Hello Everyone, it’s me again!!!🥰
Today i want to talk about AR (augmented reality) and a task me and my friend, Derya Geçirgen, just had finished . Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology that blends the real world with virtual elements like sounds and digital images, allowing interaction between the two.
Now, let’s move on to our task . Basically,we created an augmented teaching material about Berlin. We included two landmarks, a museum, and another famous feature of the city. We used a QR code to share a 3D model of the Brandenburg Gate and added questions to the worksheet. For the Natural History Museum, we also provided a 3D model for students to explore and answer questions. Since we couldn’t find a 3D model of the Berlin Cathedral, we used a YouTube video instead.
Berlin is well-known for its street foods; therefore, we included a QR code on the worksheet which contains a video of two tourists trying different street foods. Students were asked to watch the video and answer related questions. Finally, we had them write a letter to a close friend about these places, incorporating what they learned from the activities.
Since our students are in a high school preparatory class and their level is A2, we chose videos and questions that are suitable for their level. The most challenging part of the task was finding 3D images of landmarks and a museum for any city. As a result, we kept changing cities and searching for videos and 3D images of landmarks and museums. Once we found our city and the landmarks , the assignment started to seem like very fun. My group partner and I worked together to prepare the worksheet using Canva. Finally, we created an ASSURE lesson plan for our material.
We used the food-related video on YouTube, the 3D museum image on Google Arts and Culture, and the 3D image of the Brandenburg Gate on the CyArk website. I think integrating augmented reality materials into English lessons, makes the topics more interesting for students. I also believe that experiencing a different kind of reality will strengthen the knowledge. So, as a future English teacher, I will definitely integrate AR based materials into my lessons .
Here you can see our material
Here you can see our lesson plan
Take care💕💕💕

Project Development 1: (Journey through the digital media)
After Completing the weekly projects, I chose the second week project for the further development. First, I was planned to make a motion graphics video to present the different stages of our media timeline. When I presented my idea Ian gave feedback that I have to add more to engage or do something different for the making the audience to interact with that.
I have already created the scenes and the sketch for the video. I began to think what should I do and finally I decided to make some VR or AR artefact to my project. In my tutorial session Xinge also gave more possible Idea to create more engaging to audience.
So, I borrowed a VR headset from our university loan store. But the attempt was failed because my laptop doesn’t support the VR headset. Then I changed my plan to do AR artefact.
youtube
After scanning the QR code, it will redirect to the app Aero Viewer, and we can see the output as shown below.
While comparing my weekly project I created different scenes to develop the idea as a motion graphics video.
I created a rough sketch for the scenes.
Then I sketched each scene in ‘Sketchbook’ App.
I was impressed by the art works who was created by Arosh Thevadathil, Known as Doodle Muni. Which I have already mentioned in my weekly project blog. His art work have unique style of drawing and that way of approach was so influenced me to make scenes.
While I went to London, I saw the Butterfly trail in Tottenham court road. That artefact impressed me and influenced a lot to create my own work model.
I used After effects for adding some motions to the scene.

I used Adobe Premiere Pro for joining these clips and added some background music for that.
For the AR part I used Adobe Aero to create the AR elements. I downloaded some 3d models and created a scene. I added Newspaper, Radio, Old TV, Computer, Mobile Phone and VR headset into scene and arranged in an order.
This Project took almost 2 to 3 weeks to complete. I spent more time to resolve the issue with VR headset and but after finding the reason that my laptop doesn’t support the VR headset I chose the AR for immersive experience for the audience.
The other challenges I faced was the software Adobe aero was not stable in Windows and android phones. Maybe it is because of the developing stage of the software. But I managed to take output in my friends iPhone and it was perfect Output.
I am happy to say that I have learnt new skills like AR and some basics in After Effects. While I am focusing my career as Graphic designer-cum-motion graphic artist these skills will be more helpful to me as I can do some advanced level communication to the audience by applying some immersive experience to them.

