RYYYYYY CONGRATS AGAIN ON 1.2K !!!! im super excited for this event hehehe it's always so much fun to see who people think their friends are compatible with??? AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA SHAKING U AROUND just make sure you take care of yourself okay? i've done matchups before and it was exhausting :C so make sure you’re not overexerting yourself alright?

#i am thinking abt promare #and the first time i watched it !!!!!#i was so excited... i went autism crazy abt it immediately it was all i could think about #i got tickets for one of the showings and then i had to go jogging outside like every night b4 it was time bc i was soooo excited #i wanted 2 see the animation it looked so fun. did not know anything abt actual movie content but i was pleasantly surprised #I WAS SO NERVOUS ON THE DRIVE BC I WAS LIKE FUCK WHAT IF IM DRIVING 2 1/2 HOURS TO GO SEE IT AND I HATE IT #luckily i thought it was epic i loved it so much !!!! im still very >:3 about it if they do more theater showings im gonna #shake w excitement abt it again #AND THE REDUX I WAS SO EXCITED FOR IT I SAW THE TRAILER WHEN I WAS ON BREAK AT OUTPATIENT #BOUGHT TICKETS RIGHT AWAY i was soo happy it was in town lol #i still get so very autism abt it i love it so much. special interest of perfect timing it rly helped pull me out of the depression i was in #i definitely wouldnt be where i am now without it.. it did so much for me..#<3 prmare hehe #mine

ok so i wanted to say im good at art but i feel like the parameters on that are perhaps a little skewed in my mind compared to the average person. personally i think many things about what being "good at art" constitutes (as in i believe most anyone who creates is good at it lol) so ill just say that. i am very good at organizing and categorization! (probably the autism :P) and i suppose i am bad at. starting new media and actually paying attention lol. my brother is always asking to watch shows and movies with me and i am just. always incapable of doing so 😭

cats!! i appreciate dogs but as a pet owner i do quite enjoy having cats :) i have two at the moment! peach and apricot! they are both types of calicos :)

summary: park jisung was supposed to be more than a passing cloud, than a fleeting moment.

author’s note: this was supposed to be a blurb but it kind of turned into a really long drabble or oneshot, whatever you wanna call it hehe. it’s been about two or three years since i last written something so i’m quite rusty but please enjoy and let me know what you think!

“hey jisung, we’re still on for tonight right?” you chirped cheerily, not bothering to hide the cheeky smile adorning your face. you had been looking forward to this all week, and it was really hard not to show it. you skipped over to his side of the room, taking a seat besides him.

you had been harboring a crush on your friend for god-knows how long (about a year actually) and had jokingly suggested that he owed you a movie date days ago during your weekly study session with him. to your pleasant surprise, he had agreed without any hesitation, and you had taken that as a sign that maybe — just maybe, he saw you as more than just a friend. maybe.

you frowned when you realized you hadn’t gotten a response and looked up to see jisung’s fluffy brown hair engrossed in his video game on his tablet. “hey! jisung!” you called out again across the desk.

no reaction.

you rolled your eyes and sighed before grabbing a pencil and lightly throwing it to get his attention. it hit his shoulder, causing him to finally glance up. he scowled and barked out a “what do you want?” before returning his concentration on his game.

“woah, sorry...” you felt awkward now realizing how annoyed he was. “i just wanted to ask if we were still on for tonight.”

he looked up again, eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “what’s tonight?”

before you even realize it, a deep scowl marred your face. how could he forget? you had been mentioning it all week now.

“you know, the movie...? the one you promised we’d watch together?” you asked eagerly, hoping his brain would get off of whatever game he was playing and return back to reality.

“oh. that.” his tone was indifferent and you couldn’t help but tense up in annoyance. he really forgot? “yeah, sure...” before quietly mumbling, “if i’m free.”

you wanted to scoff at his dryness, but chose to be considerate and give him the benefit of the doubt. maybe he just wasn’t having a good day and he wanted to be left alone for now. maybe if you gave him some space he’d be in a better mood tonight. hopefully, you thought.

“i’m going to go, but i’ll text you, ‘kay?” you tried your best to smile despite the butterflies swirling in your stomach (the bad ones, the ones that looked pretty but were actually poisonous), but jisung doesn’t even bother to lift his head from the screen before muttering something that sounded vaguely like a bye. you sigh, and turn on your heel quickly.

hopefully all would go well tonight.

you spoke too soon.

you had texted jisung an hour or two before the designated time you both were supposed to meet each other at the movie theater, asking if he was free later to confirm that your plans and he had simply responded with “probably.” you would be lying to say that his offhandedness about this entire situation wasn’t bothering you at all but you had been so excited for this opportunity to finally spend some quality time with him that you were willing to overlook his odd behavior.

you had decided to leave the house about thirty minutes before you were supposed to be at the movie theater, and quickly took your phone out to text him.

