Apparently unpopular opinion, but what I can judge from the screenshots we got today, the Capital is not just St. Petersburg, it’s more of a melange between St. Petersburg and Moscow. (Tbh, we got just one shot of the capital, so any opinion here is not really objective, but whatever)
Okay, so there is this:
Tumblr media
My first thought was “wow is that inspired by Nevsky or by Tverskaya?”. (i. e. Nevsky Prospect in St. Petersburg and Tverskaya Street in Moscow). Consensus on Twitter is that this photo stinks of Nevsky vibes, however, I would like to point out several things, e. g. there are no sunny days in St Petersburg from architecture of the two Russian capitals to game design decisions made to create an atmosphere of a certain time period.
1) Architecture
I recall some people seeing the picture above and instantly suggesting Nevsky as an inspiration behind. I would like to point out, especially to the people who’d never been to either of the cities, that Moscow and St. Petersburg partly resemble each other (dear people of St. Petersburg - I know, sacrilegious of me to compare you with greedy Muscovites, no I’m not sorry).
Moscow is not only the Seven Sisters and modern skyscrapers. Petersburg is not only 200-300 y.o. buildings. Both cities underwent major changes during 19th and 20th centuries, both cities eventually adopted a somewhat similar style, a mix of late empire (1910s) and early soviet rule (1920s-1930s). Moreover, in many cases, these are even the same buildings, with a ground level from say 1913 and other floors from e.g. 1927. I’ll do you one better, if you compare historical districts of major cities of former Russian empire (e.g. Kyiv or Minsk), you’ll see the same thing. Yes, they’re not identical, but you can clearly see this specific architectural style of 1910-1920s.
Coming back to our screenshot above, I definitely can see Nevsky Prospect influence. However, when I saw those little decorative towers, they immediately reminded me of Tverskaya. I did some digging, and hey, there is actually something similar there:
Tumblr media
Yes, not identical, but again, imo design of the Capital is done with goal to remind you of something you saw, not a copy, but close enough to understand the influence, to get the atmosphere of the city.
2) Historical aspect
Okay, from now on it’s my deluded gibberish, but hear me out. Considering the technologies presented in Pathologic (antibiotics, that massive ass artillery gun from P1 which honestly suspiciously looks like Schwerer Gustav), the game can be placed somewhere vaguely in 1920s-1930s. Taking into account what kind of language characters speak (for instance, Dankovsky speaks in a very specific manner, such Russian is more found in literature, than in actual spoken language. The same applies for most of the Utopians), lack of soviet-specific abbreviations and vocabulary, we can say that apparently October Revolution never happened. To be honest, Daniil wouldn’t survive the Revolution or early Soviet rule (read about repressions against intellectuals or the infamous Philosopher’s steamer)
You can argue: “but hey, isn’t Pathologic just a theatre play where such details don’t matter?”. Yes and no. Because it’s a theatre play, many otherwise important details are omitted. However, developers drop hints here and there, to set the tone and visually convey what kind of country and society they’re talking about. No offence to non-russian-speaking fans, but I’m still convinced that IPL still considers russian-speaking countries their primary audience. This leads to certain design choices, including architecture of the Capital.
In my opinion, IPL had to mix visuals of Moscow and St. Petersburg in order to convey a certain vibe. You see, since it’s somewhat suggested that revolution didn’t happen, developers have to utilise aesthetics of 1910s culture to show that we are talking about “Russia” from works of Gorky, Chekhov, and Bunin. At the same time, IPL have to add elements of early soviet culture, so the game world doesn’t look like weird 1910s with antibiotics and far too much advanced technologies.
How’s that connected to the Capital? Russian capital in late empire was St. Petersburg. In later years - Moscow. Moreover, if we are talking about Dankovsky as a character, his design (among other things) is heavily influenced by works of Bulgakov. But in Russian mindset Bulgakov is tightly associated with 1920s Moscow, you just can’t escape it. So, consequently, IPL decide not to sacrifice one for another, and just mix the two capitals, stylistically, in order to create the desired impression on the player.
