Mixing It Up - Troublemaker! Min Yoongi X Reader - Part 4
Oh my gosh an actual update
Okay so my idiotic self thought that when college started again, I’d be able to keep up with my work and stories. How wrong I was. I’ve mentioned many times that I’ll attempt to resume my original pace but I don’t know if that will be possible. I’m hoping within the next week or two I can but because final exams are this year it may be unlikely. I’ll just have to stop wasting time on useless stuff and spend said time on writing. Please bare with me.
Preview  Part 1  Part 2  Part 3  Part 4 - Here  Part 5  Part 6  Part 7  Part 8  Part 9  Part 10  Part 11 - Final
During lunch, you spent your time glaring holes into Yoongi's head. He noticed five minutes in and returned your glare yet that didn't stop you from deepening your scowl. You should have known he wouldn't care about your reputation and school records being ruined. He's Min Yoongi, notorious for being a troublemaker.
You felt fingers pry your now squashed water bottle from your grip and only then did you come to your senses.
"Hey, you don't actually know if Yoongi was responsible. He never admitted it." Suhyun placed the bottle beside her before directing her expectant gaze at you.
"And he never denied it either. It makes sense that he would be the cause of this mess. All he's done since I've met him is harass me."
She took a moment to think about the previous weeks before she nodded her head in agreement.
“Fair enough... but you know what they say. When someone teases you, it usually means they like you.”
She was greeted with a scoff.
“I’m pretty sure I said ‘harass’ not ‘tease’.”
“Same thing for Min Yoongi.”
At this point Mi-Rae decided to join your table, settling beside Suhyun. She gave you both a small smile as a greeting and proceeded to chew on her food.
“Hey Mi-Rae. Haven’t seen you around in a while.” It was true. Mi-Rae seemed to disappear often recently leaving you with no clue as to where she was.
“Oh, really? Well I’ve just been about.” You paid no mind to her vague answer and stood from your seat.
“I hate to say this since you just got here but I need to go. If I start cleaning the class now, I won’t have to spend so long after school.” Both girls nodded in understanding and you took that as your cue to tidy up your lunch, heading straight for your classroom after.
Ten minutes later, you were scrubbing at the teachers desk, hoping to remove at least a little bit of the black marker left on it. You had to admit that some of the comments left on the desks were quite amusing. The typical ‘he likes her’ was one you came across more  times than you would have expected.
Your thoughts drifted back to that morning. To do this much damage the culprit would have had to have arrived early in the morning. It wasn’t something that could be done in a mere hour. You suspected maybe two and a half to three hours were spent on this mess.
“What kind of sad life does Yoongi have to be spending this much time drawing on desks?” As you mentioned his name, your scrubbing became more aggressive as you absentmindedly read the sentence.
“‘It was Min Yoongi... he’s a pyromaniac?’” You stared blankly at the writing, not able to process what it had said. It was only when the lunch bell rang and students began to file into the class where you realized what they had been implying. You quickly moved to cover the writing, although it was probably useless as everyone had already read a majority of the writing that morning.
That didn’t stop you from quickening your cleaning and you wiped with such ferocity that the only remains were a faint pen mark.
So the culprit was not Yoongi.
You felt the weight on your chest lighten a bit with that thought.
Still... who would call him a pyromaniac? You had no doubt in your mind they were trying to make a link between Yoongi and the school fire.
Although you too had initially believed he had something to do with it, the time you had spent getting to know him and how he worked made you have second thoughts on the real culprit.
Even if Yoongi was a pyromaniac, there was no evidence yet to suggest he was behind it and you hoped it stayed that way.
Being lost in your thoughts, you were only pulled out of them when your class’ teacher entered the room. Greeting your teacher, you took your seat, letting your thoughts wander again.
Apologising to Yoongi was a given. You had unnecessarily flipped out at him and he had just taken it, surprisingly. You half expected him to drop kick you or something but he just seemed offended that you of all people would accuse him.
Maybe you were getting through to him more than you thought.
-
That same day you had decided to visit the bubble tea café by yourself. Suhyun offered to go with you but you simply denied her offer, explaining you needed time to think about how to approach your dilemma. You were quite stubborn so you found it hard to face it head on. You could practically feel the embarrassment that was sure to come with your apology. You had acted out of order.
Sipping on your usual drink, you blankly stared out of the front window. Within the next few moments, Yoongi appeared in front of you, shooting you an apathetic look. Almost choking on your drink, you shot up off your seat and all but sprinted out of the shop after him. He seemed to hear you coming as he spun around, raising an eyebrow.
“Are you hot but bitchy Y/N or cute detective?”
A smile almost spread across your lips, keyword almost. That didn’t stop the faint pink from dusting your cheeks, however.
“Neither, just me although I’m not that great...” You muttered the last part to yourself though Yoongi caught it.
“Well, you’re not as loud as Tae so that’s an automatic plus.” A chuckle escaped you before you turned serious, intent on getting back on Yoongi’s good side.
“Listen, I’m sorry for accusing you earlier on. That was so uncalled for.”
He just smirked at your words and shifted his weight back onto the balls of his feet.
“Wow. Screaming at me, sending me evil looks and then apologising all in under twenty four hours? That’s got to be a new record. If I didn’t know any better, I’d think you couldn’t live with me hating your guts or something.”
You wanted to punch his smirk right off his face but you refrained from doing so. Maybe later. Yes, you didn’t just swallow your pride for nothing.
“Hellooo? Earth to Y/N? Do my words have that much of an effect on you?”
You shook your head, ridding it of the somewhat violent thoughts you were having.
“Something like that. But there is one more thing I need to ask you. I don’t know if it’s too personal but... do you by chance have an obsession with fire?”
A look of shock flashed on his face for a millisecond before his smirk returned.
“In other words ‘Are you a pyromaniac?’ That’s what you’re asking, right?”
A blunt nod was his reply.
“I personally don’t think so. I guess that’s what everyone labels me since I always carry fireworks and shit.”
Well that was somewhat unexpected.
“Fireworks?”
He didn’t reply but turned on his heel and set back on his way.
“I’ll explain that another time... see you later.”
You successfully delivered your apology albeit you were left a little confused. You ultimately decided it wasn’t something you should dwell on.
