didn’t even have to work hard to find each other because they were already in each other’s orbits due to Pakorn and Tess’ pre-existing relationship.
When what I actually wanted was ‘What if two people travelled to another universe and had to find their way back?’ Because only a handful of people actually travel to another universe after a near-death experience. Why? Why only these people?
I kind of wanted it to be something like… these people all have things that they need to overcome personally in order to return to their lives. So then finding your portkey is just the first step, and the second step is learning the lesson that the universe wants to teach them so to speak.
In Puen’s case it would be pretty easy. He doesn’t trust people and that is personified by the fact that he won’t give Talay his real name. Following that along, he can only go home after he lets his guard down and tells Talay his name (or decides to tell him if you still want to send Puen home before Talay with some angst).
For Talay it’s more complicated, but I think you could take something they touched on in the show and just expand it a little bit. Talay has an aversion to love but you could push that further to say that he doesn’t have a lot of close personal friendships and zero romantic relationships. He loves his work and what he does and he loves his family (you could have his brother in the place of his group of friends to show that he’s the person Talay is closest too) and he just… doesn’t feel like he needs any other connections? He's the kind of person who is lonely but doesn't realise it because he's convinced himself that he's fine? Then he gets thrown into Tess’ life where he’s not only forced to make connections with people to try and find his portkey but also Tess has friends who actually give a shit about him despite the fact that he’s a mess. Talay’s challenge is that he learns the value of friendships and ‘found family’ (plus it’s then kind of gut-wrenching when he has to give that up for his original universe).
You could even flip it onto Pakorn and Tess as well. If you want to go the bittersweet route than Pakorn’s lesson is that it’s time to properly let Tess go, while Tess’ could be about finding something to actually give a crap about. Or you could go the parallel route and have them resolve their issues with each other, and have that be the thing that’s been holding both of them back in their own universe. But, since they didn’t want to do a parallel story (which could have been really cool, just switching between four people struggling to get home/live someone else’s life) I would say go with the bittersweet option.
I do think having both stories might have helped with the pacing issues a bit because in my opinion Vice Versa had a strong beginning but it really started to lag in the middle where it just felt like a generic BL about people making a movie (twice! they had two whole ‘behind the scenes’ of a movie plotlines and by the second time I was honestly bored with it).
Overall, I think Sea and Jimmy are doing a really good job (and all the other actors too) and it's a very pretty show overall. I just wanted a story that was a bit more complex and adhered to the actual premise we were promised in the trailer.

If I wrote it — Vice Versa⏳
This tag is literally the whole reason I made this side-blog, so I’m starting it off right ^_^
Opinions on this BL are surprisingly divisive. It seems like everyone who watches it either loves it or hates it with no in-between. I fall into the former camp, I think the premise was really intriguing and it’s beautifully shot. I also really like Sea and Jimmy, I think they did a great job as the leads and have really good chemistry. Praises aside, I’ve got some criticisms too.
So, I can’t express enough how much I really do love the premise of the show— Two guys die and get body-swapped into a parallel universe, both need to try to live someone else’s life while also trying to find a way home, all while slowly falling in love with their sole companion from their original world? Adorable, sign me up lads. That being said, I don’t think past the first two episodes the show really capitalized on it’s potential— while it could have been more focused on the sci-fi fantasy setting, what it really wanted to be was just a romance set in an alternate dimension. And it accomplished that goal, but I can’t help but wonder what if?
So as the title says, If I wrote it, I would have gone a lot further with both the premise itself and the emotional impact it would’ve had on the characters.
First of all, I think it’s a pretty unanimous opinion, but the real Tess and Tun should’ve been the B-couple. I’m honestly shocked that they weren’t and that we only got the Alternate-Universe point of view with Puen/Talay while never checking into the OG-Universe and how Tess/Tun were dealing with their lives! So much potential just unexplored U_U
PLOT WISE: the portkey. I would have made the portkey, as a concept, a total mystery. Like, we are told that the characters need to find it in order to go home, but that none of the refugees from the OG-universe actually know what it is. Because everyone who finds it goes back home before they get the chance to tell the rest of the universal travellers. And the Alt-Universe travellers only recall having a dream about it but that once they got home they completely forgot it. The mystery of the portkey should have been the driving force of the plot instead of the Friend Credits movie-making pursuits.
