Aprender inglés en Las Palmas

Seguramente nos hemos planteado en más de una ocasión aprender inglés. Los motivos que nos pueden llevar a plantearnos este objetivo son varios: desde obtener un título que nos permita mejorar nuestro currículum de cara a procesos selectivos o sumar méritos en oposiciones del sector público, hasta el mero hecho de aprender a comunicarnos mejor con personas angloparlantes. De hecho, más allá del trabajo, saber inglés, puliendo poco a poco y de forma gradual todas sus competencias comunicativas, nos permitirá algo tan simple como irnos de vacaciones a Inglaterra, a Estados Unidos, etc., y saber desenvolvernos bien en tiendas, cafeterías y locales de toda clase, sin agobios ni la ansiedad derivada de no entender ni que nos entiendan. Por lo tanto, aprender inglés y mejorarlo siempre es una buena idea; y si se hace en una academia de inglés en Las Palmas, mejor aún.

Academias de idiomas las hay en todas partes, es decir, en cualquier provincia española. Pero Canarias se caracteriza, de hecho, por recibir anualmente cientos de visitantes que son, además, hablantes de inglés. Esto convierte el idioma, para empezar, en un recurso imprescindible a la hora de trabajar, especialmente en el sector servicios. En cuanto al ejemplo todavía más específico de acudir a clases de inglés en Las Palmas, también tiene una razón de ser: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria siempre se ha considerado una ciudad cosmopolita. Por tanto, no es de extrañar que dispongamos de una buena y variada oferta de formación en materia de idiomas y, en particular, en materia de aprendizaje de inglés. Eso sí, debemos saber filtrar y seleccionar con criterio los cursos que mejor se adapten a nuestras necesidades actuales.

Esas necesidades son tan diversas como la oferta de aprendizaje en sí misma. Por un lado, quizá nos interesen en concreto los certificados de inglés B1, es decir, el nivel intermedio básico, ya que normalmente también es el mínimo que se pide o se exige en ofertas de empleo, incluso aquellas no relacionadas directamente con el inglés. Pero también podemos, simplemente, mejorar nuestra capacidad conversacional. En definitiva, muchas opciones, y todas ellas siempre disponibles.

The hand in Anakin’s hair pauses, and Anakin’s eyes flash open to glare across their makeshift circle. If Obi-Wan stops petting him now, every trooper in the 501st is going to be running drills tomorrow til the eopies come home.

“Now, now,” Obi-Wan murmurs, resuming his slow strokes. Anakin wonders how low his shields are, if Obi-Wan is talking to him or their men. “Oh, practically non-existent, Anakin,” his master tells him with a smile in his voice. “If I weren’t so polite, I’d be able to hear your every thought as if you were screaming it at me."

Anakin thinks that if he were less drunk, this would be cause for concern. However, he is very drunk, and concern is very far away from him, and it’s not often that Obi-Wan acknowledges the bond between them, like he thinks if he says something about it, he’ll have to do something about it.

“You’re the nosiest person I know, Master,”  he mumbles, rolling his head against Obi-Wan’s thigh and looking up at him as much as possible. “Never could keep anything from you growing up.”

Obi-Wan’s smile is faint but unignorable if one is as in love with the man as Anakin is. “Dear one, I can’t be blamed for your inability to keep a secret.”

I think the vacuum of Republican leadership and inbility lead is that they have abdicated leadership to the entertainment wing of the party.