DMA Final project 1 - Making it Real
Blog 5 - Reflection
Mentality
I have learnt the mentality of never give up and keep trying different ways to reach the goal. At the first time receiving my first print, I found the QR code isn't working in SLS (powder printing) and I was about to give up. However, I really want the model can work completely, then I came up an idea that I can replace the QR code on the top with SLA (higher resolution printing), which ends up working.
3D Printing
I have spent so much time on 3D printing in this project, because of different materials' constrains requiring me to seperate different components using different materials. I have learn the attribution and risk of using different materials, like SLA printing has higher resolution but coming up with so many stretches; SLS has lower resolution and may not able to print delicate items but won't come up with any stretches. Also, some basic knowledges of 3D printing like preventing very thin and delicate elements that may be not working in printer.
3D modelling
I have improved my skills on 3D modelling by using Maya, like doing scaling in a faster way, snapping faces in different angles and sculpting my bridge rocks etc.
Gesamtkunstwerk
This project demonstrates the idea of Gesamtkunstwerk - the total work of art. This porject include several of art aspects - 3D modelling, interactive design, product design, architecture and immersive design, and they are all done by myself.
3D model concept
This model is about the combination of ancient civilization and modernization. The pyramid representing ancient civilization and mystery; the QR code shows some modern concept like interactive experience. In order to make them more harmonized, I added two modern style of stairs, bridging these two elements together.
Dynamic content
Since the model is linking to a website the can be updated by time, this shows the dynamci aspect of digital media, that contents can keep being updated.

The new ImageShare

ImageShare is my lightweight web app for uploading and sharing images, originally created as a replacement for the Nintendo 3DS Image Share service. It has gone through a lot of code updates and migrations over the last few years to keep it compatible with aging web browsers, and now I've rolled out another update.
The new features
ImageShare still allows you to choose an image from your device, click Upload, and get a QR code linking to the image that you can easily scan with another nearby device. It's still entirely server-side PHP, so it loads quickly, even on low-end and legacy web browsers that can no longer connect to image upload services directly.
The app previously used Imgur for all image uploads, but that API isn't always reliable, so ImageShare now fully supports ImgBB as an alternative platform. You can select which service to use from the main upload page. For security reasons, images uploaded anonymously through ImgBB are deleted after two minutes, which should be long enough to save the image after scanning the QR code.

There's also a new option to use ImgBB with your own account, instead of uploading anonymously, by entering an API key in the ImageShare settings. This allows images to be saved permanently to your ImgBB account (unless you delete them later), and the images are always accessible through the ImgBB site on another web browser.
I've wanted to add authenticated image uploads for a long time, so the functionality could be closer to uploading screenshots on an Xbox or PlayStation console, but it wasn't easily doable with Imgur. Just like before, images uploaded from a Nintendo 3DS console have the game title saved with the image when it's available.

The downside is that the new API key feature doesn't work on the Nintendo 3DS Browser (and possibly the Wii U Browser, I haven't checked). As far as I can tell, Nintendo blocks any kind of permanent storage in that browser, even the simple cookies used to store the API key.
ImageShare also now has improved support for other legacy web browsers: it fully works in Netscape Navigator 6 from 2001, and possibly earlier versions. It also now has a proper icon when pinned to the Start menu on Windows 10 Mobile, and there are some more fixes for older iOS devices.

I've taken it as a challenge to support as many old web browsers and devices as possible, at least as long as it remains practical. ImageShare also now uses the goQR.me API to generate QR code images, because the deprecated Google API previously in use has stopped working entirely.
Self-hosted ImageShare
I've also done a lot of work to make ImageShare as easy to set up on a home server or production site as possible. The dev instructions are now more detailed, and more features that were previously hard-wired in the code are now optional when setting up an ImageShare instance. It's still a Docker Compose application, so it works on Windows, Mac, and Linux hosts.
The server configuration for ImageShare supports an Imgur API key, an ImgBB API key, or both. If you set up both options, the user can choose which option they want (the ImgBB option with a custom key is always available). For example, only the ImgBB option is enabled on the main server right now (I think Imgur blocked the server's IP for too many requests, so I'm giving it a break). Plausible Analytics is also now easily configurable, with reporting for page views, basic device and browser information, upload events, and so on.
I'm not aware of any other ImageShare instances, but now is as good a time as any to set one up!
The open future
ImageShare has required a lot of work to stay functional on the Nintendo 3DS and other legacy platforms. I've gone through three hosting services: first Heroku, then DigitalOcean's App Platform, then an Ubuntu VPS through Digital Ocean. After that last migration, I reworked it to run in Docker, which has made development and troubleshooting much simpler. That has all ensured ImageShare remains functional on legacy browsers through non-secure HTTP connections, while also supporting newer devices with HTTPS.
I'm not sure how long image hosting platforms will continue working with the current infrastructure, and I do not want to deal with hosting user content. There's also the issue where the main supported device, the Nintendo 3DS, can't save settings on the browser side. I'm thinking about how best to handle the project's future with those problems.
ImageShare might eventually morph into a minimal web server that runs on a computer on your home network, which would be less vulnerable to rate limiting by APIs (or could just dump images directly to a computer). Another option would be improving the self-hosted setup and publishing ImageShare to Docker Hub, where it could be installed on any computer or server with Docker in one command. This is already a popular option for NextCloud, Plex, and other local server software, so it would probably work well for ImageShare.
I don't have any plans to shut down the current ImageShare site, unless all the image hosting APIs stop working and I don't have any options left. ImageShare has already outlived the Nintendo service it was initially designed to replace, and I'd like to keep that going.
You can learn more about ImageShare from the GitHub repository, and you can try it out from theimageshare.com. If you want to help keep this service running, please consider joining my Patreon or donating through PayPal and Cash App.