We’ll see if all that is at least partially true from P3. Hopefully, even from the upcoming demo.

"personal projects" = losing in court, i hope.
obviously it would be better if IPL acknowledged the allegations against him, but people don't seem to be recognizing how that might open them up to legal threats. either for "defamation", or a retaliatory attempt to sue them for control of the IP. obviously i've seen other studios do better at acknowledging allegations against their employees, but dybowski already demonstrated his willingness to make legal threats against someone who accused him in 2021/2022. obviously IPL is a company and not a person, so they should be a bit more resourced, but by every account they only just have enough funding to make this one game, so it would be the sort of thing that could shut the studio down.
which, actually, i wonder if that's why the process took so long? from what IPL has put out, they were able to proceed with the bachelor route due to an unknown investor coming onboard to fund it. dybowsky was a big name in the russian gaming industry (he got that college position off of the first game's acclaim, before losing it for using the position to be a predator) and every recent account of his abusiveness has highlighted how persuasive he's able to be. as well as how he coasts off others' work to frame himself as the auteur genius behind it all, despite being minimally involved for most of the studio's work post-the void and more of a drunken sex pest nuisance in the studio than anything else. but i wouldn't be surprised if he played a role in getting the investor for P3, or if part of the delay in their response was the studio needing to convince their funding source that the game would still be a financial success without him. businesses will be businesses, in the end.
though, i wasn't even hopeful enough to expect this would happen, and it took 3 months! so i wouldn't rule out them making a statement with more clarity in the future, either after the legal proceedings against him have been concluded or after the game is out. especially if their audience keeps encouraging them to do so. i'm not just going to immediately flip a switch from "unhappy with the situation and not supporting them" to "pathologic 3's biggest fan". i think everyone should at least keep an eye on the situation and change their support accordingly if more comes out to implicate the studio and they don't resolve the situation. as well as continuing to support the statements made by the victims of his who have come out publicly, and doing what we can to support them in whichever way they ask. but, yeah. seeing an abuser get booted from his company was good news to wake up to for sure, at least in my book.

Rereading...
“Think of your Pokémon. That Lopunny there, Umbreon, all the rest. You went through hell with them. They're not just your pets. They're your family…Imagine next year,” Domino said, “the rules change. Your Pokémon are shit now. New Pokémon are good. Pokémon you don't have. Say goodbye to your family, go get a new one. See what I mean? The heart. The heart can't keep up.”
Lachlan Nguyen, during an uncommon loser's interview only minutes after his final Pokémon fell, faced all watching and tearfully announced his retirement from competitive battling at the age of twenty-five. He went on to explain his intention to become a gym leader in his native Giday region and train the next generation of Gidayers so that one might one day hoist the Champion's Cup. The crowd gave him a standing ovation with more enthusiasm than they gave the frankly boring match that preceded. Then Lachlan Nguyen vanished from all human memory.
We think the IPL has determined the course of battling history, but in reality, it's only existed for 64 years. After another century, will my region win? Or will the world end before it?
Aracely Sosa, burning bright, arms extended outward, eyes shut serenely. She ceased looking at him, at anything. Yet he felt her gaze burning into his forehead. Burning into his skull. He felt her eyeballs inside his brain. She's reading my mind! “Shut up,” he said to himself. His words broadcast to all. “Shut up.”
Science, officially stumped, tossed up its hands. Toril had her own theory. Shedinja was a shard of Nincada's soul. The part of it that was weak and afraid, motionless underground as it prayed no predator would detect it, sifting antennae through the soil for microscopic bits of sustenance. In that state it dreamed of the Ninjask it would become, its ideal self, but while other Pokémon could simply achieve their dreams with effort, Nincada was always too miserable and empty and alone, so alone in that dark hole. Bottom of the food chain, interaction with any other living creature meant death, interaction was loathsome, yet some part longed to interact, longed to reach out and touch, for why else did its antennae ceaselessly sift?
When Aracely was seventeen, the age Toril was now, she fell out of the world.
