Re: Krennic, I don't think he's respected or revered - not because he lacks merit, but because that's not the culture of the Empire. People are obstacles, competitors, threats, and pawns. Your supervisor is someone to impress, distract, and eventually usurp. Krennic is a player in the game - someone to know, and perhaps envy, for his success and potential as an adversary.

You are right there, anon! Perhaps "respect" and "revere" weren't the right words to use.

I think what I was trying to say is: is Krennic someone the rest of the ISB take seriously? Is he someone the lower ranks want to emulate when they dream of taking his power one day? Does he have a reputation for being an intimidating figure in the organisation?

I find it funny to think of Krennic being this foreboding figure at the top of the ISB, but outside of it everyone thinks he's a loser lol.

I've finished season 2 of The Bear and wow, this show. Alongside Andor, it's the best show I've watched recently. It's sublime.

Thinking about both of them got me imagining Partagaz putting up this clock and sign in the ISB meeting room:

The exhortation to dedicate yourself to The Empire, work hard, and not waste time is clear. Its other message also resonates with him. For what's the point in bringing peace and safety to the galaxy if you can't enjoy your time in it on a micro level? This message is lost on most of the Supervisors. Partagaz expects this.

What he doesn’t expect is that every time Lonni feels like abandoning the ISB and running away to a distant planet, looking at this sign strengthens his resolve to continue his double life just a little longer. Just a few hours longer.