Thank you so much! Our resources are a bit limited (so we aren't able to give out dedicated audio devices, as much as we'd like to), but we're trying to expand our accessibility as much as we can. So, for the basic setup:
This is a small living history farm. There's always at least one historic interpreter on hand, to answer questions.
For the audio tour itself, we're going to have sheets of QR codes, labeled in Braille and in English. If this works well, we'll also record a Spanish version. Each QR code, when scanned, will open up a YouTube video for the relevant building or animal, with an audio description over some B-roll footage.
We considered having the QR codes on posts by each area, but realized there wasn't really any way for someone to tell where the QR codes were unless you could already see them.
As an example script:
"In this pen, we have our chickens. There are approximately 30 chickens in this pen, including the soft gold Buff Orpingtons, the White Leghorns with their red waddles, the black and white striped Barred Rocks, and both Gold and Silver Wyandots, with lacy black outlines highlighting each feather. The rooster is distinguished by his large red comb and long tailfeathers. The chickens may be crowded along the fence, hoping for food, or they may be bathing in the dust, in shallow holes in the ground. We also have two Narraganset Turkeys. These are larger than the chickens, with black and white striped feathers, and bald, bluish-red heads."
We don't have a Braille printer on-site, but we do have access to one through the local community college. We also are working with some of their 3D-printing students to print a 3D map.
Are there any things here that seem impractical, or just not useful? Any levels of detail we should make sure we're including?
I just thought you'd like to know: your commentary on accessibility in Kaibaland in The Power of Friendship actually influenced how we're handling our low-vision audio tour at the local historic site where I work.
FUCK YEAH!!!!! I'm genuinely moved, but you should also definitely consult some people who have actual visual impairments because they will be able to tell you way more stuff and way more accurately.
@jonphaedrus I hope you don't mind me tagging you in this, but you are someone who's advice i'd trust.

Beyond Contact Information: Creative Uses of Business Cards for Marketing
In the dynamic world of business, where first impressions matter, the humble business card has evolved beyond a mere exchange of contact information. Beyond its traditional role, savvy marketers are turning these small pieces of paper into powerful marketing tools. In this blog post, we'll explore the creative uses of business cards that go beyond the basics, helping businesses leave a lasting impression and stand out in a crowded marketplace.
**1. Integrating QR Codes for Instant Engagement:
In the era of smartphones, leveraging QR codes on business cards opens up a world of possibilities. Direct potential clients or partners to your website, portfolio, or a specific promotional offer with a simple scan. This approach not only enhances engagement but also provides measurable insights into the effectiveness of your marketing strategy.
**2. Showcasing Portfolio Highlights:
For creative professionals, a business card is an opportunity to showcase a snapshot of their portfolio. Incorporate visuals or a QR code linking to an online portfolio to give recipients a glimpse of your work. This approach is particularly effective for photographers, designers, and artists looking to make a visual impact.
**3. Interactive Elements for a Memorable Touch:
Consider adding interactive elements to your business cards to make them memorable. This could include a fold-out section, embossing, or even a pop-up feature. Such tactile experiences not only capture attention but also create a lasting impression that goes beyond the initial exchange.
**4. Running Limited-Time Promotions:
Transform your business card into a limited-time promotional tool. Include a discount code or a special offer on the card, encouraging recipients to take action. This not only provides an incentive for potential clients but also tracks the success of your business card campaign.
**5. Utilizing Augmented Reality (AR):
Embrace the cutting-edge technology of augmented reality to elevate your business cards. By incorporating AR elements, such as interactive videos or 3D models, you can captivate your audience and showcase your products or services in a way that traditional cards cannot.
**6. Dual-Purpose Cards as Functional Tools:
Consider turning your business card into a dual-purpose tool that serves a functional need. For example, a business card that doubles as a bookmark, a ruler, or a notepad can become a handy item that recipients keep and use regularly, ensuring your brand stays top of mind.
Conclusion:
Business cards have transcended their conventional role as a simple contact information carrier. By infusing creativity and strategic thinking into their design, businesses can transform these cards into powerful marketing assets. Whether through interactive features, promotional incentives, or emerging technologies, the creative uses of business cards provide endless opportunities to make a lasting impression in the minds of potential clients and partners. As you revisit your business card strategy, consider how you can leverage these innovative approaches to stand out in a competitive business landscape.