It's nonsense. It had to be nonsense. It was rebellion against a world grown too sensible, where too much unknown was stamped out. To them, it was only possible to create their own story by ignoring the story of the world entirely. That's what made them a cult; the willed divorce from reality.
You began to believe their narrative. The narrative keeping this world at a standstill. The narrative of endless repetition, annual cycles of pointless entertainment, winners crowned, winners to replace history.
Most first-time tournament challengers learned in regionals to blot out the crowd. Toril a few years back created her own method, to imagine the crowd as wind atop a mountain. That wind was the loudest thing on the planet, yet somehow the brain learned to filter it to nothing, to the point it became possible to sleep, to the point that on the rare occasions it suddenly stopped, the silence sounded louder.
In that parallel line of history, humanity lost the race. And all 8 billion of us were dead. I have seen many other lines now. I am a seer of all. And what I see is: This world will end on October 12.
...When I Win the World Ends.

Alright, time to build the language.
Let's play around with word order after figuring some other stuff out first, although I'm leaning towards OSV right now. Let's just remind ourselves the system we're working with
Subject Object Verb Link
The Creator stood upon the mountain and overlooked a frozen land. This is how it was in the beginning.
I'll be going with Active-Stative alignment, so S¹=A and S²=P, perhaps going with agentive-default fluid-S, so this would mean that S¹=A will be unmarked, as it is assumed the default position, where S²=P will be marked, as it is a change to the default. Nouns will have a Agentive and Patientive form as a result, with the Patientive Sole being marked like the Patient. But languages aren't strict rule followers, they have exceptions. I could imagine there being exceptions to the rule, such as a Locative being marked in both Agentive and Patientive cases, depending on which one is being x'd on. Speaking of cases, I think I'll go with Genitive (GEN - attributive relationship between two nouns), Dative (DAT - marks the recipient of an action), Locative (LOC - indicates location in relation to another noun), and Instrumental (INS - something being used by another noun) cases. For the locative case, the specifics of in, on, under, &c. is inferred but helper words could be used.
Tumblr media
And here's the rule for adpositions:
Prepositional - Demonstrative, numeral, adjectives, comes after the noun, possessive, genitive, and relative come before the noun
Quantity > Opinion > Size > Age > Shape > Color > Origin > Material > Purpose > Noun seems perfectly fine to me, I guess I could change some just to change some. Could order them by objectivity I suppose. I could go objective to subjective
Quantity > Material > Size > Shape > Origin > Age > Color > Purpose > Opinion > Noun
Or the reverse
Opinion > Purpose > Color > Age > Origin > Shape > Size > Material > Quantity > Noun
The noun should come at the end due to the language being prepositional. So I'll go with subjective to objective for this, keeping the objective closer to the noun just makes sense to me.
Number is something I didn't really go over, that's my bad. English only has 2 numbers: singular and plural. But I'll do more than just the two. Singular (SNG) "one dog", definite plural (DPL) "multiple dogs", indefinite plural (IPL) "many dogs". The definite plural is for a defined or implied set amount, such as "dogs in the city" or "two dogs". The indefinite plural is for an undefined amount, there's just "dogs" out there and we're not talking about some specific amount.
Tumblr media
I will also go with a tri-gender system of Masculine, Feminine, and Inanimate. There is a neuter as well, but it would be based on syntax. So this means I would need to determine what triggers gender agreement. The most common is vowel-based triggers. I think I'll go with /i/ and /ɪ/ for the feminine neuter and /a/ and /o/ for the masculine neuter. The masculine and feminine are together the "animate" gender for this language, but this doesn't mean only animals will get it, as animacy has been applied to what is inanimate, such as rivers, mountains, the sun and moon, &c. Pronouns would come from this, so He/It (it¹), She/It (it²), and It⁰ are the pronouns that come directly from this gender system but some others will be used as well. There will be both an inclusiveᶦ and exclusiveᵉ to various pronouns. Clusivity is simply marking whether includes or excludes something. English doesn't have this, if you say "we" one would have to infer by context clues if you're including them or if it's you vs them. So, we have I/me, youᶦ referring to a group, youᵉ referring to an individual, weᶦ including you, weᵉ excluding you, and they. It⁰ would be divided between 3 definites: d¹, d², and d³. These are the this, that, those, and these of the language. There's also the relative and indefinite pronouns which I would say distinguishes directness rⁿ for the relative which refers back to something "to whom it may concern, that which we knew what was to come" and r⁰ for the indefinite which is more general "to each his own"
Tumblr media
Another thing I forgot to mention in my last post: articles. Articles are the "the"s and "a(n)"s. English has 3 articles, 2 marked. Definite, indefinite, and zero. Definite is like "the book", whereas indefinite is "a book", and zero is simply "books" as it's only used for plurals and mass nouns. I'll go with animate definite "the¹ man", inanimate definite "the² book", and zero which will be for anything not definite "the² book" vs "⁰ book".