➤ hey i’m about to leave the house! ➤ don’t forget to bring an umbrella. it looks kind of rainy outside

you peered outside the window, looking at the gloomy skies. however, you were determined that nothing was going to ruin tonight for you, not even some threatening grey clouds. by the time you arrived, you checked your phone again. you bit your lip in exasperation to see no notifications pop up, unlocking your phone only to see that jisung hadn’t even read your messages. maybe he was busy and simply saw it without opening the chat.

obviously, jisung wasn’t the most punctual person in the world, but you had specifically told him to come earlier than you days ago for that very matter. the weather outside seemed to be an omen, but you remained adamant. no stormy weather was going to ruin your time as long as you had jisung by your side. he was going to be here soon and you would have a good time, like you had hoped.

you decided after nervously waiting outside the doors, watching the skies slowly get darker and darker (as if it was a sign of impending doom), that maybe it would be a good to finally call him. you had scrolled on your social media to pass time, and saw he was online. maybe something had happened?

you tapped on your phone, letting the call ring only to wait for an automated voicemail of “hey it’s jisung, i’m probably busy rig— hey! jaemin! give me my phone back! oh my god, stop it, i’m trying to record a voicema—“

you felt your chest constrict as you took in a deep breath and exhaled shakily. there’s no way he forgot... right? you had just talked to him today about it. maybe his phone died or he was playing another silly prank on you and hiding somewhere.

[6:43pm]

➤ come on ji, im actually going to get mad if you don’t show up soon >:( ➤ you were just on instagram like 15 minutes ago...? is something wrong? please let me know.

the number of strangers who passed by you who eyed you curiously increased, and you couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed with anxiety. you hated waiting alone, especially in public. it was nerve wracking and jisung knew it. your feelings of doubt and unease were creeping up behind you. maybe this was all just a bad nightmare and you’d wake up from it soon.

the skies began to drizzle as you stood beneath the awning of the movie theater. your body was clammy and shivering. it was cold and you had forgotten your jacket and umbrella, despite even reminding jisung to bring himself an umbrella. just your luck.

you glanced at the clock ticking by, and you knew the showing of the movie had started long ago. however there was another showtime, so you tried your best not to fret. if he showed up soon, you could still watch the movie. if not, any other movie would’ve been okay with you. where is he? why isn’t he showing up?

you decide after waiting for almost 45 minutes that you should give him another call. it went straight to voicemail again. you felt tears finally begin to prickle in your eyes as you angrily typed out a message to him.

[7:12pm]

➤ jisung... if you were busy you could’ve just told me. ➤ this really isn’t a funny joke at all. i’m actually pretty upset. ➤ the last showtime is in 15 minutes, please text or call back.

frustration and betrayal overcame your body as you began trembling, trying your best to hold in your tears. the number of people entering had diminished, but you refused to let yourself cry in public. this was already humiliating enough as it was.

you decided as a last resort to call one of his friends, and you scrolled through your contacts before dialing na jaemin’s number.

after a few rings, he picked up to your great surprise.

“hey (y/n)! what’s up?”

“um, hey.. i-i was just wondering, if... jisung was with you by any chance...?”

you heard some shuffling around before he spoke up again. “uh yeah, he is actually. is something wrong...? you don’t sound okay.”

you bit your lip, holding in a sigh of relief because jisung was okay and alive before realizing that your tears were about to burst. you swallowed your tears and let out another shaky breath before answering.

“c-can i just talk to jisung please? he hasn’t been picking up my calls.” you sniffled, voice cracking as you gripped your phone tightly.

jaemin frowned on the other end of the call before, managing to sense your urgency and emotion in your voice. “okay, give me a second,“ as he went to find the younger boy.

“hey jisung, (y/n)‘s on the phone,” you could some hear yelling in the back before you heard some more shuffling and screaming. jaemin tried to cover his phone’s mic but you managed to pick up bits of the conversation anyways.

“what is it jaemin? i’m in the middle of a game right now,” jisung’s deep voice spoke in an irked tone. you would recognize his voice anywhere — what you once deemed to be soothing no longer brought the sense of comfort you needed right now.

“jisung, she called me saying ... hadn’t been picking up ... calls! tell hyuck.. play for you and talk ... now!” you could hear some groaning through the crackly audio, before jisung’s voice piped up on the line.

“um, hey (y/n) what’s up? why’d you call me... i’m kinda busy right now.”

your lips quivered along, feeling your heart fall before the dam actually broke. you croaked out, “park jisung.. don’t you remember what tonight was? i’ve been waiting for an hour and a half now! i thought you were dying or something.”

jisung’s eyes widened before he sighed, “uh, shoot sorry. i’m busy with the boys right now and kinda forgot.” your tears dripped down your face as the raining outside ironically began to pour down harder at that very moment. you almost dropped your phone in shock. that was his reason for not making it? you felt as if your heart was being crushed, suffocated by jisung’s hands. how could he be so.. callous?