“At least that’s over and done with.”
You too set on your way home, all the while smiling to yourself over your success. You took a detour into a stationary shop as you realised you were running low on school supplies and selected your usual pens. Taking them towards the counter, you realised that Mi-Rae was before you, paying for her items.
“Hey, Mi-Rae. Running low too?” You gestured to the pack of markers the cashier was placing into a plastic bag along with notebooks and sticky notes. Your sudden appearance caused her to jump slightly before turning towards you and smiling kindly.
“Ah, yeah. I seem to find myself here often.” You nodded in understanding as she picked up her purchase and bid you a farewell.
“I’ll see you tomorrow.” Waving her off, you too paid for your items, thoughts drifting back to your deal with the principal.
It wasn’t Yoongi so that’s one suspect down. Lord knows how many to go.
-
The days seemed to fly by and before you knew it it had already been a month since the deal. You had long since cleaned the markings left inside the class though it had taken you more than a week. Whoever was the culprit didn’t think to give you any mercy as they went as far as scribbling inside lockers. You didn’t know what you were going to do once you found them but it definitely involved hurting them as much as they hurt you.
Your back, legs and arms were all sore from the constant switch in posture.
You hadn’t gotten any closer to finding the culprit with the month that went by and you were beginning to give up until you heard the latest gossip from none other than Suhyun.
“Guess what!? They know what cause the fire in their school.” You almost grabbed her by the collar, eager to know what had been the catalyst to the unexpected occurrence. That and you wanted to reassure yourself that it had nothing to do with Yoongi.
“Apparently, it was fireworks or something.” As if in cue, the speakers around the school boomed to life, the principals voice flowing out of them.
“Can Min Yoongi please make his way to my office. This is an urgent matter.”
Eyes widening, your head whipped around to watch Yoongi shove his hands into his pockets and stalk out of the lunch hall, a scowl present on his face. His friends all shared confused looks between each other and Jimin stood from the table, trailing after him.
“Wait-“ The hushed whispers that erupted from the students around you cut you off and you found yourself gritting your teeth in exasperation.
“I heard it was him...”
“It would make sense since he’s a pyromaniac.”
“What!? He’s a pyromaniac?”
“What’s that?”
“Are you stupid? It’s someone who is constantly setting fire for some kind of sick pleasure or relief.”
“Woah that’s scary! We’ve been attending school with a criminal!”
He hadn’t even been proven to be the cause of the fire and students were already labelling him a criminal. You wanted nothing more than to punch the obnoxious girl who screamed the last sentence but instead opted for slamming your hands down onto the table, gathering everyone’s attention. The hall grew relatively silent except from the few whispers bouncing around and your glare grew darker.
“Y-Y/N? Just ignore it and sit down.” Suhyuns panicked whisper did nothing to calm you down and instead you moved from your table, raising your voice so you could be heard by the majority of students.
“Ah, I hate ignorant comments! It’s sad that you have to feed off creating rumours like this. Criminal? Cut it out with that kind of bullshit, you just sound like an air headed idiot.”
With that, you stormed out of the hall, the silence following you.
You just hoped that wasn’t all in vain and Yoongi really wasn’t a criminal.
-
Yoongi never returned to class. You were sent on an errand to said boys class and you couldn’t help but scope the class for him but to no avail. He was nowhere to be seen.
When school finally ended, you caught up with Jimin on his way out of school.
“Jimin! Er... what happened with Yoongi?” A crestfallen expression fell on his face and he sighed.
“They say they caught him on tape with fireworks right before the fire started...”
Your heart dropped at this.
“So that means...”
“I guess it means he’s going to get in a heck of a lot of trouble but I don’t get it... that day he said he was called into a classroom by someone. The same class the fire started. Sure, he had fireworks on him but they were meant for when we hung out later on.”
“You don’t think he done it?”
Jimin’s immediate response was a shake of his head, orange hair bouncing with the movement.
“I believe he didn’t. Sure, he’s not the best student but setting a class on fire is too much, even for him. If it was his fireworks maybe he didn’t mean it? Do you believe he did it?”
You didn’t need to ponder over his question. Your answer came straight away.
“Nope. Not in a million years. I don’t know Yoongi that well but he’s not as bad as everyone makes him out to be. Although I did think he was before I met him...”
Either Jimin didn’t hear you mutter your last sentence or he chose to ignore it because he didn’t reply.
“Anyway, I’ll see you tomorrow Jimin. I’ll... I’ll try and figure out a way to get Yoongi out of this. I don’t know if you’ve heard but I’m kind of playing detective now.”
“Yoongi mentioned something about that a few weeks ago. But thank you for your help and concern. We appreciate it, especially Yoongi.”
You shot him a sympathetic smile before leaving the school gates.
So basically, once again, someone innocent was being blamed for something they didn’t do. It just so happened to be Yoongi this time and not you.
You were definitely going to help as much as you can. It was the least you could do since your apology did not seem sincere enough to you.
-
Jimin watched the retreating form of Y/N, smiling slightly at her worry.
“Gosh Yoongi... you’re lucky to have her care about you that much.”
“I am aren’t I?”
Yoongi’s arm wrapped around Jimin’s shoulders making said boy jump before he placed a hand over his racing heart.
“Hey! Don’t do that! Are you trying to make my heart stop?!”
“You’re just a scaredy cat. Even Taehyung doesn’t react that way.”
He pouted in slight annoyance whilst Yoongi took a few steps forward.
“She may even care too much. I might hurt her...”
He stood in silence before motioning towards the schools entrance.
“You coming?”
Yoongi began on his way again as Jimin nodded his head, jogging to catch up with his fast pace.
You’re incapable of hurting her Yoongi. Not everything you come to love will break so easily.
Jimin kept his thoughts to himself.

2016 Writing Meme
Writing Self-Evaluation for 2016
So the weirdest thing happened. tumblr notifies me I got tagged by @renderedreversed though I’m not, in fact, tagged in the post. It’s a ghost tag. Maybe I’m the chosen one. So in a sudden bout of compulsive oversharing I’m doing it anyways ;) Also I love all of your stories and I’m just hijacking your post don’t mind me 1. List of works published this year: I do hope you don’t mean completed ones...You’ve come to the wrong place otherwise
Set the Sails (and don’t look     back) - HP
Let’s start the show - HP
6 parts in the ‘First encounters in history’ series - Hamilton
Rumors only grow (into Truth) -  Hamilton
Mercurial Wrath - Hamilton
honourable mention to ‘Blurring Reality’ because I published it in December 2015 so aallllmost 2016 xD. Which would make this list everything I ever published apart from ‘Rebuilt’ lmao.
