#Idk who I was considering as the phantom thieves tho; but heres some palaces

I got recommended a whole bunch of Persona 5 fan palace themes so I haven’t been able to stop thinking about Hypmic characters having palaces, so I thought I’d make a short list of who I think could/would have one.

Ichiro, I feel like his palace could be created at two points in his life, around the time his brothers still hated him, or when his brothers started to idolize him. He definitely is a good person at heart so I can’t see it growing from any malice intentions but rather just an inflated ego. I could see his palace being all of Ikebukuro but a distorted vision of it being his own stage, with his name and face plastered everywhere as their hero, everyone walks around cheering for him, waving glow sticks. There is no palace per say but rather intertwining streets turned into stages that lead to his home. His brothers would too fall victim to his distortion, turning them into loyal yes-men, his hype men, following him where ever he goes, reminding everyone that they should be lucky just to be in his presence.

Saburo, his palace would likely start to manifest around the time Rei came to reveal himself as their father. During this time he’d have to take a step back, Ichiro had lied to him, both of them about their father. Jiro could live, but I don’t think Saburo could, he doesn’t have much outside of Ichiro. Ichiro and Jiro are their own people, but Saburo is young and he hasn’t figured that part out for himself just yet, so I think he’d push everyone away, maybe be a lot more malicious with his hacking so he can force a name for himself. His palace would be a distorted illusion of his room, the place he feels most comfortable and safe. It would take on a futuristic, almost cheesy hacking style with a mix of more classic imagery such like pianos, organs, and sheet music. With intelligence being Saburos only saving grace it’s built like a puzzle, reliant on tons of trivia. Safe rooms would be Ichiro and Jiros own rooms. His treasure would be his mic, in a backroom filled with Ichiro and Buster Bros merchandise. Once his palace is defeated his treasure turns into a copy of Ichiro’s TDD era belt loop cord. 

Samatoki, I’ll be real I have no idea

Jyuto, once with humble beginnings Jyuto slowly started to compile blackmail and got involved involved with higher powers with his control over the police and even the yakuza. It would slowly get to his head before he eventually considered all of Yokohama under his own jurisdiction. A cop turned into a godlike judge that people offered everything they had to appease him from staining their name with whatever dirt he had found on them. His police station would turn into a temple with his likeness imprinted on tapestries and stained glass, a dictator of his own beliefs that his ideology is beyond the law. His treasure is hidden away in the temple’s evidence room as a huge binder of names and blackmail that turns into his badge upon returning to the real world.

Ramuda, an obvious choice I have no ideas for

Jakurai, again I can see two points where Jakurai could develop a palace, during his time as an assassin and his split with TDD. I’m pretty sure both would be drastically different, so Im mainly focusing on the idea of one based after TDD break up. Jakurai loves to involve himself with interesting people, which was his original reason for getting involved with Ramuda, however, we can also look at this from terrible angle, one where Jakurai drops people once they stop being interesting. After losing the people he considered friends, he took on more interesting patients, but he would contentiously drop them the moment he’d lose interest. His palace would distort his hospital into a showcase room, where his patients are shown off like dolls, trying their best to keep his interest out of fear of him throwing them away. At the end it leads to a giant stage and throne where he watches his patients in action and at his side are the distorted versions of Hifumi and Doppo, his current favorite subjects. They act as beyond over exaggerations of their typical personalities, Hifumi being literally two faced with him and Gigolo and Doppo cowering, constantly on edge. His palace would require a lot of outside interaction to get it to open up, maybe the time limit being until he loses interest in whoever they set as the dummy.

Hifumi, but specifically, Gigolo. A moment where he’s able to take over Hifumi almost entirely, jacket or not. His ego inflates quickly and he abandons Matenrou, specifically Doppo, so he can delve his entire life into his job and the Shinjuku night life. His club unsurprisingly changes into his own chateau, rooms filled with champagne towers and near blinding chandeliers. The women who loiter around the halls are also it’s defenders. His treasure is hidden in the master bedroom, a bottle of his very own champagne brand and transforms into his jacket outside of his palace.

Rei, I don’t care enough about Rei, most likely an open market where he’s free to scam as many people as he pleases.