“jisung, we’ve talked about this all week and you promised! i asked you this morning, and afternoon and i even texted you!” sobs began to wrack through your body as you could no longer contain it anymore. you tried to wipe the tears away as quickly as you could, not wanting anyone to witness your meltdown, yet to no avail. “how could you forget?”

jisung rolled his eyes and sighed. he didn’t know why you were just attacking him like this and interrupting him in the middle of a game. he retorted with irritation piercing his voice, “look (y/n), i don’t know why you’re being so dramatic but like it’s not that big of a deal. it’s just another dumb movie anyways, and i didn’t even really think these were definite plans. i said probably and things change, you know that.”

embarrassment flushed through your body, before anger replaced it.

you swallowed harshly, feeling all self-restraint leave your body, all your anger and bitterness clouding your thoughts leaving you dizzy and breathless. “i can’t believe you... i waited for you because i thought.. that you were excited for this chance too.”

“my friends always come first, you know that! i thought i made that perfectly clear so why are you so upset?” jisung barked out, clenching his fists. he knew he was wrong but he was stubborn and irritated, wanting nothing more but to go back and claim his victory instead of wasting his time arguing with you.

you couldn’t believe your ears, your heart shattering as you took in every word he was saying. was this the same park jisung you knew and fell in love with? how could it be? you were an idiot for believing he actually liked you back, that you had a chance with him. he had always seemed untouchable, and now you were seeing his true colors. this clearly didn’t mean as much to him as it did to you and you had gotten your answer.

“i have every right to be upset! you made a promise and you broke it. you left me hanging and blew me off, for what? games? there’s more to life than just playing video games with your friends jisung!” you bit your tongue, before continuing, your emotions blowing through the roof as they overtook your body.

“i’m not just some girl you decided to blow off because you didn’t know. i never expected you to choose between me or your friends because i’m also your friend too. i thought we were friends but this shows how much you really care about our friendship. i waited here for you. i don’t want your bullshit excuse anymore, you can go play whatever games you want as long as they’re not with me. i’m not your toy jisung or a game, and you can’t win me like this. have a nice life.”

“wait (y/n)—“ you ended the call hastily, not wanting to hear another word come out of his mouth.

you shut your eyes as you tightly to hold in the tears. if your whole world had been torn away to unveil a big, fat ugly lie in the end. this wasn’t the park jisung you knew. this was park jisung, the boy who you had fallen utterly and hopelessly for. the boy who made your heart flutter with his shameless laugh, who spent hours awake at ungodly hours of night watching anime with you when no one else would. who would make fun of you but spend hours trying to teach you play video games or take you out to eat ice cream whenever he knew you were feeling down.who managed to lift up your mood with his incessant teasing that you grew to learn was just his way of caring, so effortlessly.

how could you be so foolish to work yourself up just to be devastated in the very end? you wished for this to be a nightmare. your hopes of fulfilling your dream date with the boy you had been pining after for the last year or so had been had been crushed. you looked up into the drizzling rain and grey clouds wondering where you had gone wrong. the clouds passed by fleetingly. you could’t help but laugh at how cliché this was. this was how you would remember your heartbreak, under a grey sky full of rain. and there was nothing else you could do about it.

he was nothing but a fleeting cloud passing by in your life.

im glad i still have time hehe. anyway for the ship: im a brazilian girl and my style drift mostly between cottagecore and dark academia. im also in love with movies, literature, fashion (esp. historical fashion) and i just strat getting interested in insects. some of my hobbies are singing, writing and baking/cooking (sp. traditional br food). finally im kinda of a touchy (honestly im all about skinship lol) and clingey/awkward being who also (as you can see) likes to talk a lot

hi youmi ilu can u give me some movie recs pls?? i rlly haven't watched any movies Ever besides like... parasite and kids movies. and maybe the odd award winning movie too LMAO

omg okay!!!

the handmaiden!!! best movie best cinematography!!!!! im absolutely in love with the colors and the costumes and it has such a solid story and the actresses have great chemistry too,,, the message of the movie is so strong as well but i don’t wanna spoil sjfhkb (tw sexual abuse)

sympathy for lady vengeance, especially the version that fades to black and white bc it’s so visually pleasing!!! there are several shots that are forever engraved in my mind like it’s such a shocking movie in the best/worst way (can’t give spoilers but.. it does get hard to watch??), the main actress is incredible, she has so many iconic lines and ugh!!! it’s just so good and im still thinking abt it to this day,, in general park chan wook’s movie have female characters that have agency so it’s really satisfying to watch !!! (tw rape, violence, blood)