Tumblr media
Now for verbs... imma be pretty basic with tense: past (PST), an unmarked present (PRS), and future (FUT). Then I have to think of the aspects that I want to convey. I think unmarked would be perfect (PER - it has happened and still has relevance to the now). There will also be a perfective (PFV - it has happened at some point in relation to the now), continuous (CON - it is ongoing in the now), discontinuous (DIS - it happened but might not be now), prospective (PRO - it is beginning to happen), and I couldn't find one for this so I'm creating the name suspensive (SUS - it is about to stop happening). The discontinuous could only be applied to the past. At least, I can't conceptualize it being used in a present or future tense.
Tumblr media
Word order is still there to figure out, though... so the general rule across the majority of languages is Object-Verb bonding. That means that the Object and Verb are most likely to be next to each other. So SOV, SVO, VOS, and OVS. So would Proto-Mochians hold to this? Most likely. But part of what should be figured out is where exactly their Euro-Asiatic ancestors came from and then we can look at how their languages developed. One idea for the first peoples of the Americas would be through ancient Siberian populations. So what are the Siberian languages like? Itelmen is SOV, Chukchi is free but SOV is standard, Alyutor is also free with SVO and VSO being common, Nivkhe languages are SOV, Ket is SOV. It seems that among Siberian languages, there's a tendency towards SOV, but this also may be a result of contact with other languages, such as the Turkic, Slavic, and Mongol languages. What of languages in the region in our timeline? The Salish languages are by and large verb-initial with the most common word order being VSO. Alyutor has VSO also being common, so perhaps the Alyutors (sadly going extinct with less than 500 people and less than 10% of that actually speaking the language) and the Salish might have a common linguistic ancestor? Highly unlikely, bordering on the absurd, though interesting to think about such a possibility. So we could take the other approach to the Salish for that dichotomy of the two worlds, but I think a fusion of them might be better. So what do we get with SOV+VSO? We could use both, and indeed this proto-language will be free word order, but for the purposes of where we'll end up, let's go with VOS as the commonly used word order and give that a shot. Can always change it later as a part of the language's evolution.
Next step after putting all of this together is to take the phonemes and these rules and put them together to finally (for real this time) translate.

Analyzing the Evolution of ODI Cricket
1. The Early Years (1970s–1980s): The Birth of a New Format
ODIs began as a shorter alternative to Test cricket. Matches were played in white clothing with red balls during the day. Teams scored modestly, focusing on conserving wickets rather than aggressive run-making.
Key Features:
60-over matches initially (later shortened to 50).
Average scores around 200.
Defensive batting approach.
2. Colored Clothing and Day-Night Matches (1980s–1990s)
The 1980s and '90s introduced colored jerseys, floodlights, and white balls, revolutionizing how ODIs were watched and played. Day-night matches brought in massive crowds and television viewership.
Highlights:
Power hitting started to take shape.
Fielding standards began improving.
Australia and Sri Lanka redefined aggressive play.
3. Rise of Aggressive Batting (2000s)
With the introduction of players like Adam Gilchrist, Virender Sehwag, and Chris Gayle, ODI cricket witnessed a surge in aggressive top-order batting. Run rates increased, and totals of 300+ became common.
Tactical Innovations:
Pinch-hitters in powerplays.
Use of part-time bowlers to break partnerships.
