The Current Tag Set
Please see above for a link to this year’s tagset, to see tags already included in the exchange. While nomination is open you may nominate up to ten fandoms. For each fandom, you can nominate up to twenty characters or relationships. Nominations will be collected through a google form, linked in the discord. To increase matching oppurtunities, tags need to be nominated twice before they will be added to the tag set.
Fandom: Please use the phrasing that is already present in the tag set when possible. If a fandom has not yet made it to the tag set, please use the phrasing present on Ao3. If a fandom has not been canonized, use your best discretion.
Disambiguation: Please diambutate your tags (include the fandom in paraenthases within the tag), for example, Bruce Wayne/Clark Kent (DC Comics). In cases where characters are submitted without diambiguation (the fandom included), we will assume you mean the character specific to the fandom tag you submitted it under and correct it. For example Tommyinnit submitted under Origins SMP will enter the tagset as Solo: Tommyinnit (Origins SMP).
Characters: Please nominate a character in the format Solo: Name (Fandom), instead of using the tag with pipes as present in Ao3 tagging. This simplifies the sorting process, and allows us to distingish between characters who occur in multiple fandoms. Example: Solo: Roy Mustang (FMA:Brotherhood), and Solo: Technoblade (SMPEarth). In cases where names are pipped, use the most commonly used name. For example, the canonical tag Marinette Dupain-Cheng | Ladybug submitted for Miraculous Ladybug would be entered as Solo: Marinette Dupain-Cheng (Miraculous Ladybug). Do not use diacritics/accent marks in the nomination, as that over-complicates the sorting.
When a solo character tag is used in the matching process, the expectation is that your gifter will make you a gift focusing on and or centring that character. However, they can also bring in any other characters from canon to accompany your requested character, as characters rarely live in a void. If you do not want your solo character to be written with specific other characters, or you do not want them to be written in romantic relationships, you must specify such in your DNW.
Relationships: Please nominate relationships in the format Name A/Name B (Fandom), with characters listed in alphabetical order by first name and disambiguated, instead of using the canon tag. Example: Layla El-Faouly/Marc Spector (MCU), or GoodTimesWithScar & Grian (Hermitcraft SMP). Use & for platonic or familial relationships, and / for romantic or intimate relationships. Please list names in alphabetical order by first name (this is not how Ao3 does the tags, but we will be sorting using Excel's sort methods, which does not distinguish for last name).
In cases where names are pipped, use the character’s most commonly used name, omitting diacritics/accent marks. For example, the canonical tag Lán Zhàn | Lán Wàngjī/Wèi Yīng | Wèi Wúxiàn submitted for 魔道祖师 - 墨香铜臭 | Módào Zǔshī - Mòxiāng Tóngxiù, would be entered as Lan Wangji/Wei Wuxian (MDZS).
We will accept unspecified, original, or group nominations, with the understanding that the freedom to interpret your prompt broadly lies with your creator. If you request a group, your gifter can include any member of that group, whether you requested a group with a defined list of members such as The Avengers (MCU) or a more open group such as Obi Wan Kenobi/Any Female Jedi (SW). You can request original characters that fit with the world, as long as your request can reasonably be understood by your requestor. Use the format Ranboo & Original Underman Character (Origins SMP).