eternal sunshine of the spotless mind is one of my favourite love stories bc it’s so unconventional, it has elements of sci fi but it focuses more on the main couple than anything else,,,, basically they broke up before the movie starts and the guy discovers that the girl erased her memory and he ends up making the same decision and it goes from there and i cried sm shgdvj i also love stories that don’t have linear storylines so that hits the mark for me

moonlight... lit rully poetic cinema...... it’s so tender but also so violent at times, like it’s a movie that doesn’t shy away from showing u sadness and suffering and it’s such a special movie (and it’s gorgeous!!!!!!) there r several lines in that movie that make me crazy,,, it’s all abt the lingering stares,,,,,, (tw homophobia, violence, drugs)

what we do in the shadows is simply the funniest movie ever, it’s a mockumentary abt vampires and thats all u need to know

the half of it!!! i just watched it and ugh sgjjbk it’s not a rom com, it’s more of a coming of age story and it’s so special to me bc i really relate to it since the director is a chinese american lesbian, and the main character too,,, i luv the cinematography and the connections between ellie and the other characters,,, it’s great

gone girl is probably the best thriller ever, it’s incredible, the plot is sooooo good and the execution is incredible like i already knew the plot twist before watching but it didn’t affect my enjoyment of the movie at all,, rosamund pikes as amy is just ugh i don’t even have the words!!! wheres her oscar!!! i recommend reading the book too (tw blood, men)

emma (2020) is an adaptation of one of my favourite jane austen novels and it was excellent!! the whole cast was perfect, the costumes too, and the colors r so pretty!!! like it’s such a pretty movie!!!!! it’s a love story ig but it’s mainly abt emma maturing, bc shes a privileged jerk tbh but shes still really endearing hsvdfgj basically she loooves matchmaking and she ends up hurting people bc she actually sucks at matchmaking (i won’t say more)

pride and prejudice (2005),,, such a stunning movie, and ugh!!! they just know. they know what slowburn romance is!!!!! also keira knightley is really pretty

rear window is one of the only hitchcock movies i’ve ever watched and i really recommend it!! it’s fun and i love that it only has one setting,,, basically the main character is stuck at home and spends his time watching his neighbors from his window HOWEVER one day he witnesses a murder!!! TUN TUN TUN!!!!! grace kelly is beauty itself in this movie as well hehe

roman holiday is another classic movie i love!! it has my girl audrey hepburn and shes a princess and basically she falls in love with a journalist and spends one day in rome with him,,, thats the whole movie and i loved watching it it’s so romantic

gentlemen prefer blondes is so iconic!!! i actually love the dynamic between marilyn monroe and jane russell, it’s such a fun movie and it’s a MUSICAL!!!! girls DO love diamonds!!!!!

birds of prey is one of my fave superhero movies, i adore the fight scenes bc theyre all so exciting and creative, i love harley quinn as a narrator and main character, all the actresses were excellent,,, im really happy it was the last movie i watched in theaters before quarantine

(a/n: it’s been a HOT MINUTE since i’ve seen wrath of khan - which, btw, if you haven’t, WATCH IT. best ST movie imo - so excuse me if i got anything off hehe. this is kind of a short imagine for me, but i didnt want to bore anyone w the details of star trek in case they’re not a fan!!! and im tired af from work so this is the best i could do. also, gif credits to @imladrs tysm ily)

Freddie had never been known to let anyone deter him when he had his mind made up on something. He was stubborn, to a fault, and you appreciated him for that. It was a good quality to have in his line of work, which was cutthroat at best.

But sometimes, it really pissed you off.

“Freddie, please just watch the movie with me!” you begged, tugging on his hand as he tried to rise off the couch. He sighed and stood still, waiting for you to stop pulling on his arm.

You’d tricked him into having a movie night with you instead of going out, and you didn’t tell him that you’d be watching The Wrath of Khan until you’d already started the movie. You hadn’t seen it because you’d been on tour with him when it had been released, so you’d managed to snag a copy of it and now here you were, pleading with him to just sit down and watch it with you.

“I don’t want to watch it, Y/N, you know how much the one a few years ago bored me,” he reminded you, his eyebrow raising as you pouted at him and gave him the saddest puppy dog eyes you could manage. His cigarette hung out of his other hand loosely, almost threatening to fall as he furrowed his eyebrows at you. “Don’t give me that look, you litt-“

“Fred! Just a couple hours, that’s all I’m asking.”

He toyed with the idea, knowing that he’d never hear the end of it if he said no, but also really not wanting to watch another uninteresting movie about living spaceships and William Shatner. It was Brian’s territory, all this space stuff, and he wasn’t a fan. “Let me think about it,” he murmured, mulling over the idea as he took another drag.

But, you ended up making up his mind for him when you kissed his knuckles and then rested your head against his hand. “Fred, please,” you whined softly, pressing your cheek against the back of his hand and looking up at him through your lashes.

