So I'm watching the Eclipse with my mom and it has me wondering if this event would have a effect on Inuyasha and possibly his transformation. It'd be interesting to see what would happen.

It is hilarious (and adorable) on how chill Kagome's family is with this random dog-eared teenager from 500 years ago just barging into their house to nag their daughter.😂

Okay so I'm sure other people have brought this up, but you know how Kagome have square shaped bangs in the early manga?

Right! And everybody was like, 'woah, is that Kikyo!?'

Then we actually SEE Kikyo.

Very clear, square bangs.

But after a few chapters, Kagome's bangs become triangle.

People usually chalk this up to Rumiko having an inconsistent art style, and yes that could be a factor, my theory is more in story.

So after being compared to Kikyo all her time in the Feudal Era, and then actually meeting her, I think Kagome just decided to change her hair to stop the comments. Because even she acknowledges she doesn't look THAT much like her.

Compare and contrast, you know?

The anime doesn't have this change so when you first watch it, it's like "whaaat, she looks nothing like Kikyo" so that's why reading the manga is so spectacular!

My friend reminded me Inuyasha probably is actually biracial because "western land" likely refers to China. His dad was Chinese. I never thought about it despite making the Tiangou and Fire Rat Robe legend connection... *bad at geography*

When the twins casually reveal that Moroha was the one who informed them of their heritage, inquiries are thrown in her direction on how she came to know Sesshomaru before either the girls did.

Moroha successfully dodges them until Sesshomaru himself reveals that their first encounter involved her biting his arm.

Kagome is horrified that her daughter would blatantly challenge a great demon but Inuyasha is in hysterics when he discovers that the arm she bit was his left one.

Season 2 Ep 15/ Ep 42

There's a moment where Inuyasha is laying down after the fight with Kagura, in the shot after Naraku spawns there, we see that he is still holding the transformed Tessaiga. Which would be a continuity error by animators, or, it indicates he is in a similar state to the one he was in after his fight agaisnt Sesshomaru (the one where Sesshomaru briefly teamed up with Naraku). Since he woke up relatively quickly at hearing Kikyo's name, we can assume that he is in such state.

Kilala is the main MVP of the team. She works so hard. Such a good kitty(?).

Kagome being able to shoot an arrow that acts like a shield is def a new use. Her abilities are definetly increasing. Since we don't see her training, ever, maybe her abilities works like an immune system. The more dangers she faces, the better her powers get at recognizing and reacting to them. As well as Kagome developing a better instinct towards what to do in all the new situations thrown at her.

Why is Kagome's soul so big? Why are her arrows made out of souls? Is this why her charged arrows have an aim? They have a soul to guide them?

Wow, Inuyasha's upper clothing is ripped to shreds. How are they gonna fix that?

OMG Inuyasha actually got a fever? Damn this must have been a tough battle (and Kikyo's continual betrayal). The physical and mental toll must have really affected his health. Also, poor guy, can't they at least give him clean clothes not covered in blood?

I watched Inuyasha the first time in spanish, where all the songs got translated. Relistening to the songs in Japanese is such a feeling of Deja vu. Like I know what the next words are, but can't quite remember without the song's lyric clues.

Was watching Inuyasha with my little sister (she's rewatching the entire series now that she's finished rewatching MLP:FIM) and I was reminded how comfy Kiyoko's pants look

So I'm watching the episode where InuYasha turns into a full demon for the 1st time and it got me thinking.

For all the times Inuyasha turned full demon he never ONCE went after Kagome. That is unless there's an outside malevolent influence or force trying to control Inu in his demon form, but even then Inuyasha fights against that outside influence while still in his demon form.

But when it's just InuYasha himself in his demon form without any outside evil to influence him, he's never attacked Kagome, or even the rest of his friends for that matter. Sure, Demon InuYasha's been weary of Kagome and the gang (especially during the 1st transformation) but he's never actually turned his claws against them and tried to attack them. And I have a theory that maybe its because Inu's demon recognizes Kagome and the others as people who are special to him. He doesn't fully recognize them, per se, but his instincts know on some base level that he cares about these people, ESPECIALLY Kagome.