Investigation Team as Phantom Thieves AU

Been giving it some serious thought on how it would actually work because a straight swap jkdfasjkl honestly uh lmao

They’re not super rebellious. So I thought.... Maybe more of a blend of the games instead of a straight swap? Like just some stuff I’ve thought of while daydreaming-

obviously some backstories would probably need to be shuffled a bit probably? just bc.... hhhh.... persona reasons-

thinking instead of a resolve to rebel a resolve to see and seek the truth? bc jkfasdljka they’re taking their truthseeker themes WITh them into new AU land bc i don’t see how else this could work 

Which made me think in the persona awakening instead of a mask appearing, glasses (like the TV glasses) could appear but uhhh honestly ripping them off doesn’t make sense to me because they’re a lens to pierce through lies and falsehoods (the fog)

AND INSTEAD OF MASK BLOODINESS IT’S JUST THEIR EYES BLEEDING (they’re fine dw if the thieves can be okay after ripping off half their face, the team can be fine after their eyes start bleeding) 

Something something about lies being purged from their eyeballs 

Probably the resolve to see the truth is tied to either backstory, their canon shadow issues, or both!

like for yu/souji specifically it’d probably be idk him being in denial that his parents kinda suck lmao i have no idea how that would translate to an in-palace awakening- 

i’m honestly kind of torn on what to do with adachi, personality-wise it would make the most sense to give him an akechi-like role but at the same time it just seems so..... dry...... to me..... maybe bc akechi was kind of like adachi (at least supposed to be i think) as in he was supposed to not seem to be a threat Until He Was so i’m actually tempted??? to make adachi the first palace the team tackle??? 

honestly we’re kind of fusing the persona 5 and persona 4 plots together here a little probably- 

Also corrupt police detective seems like a good first step for the team to me, kind of similar to Kamoshida bc uh lmao adachi was.... not on the same level as shido.....

Probably more focused on chasing the perp behind the mental shutdowns rather than just getting adults

Is Teddie still a shadow?? Probably ??? I don’t know how this works but I love Teddie too much help

RIP Margaret in this AU. I kind of figure her splits have a calm, mysterious slightly playful twin and then a easily irritated duty-bound one not too too different from Justine and Caroline but y’know more Margaret-y.... Also ngl bc Margaret looks older than Lavenza, Margaret’s twin splits probably also look older- 

lmao Yu/Souji’s velvet room is a prison van maybe.... Take the limo and the prison and merge it into one- 

IMAGINE just keeping some persona 5 cast for Plot Reasons like Shido and Akechi

Detective Prince vs Detective Prince

Instead of a second coming of the detective prince it’s just the media fighting over who deserves the title more, the latest in the Shirogane detectives or this New Guy Who Has a Very Nice Smile And He’s Pretty and Actually Doing Interviews- 

I actually uh don’t entirely know what to do with everyone’s backstories, other than everyone is in Tokyo for Plot Reasons

idk it’s easy enough for yu/souji, he just came back to tokyo

yosuke never left tokyo 

naoto and rise are easy enough to place in tokyo too

teddie is just.... from the metaverse so yeah

Not too hard for Chie too ig her parents just moved to the city and she’s probably not jazzed about it

Yukiko and Kanji tho.... Their families are well-established in Inaba hhhhhhh

They probably just summon their personas with Willpower(tm) in the metaverse, no taking off the glasses necessary bc again it.... doesn’t make sense to take them off.........................

oK SO WAKABA AS THE PERSON WORKING FOR SHIDO, this is really badly written for my entertainment btw so dont take my joke dialouge too seriously

Ok so I am still hammering this out and feel free to add your own pinion on how this can be better bc tbh i only played the game once when it first came out so my memory is foggy. Lets start form the beegining: wakaba is doing some cognitive pscience shit and making great progress, shes learning more about the cognitive world than she ever imagined shed be able to without the ability to enter it.

This research reaches shido in some way or another and hey that sounds exploitable lets talk pscience. Wakabas doing her thing and shidos just chillin, watching from the side lines in case anything good comes of that.

Some good comes of that, shes got some clues on things like personas, other worlds, random bull thats been going down with persona shit all this time. Shes making SERIOUS progress and shido wants in on this shit, he wants more progress, he want the persona user.