2. Work you are most proud of (and why): Set the Sails? Idk, it feels different from the others. I’m not good at recognizing or analyzing writing styles but I usually drive the whole plot with conversations. Set the Sails stands out because especially the first chapter has barely any direct speach at all. I guess I’m not so much proud of the story itself, but rather the fact that I managed to deviate from my comfort zone.
3. Work you are least proud of (and why): Depending on the reasons I could literally justify all fics as being the one I’m least proud of. I’m going to say ‘Rumors only grow’ here, because even for a oneshot it doesn’t seem to have much meat to it.
4. A favorite excerpt of your writing: How do people have favorite excerpts. really, tell me your secrets, I beg you. Whenever I get Tom and Harry alone in one room I’m happy tbh.
5. Share or describe a favorite review you received: I love them alllll! I can’t stress that fact enough! But alright, alright I can’t dodge all questions. I’m always especially amused when someone starts reading Rebuilt for the first time and leaves short reviews for almost every chapter while they work their way through it. Because at the beginning they’re all like ‘nice’ ‘i like it’ ‘will read more’ or commenting on the plot and then after 40+ chapters they go ‘...there’s no point to any of this, you just like playing with the characters don’t you’. It’s like making a new friend that gets me intuitively.
6. A time when writing was really, really hard: *looks at her last updates sometime in summer* uhhh… It’s been hard finding time to write during the whole year really. I know I could just write half an hour or so every evening but… that’s not how my brain works. I need to know that I have time, like several hours worth of time, even if I don’t need that long. Otherwise nothing comes out and it feels like work.
7. A scene or character you wrote that surprised you: everything I write surprises me No but really, I’m often surprised because I don’t map the stories out. So I tend to write myself into a corner and panic over how to get out of it, when suddenly it just happens and I have a new idea. It doesn’t help that I lean towards drawn-out mysteries in my plots. The only reason why they’re uncovered so slowly is because I don’t know the answer. Fake it till you make it. One of the many examples would be the last chapter of Let’s start the show, where Harry is literally already walking towards the manor and I still had no idea how Riddle would get rid of Zabini in some kind of smooth, sophisticated way.
I’m usually not too surprised over how a character turns out to be/act, because I guess I have a pretty solid picture in my head? But I found myself very surprised over how easy or hard a specific character was for me. I would expect characters that I love to come easily and others maybe not so much, but that doesn’t seem to be true at all. Honestly I haven’t figured out which types I can write easily, it seems random so far. I’d really like to write for Hamilton/Burr but as of now Aaron Burr is impossible for me to write. come here and let me love you you little piece of shit
8. How did you grow as a writer this year: I’m always learning more English so that’s a plus that comes automatically with time and practice. I have grown more conscious of my writing. It’s not just me madly writing down whatever I see in my head, I’m actually taking the time to think about what phrases would best describe it.
9. How do you hope to grow next year: I want to finish Rebuilt. Please. For the love of god and all that is holy. Let it end. I guess just write more, generally speaking? I’d like to not have to sit around and wait for inspiration just so I write anything at all. I want to know how to push through even if maybe not all of the conditions have been met perfectly.
10. Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a writer (could be another writer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc): So obviously every review I receive has the effect of cheering me on, but I’m going to cue into the ‘muse’ bit here, because the effect Hamilton had on my life can not be understated. The way words are used in that musical is beyond anything I ever heard. Seriously, everyone who likes to write should listen to it. It’s so…smooth and clever. Also this goes way further than just me loving/obsessing over a thing. I’m suddenly reading biographies and watch documentaries and just... history is so freaking interesting??? Not the facts, but the people that lived it. And biographies are literally just a psychoanalysis of people and their relationships, pieced together from correspondences. And I’m always on the hunt for interesting characters. Also everyone in the 18th/19th century could write so well (if they could read/write at all lmao) oh my gosh they sound like such nerds. Idk, I really feel like I’ve broadened my understanding of the world immensely. Also I listen to rap now???  Enter Hamilton’s creator Lin-Manuel Miranda who’s basically going around reminding everyone that we could die tomorrow and then who will write that story that’s in your head? Maybe get that out beforehand so it exists. And lastly I did not expect the amount of fun and fresh inspiration a new fandom can bring. I’m casually into a lot of things, but for a long time HP has been the only fandom I actively created stuff for.
11. Anything from your real life show up in your writing this year: I love writing and reading because it’s not real life, so uuuuhhmmm... I actually do know how to sail, does that count? And I’m basically twisting the science I learn in my studies to write Rebuilt so...
12. Any new wisdom you can share with other writers: Wisdom and me don’t talk much these days. You’re on your own buddy.
13. Any projects you’re looking forward to starting (or finishing) in the new year: AHAHAHA is that a trick question?
14. Tag three writers whose answers you’d like to read. I’d like to read anyone’s answers tbh. @talriconosco @paper-ramblings @littlemissxanda . If you feel like it!

iPhone 11 vs iPhone X - and Why I Didn't Buy the iPhone 11 Pro
iPhone 11 vs iPhone X - and Why I Didn't Buy the iPhone 11 Pro
I’ll start off be talking briefly about my experience with the iPhone X.
Just over two years since Apple launched it’s flagship phone, featuring a new design, new construction and heavily updated hardware, the makers of all things sexy (that man can legally pay money for anyway) have released the iPhone 11.
While the iPhone 11 may not be distinctly different to any of its predecessors, the iPhone 11 Pro and Pro Max certainly are - just flip them over and take a look at the back - you’ll know what i mean.
Having got my hands on my iPhone X at launch in 2017, my excitement was quickly culled by a screen issue. Well, basically, it didn’t work - apart from flashing and showing me a few colourful lines, i couldn’t really use it.
A trip to the Apple Store, and an amusing comment about Samsung having supplied the screens for the X, i left with a new replacement.