“Damn you,” he muttered, trying not to smile as he plopped back down on the couch and put out his cigarette in the ashtray. You were fatally adorable when you gave him that look, and you knew it. As annoyed as he was trying to act, he still wrapped his arm around you and pulled you close when you snuggled up to his side, and he rested his head on yours. “Now, is this going to be as terrible as the last one?” he asked, making you giggle.

“I don’t know, Fred,” you quickly replied, wrapping your arms around his torso and staring intently at the screen.

“Because if it is, I’m leaving, I’m just saying that now. Star Trek is Brian’s favorite, not mine,” he continued, huffing softly and appearing slightly irritated that he was actually watching this right now. “God, I bet I hate this. You really like this?”

“My friends said it was the best movie they’d seen in a while. Brian raved about it. Now hush, Fred.” Kirk was leading some trainees in a battle simulation, and you were interested to see where this movie was headed. You hadn’t heard anything about what it was like besides some friends telling you it was incredible, so you were excited to watch and hoped that Freddie would keep his mouth shut. He did, at least for a while – after a certain point, he was bound to be curious.

“Who’s that, darling?” Freddie asked when Khan appeared on screen, and you rolled your eyes and didn’t answer. As if on cue, two seconds later, Chekov said his name, and Freddie made a noise of acknowledgement as he played with the hem of your shirt absentmindedly. He hated to admit it, but this movie was already loads better than the 1979 one, and he was way more entertained than he’d expected to be.

The questions did stay to a minimum, and you didn’t say it out loud, but you knew Freddie’s feigned apathetic stance towards the movie was getting harder and harder for him to pull off. He was actually invested, and you knew it, which made you grin as you watched. His grip on your shirt got tighter as Khan fired at the Enterprise, and remained tight throughout the entirety of that scene.

“Well, I’ll be damned,” he breathed out once the Reliant retreated, looking at you. “What’s going to happen?”

You laughed and reached up to pat his cheek gently, shrugging before looking back at the screen. “I told you love, I haven’t seen this movie yet! I’m as clueless as you. Now, hush.”

He whined, clinging onto your shirt as he scooted closer. “I tell you what, stop telling me to hush. I’m a grown man.”

“And you’re talking like a child in a movie theater, dear,” you reminded him, making it his turn to pout. You laughed at the insulted look on his face, and quickly kissed him on the cheek, then turned your eyes back to the screen again. “I’m sorry, I didn’t mean it. You’re not like a child.”

But your words fell on deaf ears, for he was already focused on the movie again, his eyes glazed over. And now he was so into it, that he didn’t speak again until you neared the end of the Mutara Nebula battle.

“What in the bloody hell was that?!” he exclaimed, sitting upright whenever Spock nerve pinched McCoy and entered the engine room.

“Freddie, you’re spoiling it!” you laughed, pulling him back down to your level and wrapping an arm around his shoulders, then placing your hand over his mouth. “I’m going to have to pinch you like that if you don’t shut it!”

Freddie replied, but it was incoherent and muffled against your hand, so you ignored him as you both watched Spock bring the power back to function. Freddie didn’t realize just how serious that was until he realized Kirk was talking to a dying Spock, and you couldn’t help but tear up a bit at the scene. Leonard Nimoy’s character always held a special place in your heart, so logical, so cool, that you were somewhat devastated by this happening.

And you didn’t realize Freddie was too, until one of his tears hit the top of your hand during Spock’s funeral, and you looked up to see he was full on crying, just as Saavik was. “Fred,” you gasped, letting go of his mouth and staring in disbelief as he sniffled and wiped away his tears quickly, refusing to look at you.

“What? Leave me alone,” he quickly muttered, watching the screen and holding back further tears as he pretended to be unbothered. You saw the reflection of Spock’s coffin in Freddie’s watery eyes, and you smiled widely as you saw him shed another tear as it landed on Genesis. “Oh, fuck me,” he finally whispered, pressing the heels of his hands into his eyes and laying face down in your lap as you laughed in pure happiness.

“You liked it!” you cheered, running your hand over his hair and petting it gently as he laid on your lap, unmoving. “You liked it, you liked it, you bloody liked it!”

He groaned in agony as you cheered, knowing you’d been right all along, and refused to sit up as you grinned ear to ear. “Ugh, stop, fuck off and die,” was all you could get in response, and that just made you laugh harder because you knew he meant it in the most affectionate way. He pressed a quick peck of a kiss to the top of your thigh right after, confirming your assumption as his mustache scratched against your skin.

“Freddieeeee,” you drawled out in a singsong voice, crawling off the couch and kneeling in front of it. He laid there limply, his flushed face squished against the couch and dark eyes bloodshot from the crying, and the sight was enough to make your heart soften as you reached up to cup his cheek gently. “Was it good, love?” you asked, your voice softer now that you’d gotten the gloating out of your system.

