143. In the Clear Moonlit Dusk, Vol. 4 - licensed - The ML and FL have been provisionally dating, as one does, and sort of fumble a bit at deciding what they want to do going forward. I really enjoy Yamamori's art. The characters are distinct and emotive.

Yakuza Reincarnation #1 by Takeshi Natsuhara and Hiroki Miyashita. Yakuza guy with old school honor gets transported back into the body of a princess. Fun so far but my library does not have it. If I want to keep reading I will have to purchase.

Romance:

Ocean's Echo by Everina Maxwell: sci-fi romance involving politics and mind melds and space travel. Fun, but like the slowest of slow burns. I don't even think they kiss until like 75% through, and no sexy times on the page

Diamond Ring by K.D.Casey: as long as she keeps writing I will keep reading. Another baseball romance.

And a horror novella, Lucretia and the Croons by Victor LaValle. creepy in the best way as LaValle always is. Just got his newest, Lone Women, from the library so i hope to get to it this week.

some of those $1 volumes have been on my wishlist since before I started buying digital manga, back when my “wishlist” was a series of phone photos of the covers of ones that looked interesting while methodically looking through the entire manga section at the barnes and noble. and yes, some of them are super generic-sounding shojo titles, but I like shojo! and it’s a dollar! who cares! some of them will be boring, but some of them will be great! and I won’t have to sit and wonder “aw man but what if that one turned out to be a good one?” because I’ll’ve read it and I can just decide whether or not I want more from there.