Two weeks later, i was back at the Apple Store with exactly the same problem! I started November 2017 with an iPhone 7, and entered December on my third(!) iPhone X.
This third handset served me well, and didn’t really miss a beat until the summer of this year - then the problem began…
First, Face ID failed. It took me a couple of days to realise that every time i opened my phone, i had to use the passcode.
I made an appointment with apple, and they diagnosed a problem with the Face ID sensor - this despite the fact that Animoji’s still worked flawlessly! This was something no-one could really explain, and owing to the €585 repair cost from Apple, the nice employee there whispered that i could get €500 cash back for my iPhone X and then i could use the money to buy a different handset - the iPhone XR.
Now, i had done my homework before making this trip to the Genius Bar. I know, at worst, the Face ID sensor would cost around €90, and i’m no stranger to taking apart iPhones (I have daughters who like to break the screens on the things), so i thought i would repair it myself.
One hour, and €24 later, i had installed the new Face ID sensor, which by the way also contains the front camera and proximity sensor (the part which automatically adjusts the brightness, and plays voice messages through the ear piece when you lift the phone to your head). The problem still remained. Everything worked as it should - just no Face ID.
I decided to leave things as they were - there was no way i was paying Apples repair cost - they would probably have done the exact same thing i just did, with the same result!
Going back two months ago, the shit really started to hit the fan as far as my phone was concerned!
I noticed apps were complaining about not being able to use location services. Sure enough, when i opened maps i had no location. My family couldn’t find me anymore on apples stalking service either! GPS dead now too?
Then, sure enough, the next problem occurred. And then the next. And then the next.
At the point where it (or I) finally gave up, my as new on the outside, but completly rotten on the inside, boasted the following list of ailments:
Face ID sensor failure
Proximity sensor failure
GPS failure
Battery in 'service' condition
It rattled (?)
Battery from full would run down to 3% in a matter of minutes, then stay at 3% for several hours
SIM card not recognised / Searching for network
Screen hanged or shudder while animating
Gyroscopic senor failure (this is a guess, but when you picked the phone up and tilted it in any way it would swith off)
Eventually, 10 days ago, my iPhone X decided enough is enough, and refused to switch on for any longer than flashing the Apple logo at me for a second or two.
So, with all this in mind, a had to pull the trigger and get a new iPhone - but which of the iPhone 11 range would be best suited to me?
Being a photographer of course, the new tripple lens system of the 11 Pro really appealed. However, the standard Pro has the same size as the X, and i wanted more real-estate under my thumbs. So, the Pro Max was clearly the way to go right? Wrong. Here's why. In one sentence. 4 characters...
€450
Yes, four-hundred-and-fifty-euros is what Apple deems a necessary bounty over the price of the standard iPhone 11. Why? Well, that's the big question! The short answer: A bigger, better screen, bigger battery (of course, it's a bigger phone) and the tripple lens rear camera.
My reasons for wanting the Pro Max were the camera system and the big-assed screen. However, there are two points of contention here for me where it makes it really difficult to justify the extra money:
1. The Pro Max features the tripple lens camera. BUT, the sparkly new toy of the ultrawide lens is available on the standard 11 at the cost of the telephoto lens of it's predecessor. The wide angle lens is the toy i wanted most, and the standard wide angle lens of the 11 is stablised and has up to 5x digital zoom - which in fairness is only really usable up to 2x - which is perfectly acceptable in most use cases.
2. The 11 is built around the chassis of the iPhone XR - which makes it, and therefore it's screen bigger that that of the iPhone 11 Pro. It's not that easy for me to understand why apple did this - they must of had a bunch of unused X and XR chassis hanging around in storage somewhere.
Of course, the 11 Pro Max is better, but just how much better? Here's a little, to-the-point-comparision to help you decide:
The Pro Max (both Pro's) has more RAM 6GB vs 4GB
The Pro Max has a better screen: 6.5'' vs 6.1'', 1242x2688 463dpi vs 828x1792 324dpi resolution and Retina vs LCD (as far as screen sizes go....it's a bigger phone! The 11 Pro for reference has a 5.8'' 463dpi retina display with 1125x2436 resolution.)
The 11 has the Aluminium/Glass construction, similar to that of the iPhone XR vs Stainless Steel / Glass akin to the rest of the X series - is this really a big concern?
Both Pro handsets have the tripple camera system - which we already covered.
The 11 Pro Max has 3400mAh battery - again, like the screen, it's a bigger phone, and that bigger screen needs more power - so this makes sense - and is it really an issue. The extra juice equates to about 3 hours more contiuous use over the 11 standard.
The forces swinging in favour of the 11 Standard vs the 11 Pro Max
Massive price saving - on contract up to €15 per month.
Same A13 processor as the Pro's.
Same 12mp f2.2 front facing camera with up to 120fps (in 1080p) video
Lighter weight compared to the Pros
Same 4k 60fps capability with the rear camera array.
Waterproof - just like the Pro's, allbeit up to two meters and not 4.
Same sound system as the Pro's.
Range of colours available (not that important to most).
All in all, my decision to pull the trigger on the 11 over the 11 Pro Max was influenced by not being able to justify the higher cost against the better quality screen, which most users won't notice anyway, and the extra camera, which the majority of users wouldn't miss either. Plus, i don't think i have any pants or jackets with pockets big enough for the Pro Max, which would mean i'd need to buy one of those silly round-the-neck-pouch-thingies!
Living with the iPhone 11
Well, it's been a good start!
There are, needless to say, some really noticable improvements in this phone when comparted to my iPhone X - apart from the obvious fact that it works!
The A13 processor is markedly faster than the A11 of the X. Lightning fast in fact. This has, so far, been most noticable for me when using Face ID. You look at the phone and it opens in the exact instant your face is in front of it. 4GB of RAM, compared to 3GB in X certainly play a role here too.
The screen is clear, sharp and blacks are nicer than on the X dispite only having an IPS LCD here - i really see no real disadvantage of not having the OLED of the X - it really is a pleasant experience. The larger screen of the 11 is really nice to have in a phone that is only 20g heavier. A 3110mAh battery means extra play-time when compared to the 2617mAh cell in the X. And the final, really noticable thing is the front camera. Snapping a selfie for the Mrs, it really is noticable there is an addition 5mp in the front camera!