More flashbacks to Talay’s old life. The goal of going home would have had a lot more impact if the audience could see why Talay loved his life so much. Show him missing his friends and family. Have him struggle with his relationships in the Alt-Universe because he’s technically lying to the people in Tess’s life, passing himself off as him because the truth makes him sound crazy. But the longer they’re stuck there, the more guilty he feels for replacing Tess and having Tess’s friends and family replace his real ones.
I would have had Talay and Puen learn more about Tess and Tun’s lives, like what kind of people they were, and what they were struggling with. Talay— king that he is, made a real effort to turn Tess’ life around, which is great! But I would have appreciated just a little more detective work about why Tess’ life was like that in the first place before Talay went about fixing it. Puen could have learned the reason that Tun was in love with Tess despite Tess being kind of an asshole. All four of them are sharing each others bodies, I think it would have been a cool way to connect them to each other by having them learn more about each other, since they can never meet face to face.
The decision whether or not to go back to the OG-universe. For as much as Talay wanted his life back, Puen should have made the point that they have no idea what lives they’d be going back to. Puen’s life was empty and lonely which is why he didn’t mind not going back, but he never brings up the possibility that the real Tess may have completely destroyed Talay’s life (which he kinda did in canon). He might have done so much damage that Talay might never be able to achieve his dream, he may have ruined all his relationships, Talay’s life as he knew it might be over. So why not stay there, in the Alt-universe where he has friends and family who love and support him, where his dream is his for the taking, where he and Puen can be together and in love? I was surprised that the fear of the unknown, the risk, wasn’t a part of the conflict and that Talay was so sure he’d be going back to a life unchanged by his absence.
Tess messing up Talay’s life should have had actual consequences that couldn’t be fixed in less than a few days.
More interaction between Tun/Talay and Tess/Puen when the switch happened. I really wanted to see them catch each other up on what they’d missed in their lives, their reactions would’ve been amazing!
Like, again I can’t believe this didn’t happen in the show but, someone in their lives should have figured out that Tun and Tess had been replaced! Up and Aou are the obvious choices. It would have made Talay/Puen’s friendships with them even more meaningful because as much as they would want to help them get home and get their original friends back, the members of Friend Credits would be forever separated. It would’ve been even more sad for all of them to say goodbye.
I would’ve had Tess/Tun’s actors pop in briefly in every episode, just to remind the audience what Talay/Puen look like to everyone else. It was easy to forget that part of the premise with JimmySea always playing the roles
And those are all the changes I would’ve made to the story if I wrote it! The set-up for Vice Versa was so intriguing, but I guess it was too ambitious of an idea for the showrunners to really capitalize on. Oh well, what we got out of JimmySea was still worth watching in my book. It may not have lived up to its potential, but it was a fun ride all the same!

On Vice versa episode 11:
First of all, great episode, I loved it. This and the last one were my favourites by far. I think all we saw related to TunTess made sense and was explained correctly, the only thing I found weird was Tun and Talay not talking at all about what happened in each other lives. I’m dying to know what happened in the original universe but I understand if we don’t get it.
I know it was like three seconds but I loved Sea and Nanon together, idk why but I feel like they would have good chemistry, I wish we could see them acting together for real in another show in the future.
And maybe it’s wistful thinking but I feel the ‘we have to stop travelling between universes’ was bait. They’re not coming back, it’s the finale there’s no time for that kind of conflict.

Why I don't watch "vice versa" any longer
I think this is in general a very common GMMTV problem and I really hoped "vice versa" would just hit different but sadly it disappointed me in the same way other shows did: the main couple became boring.
"Vice versa" has a very interesting universe. The overall idea of people traveling between universes to live on in other bodies and lives is really exciting. It caught my attention right away to follow the main lead through his struggles and discovering new parts of his personality and what he is capable of. They learn more about themselves than ever before.
GMMTV usually throws characters into new settings and if it's not the college life, it's something totally different and unfamiliar. It catches the audience, they bite and are sucked in the fandom.
The writers want to tell me, Puen and Talay aren't ready yet, when in fact, they so obviously are. It feels so forced. Like Talay is holding back because he's not sure but I feel like he originally was a character who acted, at least he seemed like that the first episodes. I am very confused why the characters suddenly have character traits they originally didn't have and lose once they get together with the other main lead. It ruins everything and it's not good, so I lost my interest and got annoyed every week since the story didn't move forward.