She has none for him, hes not having that shit

he does some digging into the background of people related to the research. some way or another he gets what he needs on forcing a persona onto a person who would other wise not have any, he insists wakaba try it. she could learn so much more if she could just enter the cognitive world and with her research she can do SO MUCH with a persona.

shes not buying that bull, shes got a daughter to worry about that she would rather not endanger by forcing a inner self demon creature into her fucking soul. Masayoshit shidont does not like this, hes an angry egg head. "ill break that 2+2 not knowing ass childs leg if you dont do it u fuckin assmunch. i m an ass hole LISTEN TO ME" and wakaba knowing damn well that technically he has the power to do that... tries to talk him out of that. THERES no need to go this far. hes going this far though so shes got a choice to make.

She starts reading up on how to give a person a persona. Its awful, its balls its the pits and theres no way shes forcing that on anyone. not a chance in hell. But shes got to do something for futabas sake. Shes gonna use herself as the subject for this.

but theres one thing that hits her, the persona will aboslutely try to kill you out of no where regardless of where you are, cognitive world or not. not good, shes gotta give up a lot to make this work and that kind of includes futaba. she tries to make masayoshi change his mind and he suggests making someone else do it. She says no, thats torture. hes...he dont care, if she doesnt futaba is fucking dead.

wakaba tries to reason with him "if i do thins i cant be near futaba!" she says and he say "FUCK YOU AND YOU R DAMN DAUGHTER IM GONNA GO BUST HER KNEE CAPS YOU FUCKIN SHRUB." wAKABA INSISTS ON HIM NOT. He wont if she just does what he says. so she does. shes got that persona in her some way or another and boy is it suffering, its been trying to kill her all week. futaba is safe tho, shes still trying to be a good mom but things are looking grim, she tells sojiro if she dies suddenly then well, shits weird.

so yeah shes got a persona and shes doing everything he would have made goro do except her persona wants to kill her every 20 minutes like damn. chill. Shes got the suppressant pills yeah but even still this is suffering.

so yeah now her death. She was supposedly killed in front of futaba at one point. this sitll happens, except its not a mental shutdown that "kills" her, she gets attacked by her persona and falls into an open sewer hole or whatever you call those thing sand yEAH SOMETIMES THEYRE JUST LEFT OPEN IN PLACES IVE SEEN IT WITH MY OWN EYES YALL ITS NOT A STRETCH, but if it is feel free to punch me. and she falls into the water below, except she does not, she moves into the cognitive world and fights that bitch of a persona with more pills. Shido, has plans tho as he sees of what happened and decides, lmao yeah no lets just let you stay dead. and has people waiting for her where she entered the cognitive world to grab her before she can go home and bring her to him. He tells her she could have died and that hes sure shes no longer going to be able to take care of futaba in this state, that she should probably just stay dead since they reports on what happened say she fell and just vanished.

She...agrees??? i mean shes almost died like 12 times in the span of a week and shits getting bad. shes a danger to futaba. if she stays with him hes got his hands on the pills she needs and shes never too far away from the one giving her her missions so she can not only do what he says but finish her research however reluctantly considering the horrible things he has her doing.

now skipping on to when the phantom thieves become a thing. Shes,,,,doing the things that goro would have done. except since this has to do with my au theres not pretty detective prince on tv to antagonize the group, other than that everything goes the same,

wakaba does what shes doing and does not even know futaba is a phantom theif until shidos palace.

but before we get to that, saes palace.

the group does saes palace and it goes off without a hitch. alls chill. they live. im still not sure what to do with this part because everyone thought akira was dead because of the after math of this so tbh if yall got any ideas here...shoot so yeah shidos palace, they get there, get through every one, and get to where they would be going against goro but no its wakaba, futaba is shook, wakaba is shook, the whole squad is shook. 

wakaba is a little heart broken, shes fighting so hard to protect futaba and shes putting herself in harms way. She tells futaba to just stop all this and ust stay safe, she would take her place in the p thieves so long as it mean she was safe. futaba does not agree to this

wakaba is not pleased, she makes an offer "ok, well, im pretty strong so all of you fight me and prove that i can trust you to protect yourselves against the nightmare that is shadow shido so i dont have to worry about futaba being hurt," they kick her ass, she has never been more happy, she tells futaba shes happy to have been beaten and shes willing to go help them fight shido except HAHA FUCK YOU SHES NOT!

shes weak from the battle and her persona ssees it as the perfect time to strike her dead in one fucking hit dead. futaba is mortified.

wakaba is fucking pissed and with her dying breath shes just futa baby i love you please destroy that ass hole that tore us apart. ded.

rest of the game proceeds as normal, idk its late and i got no sleep and this is not written well at all bye,
