Last month’s production of Higekiri Hizamaru Sōki Shutsujin 2019: Soga represented a sudden shift in the Toumyu franchise. Up to this point, fans have gotten used to expecting a full scale production in addition to a year-end Ranbusai and perhaps the odd Kashuu Kiyomitsu solo or re-run. Soga completely broke the mold and set Toumyu on a path that fans should be very excited about.

Soga was the perfect vehicle to properly showcase the talents of Miura Hiroki and Takano Akira. What better way to re-tell a venerated story of brothers and their struggle to avenge their dead father than with the Genji bros? The skills of this dynamic duo are undeniable and it was a real treat for Genji fans to witness a spotlight show highlighting their dancing backgrounds and their vast improvement in acting and voice.

What made this installment even more unique was that the franchise collaborated with Hanagumi Shibai, a troupe known for celebrating and furthering the neo-Kabuki genre. The founder and head of Hanagumi, Kano Yukikazu, also featured in Soga, seamlessly switching between the role of both the mother and also the narrator. It was truly captivating watching this Kabuki master in action, nearly stealing the show from its young leads.

The marriage between the traditional art form of Kabuki and Toumyu really was a stroke of genius and a clear sign that Toumyu isn’t content to rest with its tried and true formula, but it is evolving. Producer Kayano Isamu has been warning fans about this, telling us to expect a different show with Kishou Hongi. Toumyu has even changed the format of their year-end party. It’s not Shinken Ranbu Sai anymore, but Uta Awase Ranbu Kyouran now, and it will be heavier on the storytelling front.

Changes have definitely been made and if productions like Soga is a result of them, fans will have much to look forward to.

La web oficial de la próxima nueva obra de teatro basada en el Manga de Tokyo Ghoul por Sui Ishida, ha revelado el jueves  cuatro nuevos vestuarios para los miembros de su reparto principal:

Isamu Kayano quien dirigió la primera obra de teatro basada en el Manga, regresará para dirigir la nueva obra.  

La primera obra de teatro de Tokyo Ghoul debuto en Verano del 2015, con interpretaciones en el teatro AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo por una semana a principios de Julio, y después en el teatro Kyouto Gekijou por algunos días a mediados de Julio del mismo año.

El Manga también esta inspirando una adaptación a película live-action que se estrenará el 29 de julio del 2017 en cines de Japón.

Ishida lanzó el Manga de Tokyo Ghoul en la revista Weekly Young Jump de in Shueisha en 2011 y lo finalizó en 2014, y después lanzó el Manga secuela Tokyo Ghoul:re. Tokyo Ghoul inspiró dos temporadas de Anime para televisión, varias OVAs, y juegos para PlayStation Vita y smartphones.

Nelk Planning, which has worked on many stage play adaptations based on popular Japamese manga and anime, such as The Prince of Tennis, Naruto, Haikyu!!, and Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, works on production. 54-year-old Isamu Kayano, best known for his works for the Sakura Taisen/Sakura Wars musicals, is attached to direct. En el número 11 del semanario manga Weekly Shōnen Sunday, que saldrá a la venta en Japón mañana miércoles 8 de febrero, se anuncia una nueva obra de teatro basada en la famosa obra de Rumiko Takahashi, siendo la tercera adaptación de este tipo. 

La obra, que se presentará del 6 al 15 de abril en el The Galaxy Theatre de Tokio, ya cuenta con un elenco confirmado de actores, entre los que se encuentran: Yukata Kyan (actor y miembro de la banda de rock japonesa Golden Bomber) en el papel de Inuyasha, Yumi Wakatsuki (de Nogizaka46) como Kagome Higurashi, Hiroki Sana como Sesshomaru, Junna Ito (de Nogizaka46) como Kikyo, Yukihiro Takiguchi como Miroku y a Ryou Kimura como Naraku.

  31-year-old Yutaka Kyan, a member of visual kei "air" rock band Golden Bomber, is cast as the protagonist

Inuyasha. He made his stage play debut in the adaptation of Yuu Watase's popular manga series Fushigi

Yuugi in March 2015, then played the lead in the stage play GOKÛ in February 2016, which was based on

Osamu Tezuka's manga in the late 1950s, Boku no Songoku. He said on his official Twitter today soon after

the announcement, "I will do my best not to be criticized by the fans of Inuyasha." 

  Meanwhile, 22-year-old Yumi Wakatsuki is set to play the main heroine Kagome Higurashi. She is a member of

girl idol group Nogizaka 46. As a stage play actress, she portrayed the protagonist Yuki Cross in the Vampire

Knight play based on Matsuri Hino's shoujo manga series in January and July of 2015.

[NEWS] Sato Ryuji will be Starring in "Itoshi no Hakana"

SUMMARY

Suzujiro (Sato Ryuji) is a gambler who has been left all alone in the world. With a greedy nature and sticky fingers, he is loved only by the God of Gambling. One day, Suzujiro wins a bet with a demon, and gets his hands on a beautiful woman. The name of the woman is "Hakana" (Nanaki Kanon). This beautiful woman is a person who has been made from the best parts of a collection of corpses. But, she is someone who cannot be laid with until 100 days after her birth. It is said that if she is laid with before the 100 days are up, she will turn into water and flow away.

And so it begins, the 100-day story of a man who doesn't know love and a woman who doesn't know loveー

Itoshi no Hakana: "Musical Touken Ranbu" Cast Members who Attended "Itoshi no Hakana"

"Itoshi no Hakana" is the inaugural first production of Isamu Kayano's new theater unit "Akudo Kaigi". The actors of the production were personally chosen by Kayano-san, including Ryuji. Kayano-san also decided to come out of retirement as an actor and return to the stage after 20 years because he wanted to act with Ryuji.

Kayano-san has worked with Ryuji since the "Musical Touken Ranbu ~Trial Performance~" in 2015 (the first production in the "Musical Touken Ranbu" franchise) where Ryuji played Kashuu Kiyomitsu.
