a few weeks back i suddenly had a lil kick and remembered I haven't tried making something for Madness Day or really done Madness stuff for a long time even though i still love these violent jellybeans dearly and figured I could redo a concept I did for the last Madness Day i did something for back in 2021.

so naturally i left it until last night to actually do most of the drawing. Jeb, Hank and Tricky have all died a stupid amount of times.

the doors of their parable!! the idea of making the doors comes from @/betrootsoup here so I tried my hand at it. I will probably clean that and put colors but for now, you'll have that :D I tried to reflect the vibe of their stories the best I could for now, so you can imagine "Better Tomorrow" has more vibrant colors than "Heartache"... both their doors can/will change slightly over time :)

For my birthday I dug through some old notes and found a 8-month-buried oc of mine- Krähe, which judging by my very outdated notes is a combat technician, fulfilling the roles of an Ara in the midst of combat, like running between friendly tanks for mid-battle repair.

Random recovered yap- they're fairly similar to Aras. They're introverted and quiet most times but tight-knit. But don't deploy more than a few at a time! They operate best in small groups headed by a Kolibri, no more than four Krähes to a Kolibri, better only two. More than one group can operate in a field at a time. Their group is designated by an insignia on their right arm, on their red stripe, if such an insignia happens to exist. They're quietly very loyal to their allies and the few friends they happen to make- though the nature of their roles mean such friends tend to not live long. They tend to use weapons that are outdated in function but modified for power and reliability. At any moment, they can double as adept soldiers and even tank crew. As fetish objects, they look after and care for their tools. Don't even think of taking one away, it's an efficient method to get at least two well-armed technicians to retrieve it. Aggressively.

Dang, being nonhuman really is just like being trans, where I look back at my life and go, "Ohhhhhhhh, so THAT'S where it came from." It's easy for me to fall into the habit of thinking, "Well I just found this new label but I don't want it to infiltrate my whole life." But... it already has. All those moments pretending to be a cat on the playground, making fake "dog packs" with my friends, wrestling with my dog and laying next to her as if I was just another pup, attaching to my dog and cat stuffed animals, making dog-like noises to supplement my words, pretending I had (and still have) a tail to wag when I wanted, shaking out my "fur" and huffing just because I "liked mimicking my dog"—those were all my nonhumanity shining through. Me identifying with the nonhuman/therian label isn't an outliner, it's just the trend.

Honestly, I'm getting a bit tired myself, so I'll probably just start more passively watching Foolish. This was a very fun night for liveblogging tho, and it was an absolute joy to see this fandom come to life!