But then follows the first problem: the pacing. See, the problem is, I was 100% sure Talay and Puen were sure of their feelings after episode 4. They even kissed but nothing happened afterwards even though they knew there is a mutual attraction. These two have become best friends, tell each other everything and share a deep connection, yet they spend another 4 episodes with pining and no growth whatsoever. Since their story doesn't move forward, all the other episodes feel like filler-episodes where everything else happens but nothing between the main leads. Then follows a very misplaced act of jealousy which is just a low point because it is so unnecessary. Talay and Puen already reached a level of intimacy where unreasonable emotions without communication don't exist any longer, so this whole Pang-thing is completely senseless. But that's the thing, it feels like the writers just keep us from finally seeing them together and kiss or do anything romantic in such a lazy way one can't call slowburn. They already kissed, flirted and wanted to move in together. So when they had their real kiss last week, I couldn't care less. I am not invested any longer.
It's another GMMTV problem: the love stories are not attatched to the story. Every story has a protagonist, of course and in these BLs, it just so happens, there's a love story as well. The thing is, the love story and the overall plot move in very different pacing. When the plot moves forward, there is no love story and when the love story moves on, there is no plot development. It is very tiring because one doesn't know what to root for any more. Should I be invested in the plot or the love story? Because these two are different things and the love story doesn't interfere with the plot. But the best shows like "Manner of death" or "KinnPorsche" have a love story that is intertwined with the overall plot and it all happens at the same time. Everything moves forward in the same pacing but with "vice versa", that's not the case. They try to split the show into two main focuses instead of letting everything move along with the plot. It's all very mixed and uncoordinated.
And then there's the probelm with the plot: it's very obvious. It's no longer exciting to wait what's gonna happen because the introduction of this universe was very thrilling but it was all explained the first episode. We know they are gonna go back and meet again even though Puen wants to stay in this other universe. What makes an exciting plot is that it's not obvious from the get go. You don't know what's gonna happen right from the start. But "vice versa" explained the whole portkey thing immediatly and had Puen move in slow motion, so we all know what's gonna happen and that he is the other main lead. Then we have Puen even wording it more than once - that he is Talay's portkey - so everyone gets it. That's just boring in my eyes. Like I don't need to know the outcome right away, not in a fanatsy show like this. Not in a show with an alternate universe with other rules. No because then it's no longer exciting and the story is worn out from the start. There's nothing more to explain and nothing more that could surprise us.
This is something I observed with GMMTV shows. That doesn't mean they are all bad, it doesn't mean other production firms have better shows. I just consumed a lot of GMMTV shows these past years and I felt like this a lot with GMMTV shows.

For the sake of clarity in my head. In the very first episode, Talay was told by Phuwadol and Jupjaeng that to return to one's own universe, what one must do is;
Find someone who has traveled universes just like us. There will be something of them that matches you. Once you find that person, you will dream. What you will dream about, is a place. When you dream about this place, you must immediately go to this place as soon as you wake up. There's the chance for you to go home.
About how one can find out if another person is a match, what was said was:
There will be a sign. When you have found them, you will feel it. For example, you might share the same interest. You may both have moles or marks in the same area on your body. You may have a brief memory together that you might not remember. There is a 99.9% chance that the person we're looking for, is close to the owner of the body we're in.
When Talay asks do we just die in this universe if I can't find this person, Jupjaeng answers with "Not always." (We all know how that went. Sobs) She further explains that it's possible that you might get lucky if the person in your body dreams and returns back to their own universe, you automatically switch back. But there is the caveat that if they die in the other universe, you also die in this universe. And vice versa, I presume.
************************************************************************
So, some things are very clear, some things are remarkably ambiguous. Disappointed, but not surprised. Taking into account this is an adaptation of Jitti Rain's work.
What is abundantly clear is that, the portkey must be a person from the same universe you're originally from. Unless there's some information being withheld, it's not "a portkey", but "a pair of portkeys" always. They will each facilitate the other's return to their own universe.
I think everyone and their mother by now definitely thinks Puen and Talay are each other's portkeys and for good reason but also, I want to know how we've arrived here and where we go from here. Because if they're each other's portkeys, why is it that it has not activated yet? And I don't think it is because Puen hasn't told Talay his name and identity or because Talay hasn't come to terms with the fact that Puen is his portkey. Or even that, they must remember their encounter from the original universe for it to activate. If any of these happen to be the case, that would be shoddy writing, I feel. I cannot foresee the drama's take on the matter, but ideally if Puen and Talay have fallen in love with each other, this is in spite of them being each other's portkeys or some distinct thread of fate that ties them.
