We've finally got reveals for the new Terminal World set in the OCG! The set's reprinting four themes from the Duel Terminal saga and we've got new cards for two of those themes!
Ice Barriers have a crazy new Synchro that can bring out any Ice Barrier from pretty much anywhere (Extra Deck included) on a twice-per-turn once-per-chain Quick Effect.
Infernoids have two new Extra Deck monsters, one of which has some very strong mill potential for the Deck to turbo your 'noids into the GY.
This graphic is making some guesses since we know a bunch of reprints that were announced, but not the actual set codes for those reprints (as far as I know). For the time being I'm simply color-coding the space after the new cards since new cards tend to lead distinct sections and I figure the old cards would be right after them.
We've got two more themes to see support for, and if I had to wager I'd say Qliphorts are a strong option. After that? Most likely one of the WIND archetypes like Gusto or Ritual Beasts.

new tcg exclusive sounds nice, but Fiendsmith is still likely going to be a problem that wholly overshadows it

yugioh archetypes the five eccentrics would play
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
— A/N: i got this idea while playing duel links and decided this would be my first post. i hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
❥ rei sakuma: — VAMPIRE DECK — maybe even fallen of albaz or infernoid — koga told him about yugioh and showed him vampire voivode — vampire voivode instantly became his favourite — slowly but surely he was able to build a vampire deck — has tried getting ritsu to play a quick duel with him but he refused instantly — so now during their spare time, undead sometimes plays yugioh
❥ shu itsuki: — i don't see shu being interested in yugioh — but i can see him liking doll monster or fluffal — likes fusion monsters — he's mentioned to mika before that the fluffal archetype reminded him of him — back to doll monster though — i think shu would like doll monsters since it would remind him of mademoiselle
❥ wataru hibiki: — abyss actor or performapal — he doesn't know too much about yugioh but he definitely loves the abyss actor archetype — he likes pendulum summoning and refuses to try other mechanics — wataru's favourites are superstar, curtain raiser, and mellow madonna — i think he would collect the cards instead of playing the game
❥ kanata shinkai: — marincess or shark deck — water monsters are his favourite — doesn't fully get the concept on the game but likes playing for fun and even likes collecting the cards — kanata was introduced to yugioh by shinobu and tetora — the two have been trying to get everyone in ryuseitai to play the card game — they convinced kanata to play when they showed him marincess and sharks — sometimes he plays yugioh with them for fun
❥ natsume sakasaki: — natsume loves games so i can see him playing yugioh — he would definitely play an archetype that supports spellcasters since he is a magician after all — he would play dark magician, dark magician girl, and the magician girls with some spellbook cards to help support his spellcaster monsters — natsume is one to experiment with each archetype and come up with a strategy to ensure he doesn't lose — i can see him playing mirror force, drowning mirror force, or some type of trap that prevents an attack — "why do you have 3 cards face down? i feel like those are traps" — "attACK me to SEE" — has a smug grin when someone goes for it and he reveals his trap card(s) — he would also play destiny board for an extra challenge

https://ygorganization.com/23tp-tournament-pack-2023-vol-1-round-3/
Anyway, we got Yamata Dragon, Aratama, Infinitrack River Stormer, and Satellarknight Skybridge reprints for OCG Tournamen Pack 2023 Vol. 1.
Most important thing here is Yamata Dragon, since it apparently hasn’t been reprinted in the OCG since 2011. It is also the Level 7 monster with the highest DEF and FIRE monster with the second highest DEF after Infernoid Tierra, so that might be relevant.
Since Aratama and Yamata Dragon will be reprinted this means we are getting new Spirit support soonish, but it might also be because of Yata-Garusu getting de-restricted in OCG. We already got a Spirit monsters before in Series 11, so I’m guessing this will be a new Spell or Trap.

YGOMD 4-14-24
Starting today at Silver II.
1. I assume this one was a Blue-Eyes deck. All they really got to do was Set a Hex-Sealed Fusion and pass, they scooped once Lovely popped it. [Win]
2. Noble Knights vs Labrynth. They got the Link Charles out and he took out the Big Welcome but that was the first time I got to use Arias' revival effect, bringing her back to Synchro with Arianna into Chaos Angel, banishing the Charles. The field was open after that and one pop into their next turn and they scooped. [Win]
3. This one seemed to just be another masochist deck. They had Infernoid, Armed Dragon, and Cyber Angel stuff all mashed together. It didn't do much. [Win]
4. Branded Runick vs Labrynth. This was a really slow grindy game but the endless conga line of Bystials wore me out. It ultimately ended up with me decking out. [Loss]
5. Chimera vs Labrynth. Ate me alive with a Super Poly early on and they handtrapped me to hell and back, and eventually it seemed like they ran out of actual material to Fusion Summon with and had to just sit on an untargetable Guardian Chimera, which thankfully Lovely still gets to pop. Once I got rid of it they scooped, which is great, because this one also ran long. [Win]
The Chimera game was my rank-up game into Gold, so I won't have to muddle through Bronze next season. It also got me to Level 50 on the Duel Pass, so now I've got the new Snake-Eyes cosmetics!

The two tier zero formats i’ve been playing yugioh through just so happen to resonate with me super well. Whether they were good or not i loved the playstyle and aesthetics of tearlaments.
As for snake eye, well you see, my pet deck is infernoids, my favorite card is void imagination. You understand.

Such a satisfying duel. Managed to take 15 turns without taking a single bit of damage against that infernoid loaner deck.
They had 300 LP left and surrendered when I brought out my sperm whale.
They kept trying to destroy my dolphin which I can keep bringing back as long as I have monsters to banish but I also had a spell that would have let me bring it back anyway especially after they wasted a monster effect blocking my stardust warrior from coming back
I also got lucky and pulled my last wall of disruption which ruined their fancy fusion monster