Module 3
3.1 Blogs, Wikis, Social Media, and Forums

Social media has changed the way humans interact and communicate across the world. Instead of waiting for long awaited letters, or even making a phone call, social media has given the ability to interact with another person instantly. There are many different forms of social media from content communities, blogs, forums, podcasts, social networks, and wikis. Even with the major differences of each of these forms all have the same common features, connecting humans, and dispersing information instantly.
Understanding how social media works, and the different platforms that are available are important in both professional and personal spaces. Companies can use social media to promote their products, and spread information about the company. In personal lives, especially those with children, it is important to understand the reach that social media has in young impressionable lives.
3.2 QR Codes, NFC, and SnapTags

QR codes, NFC, and SnapTags are become more common post Covid-19 pandemic. QR codes and SnapTags are both two-dimensional barcodes. QR codes have the ability to be scanned by most smartphones, and will open the relevant website. A SnapTag is similar to a QR code but has additional features including interactive information, content, and engagement without the need for a current phone model or special app. NFC works only in close proximity and the chips are small and cheap and do not require their own power source, and function using magnetic induction.
Understanding how each of these items can be used is important from a business standpoint. I can use this information to make decisions on if I were to use a QR code, SnapTag, or NFC, and which one would be most fitting for the project I am working on.
3.3 The Essential Eight
The essential eight technologies are: Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Blockchain, Drones, Internet of Things, Robotics, Virtual Reality, and 3D printing. Together each of these technologies work together to achieve six convergence themes: Automating trust, Extended reality, Immersive interfaces, Working autonomy, Digital reflection, and Hyperconnected networks.
To understand these eight essential technologies is to understand the future of the technology industry. These technologies are going to become useful in creating new technology that will assist in a more productive society. By understanding how each of these technologies are used, and how they can be used concurrently, I can then use this basic knowledge to assist in product development.

The 2ds (XL) is truly a fantastic— and dare I say, the ideal— handheld console. That is, if you say fuck ninteno and hack it, of course. Which turns out is incredibly easy to do (even though I adhd stalled on it for a couple months ^^;)! It really makes me want to get into programming and making my own mods/roms (。・ω・。)
My only complaint would be the forum sites, which— similar to reddit— do contain lots of lovely and diverse individuals, but tends to attract the types of people you’d actively avoid :/
But for now I’m just going to be playing every game I missed out on as a kid. For free. Because I am a devious and unscrupulous menace to (corporate) society.
#queer modding/hacking group? 👀#nintendo is shutting down the 3ds eshop next year and they already stopped making ds/gb/earlier games why should they give a fuck?#then you get into like injects in stuff and basically if there’s a handheld game before n3ds you wanna play? We got you boo 😘#I like seeing the immediate action —> effect of the programming angle#the screen of the n2ds xL is nice and big (especially next to the old 3ds) put still portable & handheld plus powerful & capable#for reference I had/have a ds lite and switch lite#just the (homebrew) utilities is wow to me#and I have a new-found respect and love for qr codes#I love noodling in the nitty-gritty files/config/misc and that’s definitely going to fuck me some day tho#if you got a 3/2ds lying around and want links to info and guide website lmk#it’s sorta like a beginners raspberry pi?? idk I only know secondhand about that which is just: shits expensive#But I’d recommend doing it sooner rather than later to get the free software you need before the eshop shuts down march 2023 I think#OH! WiiU too!!

Another thing I really want but I’m not holding my breath for is some way to store infinite or at least near infinite Miis. On the 3DS and Wii U I could save a QR code and basically have as many Miis as I wanted. There’s no good equivalent for the Switch. I don’t even care if I have to buy a camera accessory or pay a subscription for a Pokemon Home equivalent, I’m just tired of having to decide which Miis I wanna delete every time I wanna make a new one
Things I Want in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
The editor from Miitopia (this seems to be coming back due to what was seen in the trailer)
Makeup and hair customization (again, seems to be coming back)
Miis wandering around (the trailer shows this)
More dialogue options for Miis
More song genres available for Miis to perform (and more customization with lyrics and melodies)
Since it looks like the Miis have houses now, more customization for Miis' living spaces
More food options
More options for travel
More places for Miis to go