Emphasis on strike rotation.
4. T20 Influence and Rule Changes (2010s)
As T20 cricket gained popularity, its fast-paced, high-scoring nature spilled over into the ODI format. To keep ODIs attractive, ICC introduced new fielding restrictions, powerplays, and two new balls (one from each end).
Key Changes:
Five fielders allowed outside the 30-yard circle only in the last 10 overs.
Two bouncers allowed per over.
Increased use of technology for DRS and analytics.
5. Data-Driven and Strategic ODIs (2020s Onward)
Modern ODI cricket is driven by data, matchups, and analytics. Teams build line-ups based on opposition weaknesses, pitch reports, and game scenarios. Bowlers have evolved with new variations to counter aggressive batsmen.
Trends Today:
Batting depth till No. 9 or 10.
Spinners playing key roles in middle overs.
Aggressive finishers closing innings with strike rates over 150.
6. ODI Cricket’s Role in a T20-Dominated Era
Despite the rapid rise of T20 leagues like the IPL, ODI cricket remains vital due to its balance between strategy and entertainment. It demands adaptability, endurance, and tactical brilliance—making it a true test of a team’s depth.

IPL Players with the Most Sixes – Power Hitters Who Ruled the League
The Indian Premier League (IPL) is known for its glitz, glamour, and breathtaking cricket—but nothing captures the spirit of the league quite like a soaring six. Over the years, fans have seen some incredible displays of power-hitting that have left stadiums stunned and bowlers shaking their heads. While many players have cleared the boundary on occasion, only a select few have turned six-hitting into a habit. These are the men who made sixes their signature, lighting up the league with their sheer muscle and fearless intent. Let’s dive into the most prolific six-hitters in IPL history—players who ruled the league with power.
Tumblr media
1. Chris Gayle – The King of Sixes
No surprises here. Chris Gayle, also known as the "Universe Boss," stands head and shoulders above the rest when it comes to hitting sixes. Watching Gayle in full flow has been one of the most thrilling sights in IPL history. With a towering frame and brute strength, he made even mishits sail over the ropes.
Gayle doesn’t just hold the record for most sixes in the IPL; he owns it. His 175* off 66 balls in 2013 remains the most destructive innings ever played in T20 cricket, featuring a mind-boggling 17 sixes in a single match. Gayle wasn’t just a batsman—he was an event.
2. AB de Villiers – The 360-Degree Showman
AB de Villiers was not just about power—he brought innovation, timing, and creativity to six-hitting. Whether it was scooping fast bowlers over fine leg or launching spinners into the top tier, AB made it look ridiculously easy. He combined elegance with explosiveness in a way few could.
For Royal Challengers Bangalore, AB was a match-winner in the truest sense. His ability to clear boundaries at will, especially under pressure, made him one of the most feared finishers in the game. His sixes weren’t just big—they were often match-defining.
3. Rohit Sharma – The Hitman
Rohit Sharma, true to his nickname "Hitman," has quietly built a reputation as one of the most reliable six-hitters in the IPL. He doesn’t always go for brute force—his sixes are more about timing and pure class. The ball seems to just float over the boundary when it comes off his bat.
With years of consistent performance for the Mumbai Indians, Rohit has piled up sixes across all types of pitches and against all kinds of bowlers. His calm approach and ability to accelerate make him a dangerous proposition in the middle overs and death.

4. MS Dhoni – The Finisher Supreme
If there’s one sound IPL fans will never forget, it’s the thunderous crack of MS Dhoni launching a ball into the stands. Whether it’s a helicopter shot or a clean straight drive, Dhoni’s sixes are always loud, dramatic, and often in clutch moments.
Dhoni has made a career out of finishing games with towering hits. His strength lies in picking the right ball and sending it miles into the crowd. For Chennai Super Kings fans, Dhoni’s sixes are not just about runs—they’re about belief.
5. Kieron Pollard – The West Indian Wallop
Kieron Pollard brought raw Caribbean power to the Mumbai Indians’ middle order. Built like a tank, Pollard could change the game in a matter of a few balls. He didn’t need to middle it—his sheer power was enough to clear the rope.