“Yeah,” he croaked out, sniffling again and rubbing his eyes. “Yeah, it was really good. I quite liked it.”

The same grin reappeared on your face, and Freddie rolled his eyes as he realized you were about to cheer again. Laying on the floor next to the couch, you threw your arms up in the air in triumph. “Woo! What a rush.”

“Oh, you’re such a gracious winner, love,” Freddie grumbled, crawling off the couch to lay next to you. You scooted over, letting the gracious winner in you make space for the poor man who’d just lost face in front of you. But there was a ghost of a smile playing at Freddie’s lips, and he pressed a kiss to your shoulder before pinning you down and tickling you, laughing as you squealed and wriggled around, making futile attempts to escape his wrath. “But guess what? I’m a sore loser!

oh yeah before I forget again probably because it was stuck in time prison the pineapple could see that snippy was gonna die soon. fun! more on that later.

I was feeling tired of walking on the endless, semi-destroyed highway and arguing with captain over 1024 ways of getting rich was a real grind on my nerves.

god this is still so, so dated... even if scene emo core sparkle dogz etc are making a semi ironic comback, and i do find this type of captain endearing, its still so dated. 😔 pre and early 2010 interwebs was a different beast i tellz yous

I stared suspiciously at the Captain's hand-watch. The watch had four hands to it. The big hour hands were colored green and blue. I chose not to question this.

is this watch similar to the one at the movie theater. or maybe captains newest way of keeping track of captainia citizens. what does it mean that green and blue (pilot and snippy?) are the hour hands. what does it imply that "driving over the rainbow" set the clock back 7 minutes.

its the things i dont know that make me most curious. lol

mein gott the next chapter is snippy and pilot fucking around but i dont have time to read it and mull it over....... but now im excited hehe cant wait to get off work

It was a four seated car, two in the front and two in the back. The outside of the car was a dark red, while the inside was brown.

They all got settled inside and starting driving to...'Actually, where are we going?'

Nervously, Virgil asked, "Um...where are we going?"

Roman was the one driving with Logan in the front passenger's seat. That left Patton and Virgil to sit in the back left and right respectively. Patton was the one that answered his question.

"Well, I wanted to do a whole lotta stuff, but Logan said we should start small. So...we are going to see a movie! Do you have any ideas as to which movie you wanna watch, kiddo?" Patton looked excited. Almost as if getting to know Virgil was more fun than the movie theaters.

"I've-uh...I've never been to a movie theater. I also don't really know what movies are out. I...uh...never had enough money to afford it, so instead I just didn't pay attention to that kinda stuff." Even though he had paychecks every week, it's hard to afford luxury items when you have to pay rent. Rent that is almost 3 times as much as one of your paychecks. All the while buying food and other essential things daily.

So instead of getting jealous, he ignored everything he couldn't afford.

"Oh...hmmm..." Patton seemed to get lost in his thoughts as a turned and stared out the window. "Hmmmmmm..." Thinking the conversation was over, Virgil turned towards his window. The suddenly,

"I got it!"

The sudden outburst from Patton didn't only scare Virgil. Roman swerved the car a little bit because of his surprise.

"Jeez, Patton! Don't do that! Remember the last time you did that while I was on the road? We almost crashed!" Roman's actions suggested that he has went through this before, as he had quickly acted and fixed the car from turning over too much. "You better be glad I'm used to your outbursts."

"Hehe, sorry," he nervously replied, "I just thought of the perfect movie for Virgil!"

"...is it Disney?" Roman said in a lowered voice.

"Yep!" He whispered back.

"Alright!"

"Roman, keep your eyes on the road while driving an automobile."

"Why don't you just call it a car? You don't always have to speak nerd."

"Ugh."

"Ro? Would you please stop calling Lo a nerd?"

"Oh, my lovely Pat, don't worry! It's all in fun and games!"

Watching them bicker, Virgil sat in his seat, quietly laughing to himself at their arguments.

When they had made it to the movie theater Logan, being the responsible adult he is, bought the movie tickets to a movie that Virgil knew nothing about. Roman told him it was a Disney movie and that was all he needed to know.

Before they sat down, Patton had asked everyone if they wanted any snacks. Virgil had refused at first. He didn't want them to spend anymore money on him then they already had. Patton had, once again, refused to take no for an answer and got a big bucket of popcorn for everyone to share. He even got a drink for Virgil, saying it was "Just in case you got thirsty."

When the movie finally started, he found out that the title was 'Moana'. He had actually seen this around online a few times. Virgil personally didn't think he would like it, but once Moana left her island in the movie, he was taken.

He didn't realize just how long he had been staring at the movie screen, until the movie ended. Roman, who was sitting to the left of him, nudged Virgil with his elbow. "So, did you like the movie?"

"Yeah...it was great." Virgil gave Roman a smile. "Thanks for taking me out."

