Reminders

I wish people would stop saying things like “reminder” and “friendly reminder” and stuff because it really stresses me out?  Like it’s always passive aggressive and worse than that it assumes that people somehow have this knowledge that they are just choosing to ignore.

As opposed to never having been exposed to the idea, for example.

And it also tends to position whosever posting it in a position of authority--it doesn’t matter what it is, even if it’s a complicated issue, it tends to reduce it to “this is clearly the correct side of the issue and if you don’t agree you are Bad And Wrong And Evil”.

Like, sometimes I very much agree with the post in question but I really REALLY wish people wouldn’t treat complex issues as reductionist simple things ESPECIALLY with language that tends to scold and guilt trip and reduce anyone who disagrees to somehow evil as opposed to maybe a person who’s had slightly different experiences or even simply hasn’t been exposed to the idea.