While I do greatly love the theme of they were meant to love each other, that they would have fallen in love with each other regardless of how they met. And I do think Puen and Talay are that. But I think this is entirely separate from you must and will fall in love with the person who's your portkey because that means you're soulmates or some such vague notion.

Vice Versa ep 12
IT'S THE LAST ONE FOLKS!
So I really did go a bit feral with the theorising over what the last colour theme would be...and it wasn't a complete surprise that it was Crystal Clear since 'transparent' had been suggested - after all, there had been details in ep 11 and throughout the series that hinted towards this.
Anyway, during the ep, this theme of Crystal Clear can been seen in the way Puen and Talay are being open and honest with each other, and with the information they offer to the other universe travellers, and in Talay's honestly to Gyo about his relationship with Puen as well as his drunken confession to Puen. Puen also had to grapple with being asked of his private life - and being told to cover up his relationship (in a 'glass house' of all places) but instead deciding to be transparent about his feelings to the press.
To reflect this, a lot of the colours in the beginning of the ep are pale tones, creams, whites, and greys, or very neutral, with only a few stronger colours here and there.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There were also small bits of red in the beginning, but either just momentary (top left and bottom right below) or subtle (bottom left, with the purple/pink of the plastic covering, or top right, with the letter box and in the car - just look how glorious that pink trumpet tree is, imagine how beautiful it could have been had we seen it in bloom 🌺). This is similar to how the show used red/colours more sparsely in ep 11 as a distinct contrast to the 'colour-world' of the alternate universe. Also I loved that the first time the main background colour wasn't just creamy/white was in the association - a call back to how colourful the alternate universe was:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then things got interesting. First, alone in the restaurant (apart from the sax player and the wait staff of course), Puen gives the folder and t-shirt to Talay - reminders of their time in the alternate universe - and their world becomes full of colour, albeit mainly neutrals, browns, blues and yellows. The only noticeable 'red' tone, being their pink drinks.
Tumblr media
And second, upon a closer re-watch, I noticed that the ep seemed to be loosely divided into three parts, with each third having it's own highlighted colour...and being bridged from one to the next by scenes infused with a lot of brown - which I'd like to think is because it's showing the seriousness of those moments... Anyway, the first third, as I've said above, is more neutral or pale in tone, and covers the time up until the live-stream interview. The second third covers the time of Puen and Talay's estrangement which followed the interview.
Now, in past episodes where Puen and Talay have had a similar separation - whether physical or emotional - red/pink became mostly absent until they reconciled (ep 6, ep 7, and ep 9). However, in ep 12, they did...wait for it...THE OPPOSITE!...alright...VICE VERSA!! In that, when Puen and Talay were dealing with their separation, we got more blocks of red. First with Puen's manager (embodying the STOP and 'facing reality' interpretations of red) and the pink sofa (also note all the brown!):
Tumblr media
Then with Tou's cardigan (matching Talay's blue on Tup) and the huge red curtains behind Talay, reminders for Talay about the reality of his and Puen's love (which Tou and Tup emphasise in recounting seeing Puen look for Talay):
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And with Gyo's pastel pink top (matching the blue in the background) - whose idea to film Talay and get the usb to Puen enabled them to reunite - and Puen's own red top, which he wears during the glasshouse interview and back at his apartment:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Although there's very little visible red when Talay gets caught by the press (only the letter box again), he is stood in front of the pink trumpet tree - which is poignant since he is having to deny his love for Puen when the symbol of their relationship is towering over him (imagine how great this scene could have been if it had been in bloom!).
Tumblr media
But then Puen makes a choice (albeit fuelled by Talay's drunken confession). He goes against the script given to him by his manager and declares his feelings for Talay and intentions with their relationship to the world.
And here we shift into the last third and the predominant colour becomes blue - starting with the press conference, where Puen himself is in dark blue and many of the press also have shades of blue. I love the setting of this with the white face with open mouth behind...and the inside of the mouth being a bright red - Puen is speaking his truth, his reality...and into a red microphone too.
Tumblr media
Then at Talay's home, both Puen and Talay are in blue (and note all that brown again)...

And later again in lighter blues (when their worries are more alleviated), when they visit the last place they were together in the alternate universe...but this time with hints of red/pink in the car as well.

At the very end, although neither are in pink/red or blue, Talay says that Puen "paints his life pink forever"...I think that we can also read into this later use of blue that the same applies in reverse -> Talay also paints Puen's life blue forever. No?

