I reall loved designing the side characters! It's fun trying to figure out the different clothing styles and I really wanted to lean into the fantasy features.

Special updates: Lennox is now a fairy! I thought it was fitting since fairies get their power from community and he'd abuse that with his cult. Also Magnus gets a more casual outfit so he isn't having breakfast in full plate

Love & Legend World

Old hundred year map

The Witch Queen started to terrorize the realm a decade ago. After her defeat 3 years ago, the land had momentary peace until MC appeared which led to the return of the Witch Queen. The current governance system as it stands has historically been both just and functional. It consists of a kingdom made up of smaller allied domains.

Human Domain

The Human Domain lies to the north of the Elven Domain and is home to the human population. It is governed by the Wolfson family. Previously ruled by Lord Alaric, the domain was passed down to Lord Reiner after Alaric and his heir were killed in the war. At the heart of the domain stands a fountain, featuring a statue of Lord Alaric. Many rootless people of all backgrounds make their home here, and though the outside world often harbors prejudice against fairies, Lord Reiner and his ancestors have long ensured their protection, treating them as equal subjects alongside their human kin. The Wolfson family has also maintained close ties with the Elven Royal Family.

Coastal Domain

The Coastal Domain, situated on the west coast, encompasses both the Faerie and Merfolk Kingdoms. Known for its breathtaking beauty, it boasts white sandy beaches, rocky shores, towering cliffs, and vibrant coral reefs. A popular vacation destination, the domain’s economy thrives on tourism, and it is famous for its frequent and lively parties. The largest town in the Coastal Domain is Merida. The faeries, powerful beings with mastery over magic, have wings that enable them to fly. Since merfolk cannot walk on land, they share a council representative with the faeries to ensure their interests are well-represented.

Demon Domain

The Demon Domain was located in the space between the Dwarven and Human Domains. It was where demons were located and were governed by village elders. According to texts, the first demons were created from lava that met water. It cooled and formed the first demon. Demons have blue eyes that allow them to see in the dark and pointy ears and teeth. Demons have above average body temperature, superhuman strength, and can create fire. Because of their high body temperature, demons like spicy and hot foods. Some of these foods are not good for human digestion but others are. For their religion, they worship demon gods. The Witch Queen raged war on the demons for seven years resulting in their demise. After the demon genocide, the Human Domain started to spread their borders into their land. As there are no more demons left, there is no demon council member.

Dwarven Domain

The Dwarven Domain is located to the north and its leader is King Barzilai along with a dwarven councilor. It consists of snowy mountains which contain bismuth crystals. Because of how cold this domain is, the dwarves have built a complex system of subterranean tunnels to escape the cold. They live underground and are herders who subsit on meat and wild root vegetables. The dwarves are renowned for the gem and mineral deposits they control beneath their mountains. They use these materials to build weapons as dwarves have a strong tradition of smithing. Dwarven weapons are known for their exceptional quality. In war time, dwarven armies ride giant hyenas.

Elven Domain

The Elven Domain, located to the south of the Capital, is a monarchy ruled by the ancient and unbroken Idreis bloodline, with Queen Ishara as the current ruler. The elves, deeply connected to nature, live in harmony with the natural world, communicating with animals. Their magic gives them influence of earth and it's creatures. Most are vegetarians and they possess lifespans that stretch for centuries. Unlike other domains, the elves do not clear forests for their settlements; instead, they build their homes within and around the existing natural landscape, coexisting with the trees and the environment. Within the Elven Domain lies the legendary Fountain of Youth, a symbol of their enduring vitality. The Idreis family shares a close, long-standing relationship with the Wolfson family of the Human Domain, reflecting generations of mutual respect and cooperation. Though the elvish way of life predates the current kingdom's system—comprising smaller allied domains each ruled by a lord—the elves have integrated into this structure while preserving their traditional titles. As a result, the Elven royal family enjoys the same status and influence within the greater kingdom as the human lords, maintaining their unique cultural heritage within the broader political landscape.

The Capital

The Capital is the jewel of the realm and is located south of the human domain. It is the center of trade, diplomacy, and education. Folk from every Domain and abroad gather there to exchange knowledge and goods. Here is where the Council of Five meet. The council consists of Lord Reiner of the Human Domain, the joint representative for both Faeries/Merfolk, Ishara of the Elven Kingdom, the councilor of the Dwarven Domain, and King Barzilai. Barzilai is also the King of the whole realm. The rulers of each domain are subordinate to the king. There is no longer a demon council member as all the demons were killed off.

Eclaciel

Eclaciel is the land across the sea from the Capital. It is the paragon of art and culture in the L&L world. The Ailerose family has ruled Eclaciel for over 10 generations. It is currently ruled by King Ludovic and Queen Adelaide. However, these rulers are not fond of magic or joining a war that doesn't affect them directly as they are located a sea away. The language they speak is similar to French. Their largest export is pink marble.

I've been struggling with figuring out if I'm asexual or not (I would still like to have a romantic relationship but...). Whenever I try to talk to my parents about it, they always shut me down. “It’s perfectly normal to question where you fall in terms of sexuality, gender, and/or romantic relationships. Sometimes you have to be comfortable enough to live in uncertainty until you figure out what is right for you. There are lots of online resources you could look up. I know for myself, being able to talk to MC about being Pansexual meant so much to me. I also joined a few groups on social media to find other people I could relate to and was lucky to find many people willing to answer my questions. They also shared their own stories, which made me realize how similar and different all of our situations are. The beauty of finding what suits you, is that there isn’t a right or wrong way to go about it. There is also the comfort of knowing that you can always change your mind and find something more applicable for you over time. It’s your life, find what fits you best, even if that changes or evolves into something else.”

She's cool, okay? First I had an idea for Iris using her nature powers, but the lineart was wayyyy to detailed for colouring, so redrew it as Ishara.

Especially since her death in one route.

Also with a lineart, because I wasn't sure if the new pencils would work well on that paper. A few details were added when already in the colouring phase since not everything was apparent without colour, I simplified her clothing a bit too because everything was getting... very detailed 😅