Pollard’s ability to hit back-to-back sixes, especially under pressure, made him one of the most feared death-over batsmen. If he stayed at the crease for even a couple of overs, the scoreboard would explode.
These power hitters redefined what’s possible in a T20 game. Their sixes weren’t just runs—they were statements. In a format that thrives on entertainment, these players gave fans the most electrifying kind of thrill: the sweet, soaring, game-changing six.

Tum Se Tum Tak Replacing Bhagya Lakshmi on June 15th 2025
Tumblr media
Tum Se Tum Tak Replacing Bhagya Lakshmi on June 15th 2025. Bhagya Lakshmi to Bid Adieu: A Heartfelt Goodbye to Zee TV’s Beloved Saga. When a story that once ruled hearts begins to dim, it’s not just a show ending — it’s the end of an era. The curtains are finally coming down on Zee TV’s cherished daily soap, Bhagya Lakshmi — a show that didn’t just entertain, but lived in the hearts of viewers for nearly four glorious years. First aired on August 3, 2021, this romantic drama brought together two unlikely souls — Rishi and Lakshmi — in a tale that was as tumultuous as it was tender. With Rohit Suchanti and Aishwarya Khare breathing life into these characters, ‘RishMi’ soon became a household name. Now, with over 1,300 episodes in its bag and a legacy of heartbreaks, hope, betrayal, and redemption, Bhagya Lakshmi is set to air its final episode on June 15, 2025. Yes, the final chapter of this long-running love story is near. The Rise, the Reign & the Ripple Effect Bhagya Lakshmi began with promise — a simple girl from a small town, a city-bred businessman, and a destiny that refused to let them part. From the moment Rishi and Lakshmi were thrown into each other’s lives, fans were hooked. Their journey had everything — misunderstandings, heartbreak, protective love, dramatic separations, emotional reunions, and of course, villainous obstacles at every turn. For years, the show rode high on TRP charts, giving stiff competition to its slot rivals. It managed to hold fort even as television witnessed constant shifts in trends and tastes. Its ability to reinvent itself with consistent plot twists kept its charm intact for quite some time. But as the saying goes — even the brightest stars eventually fade. Why Is Bhagya Lakshmi Going Off-Air? The beginning of the end started when Zee TV altered its programming schedule, shifting Bhagya Lakshmi to a different time slot. What followed was a visible dip in ratings — the kind that couldn’t be ignored. Loyal fans still stayed on, but the numbers just weren’t enough. At first, makers tried to salvage the situation with talks of a generation leap — one last attempt to breathe new life into the story. But when even that couldn’t spark enough buzz, the decision was made: it was time to bring the story to a graceful close. And in the midst of a massive strategic revamp, Zee TV is not just changing its logo and look, but its entire content bouquet. The channel is bidding farewell to underperforming shows — even the long-loved ones — and preparing the stage for a new era. The New Show Taking Over the Time Slot Stepping into the shoes of Bhagya Lakshmi is the much-anticipated ‘Tum Se Tum Tak’, a Studio LSD production starring Sharad Kelkar and Niharika Chouksey. This show is already creating ripples, especially since it marks Sharad’s return to television after eight long years. A tale of an unconventional romance between a 46-year-old businessman and a 19-year-old woman, Tum Se Tum Tak promises a fresh perspective and is expected to premiere later this June, once the IPL madness settles. Saying Goodbye to RishMi As the countdown begins, the air is heavy with nostalgia. Bhagya Lakshmi wasn’t just a TV show; it was an emotion for many. It gave us moments that made us laugh, cry, scream at our screens, and most importantly — believe in the bittersweet beauty of destiny. Though the ending might feel sudden, especially after fans had prepared themselves for a leap, there’s something poetic about Rishi and Lakshmi leaving together — just like they started. Together. In love. Amid chaos. Forever. To the makers, the cast, the fans who never missed an episode, and to Bhagya Lakshmi itself — thank you for the memories. The show may be ending, but its place in the hearts of viewers will linger on like the faint scent of an old letter — unforgettable and bittersweet. Read the full article

A New Era of Cricketing Brilliance and Strategic Evolution
Introduction The Indian Premier League (IPL) has never been merely a cricketing event — it's a festival of sport, entertainment, and innovation. With each season, the league exceeds expectations, unveiling new formats, tactics, and talent that enthrall millions worldwide. IPL 2025 has elevated that thrill to the next level. From overhauled teams to standout performances, and technology calling the shots in the game, this season has been an exciting ride for players and spectators alike.