So, what about the camera?
This is where things get fun.
Enter the camera app, and you're by default in the standard wide angle mode. Hit the 1x button to jump to ultra wide angle, and, fuuuuuuck! How does that happen! I love having a really wide, border fish-eye lens on a DSLR - and this thing is just as much fun!
Even though the screen is of a lesser resolution and pixel-density when compared to the iPhone X, images and videos just look so much better. This is potentially down to the new, faster A13 Processor combining with the new IPS LCD.
Portrait mode looks great and focuses better and faster than before. Although the filters on offer in portrait mode still leave something to be desired! One really cool feature of portrait mode, is now you can adjust the aperture when editing the shot afterwards, this adjusts how blurred the background is, which is pretty cool!
We also now have the ability to shoot 4k video at 60fps, which means when using the clips in editing software you can slow these down to 24-30fps and have slow motion which remains crystal clear and natively in 4k resolution!
As mentioned, the iPhone 11 packs 2 cameras, but unlike the X the 2x Optical telephone lens has given way to an ultra wide angle lens.
The specs:
26mm f1.8 Wide Angle, 6 element lens with 100% focus coverage and on-board image stabilisation. Focus areas as before can be selected in the camera app. This lens uses Apples new Deep Fusion engine. There’s no setting for this, and it only works with the ‘Photo Capture Outside the Frame’ turned off - more on this soon!
13mm f2.4 Ultra Wide Angle, 5 element lens with 120 degree field of view. Focusing on this lens is Phase Detection auto-focus. Which essential means you can't, and don't need to select your focus area. Selecting areas of the screen while in Ultra Wide will of course set your exposure levels as always in iOS.
Night Mode
Night mode is only available when using the default wide-angle lens. It effectively lengthens the shutter speed depending on what the phone decides the available light is. It really does work well, but i suspect there is some serious ISO hocus pocus going on behind the scenes, which could have a negative effect on what you can achieve in this mode.
So, be warned, Night Mode is cool, but your phone is slowing down it’s shutter speed, and it can shoot at 10 seconds depending on the light - so you need to keep still. The on board stabilisation of the wide angle lens will help you out to a degree - but anything over 2 seconds (which is shown in the moon logo on the top of the screen, and you’re gonna need some kind of tripod.).
Ready for something clever? And confusing?
Deep Fusion. Yeah we mentioned that already. Some kind of Apple hocus pocus going on in the background that only those in cahoots with the dark arts will understand. It makes pictures with the default lens look sexier - and that’s about it. We don’t need to know any more.
BUT
The camera has one final cool-assed feature…
When shooting in a 4:3 or similar ratio, the phone will effectively take an image of everything outside of the ratio up to the maximum ratio available. This means, you can come back later and expand the crop of an image to add the parts that were outside the frame of the original shot. Neat. Watch out though - this feature only works when it’s activated in the camera settings in the settings menu. Aaaaand when it is active, then Deep Fusion is no longer active! I said it was confusing right?!
Missing 3d touch?
Yup! It’s gone. Did you ever used to test your strength by pressing the bathroom weighing scales as hard as you could? Well, that experience with the iPhone has finally been taking away from us. Is it an issue? Well, we used to long press things to get them to move or provide an expanded menu so i’m not really seeing the issue. Many have complained, but many also complained when the headphone jack disappeared. No-one died right?
Conclusion
Well, it’s early days, and as you’ve seen by my two lazy-arsed pictures taken with the phone to demonstrate the wide-angle lens, i’ve not done much shooting with it. But i’m excited to. The ultra wide angle lens looks a lot of fun!
For users of the iPhone X, upgrading to the 11 is a must! For XR/XS users, if you don’t care too much for taking pictures then stay maybe stay where you are. The speed advantages of the new processor are really cool if you’re into gaming, but otherwise, sit it out - in September you’ll most likely be able to get the 11 at a bargain price.
If you’ve money to throw away, then get the normal iPhone 11 and send me the €450! Of course, if you’re a rapper, then your trousers will most likely have pockets large enough to accommodate the 11 Pro Max’s girth!
Get the iPhone 11 here!

r/hockey NHL Power Rankings Week 3: Feeling Blue Edition
/r/Hockey NHL Power Rankings Week Oct 14, 2019 - Oct 20, 2019Thank YouThank you to all of the volunteers doing the power rankings. Each ranker has their own system and have their own reasonings and analyis. It truly is a lot of work.RankersSpoilerOrganizersSpoilerVisualizationThe visualization contains historical data, so you can see how your team has done over time. Hopefully, we can run this for many years in hopes that we can see the rise and fall of teams by /r/hockey opinion. It automatically updates so feel free to bookmark. You can find it hereProcessHow does this work? Throughout the course of the week rankers are able to access an app that will allow them to rank teams. At the end of the period we calculate the average ranking for every team and collate all of the analysis provided by rankers. The app then generates a post that is first proofread and then posted to /r/hockey!Rankings (28/31 Rankers Reporting)Ranking (avg)TeamDeltaOverall RecordRecord This WeekComments1 (1.52)Colorado Avalanche-7-0-13-0-1Avs are strange they are winning, but at the same time they are very sloppy with many issues. The giveaways are sometimes out of control and the defense is often scattered. The Power Play is bad right now very stationary missing Barrie hurts. The first line looks normal which is unusual for a line that is typically so dominant. On the positive this team is a collective unit and its depth is showing up. The stars are flashing at different times and different lines are breaking through each night. Whether Kadri, Burakovsky, or Jost players are replacing the top lines dominance. The top line is still a sleeping giant and I worry for the rest of the league when it wakes up. Calder update: not a great week for Makar which is saying something still multiple assists on the week and 7 points in 8 games so far.2 (3.86)Edmonton Oilers37-1-12-1-13 (4.07)Buffalo Sabres27-1-13-1-0Its obvious that the west coast style of hockey was a shock to us, but we still managed to pull off 4/6 points for the trip. Victor Olofsson has cooled off a bit along with the powerplay, but our 5 on 5 play has been exceptional to compensate. Rasmus Dahlin is now second on the team in scoring to Eichel and second in PIMs to Kyle Okposo, who along with the Roaring 20's line has looked fantastic. We can't continue this pace forever, but I can dream right?4 (5.07)Boston Bruins-25-1-21-0-2The Bruins started off strong this week with a big win against the Ducks and Pasta scoring 4 goals! The rest of week