"Hey, it was no problem! A Prince will always help those in need!"

"Okay, princey. I get it." Rolling his eyes, he looks to the right of him, towards Logan and Patton, "Thanks, you guys."

"Awww, your welcome kiddo, but the day isn't over yet."

"Huh?"

"We are going to one more place before we stop! For today, anyway." Patton leaned over Logan, to get closer to Virgil, and said, "Logan noticed you look really skinny. He said that years of being under-fed have taken a toll on your body."

Logan didn't seem to mind that Patton was on top of him, and stated, "Yes, being malnourished for as long as you have, can have negative impacts on your life."

"Since you currently don't have the best living conditions to purchase nutritional and filling foods, we are going to take you out to eat. As well as buy you some food to take back to your apartment."

Overwhelmed, Virgil quickly stammered out, "Y-you don't have to do this...for me. Im..." Although it was left unsaid, the other three knew what he was implying.

"Don't you dare continue that thought. You are worth it, kiddo. You didn't deserve the life you were born in." Patton's serious tone surprised him. 'I didn't think he could get so...stern.' Patton continued, "Your family doesn't deserve you."

Roman added, "We all care about you Virgil. So let us do this."

By the time they left the movie theater, Virgil had tears running down his face. However, for once, they were happy tears.

Groundhog Day Broadway reaction post!!!! I’ve been waiting to see it for like a year and a half, and boy howdy do I like this show. I saw one preview, opening night, and once front row! General thoughts, plus a section at the bottom for opening night specifically (aka me stressing unnecessarily about his injury)

Disclaimer one: I wrote about spoilers, stuff I like, stuff I don’t like, staging, the whole nine. largely show-chronological. may not make sense to you unless you’ve seen the show

Disclaimer two: I wrote this on a bus in the middle of the night so it is not the most coherent.

tl;dr all the people who say “i’m too busy literally spinning on bill murray’s dick to even consider seeing this show” can suck my fucking toe

ACT I

one of the screens in the beginning shows phil talking about the weather on mars? wot is tha abah

that beginning-of-frozen/come from away swag in ‘there will be sun’, that mountain sound. one of the reviewers pointed this out too

I saw one of the reviewers say that not one song was memorable to them after the show??? I don’t know what they were smoking, because I’ve had ‘day one’/””””small town usa”””” stuck in my head since I first saw it

the punxsutawney jingle is so disneyland-ready it’s scary

barrett never enunciates "flood" story. the first time I heard it I was like "blood story? wat"

Also re: barrett -- she fits the character so well and I LOVE her singing voice!!! I think her acting is mostly In Service Of andy, which, duh -- but I’d like her to (and I have confidence she will) make it her own/a little more individual/idiosyncratic. Just the three performances I’ve seen I think she’s growing into it/getting more comfy :3

the "with a kiss- twist!" gets a little laugh, but following it up with "/fuck/" just tickles me every time hehe

love how the point they freeze at in ‘there will be sun’ is right before the sunrise/"oh if i could i'd will these clouds away" stuff - which all happens once phil is freed, and he watches the sunrise with rita :')

I LOVE ned’s chopped and screwed jingle on the third go around. it's like five seconds but it's so good at setting the mood. I am Frankly Appalled that the jingle isn’t on the cast recording, you don’t get the full impact of ‘night will come’ then

did not see ned’s pedo stache on my first two viewings, it grrrrosses me out and is not even ghd-movie-canonical, why this

the drunk driving joke always gets a big laugh which makes me a bit uncomfy

‘nobody cares’ is so FUCKING good. I esp like "shoot some cans, crack some cans, shoot the breeze". I wish they’d perform it at the tonys but alas….

… okay an Aside for tonys performance thoughts: I’d love them to perform ‘nobody cares’ but it would kind of waste andy and I feel like they’d want him prominent. Plus the big car is run on the turntables, which they wouldn’t have on that stage, but maybe they could just block it differently. ‘hope’ would obviously be fucking incredible but I think it’s too Dark and staging-complicated for the tonys. I have a feeling we’re gonna get ‘if I had my time again’ which is fffffine but a little generic for my taste. Obviously the solution is ‘seeing you’, pls. okay moving on (ETA: they are apparently doing a medley that includes one of the Days. I am Nervous about this choice)

still don’t know how they do the bag blowing across the stage so well in ‘philanderer’! I don’t see a string or anything and it blows so realistically

also, important note: when he goes behind the door with nancy and is making ~sex noises~, he is actually in real time also thrusting/writhing up on her, I saw it with my eyes lordy lou

"me, in all my finery! and you, in your - practical attire!" makes me laugh EVERY time I just love how andy delivers it

the shining armor masturbation joke never lands and I think barrett have given up on trying to telegraph it super clearly haha

rita's constant response to phil’s sleaziness is "grow up" -- which, I understand that is what they're trying to push thematically for phil? but like grown ass men aren't doing gross ass shit every day???