Overhauled Teams and Auctions Among the key discussions before IPL 2025 was the mini-auction, where there were some big-ticket trades and the introduction of some new faces to the league. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) again proved to be aggressive in their moves, while newer teams such as the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) further asserted their emerging dominance.
Few unexpected retainments and expensive acquisitions fueled controversies. Hardik Pandya's return to Mumbai Indians and GT's release of Kane Williamson were a well-thought decision that reflected the way franchises think ahead of loyalty and are looking at long-term effects.
Rising Stars and Player Highlights IPL 2025 has indeed emerged as a platform for Indian newbies to make a mark on the world stage. A few uncapped performers have created match-winning performances and gained eyeballs.
Mayank Yadav, the Lucknowian pacer known for his fire, has repeatedly hit speeds of more than 150 km/h and is being hailed as India's next pace phenomenon.
Sameer Rizvi and Tilak Varma have provided depth to their respective batting order, demonstrating maturity beyond their years.
Among foreign stars, Tristan Stubbs, Harry Brook, and Gerald Coetzee have turned out to be valuable assets, combining international quality with IPL intensity.
Players such as Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, and David Warner continue to be an inspiration, with Kohli even scoring another century in a pressure-filled chase.
Tactical Innovation and Technology In the 2025 season, teams used sophisticated data analytics, AI-driven performance monitoring, and intelligent wearables for monitoring player fitness. Strategic timeouts were utilized to better effect, and the Impact Player Rule, first brought in through IPL 2023, is now at the heart of match tactics.
Teams have wised up in how they go about run chases and defending totals. Powerplay plans, death bowling options, and field placements are now being dictated by data and not gut instinct.
The Fan Experience: Bigger and Better IPL 2025 has also changed the fan experience. From fantasy leagues built into live broadcasts to 360-degree stadium cameras to bring the stadium experience into homes, technology has increased engagement. Indian stadiums have witnessed housefull crowds, with the return of the full capacity crowd and high-energy fan parks.
Trends on social media, behind-the-scenes highlights, and augmented reality (AR) aspects have never before brought fans closer to the action or to their idol players.
League Table and Playoff Suspense With the league phase going on, the race for playoff places was closer than ever. Old warhorses like MI and CSK faced stiff competition from Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), who played consistent cricket this season.
The final league games saw thrilling thrillers and hair-raising finishes, with several teams being level on points and net run-rate proving to be the determining factor for qualification. That unpredictability is precisely what makes the IPL so engrossing.
The Road Ahead: Final Showdowns and Legacy With the playoffs and grand finale looming, everyone is now looking towards which team will keep their cool and raise the trophy. Will there be a new winner, or will history teams reclaim their glory?
In any event, IPL 2025 is already a defining season — one that has looked forward to the future while respecting its glorious past. The ideal balance of youth and experience, planning and unplanning, tradition and change has turned it into one to cherish.
Conclusion IPL 2025 has not only delivered top-notch cricket but has also redefined the way the game is played, viewed, and celebrated. It is a testament to the league’s adaptability and enduring appeal. Whether you’re a die-hard cricket fan or a casual viewer, this season has offered something for everyone — stunning sixes, fierce rivalries, breakthrough players, and edge-of-the-seat finishes.
As the tournament approaches its end, one thing is certain — the IPL remains the benchmark for T20 cricket, and 2025 has only bestowed another glorious chapter on its legacy.

The Glorious Chaos of the Unpredictable Season
Another IPL season has come and gone, and if there is one adjective that best describes the ride we witnessed, it is "unpredictable." Ditch your pre-season favourites, your fantasy league teams, and your meticulously planned approaches – the Indian Premier League, especially in its 2025 incarnation, has again demonstrated that it sways to its own thrilling, crazy beat.
