how do you always end up back here?
the answer remains a mystery to you, really. out of all the things that human-kind are capable of, their powers and prettiness, their strength and their stamina — even their knowledge used to invent the space shuttle that traverses the wonders of the uncharted starry abyss…and you still end up here.
you always end up in the same place — amongst the crumpled linen of pro hero deku’s one bedroom condo. it’s high up enough that it just touches the skyline, it dips past the surface of powder blue skies into the inky black canvas of night to which you find yourself falling victim to sinful touches and muted whispers of pleasure.
it’s the same every time; izuku calls and you answer without hesitation — come rain or shine. you’ll often tumble past the threshold of his apartment with regret and pain pushed to the back of your mind because you’d much rather kiss him and taste the cigarette ash on his tongue in the moment than think logically or have some sense about you. in your world, there’s no better feeling in the world than deku’s masterful, scarred hands spanning out against the base of hour spine or napping out your curves. nothing beats the euphoric high you get from his hips smacking against yours almost in tune with the beat of his heart.
he pulls you into his orbit. he places himself at the centre of your universe. he fills you up both physically and mentally to the point where every inch of your body and every corner of your heart is overcome with a scorching need for izuku midoriya, like you’ve been engulfed by the sun, it tingles at the tips of your toes and fingers to the top of your head. when he moans your name after every orgasm you share together desire lights up within you like a solar flare — you feel special, desired and maybe even loved.
but this is just sex.
it’s always been just sex, especially to izuku.
there’s a risk in allowing yourself to believe it could ever be anything more, and yet, you can’t stop yourself from indulging in this sweet fantasy every time you end up tangled in the pro hero’s expensive sheets. how could you not when he fucks you like you’re the only woman he’s ever loved.
playing pretend in your head while he sends shooting stars of ecstasy across your line of sight.
shame and regret always hits you like a truck right after — forcing you to deal with the derailing reality that is loving someone who doesn’t want you back and sleeping with them just to get close enough to that feeling of adoration. it’s bad in the morning, but worse at night after deku has cleaned you up with a tender touch and tucked you in for some sleep — rolled onto his side as his own breathing evens out and his consciousness floats away into the depths of deep, empty space.
you think that he’s still sleeping when the constellations of honey brown freckles on his back begin to blur and your vision swims from unshed tears and you curl in on yourself. claw marks and crescent moons from your perfectly trimmed nails have left their mark on his golden skin, etched between sun-spotted freckles and a collection of faded battle scars — if you look close enough, one might mistake the surface level wounds you’ve left on deku’s body as an attempt at scratching through the space-time continuum to be closer to him.
izuku stays awake, hoping that you’ll find the strength to get up and leave him so that he doesn’t  have to turn around and pretend to love you again. though, there’s a selfish wish rooted in the back of his mind, longing for you to stay. for you to play make believe for a little longer, to wish upon the North Star and beg for some kind of grace from god — hoping that izuku midoriya will love you some way, somehow.
he’ll fake it for as long as he can, if it means being the only person to touch you and hold you and kiss you. he’ll pretend to rip every star in the sky for you and breathe false affection past your lips with every kiss if it means he can replace the pain in your lungs and help you breathe a little easier. because in his own twisted way, izuku cares about your feelings…at least to some degree. he’d rather pretend than end things right here, right now. maybe that’s his saviour complex and his instinctual, dire need to save people who doesn’t need saving.
maybe it’s because this little arrangement has gone on for far too long, to the point where he can’t tell what hurts you or what doesn’t.
when the bulking pro hero shifts beneath the linen sheets, you hand bolts out to grab him — and, as if you’re protecting the embers of a dying flame, a fading star between your fingers, you pull him back into your chest. grasping onto him, holding out for something. you’re afraid that if you let go, izuku will disappear into space’s abyss and you might never get to have him like this again. another selfish wish. this time from you, not from him.
don’t go. you want to tell him. don’t fizzle away. you want to say. you know that it’s wrong to want to keep someone you can’t, who won’t love you, around. it’s testament to how much respect you have for yourself, how much self worth you have. which, from the looks of it, is little to none. you feel like you might die without izuku, even if what you have of him is so little. a plant with a crane its neck reaching for even the tiniest bit of sunlight to grow… that’s how you feel about izuku’s…affections for you. even if it’s not real love, you still yearn for it and blossom underneath it. even if you should let him go because you love him, you don’t want to.
out of fear that he may not come back.
when izuku says your name, whispers it into the black hole of the night — he treats it as if it’s made of gold. the syllables heavy on his tongue, weighing it down with a force of gravity. “are you awake?” he adds, despite feeling the shake of your limbs behind him from crying. he speaks slow and tender, the gravel of the early morning still in his voice.