Lion
By Desiree Dale M. De Leon
The movie that is based on a true story was begin with Saroo a five year old boy who has a brother named Guddu they sneak and steal coal. They sell the coal in Khandwa Village where saroo sees jalebi and his brother promise him that he will bought one someday. After that they return to their home where their sister namely shekila and their mother Kamla was there.
The next day, Kamla leaves to collect rocks which she does for a living. Guddu is going to leave for a week then Saroo asks him to take him along. At first guddu doesn’t want his brother to come with him but then he agrees to let saroo come along. In arriving the train station saroo wants to sleep so his brother decide that he will come back and he will just going to check on the work. A few moments later when saroo wakes up he find and look for his brother until he goes inside the train. The little child fell asleep and when he wakes up again the train was moving. He called for help then the rain stops at Calcutta. Saroo becomes a street children in calcutta until he is sent to an orphanage. Soon, Saroo is selected to be adopted by the Brierley family in Tasmania. He meets his adopted parents, John Brierley and his wife, Sue. Two years go by and now they adopt a second boy from India, named Mantosh. But the young Mantosh is very standoffish and requires a lot more patience than Saroo.
Saroo goes to Melbourne for his course and met Lucy. They’ve both walk to a party the other students ask saroo where he’s from and he says Calcutta. Saroo goes in the kitchen and notice the jabelis that causes him to have a flashback. Eventually he admits he isn’t really from Calcutta where in he got lost and couldn’t know how can he go back to their village. Someone suggests he research how fast trains go and estimate how many he was on the train to figure out how many miles he traveled. Another girl tells Saroo about Google Earth, a new site at the time which allows users to search the world through satellite images. Saroo begins doing the math to calculate how many miles from Calcutta he was. Until one night, Saroo is on Google Earth looking at all the places inside the giant circle he's pinpointed as his possible village. This leads him to the village that he used to run home to every night. It is a suburb called Ganesh Talai. Saroo travels to Ganesh Talai in hopes of finding his mother, sister, and brother, even though its been 25 years since he knows they last resided there. He makes his way to where he used to live and sees it's now used as a pen for goats. A man who is multilingual approaches and Saroo tells him he is looking for his mom and his siblings, Guddu and Shekila. The two make their way through the village until they stumble upon a group of women walking home. One of them is an older woman who is clearly his mother.
She recognizes him as her son; they hug each other and cry. Her mother introduced him to the now grown Shekila. Saroo asks where Guddu is but everyone becomes somber then the man told him that Guddu is with God. Guddu died when he left Saroo and walked on the train tracks unfortunately he was hit by a train. At the end of the movie Saroo also learned he had been mispronouncing his name his whole life his name is actually Sheru which means LION.

Guide Questions
1. What life lessons can be learned from the movie?
Everything happens for a reason. Nothing occurs by chance, It’s all part of God’s divine plan. Learn to trust it and go where he leads you.
When saroo lost and became one of the street children I believe that it happens for a reason that god has a better plan on him. Eventually he got adapted he made a life in Tasmania, Australia. Through the help of his un-biological parents he grew up and became a good man. To cut the long story short all of his struggle in searching her true family was worth it and really a right time
2. What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?
When Saroo visits his parents' home and has a conversation with Sue, She reveals she could have children and she didn't adopt him because she had no other choice. Sue explains that she married John because they were of like minds and both agreed there were too many people in the world and they'd rather be parents to someone who needed saving. I am really touched in this scenario because sue was so selfless and think about the kids out there who needs a parent to love and take care of them as she do.
3. Who was your favorite character in the movie and why?
My favorite character in the movie was Sue the mother of saroo because she’s a wonderful woman where in she said “there are enough people in the world, but to take two boys who are suffering and give them a chance in life, that’s something.” Well As for me I’ve always had a soft spot for children in need and maybe that’s the reason why sue is my favorite character because we have something in common.
4. Did anything that happened in the movie remind you of something that has occurred in your own life? Or that you have seen occur to others?
When a lady named Noor helped saroo I’ve reminded something that occurred in my life, but this moment does not goes with the exact scenario where Noor and her accomplice plan to sell Saroo into sexual slavery. I’ve experienced helping a child also I can’t forget this day because it was my special day when a boy approached me and seek for a food. I gave him a food to eat and in return he gave me a necklace that is full of flowers.
5. If you had a chance to ask a character in this movie a question, what would it be? I would ask sue if what can she says to the kids and parents who have a problem that are exactly or a bit the same with the experience that happened in their family and to those parents who are planning to adopt a child.