had middling results with a shootout loss to the Bolts and an OTL to the Leafs. The Bruins still struggle to score 5v5 against the Bolts with all 3 goals coming on the PP. More secondary scoring is starting to show up on the scoresheet which helps but not at the level the team would like. The Bruins need more than the first line putting up points.5 (6.41)Carolina Hurricanes-36-3-01-2-06 (6.69)Vegas Golden Knights-6-3-02-1-0The Golden Knights are boasting one of the league's best special teams. Cody Glass's addition on the top unit has added an extra dimension to it allowing them to score on 30% of their power play chances. The penalty kill has only allowed two goals while scoring 4 short handed. Marc-Andre Fleury has been lights out lately playing like a Vezina candidate. But you have to ask the question if the Golden Knights are playing Fleury too much having him play all but one period in the season.7 (7.79)Anaheim Ducks36-3-02-2-0Ducks are living on the edge. Finishing problems have not been solved but Rakell looks night and day better than last season. Current team mood(not including Calgary): https://ift.tt/33urMd4 With wins over Buffalo and Carolina, the ducks look to shock teams thinking they can pull 4 points from a socal swing. Also does anyone have a power play goal for sale?8 (7.83)Washington Capitals-6-2-23-1-0Holtby has been much improved these last couple of games. Which is great news for Caps fans and bad news for everyone else. I think he may have realized his payday is coming up and he needs to get his numbers back to 2016-17 year. Although I would be okay with him repeating his playoff numbers from 17-18.9 (8.66)Pittsburgh Penguins56-3-02-1-0Despite having the most extensive injury list to start the season the boys are still playing at an elite level and winning games against tough opponents. Even in a loss against Vegas that game was kept close until very late but the Flower is going to do what he does best.10 (9.03)Toronto Maple Leafs-15-3-12-1-011 (12.21)Tampa Bay Lightning-4-3-12-1-0I really don't know what to make of this team yet. D has looked solid, and the PK hasn't been terrible (just need to win more faceoffs). The offense seemed to pick it up a little more, generating 46 shots against Colorado. The powerplay however, has looked awful, dropping from 28% last season to 16% this season.12 (13.86)Nashville Predators-4-3-11-1-1Well, the good news is the Preds found their missing PP. The bad news is now we need to start putting up flyers for their PK.13 (15.03)New York Islanders75-3-03-0-0Isles look to be getting into a groove now. Goaltending is solid and Mat Barzal is showing off his scoring while Nelson follows his regular Brocktober schedule. Wahlstrom being called up is very exciting with him showing some great skills, despite not getting his first goal yet. Next week's roster moves will be interesting, with Eberle hopefully returning to health and Dobson riding watching from upstairs lats couple of games.14 (15.03)Montreal Canadiens44-3-22-2-015 (15.21)St. Louis Blues-83-2-30-1-2This team is still hungover. Good play from some players but not really cohesive yet. Still early in the season though.16 (15.59)Calgary Flames-5-4-13-1-0A 3-1 week was the bounce back that the Flames needed, however an abysmal effort leading to a 4-1 loss against LA leaves fans wondering what kind of team the Flames are this year.17 (15.83)Arizona Coyotes54-2-13-0-0While the Coyotes have had one of the top D-groups in the league since last season, offense has finally started clicking for the Desert Dogs. The Coyotes have taken 9 of the last 10 available points, scoring 4.6 gpg over the previous week, and only allowing 2 gpg. The PP has heated up to over 30% in this time frame, and Darcy Kuemper set a franchise record for most consecutive games allowing 2 of fewer goals. Kuemper has not allowed more than 2 goals against now since March.18 (16.1)Vancouver Canucks55-3-03-1-0I suppose I should say something I'm thankful for this year, but as a true Canucks fan I'd rather just be an entitled little egg eater and not give thanks for anything. This team is pretty good, but what I really deserve this year is a Stanley Cup win, or maybe the first overall draft pick if we miss the playoffs. Ideally, the Canucks will win both, otherwise it's time to #firebenning. Anyway, The Canucks turned around their early season slide with a very convincing win at home vs. the Kings and a less-convincing shootout win vs. the Flyers. The top line continues to be somewhat stifled, but that's okay because there are now various interesting players to watch on this team. Miller and Hughes have both come exactly as-advertised, Markstorm is tight, and Pearson appears intent on revitalizing his career. Myers is big, and while I don't know how his play will end up on statlines, he is very fun to watch.19 (17)Winnipeg Jets-65-5-01-2-0Tough, week was tough. Last week saw us win 3 in a row, this week saw us lose 3 in a row. The truth is we're probably somewhere in the middle of that. No one is doubting this teams offensive depth or skill level, The defense continues to leave much to be desired. Rumblings of Buff's return continue to give us this false sense of hope about the season. The tenders have been decent, through this tough stretch. Not alot to say at this point. The forward core is good enough to score on anyone, but if they run into a hot goalie, like they did vs the Isles they are going to lose. Frustration isn't the correct word, I'd say it's more of a malais. Also, they failed to sell out a game for the first time in 2.0 history, I understand it was vs the Gila River Coyotes on a Tuesday while there was snow on the ground on October 15th, but still, not a great sign.20 (20.34)Florida Panthers13-2-32-0-1Can the Panthers end a game in regulation? Can the Panthers hold on to a lead? No and no. But they managed to win against Nashville without Barkov, pretty good.21 (21.79)Columbus Blue Jackets33-3-21-0-2Three solid performances this week, but both overtime losses were games that were very winnable. Poor power play performance continues to plague the Jackets and this year the penalty kill seems to be having issues too. Cam Atkinson is on the right wing side on the PP and it doesn't seem to be working. Outside of special teams, though, the young Jackets team has looked pretty good at driving the game though puck possession. There were multiple shifts vs Chicago that were a minute plus of sustained pressure and chances in 5 on 5 situations. Only issue here is burying chances which should eventually happen if this play keeps up. Two tough opponents this week should be a good test. Expect to see Elvis get his first win soon!22 (22.86)Philadelphia Flyers-52-3-10-3-0Thanks to the backup ranker, I'm a student who is working as well so sometimes time escapes me. Thanks again for covering last week. That being said, the flyers made me sad and I want them to not suck. Oilers hurt our Goodboye(tm) Hart, we lost to the flames who I feel we should have at least been able to take to overtime, and I dont want to talk about the stars game. Lets just hope that we do that hockey thing better this week.23 (23.48)New York Rangers-82-4-00-3-0This team's starting to look a little more as I expected. Actually a little worse than I figured. It may have