Perhaps Demon InuYasha understands that these people are apart of his pack, and that Kagome in particular is someone who he cares a great deal for. *cough*his intended mate*cough*

Anyway, it was just something I noticed while rewatching this episode. Correct me though if I'm wrong.

This all makes sense...except for Modoriko, whose soul has to be in 3 places at once. The jewel, her corpse, and in Kagome. Maybe she also has a gigantic soul like Kagome does. Or maybe hers is fragmented for some reason. 🤔

Fanon Theory - Souls in InuYasha

AKA @inukag-4ever thinks that Midoriko, Kikyou, and Kagome all contain the same soul and are trapped in a karmic cycle and this is my evidence based essay thing on this. 

soooooooo I’ve been seeing a theory floating around that Kagome isn’t Kikyou’s reincarnation. As much as I love fan theories, I just HAD to say something about reincarnation and the nature of souls in InuYasha, & add my 2 cents about how souls are viewed in InuYasha. I’m not going to be arguing that Kagome is Kikyou’s reincarnation - that’s something that’s confirmed without a doubt (just read chapter 47 + 48 in the manga). But is Midoriko the original soul of these two women? That’s unconfirmed.

And for those of you who don’t know (so, like, everyone) I was actually a World Religions major with a specialty in Japanese Buddhism and Shintoism. So I have some background on this topic! 

I will be arguing that not only is Kagome the reincarnation of Kikyou, but Kikyou is also the reincarnation of Midoriko. Here are my points:

In honor of Women's History month, I just want to remind people that some of the most influential and popular manga in the anime community are written/illustrated by women. And I'm not just talking about groundbreaking shojo like Sailor Moon, Fruits Basket, Card Captor Sakura, or Black Butler (or things like Chihayafuru, Migi to Dali, Sakamoto Desu ga?, Nana, Natsume Yuujincho, Revolutionary Girl Utena, Violet Evergarden, A Silent Voice, and a million more). To be clear, those series are also amazing, and I'm not demeaning them in any way. They deserve just as much respect as everything else.

But right now I'm talking about shōnen series or series that are usually marketed towards men specifically or have appeared in shōnen magazines. I mean things like:

Beastars, made by Paru Itagaki (fun fact: she's the daughter of Keisuke Itagaki, the author of Baki! I guess it runs in the family 😆)

Gangsta, by Kohske

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic by Shinobu Ohtaka (which I promise isn't what my screen name is a reference to, even though I love this show).

Mushishi, made by Yuki Urushibara (aka Soyogo Shima).

Noragami which is written by two women, collectively named Adachitoka, similarly to romance author duo Christina Lauren.

Blue Exorcist by Kazue Kato

Inuyasha (and Ranma 1/2 and Urasai Yatsura) by Rumiko Takahashi, which I know for a fact served as a gateway anime for a shit ton of people across generations (but especially for people my age).

I have to shout out Posuka Demizu, who illustrated The Promised Neverland, which is my favorite manga series. She may have given the characters weird looking facial proportions, but damn if she ain't one of the most detail oriented (and sneakiest) artists out there.

And finally, a little story you may know called Fullmetal Alchemist, written by Hiromu Arakawa (who also wrote Silver Spoon, the most recent manga version of The Heroic Legend of Arslan and lots of other stuff but I wanted to highlight those two specifically).

There's also been speculation that a little unknown manga called...what was it again?...Oh yeah, DEMON SLAYER is written by a woman (I don't care if the Hashira Training arc is terrible, there is still a lot I love about the writing and characters and fight scenes). But Koyoharu Gotouge's gender hasn't been confirmed so it's still just a theory.

The reason I am so drawn to Sylus in the beginning was his design, I have a thing for white haired characters (kakashi, satori, inuyasha etc) I do love xav for very similar reasons too XD but now it’s mostly because sylus and Mc are truly going from enemies to lovers and I am obsessed! Most likely, he got injured by another demon as a child (after Izayoi died) and discovered it by getting the blood on his claws. I kinda imagine a surge of power coursing through him with the blood on his claws and he just was like

what did inuyasha have to go through in order to discover the blades of blood. like that isn't an ability you just know how to use.