We saw it all, didn't we? The high-octane chases, the last-ball thrillers that left us gasping, the individual brilliance that defied expectations, and the controversies that kept the social media engines roaring. And, of course, the crowning of a new champion, after years of fervent longing.
Let's talk about the final, shall we? Royal Challengers Bengaluru finally, finally, lifted that coveted trophy. For 18 years, "Ee Saala Cup Namde" was more a plea in desperation than a slogan. But in IPL 2025, RCB finally broke the jinx, beating a remarkably resilient Punjab Kings in a nail-biting final that went to the wire. It was a nail-biter, proof that in the IPL, nothing is ever really settled until the very last ball. Krunal Pandya's tight spell in the final was a great example of an unsung hero rising when it counted the most, and how each and every contribution, however silent, can tip the balance.
And talking of Punjab Kings, who would have predicted them to reach the final at the beginning of the season? With Shreyas Iyer at the helm, a freed captain of his previous team, PBKS reversed the script, demonstrating that raw talent and leadership can overcome everything. Their team, full of uncapped players champing at the bit to prove themselves, was the underdog team that the IPL loves to revel in. Recall Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old wonder who became the youngest ever to have scored an IPL century? Or Priyansh Arya, who dismantled CSK with his first-century? These are not numbers; these are tales of dream achieved, of emerging stars flourishing under the intense spotlight of the world's largest T20 league. It's these surprise bursts of genius from dark horses such as Naman Dhir, Ayush Badoni, Nehal Wadhera, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi, working quietly in the background to make huge differences while larger stars took centre stage, that really make the IPL so unpredictable.
The season also saw its share of upsets, even before the first ball had been bowled. The mega auction saw franchises scrambling, having to let go of proven performers like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, and Mitchell Starc, who subsequently found new franchises and, in a few instances, new captains. The retention policy, which permitted a combination of capped and uncapped players, ensured that each franchise had to make some hard choices, providing another layer of interest. We witnessed legends such as MS Dhoni held by CSK under the uncapped bracket – a remarkable twist of fate, a reminder that even the most iconic players can have their statuses altered by the game's rules.
Aside from the scores and the positions, IPL 2025 delivered its customary plate of talking points and controversies. Harbhajan Singh's observation, the gossip about the Eden Gardens surface, and even the absurd rumor of ball-tampering by Khaleel Ahmed – these are the side dishes of the IPL experience that add richness to it. And who can ever forget the "notebook celebration" of Digvesh Rathi and the fines that came with it? While others questioned its propriety, it served as a reminder that even in the cutthroat environment of professional cricket, personal displays of exuberance, even objectionable ones, help put a pinch of human frailty into the game to make it more accessible.
The rule innovations, also, contributed their share towards this offbeat textile. The relaxation of the saliva ban, the facility to replace the wet ball owing to dew, the increased scope of the DRS for no-balls and wides – these were subtle but important changes that could, and very often did, alter the balance of a match. Picture the bowler managing to achieve that all-important reverse swing through the help of saliva, or the captain strategically changing the ball to counteract the dew; all these little changes had knock-on effects, and the game was even more fluid and unpredictable as a result.
This isn't about runs and wickets; it's about stories. It's about Mumbai Indians performing their usual "slow start, strong finish" trick, and hair-pulling fans before tearing through to the playoffs. It's about squads that seemed impenetrable suddenly hitting the wall, and squads written off discovering a new gear.
IPL 2025 season was a colorfully throbbing reminder that in cricket, and particularly in the shortest and most thrilling version of the game, there is no constant except for change. Each match was a new beginning, each over a chance for a hero or a villain to be born, and every choice, on or off the field, was made with the weight of anticipation and the possibility of a seismic shift. And really, isn't that the reason we love it so much? Because in the glorious mess of IPL unpredictability, there is always a new tale to be written.

KKR raises eyebrows over IPL’s mid-season rule change on match timings