your breath hitches warmly against his bare back like a mist over his sun spotted freckles. “no.” a dishonest answer that would have given you away instantly had the evergreen haired hero not already been up and listening to you cry. you sound strained, stuffy and he knows your pretty eyes are probably a putrid red and that there’s snot stains left in tracks on his satin sheets. and maybe, if he loved you like he should — this wouldn’t have happened, he wouldn’t feel so much guilt to the point where he feels sick to his stomach.
loving you is dangerous territory, like a trip to the uncharted parts of deep dark space. the concept alone is terrifying enough to send icy blood through izuku midoriya’s veins where he’s usually so hopeful and fearless. if he lets himself, for even a second, fall in love with you — there would be a chance your life would change for the worse, a chance that you wouldn’t be able to bare the long nights without him or the weeks where he’s gone. you hardly see deku now, how would you cope when he’s finally yours but too far away from you to touch. you could be in the same bed and he would still be light years away, galaxies ahead of your own train of thought because he is constantly thinking of who and how to save next.
not to mention the very fact that his existence is a threat to your livelihood, with villains lurking around every corner just waiting for a chance to make the number one weak…
…loving izuku midoriya would be like standing still in the middle of a hurricane on jupiter.
no one would be able to withstand the largest storm in the universe, not even you, and the strength you find in loving izuku.
still, you’re a liar and izuku knows it. even if he’s not supposed to. the bed creaks beneath his weight as he rolls over to face you, freckled cheek sinking into the cotton hills on his pillows as he finally sets his emerald sights on you. “you must be dreaming then,” he laughs fondly through his nose when he speaks, bringing a thumb up from underneath the duvet to swipe away your drying tears. the ones you tried so desperately to hide. water doesn’t fall in out space, it drifts endlessly and becomes a liquid with no form. izuku wishes you weren’t crying over him.
shrugging, you lean into the man’s touch, letting deku cup your cheeks and trace your smile lines that don’t seem so smiley anymore. the early morning moonlight ( the sun has yet to rise ), illuminates the stars in his mossy eyes that practically plead for you to let go, and your heart lurches painfully. he feels sorry for you. “i hope so.” comes your tired whisper. embarrassed and heartbroken, you look away and tuck your face under the duvet — chin brushing your naked shoulders, skin bare and bitten and bruised from the night before. “if i am, i don’t want to wake up.”
“what happens in your dreams?” capturing your chin between his fingers, izuku tilts your gaze over to him — inquisitive, cautious as if you’re an alien life form and he’s trying his best not to scare you away. he doesn’t quite understand you, why you keep returning to him , only to find yourself naked, vulnerable and heartbroken the next day.
“you love me back, i think. we’re more than what we are right now.”
bitter selfishness tacks itself to the back of your throat like bile — you know that you’re being unkind and greedy to izuku by voicing your thoughts out loud, begging him for even the tiniest slither of love but what’s worse is the lack of compassion for yourself. the endless torture you inflict on your being just waiting for the number one hero to maybe love you back.
in away, it makes you deserving of one another. whatever it is that the two of you have is no healthier than a pack of cheap cigarettes from the combini at the top of the road. a nicotine addiction that neither of you seem to be able to quit. humming into the moonlit void, deku brushes a thumb over your streaked, pudgy cheek — tracing the tear stains and the tracks left by the lines in the pillowcase.
his eyes shimmer like the Milky Way on a clear night as he looks at you, strands of longing twisting within the vibrant green flecks in midoriya’s eyes. it must be lonely for him out there — he’s in another universe of his own and you can hardly compare to or comprehend it. “are you still dreaming?” he asks.
reaching up, you grab his wrist from underneath the covers — feeling his pulse beat steadily underneath the pad of your thumb. “i hope so.” you repeat your words from earlier, lashes fluttering against your cheeks — heart pounding.
“then i’ll love you how you like,” midoriya agrees, masking his sadness with his signature hero smile. the one he uses to let the people he saves know that everything will be okay. even when it’s not. izuku treats you like a damsel in distress and maybe you are. you need saving from yourself, from him and he knows it. you both do. “at least until you wake up.”
nodding, you close your eyes and lock off the rest of your senses — listening to only the sounds your steady breathing mingling in your own personal pocket of space. time freezes for the two of you, you don’t know how many light years it’s been before you speak again — but izuku’s warmth is still there, still enveloping you like the brilliant rays of the sun at the centre of your universe. he doesn’t dare cast you out into the icy cold of space. not yet.