hi Monica! is it okay to ask for an little more (maybe indepth) explaining on how puentalay and tesstun switch back to the og universes? So tun dreamt of place and the location ended up been in his film site the next day. So did puen dream too or was their respective switch happen due to tun. And we saw that talay say he dreamt of a place as soon as he wake up but it wasn't some place near by or easy to to reach. Does this have some symbolism or meaning and do u think tess also dreamed the same night too. So did the switch happen cuz of talay and tun
hello, dear anon!!!!
of course that’s okay!!!! as a general rule, please feel free to ask me anything, im always up to help if i can or even just to chat a little!!! tho it might take me a while to reply, as you can see ;;;;;;;
before getting into this, however, i think i should point out that the show doesn't really give a full in depth  explanation on how the switching back to the original universe works (probably because the novel itself does not give much of an explanation either), and while i do think the show tried to make sense of it by giving us a few more hints to help us connect the dots (which is one of the many reasons why i think the show is far more superior than the novel btw), the truth is that a lot of it is still up to interpretation. so what i can do is give you my own personal view on the matter, which doesn't necessarily mean it's the right one. im aware i tend to read too much into things and that maybe i've come up with an explanation that it's more complicated than it actually is, but im still gonna try to illustrate it as best as i can and let you decide if it works or not!!!!!
SO. right from episode 1, dol and joob introduce us to the two main rules that are known about traveling back to your universe, which are:
"to return to the old universe, you must first find someone who has traveled between universes like us. there will be something of that person that matches you. once you find that person, you will dream.”
“it will be a place. when you dream about a place, you must go there as soon as you wake up. there's a chance for you to return home."
if we go by these, things seem to be fairly straightforward: talay met puen, he eventually dreamed about the secret island, he went there, he switched back; tun met tess, he eventually dreamed about the pool where they were filming a movie in, he went there, he switched back. simple, right?
however, the more you look at it, the more i think it’s natural to come up with a whole lot of questions like if you dream after you find your portkey, why didn't puen and talay dream right away? did they have to reach a certain level of connection to 'unlock' the ability of being each other's portkey? but then what caused talay and tun to finally dream? did puen and tess dream too? and if talay/puen and tess/tun are portkeys, why didn’t they switch together?
as i said before, all these questions remain unanswered in the novel, but the show adds a layer to the universal travelling that i personally think it helps explain a lot. in episode 6, joob says
"i do believe universal traveling happens for a reason. maybe it's a lesson for us to learn something we're missing."
this idea is brought up again by talay at the end of episode 12, when during his voice over he says
"p'joobjang once told us we travel between universes to learn something. for me, i learned about love."
if we look at universal traveling under this point of view, i think a lot of things start to make more sense, and we can also answer a few of the questions we previously had. after you die, you travel between universes because you need to learn a lesson. for puen, it was about accepting himself and the life he was given. for talay, it was about love. only once you've learned your lesson you're gonna switch back. in this scenario, your portkey isn't what 'unlocks' your ability to go home, but rather it's the person that can help you learn said lesson. and if we look at it this way, puen and talay WANTING and CHOOSING to be each other's portkeys gets a whole new meaning too: puen loves talay, talay accepts puen for who he really is, and by wanting and choosing each other they also accept the lesson they were supposed to learn
here's when things get a little bit messy (and i probably read too much into things ;;;;;;). so you have to learn a lesson. but to go back to your original universe we know you also have to dream about a place and go there. so you learn your lesson, and once you do you finally dream about a place, you go there, you switch back. following these rules, it indeed seems like the switch has been due to talay and tun since they're the ones who dreamed, even if you don't know what tun's lesson was. i definitely think this is perfectly reasonable, and we could stop here and call it a day, however to me it's not so simple, mainly for two reasons: 1) the switch between puen and tun literally happens at the peak of puen's character development, once he's fully learned his lesson and shows it by finally being ready to tell talay his name, so it's hard for me to see it as a simple coincidence, and 2) maybe it's gonna sound harsh, but to simply put it, this is not tun's (and tess') story, it's puen's (and talay's), so on a narrative point of view it's just weird to have someone else be responsible for the switch
so here's what i think (hopefully i can explain it in a way that make sense ;;;;;;): usually, when you're taught a lesson, you will also have to take a test to show that you've really learned it. puen's test is to face his worst nightmare: being back in his original universe with no one waiting for him. talay's test is to be willing to give up everything for love: losing time and energy by having to wait day after day for the tide to get lower. and while i do think dreaming and going to a certain place is necessary to switch back after learning your lesson, the reason i think puen didn't dream is because that would have defeated the point of his test (if he had dreamed he would have known he was gonna go back and he could have prepared himself for it), so tun dreamed (and went to the designated place) for him
im aware it's a reach, but it makes sense to me, especially because of the place tun dreamed of: a pool. this is already long as hell so im not gonna into it as much as i could, but let's just say that in vice versa water is a recurring theme that carries a lot of different meanings. one of those is that it represents puen and talay's relationship as a whole (in episode 7, the tide at the secret island is low because they haven't cleared up their feelings for each other yet; in episode 9, the tide is getting higher because they confessed to each other but there are still things left unsaid; in episode 11, the tide is at its highest point because puen and talay fully love each other with no secrets left between them [and talay has to dive in the ocean, in their love, to get to the secret island and be able to go back]). but water also represents talay and puen separately, with natural bodies of water being related to talay and artificial man-made ones (like a swimming pool) to puen
ANYWAY. there are still some holes in this theory and there's so much more that i could say about it, especially about the water symbolism and how i personally think 'the Universe' is a sort of sentient force in vice versa, but we would be here for ages so im just gonna shut up. if you, anon, or anyone else, even got to this point after reading though this mess you honestly deserve a prize ;;;;;; (i can offer cookies and all my love?)