been due to the schedule, but holy shit was this a painful week. There were only about 20 minutes of hockey that I was hyped about this week and that was the third period against the Canucks. Defense needs to be addressed and the forward lines need to be sorted out. Andersson still deserves more minutes and Kakko should get time with the first line and possibly even the first power play unit. Hopefully this upcoming week gets better.24 (23.52)San Jose Sharks33-5-01-1-0Much better week for the Sharks. The rookies are starting to look more comfortable, and everything is starting to fall into place. The team is starting to regain confidence and everyone's playing much better than the first week.25 (23.62)Chicago Blackhawks32-3-12-1-0Kirby Dach made his NHL debut last night. The 3rd line of Saad-Kampf-Kubalik has been the most consistent, and arguably our best line so far. They have a 60.75 CF% and 67.90 FF% at even strength, and the team has a 46.54 CF% and 42.91 FF% when none of them are on the ice. The Hawks are a much more physical team, averaging 31.3 hits/game, up from 16.5 last season. But are hurt by poor special teams: they are 3 for 18 on the PP (16.7%) and 12 for 18 on the PK (66.7%).26 (23.79)Los Angeles Kings-13-5-01-2-0no bueno for the kings this week, Drew Doughty may have exerted dominance in his love-hate relationship with Matthew Tchakuk. along with a flying Mark Giordano superman appearance. The Kings look poised for mediocrity or worse again.27 (23.86)Detroit Red Wings-83-5-00-3-0We expected regression to hit at some point, things took a turn for the worse as they went 0-3 getting killed by VAN/CGY. The “veterans” seem to be hindering development. Dropping Bertuzzi from the top line to create “balanced” scoring was unnecessary by Blashill as no increased production came from Athanasiou along with decreases in Larkin/Mantha hot start. Most teams in the league load up a top line(COL/BOS) or have players to spread out(VGK/STL). Detroit is definitely not the latter and having Darren Helm on the top line kill many opportunities for Larkin/Mantha. Defense is still lackluster outside of Hronek and the Goaltending is still hard to evaluate since the defense is playing so poor. However I still maintain that Howard and Bernier do well enough to keep the WIngs in games. Their loss against EDM was a good step forward as Bertuzzi rejoined the top line near the end of the game and they were able to keep the EDM studs from running up the score.28 (27.59)New Jersey Devils22-4-22-1-0WE DID THE THING! It may have taken us longer than everyone else but we did it and against the Rags, making it all the sweeter. Predictably, the rampant calling for Hynes' head in the sub and GDTs have largely subsided, though he is still very much on the hot seat. Hughes got his first goal of hopefully many against his brother's team, and it ended up being the GW and only goal. The team as a whole seems much more cohesive and the pieces are starting to fall into place. And in possibly the best news of the week, we signed Nico long term, 7 years 7.25 AAV with a MNTC. Having Nico signed until 2027 is a relief knowing exactly how much a high talent player will be making before the offseason hits.29 (28.24)Dallas Stars-32-7-11-3-0If you're panicking this week, I don't blame you. I am, too. Things went almost as bad as they could have. The negatives are many. We're all aware of them, so let's try to be optimistic. What went right this week? Hintz and Heiskanen continue to deliver. Bishop showed he can still stand on his head for a win. Perry and Gurianov look promising. Can we take our successes against Philly and triumph against the Senators tonight? Can we use this win to build momentum and get key players back to playing elite hockey? Lets hope... otherwise, it's going to get messy, and you'd have to imagine that drastic changes are on the table.30 (29.97)Ottawa Senators-11-5-10-2-1An incredibly boring loss against the Minnesota Mild this week pointed the Sens' tank back in the right direction this week. Despite an incredible performance from Nilsson in Las Vegas and finally recording a goal on the powerplay, the team managed no wins and only a single point over the course of this week - exactly the kind of performance they want to continue if they wish to remain at 31st in the standings for the best possible shot at 1st overall pick in the 2020 draft. The only concerning part about this week is in Chabot, Tkachuk, White, and Zaitsev all clearly looking frustrated by the team's struggles; It will be a test of new coach DJ Smith and the "veteran presence" guys that Dorion brought in to keep locker room morale up in this tough rebuild year.31 (30.14)Minnesota Wild-2-6-02-2-0This blurb requires more effort than the Minnesota Wild have shown so far this season. Were it not for a dumpster fire of a matinee game against Ottawa, Minny would still be looking for their first win of the season going into Sunday's tilt against Montreal. 8 games in and Brad Hunt is the leading the team in points. Seems pretty fitting as the rest of the team is playing like total Hunts (unfortunate that one important key on my keyboard is broken). r/hockey NHL Power Rankings Week 3: Feeling Blue Edition Source

"Hello everyone! We're happy to announce that we're launching an Early Access version of the game! It will be available on October 2nd.How go I get it?The Early Access version will be available on PC, via the Steam platform for USD19.99 (price will vary depending on country). Here's a link to the Steam Store Page. =============== Who can get it? Everyone. Note that ALL backers who have pledged for the "You get the game" package or higher will receive a Steam Key, and get the Early Access for free. How do backers get their key? We will send them via Kickstarter messaging. We'll send a very small update saying when they're all sent. What's in the Early Access? The Early Access, on launch, will contain ONE chapter out of FOUR in total, which represents approximately 4 to 6 hours of gameplay. Why Early Access? The main reason we've decided to make an Early Access is because our fans are dying to play the game. We realize we've been pushing things quite a bit (more details on why down below), and we want to get our game done and in your hands as soon as possible. Seriously, we do, but game development is hard, as we've come to understand, and it takes a lot of time. With that said, we believe the Early Access is a good game on its own and will (mostly) not hinder the final experience for the player, and that's why we've decided to make it happen.Even more importantly, we wanted to gather feedback from you guys, before we finalize all the other content for the game, and shape it into something you'll hopefully love.More detailed information on the Early Access is available on the Steam Store Page, be sure to check it out. What about the pledges? An updated version of the pledges follows:"You get the game" package+ You have access to the Early Access game ON PC for free, which automatically grants you access to the PC Full Release."You get the game (console)" package+ You will get the Full Release on your chosen console for free."Awesome backer" package+ All of the above. + All backers have their name displayed in the Early Access game's credits