“for me modesty is second only to humility" is the laugh line for me but "my humility is legend" always gets it

in ‘one day’ when rita sings “metrosexual”, phil points to himself like “me? why you gotta call me out wtf”

in the snowball fight scene, once when rita’s turned away, phil turns to the kids and mouths “FUCK OFF” with hand gestures, I screamed

love how phil’s “fictional man” hits at the same time as rita’s “actual man”, and they’re both right, and they’re both wrong

I see what they were going for with this song, but I think we can all agree that “it’s better to be leered at than not desired at all” is A Bad Take, Greg. whatever, none of the reviewers like this song either, it gives people time to get back to their seats ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ not only is the content strange, but it’s kind of boring musically/melodically too. also I think it’s fucky that they have nancy be a sympathetic character for “taking what men give her”, but shit on rita’s ‘one day’ farm girl for doing the same thing? idk, I haven’t really unpacked all my thoughts about it but it’s not keeping me up at night. they tried, they largely got there, whatevs

the shooting scene before ‘hope’ was so shocking to me when I first saw it, but ‘hope’ itself was just thrilling and exciting. music fixes everything I guess

I love ‘everything about you’, it really struck me in the sternum the first time I saw the show. I’m a BIG sucker for very simplistic imagery communicating larger ideas of love or death or whatever (see also: underwater from caroline or change, origin of love from hedwig and the angry inch)

also “you thought jesus was going to appear from the dark” in your bedroom is totally ripped from the headlines of tim minchin’s life (right? I remember a very similar anecdote from an interview of his) ETA: YES

‘if i had my time again’ is fun and fine!! for me there’s not enough blocking/telegraphing of phil ~truly falling for~ rita. you get some of it in the tilt-a-whirls but it’s pretty hard to follow visually. this song is like a slightly less effective ‘when you’re home’? “feels like you’re showing me around your hometown”, yanno.

“and I would be a lot more zen” immediately followed by “and I would punch a lot of men” same girl

also phil holds the hot dog for SO LONG in this song, I didn’t realize. like for more than half of the song he’s holding this hot dog rita handed to him near the beginning ahahaha

andy karl gets the tony award for best coat-ography, whipping that shit around his shoulders twenty times a show

ned ryerson’s ballad about death is one of my favorite songs, which is a sentence tim minchin made me type with my own two goddamn hands. and john sanders sings it sooooo well I love it. (I like him singing it live better than some of the vocal choices he made on the cast recording)

if I think too hard about what phil is actually doing?? or trying to accomplish?? during that moment it fucks me up so hard. sisyphian 4 real

matthew warchus has a talent for ending shows with lovely simple artistic vignettes (ms honey and matilda cartwheeling towards a tiny house, phil and rita with their arms around each other bathed in sunrise) :’)

OPENING NIGHT

maybe it was just me because i had too much coffee beforehand? but I think during the first half I/the audience, plus andy himself, were a little tense/stiff/high strung? not quite ~in the groove~. it is a very anxiety-inducing first half to be fair. (plus it was literally opening night, so.) some of the audience was v aware he was injured: at one point putting on his shoes he almost slipped off the bed platform and a bunch of people gasped/winced. I swear I saw him at one point (when he was stage left, not in the spotlight yet) wave off “no im fine” to someone in the wings. I took deep breaths during intermission to zen out tho, and once he nailed ‘hope’ I was like pshaw we good

he was not quiiiite limping but almost. was stiff. at "with what a dixie cup" I saw him like ~hobbling off the stage :( and he was pulling his punches somewhat with the physical comedy, but I only knew that because I saw him do it at full strength at the preview. I don't think it was obvious to first timers. he didn't go Full Loony Slapstick Panic Attack, it was more like real ass nervous and Stressed, which just made ME stressed because I didn't know if he was struggling injury wise or not

he really gave his all in the slick dancing of ‘philandering’ tho. and everyone was cheering him on, it was great

“one lonely people? c’mon...” *extends his leg with knee brace up onto a diner stool, gestures to it, massages his thigh, literally two distinct applause breaks* “aren't you even curious?”

he kept bending down as the snowball fight scene warrants and I was like BUDDY PLS

in ‘hope’ “there will be mornings you’ll be utterly defeated by your laces” got LAUGHS, I was upset. but people gave crazy cheers each time he woke up again. he just crushed it like fuckin YEAH

when the bell chimes started in for philanthropy my heart rate skyrocketed. instead of doing a silly gangly full on sprint like he did uninjured, he did like, tiny running? in the style of a powerwalker? it was still very comedic and good

‘seeing you’: he broke down/cracked a bit on “I know nothing” and paused, looked upstage, looked at barrett, looked out at the audience, and continued. READER I CRIED