but yeah, i hope this was at least interesting, if not coherent, and i'll let you decide if this is a somewhat reasonable explanation that could actually make sense!!!!!!

1. What life lessons can be learned from the movie?
If you really want something in your life, don't ever give up because that something will eventually become yours if you believe in yourself. And also technology is really helpful nowadays.
2. What part of the story told by the movie was the most powerful? Why?
When Sue said that they wanted the two of them in their lives. That they want to take suffering guys like Mantosh and Saroo to have a chance in the world. I find this lines powerful because this tells us that no matter how hard we are experiencing right now, we still deserve a chance.
3. Who was your favorite character in the movie? Why?
Sue Brierley is my favorite character in the movie. She really defines a a true mom. He treasures Saroo and Mantosh as her own. She accepted and supports the decision of Saroo and most of all, he accepts and care for Mantosh for who he are.
4. Did anything happened in the movie, reminds you of something that has occured in your life or others?
The moment when Saroo tear the maps and think that he was about to give up to find home but in the end he found it. That part really reminds me of something, about giving up.
I am a student athlete and I must manage my time for the training. One night, I went home past 8 because of the training. My mind was enclosed by our quizzes the next morning. I thought that when I got home I can finally review my notes but hey I can't. I still have to wash my clothes, cook our food, and our assignments. Past 11 when I finished all my task and I fall asleep. I didn't review. I went to school without reviewing. As I sat on my chair in our room, I quickly scanned my notes bevause I just have 30 minutes before our quiz will start and what's worst is that we have consecutive quizzes. I thought I almost gave up reviewing cause I'm still sleepy but hey! Luckily, I passed it.
5. If you have given a chance to ask a character in this movie a question, what would it be?
I would like to ask this question to the person who first brought Saroo to her apartment. I ever that Saroo didn't run away, what will you do to him?

your horny puen thoughts oh my god give me more
SFJKSGFJSGJKSH i swear i don't want to be that person but every time puen opens his mouth he ends up saying the most unhinged things and i just [HEAD IN HANDS] YOU CANNOT BLAME ME FOR ANYTHING IM GONNA SAY AFTER THIS TAKE IT UP WITH EVERYONE INVOLVED IN THIS SHOW THEY'RE THE DERANGED ONE FOR PUTTING THESE THINGS INTO IT
like, they honest to god put hints of sugar daddy/daddy kink in the show???? which admittedly took me by surprise but it actually makes SO MUCH SENSE for puen's character, because it's true that he never had anyone taking care of him so that’s something he craves, but he also never had anyone HE could take care of: no parents or siblings to dote on, no friends to cherish, no lover to spoil…. but now he has talay. and if there’s one message the show has REALLY been set to get across is that puen LOVES to see talay enjoy himself and the things he likes, especially when puen is the one to provide those things for him. a clear example is given by all the times puen buys talay food or just straight up feeds him. he also likes to drive talay around and give him flowers and buy him gifts
it’s not hard to imagine how this can translate into their sex life. i honestly genuinely sincerely truly believe that puen gets off on pleasuring talay. i really can’t think of anything that would give PUEN more pleasure than having talay under him and taking his time to explore every inch of talay’s body (touching it, kissing it, licking it, biting it), until he finds every single spot that makes talay moan and fall apart. puen would revel in the feel, sight, smell, and sound of talay, he’s been wanting to eat talay out for so long (and THEY CONFIRMED IT) im pretty sure the first time he actually gets to do that he’s gonna come untouched just from the feeling of talay’s body trembling through his orgasm all around him
puen’s scent kink also means that he’s gonna steal talay’s clothes all the time, especially when he’s travelling or spending the night out because of his job and he’s missing talay so much he needs to be surrounded by talay’s scent to help him sleep (and im pretty sure puen jerked off more than once while holding one of talay's shirt against his face but you haven't heard that from me)