already."Beta" package+ All of the above. + You will have access to the Full release game sooner than Full Release Date (how much time is to be determined)."Have your say" package + All of the above. + All the backers have their comments and name displayed in the Early Access game's credits already. + You get the digital soundtrack as a Steam DLC."Physical goodies" package (CA$ 150 package)+ All of the above. + All physical items will be delivered after Full Release."Design an achievement" package + Everything from the "We love you" package to the "Goodies" package + All achievements will be available on Full Release only."Event designer" package + Everything from the "We love you" package to the "Goodies" package + All events will be available on Full Release only."Your face in the game" package + Everything from the "We love you" package to the "Goodies" package + All pictures will be available on Full Release only."You're the composer" package + Everything from the "We love you" package to the "Goodies" package + All music will be available on Full Release only."Master of puppet" package + Everything from the "We love you" package to the "Goodies" package + All mini-arcs will be available on Full Release only."You become the ghost" package + Everything from the "We love you" package to the "Goodies" package + A whole chapter revolving around this partical "ghost" will be playable on Full Release (around 4 hours of gameplay). The long story behind VisageWe know communication has not been ideal from our side, so we're putting the whole story right here. If you are interested, stay with me. We'll talk about us and the struggles we dealt with while developing the game. You'll get to know us a bit better by the end of this. Why the long wait? That's a though one. Before answering that, let's dive a little deeper on how development was made. As you've now come to know, there are currently only two people working on the game full-time. Let us share some more information about that. Now now, of course Visage was not built only by two persons. We have had help from many wonderful and skilled people, and we'd like to shoutout a special thanks to Jonathan Wachoru, our very generous Lead Sound Designer, Peter Wicher, who composed great music for the game, Martin Mcghee for his great work as a character modeler, Chas! Pangburn, a very active and dedicated backer who helped us with some of the visual assets in the game, and everyone who helped us making this game possible. All these great people have been working for us on and off, sometimes paid, sometimes unpaid, because they believed in the project and its promises. It's thanks to them that we're where we are now, so close, yet so far, to releasing the full game. They have helped us in many different domains ranging from making sound assets and assisting in in-game sound design, character modeling, motion capture animations, some marketing, providing 2D assets like posters and comic books, and any stuff we didn't have the required skills to do.And let me tell you one thing for certain, these guys are freaking awesome, for they are working with us out of passion mostly, because while it may seem like quite much, ~$CND100,000, is very, very little for making a video game such as Visage, so they cooked out some deals for us. Please know that we are extremely grateful to our backers, but also note that very little of that money actually went to us, the two founders. We are very lucky to be able to work on the game full-time, and we mostly have our families who believe in us to thank for that, not exactly the generous amount that came from you wonderful people. That money was used to outsource what we couldn't do ourselves. We're not trying to play the victims here. This problem is of our making, and there's no one else to blame but us. We'll try to explain development through our perspective, though. Here's the idea: Two completely inexperienced dudes who have never made a game before in their lives come in and say:"Hey, let's make a horror game.""Sounds great, I love horror games!"It's the story of this and that, and there's spooky stuff happening... Before long, we had a grandiose scenario, and it required a ton of gameplay elements to make it possible.Any experienced game developer would have laughed at us and tell us to slow down and be realistic. Well, thing is, there was no one to tell us how hard exactly it was to make such a game. And once we were diving in it, we always told ourselves "eh, it's just a small addition." Until the game became a ~20 hours game with motion capture animations, somewhat complex AI, pretty damn good visuals that need to work on the very limited console hardware while being a close-to-no-loading-screen game, a ton of gameplay elements that vary greatly between chapters, a dynamic save system, and holy shit so many other things available in some AAA games. Except they have a team of 20+ experienced workers. Well, we implemented it all, and it took a damn long time, and it was very hard at times. Then came the immense brick wall: making the game ready for release. The whole script was done, we had pretty much all the environments and gameplay elements we needed, and everything "almost" worked. That's the "almost" that hit hard. Very hard. Suddently, we thought we were ready for release, but we weren't even close.Bugs started to pile up, code done two years ago had to be re-worked, because in two years, you learn an awful lot, and you realize that what you did with no experience is actually pretty close to garbage. And it's then we've come to realize how much stuff needed to be done "after making the actual game". We have one programmer (hi, that's me). Hey programmer, where's the UI? Where are the video settings? Where is the Xbox One/PS4 version in 30 FPS? How do we package for release on all platforms? How do we link Steam/PlayStation Network/Xbox Live? What about achievements? What about ratings? Sound settings? Subtitles? Localization? Loading Screen? Gamma correction? Features from Unreal Engine update 4.19/4.20? The list goes on.Well... What do you know, the human brain has its limit, and when its limit is reached for too long, I guess it breaks. And it did.I'll spare the details, but I went through quite the dark stuff, and so did my friend, the co-founder. Our mental health suffered a great deal and it took its toll on us. Work was a lot slower for a while... We're getting back on track though.Visage has been our life for almost 4 years now. An experimental psychological horror game. Not the very popular kind of game, from a business perspective, so here's to hoping that the gamers of this world prove us wrong! We can only live so long on passion. So there it is I guess. Why did it take so long to get to where we are now? It all comes down to two things: inexperience and overwork. With that said, there is still quite a bit of work to be done, but it's manageable. And this time we say it with a more experienced confidence. We'll start with the incremental Early Access, and in what we estimate to be 4 months, you'll have the full experience in your hands. Ending Note We do believe that our game has something quite unique to offer—the Early Access is nothing but a sneek peek—and we really hope you'll think so too after playing it".