last thing im gonna say before hiding myself out of shame is that puen clearly has a thing for talay’s neck and for manhandling him. i haven’t made a proper post about it, but i swear i have an embarrassing amount of screenshots (i swear im normal) of puen grabbing talay by the back of his neck. most of the times it happens when they’re kissing, with puen using that as a way to pull talay in. and then there is his OTHER favorite way to pull talay in, which is grabbing his arm. it’s hard to show this through screencaps, but go look at the way puen grabs talay in ep 5 (part 1) and ep 10 (part 4). it’s, frankly, a lot. i wouldn’t be surprised if it turned out that puen likes to push talay around a little and to squeeze and mark his neck a lot during sex, doesn’t matter if he tops or bottoms (i do think they switch btw, i mean the show is literally called vice versa. but srsly, even if puen is into the sugar daddy thing and loves to take care of talay, there are moments where he wants to be taken care of too, and when talay becomes more bold puen is definitely gonna be putty in his hands)
IM NOT EVEN GONNA TOUCH ON THE FACT THAT IN EP 10 PUEN THREW /REWARDS/ INTO THE MIX BECAUSE I NEED TO MANTAIN AT LEAST SOME SEMBLANCE OF DIGNITY JUST KNOW THAT HE IS HORNY AND INSANE
in conclusion:

When you start watching vice versa and the idea of a 'portkey' is brought up in the beginning, our usual initial reaction and thought process for it would be to think 'oh portkeys! I bet the plot is to try make the two characters fall in love and make them finally kiss and they'll be able to go back' and that this is another cliche predictable fantasy plot but no! See this is why this show is impeccable because then we see right after the first ep they make the two protagonist share a kiss completely debunking this fairytale trope, making us wonder and slowly peak our curiosity and interest on so what this portkey is and how this works. But then they make us go through this journey, this relationship progress only to make us understand that the main point of the show is not about universal travelling, it isn't about finding portkeys or this fantasy unrealistic parallel worlds. It's friendship, it's values, it's maturity, connections we make along the way, lessons, and ultimately what it's like to love and to be loved so soulfully it breaks all the odds and make them connect together again breaking all universal barriers. Like these metaphorical writing and execution of this show is unbelievably well done
Tumblr media
ABOUT TO CARVE THIS ENTIRE MESSAGE INTO MY BONES SO THAT WHEN ARCHEOLOGISTS RETRIEVE MY SKELETON IN A MILLION YEARS THEY WILL KNOW WHAT TO PUT IN THE HISTORY BOOKS
like not to sound petty or rude because i do firmly believe that sometimes we just don't click with certain shows and that's completely fine, but to this day i keep seeing comments about vice versa 'ruining such an interesting concept as universal travelling by making the entire plot about a boring movie instead' and every single time im like okay!!!!!!!! just say you didn't understand anything about the show and go!!!!!!!! the fantasy aspects of the story were never the point, they're just a framework that was used to talk about all kind of different themes like identity and accountability and friendship and family and loss and sacrifice and love!!!!!!!!
this show is so self aware too like for example what you mentioned about the kiss in episode 2 is actually one of my favorite things!!!!!! the way they fully acknowledge the true love kiss trope just to dismiss it completely because yes, romance is part of the story, but it's not an easy magical solution. the character journey both puen and talay go through is something deeply personal and that ultimately changes them and the way they view the world, and even when that journey is about love it's not just about romance: it's about self-love in puen's case and about accepting love as one of the many colors of life in talay's
I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT MY POINT IS HERE I COULD JUST KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS SHOW AND HOW INCREDIBLE IT IS FOR HOURS THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING IN THAT WRITERS ROOM AND IT SHOWS BECAUSE EVERYTHING IS JUST SO GOOD SORRY BUT VICE VERSA TRULY THE MOST SHOW OF ALL TIME