“then i’ll try to keep dreaming, i’m not ready to wake up just yet.” comes your quiet voice as you lean forward to press your forehead against izuku’s freckled one.
not yet.
he exhales, deep and sad, but cups your face a little tighter and draws you in a little closer. “me either, not yet.”
not yet. together, wrapped up in one another, the two of you decide that you'll stay lost in the web of constellations for a little bit longer.
not yet.

Cheating Dilf Izuku END
Husband Midoriya Izuku x Wifey Reader
Tumblr media
Warning: Angst
[PART 3] [Cheating Dilf Izuku Masterlist]
You hated hospitals.
You sat in the waiting room, your own minor injuries attended to long ago as you sat beside Momo. Horikoshi Hero Hospital had seen enough of you and you doubted this would be the last time you saw it. You could barely keep it together as you prayed and prayed. You were shaking like a leaf in fear.
Toshinori, you and Kane had just made it out when the building collapsed. It was terrifying because you had no idea what had happened to Izuku but you had to get the kids to safety and to a healer as quickly as possible. Reinforcements and first responders arrived quickly on the scene and luckily with a healing quirk, getting Kane’s concussion healed was easy but Toshinori had to be taken to the hospital. Once you had the boys safely in the arms of paramedics, you had run back with cuts and bruises from the collapse, to where you last saw Izuku.
You couldn’t watch the TV as your legs bounced up and down. A video of you pulling at rubble trying to find your husband under it all played. With your direction, they had managed to find him alive thankfully but you were forced into an ambulance to get checked out.
With Jigsaw found and pronounced dead on the scene, your husband was claimed a hero.
However, he was fighting for his life in theatre.
Tenya sat with you, Momo and Shoto. Mina and Hanta were looking after the boys along with your mother-in-law, allowing you to wait here till your husband woke up. Toshinori was asleep in the paediatric wing, his arm being in a cast and he would be allowed to go home tomorrow.  You felt like you could barely breathe as you sat there waiting. It had been longer than ten hours and you were just hoping that maybe, maybe by some miracle, Izuku was still alive.
You hated what he did to you, you hated that he cheated and he didn’t talk to you. But you were far more afraid of losing the one man who had loved you more than himself, more than anything. You needed him a lot more than you cared to admit and the thought of losing him made you sick to your stomach.
You loved Midoriya Izuku and if he died, you were going to kill him.
“Mrs Midoriya.” At the sound of your name, you looked up as the leading surgeon of the hospital walked over to you.
You stood up from where you sat, looking to him for answers and so did your friends. You looked to him as you held your hands to your chest. “Is… Is he…” You couldn’t get it out, in fear that your hope would be false placed.
He nodded his head. “He’s alive, Mrs Midoriya.”
You let out a relieved sigh as you nearly stumbled back. Shoto and Tenya held you up right, making sure you wouldn’t fall. A tear left your eye as you nodded your head, indicating that you were fine, as you lifted up your head to look back up at the doctor. You motioned for him to continue which he did.
“Your husband’s a fight Mrs Midoriya. He was very lucky that there was little internal bleeding and most internal organs were not injured nor punctured in the collapse. However…” He hesitated as he looked to your friends.
You instantly could tell that this might be a sensitive matter so you looked to Tenya. He nodded his head as you stepped away from them to walk a bit of a distance with the doctor. “Yes?” You asked softly.
He looked at you sympathetically as he led you towards your husband’s hospital room. “When the first responders had found him in the area you had indicated, they had found that a considerate amount of rubble had fallen on his legs. We tried our best and although we managed to save them we later found out a spinal injury that, well…” He hesitated and you knew what that meant. Your face fell at the implications. “Unfortunately, Mrs Midoriya, your husband is paralysed from the waist down.”
You were speechless at what was said to you.
Paralysed? As in-
“So he’ll never…” You found this hard to say too.
The doctor nodded his head. “He won’t ever walk again.” He confirmed your suspicions, making you still. “The hero commission has offered that we do stem cell treatments to try and rectify what has happened. It would take a while but previous treatments and trials have a sixty percent success rate in succeeding and giving him a chance at walking again.” You swallowed down hard as you followed the doctor, knowing that that would be the best course of action, however you knew how much being a hero meant to Izuku. “The technology and science of it all is still new and it does not work on everyone but the hero commission has high hopes it will work for him. We just need the go ahead from you and we can start. The sooner the better.” Finally, you both stopped in front of a door. You hesitated and motioned to it. He nodded his head. “You can sit with him. The anaesthesia should be wearing off but it’s still not sure whether or whether not he would wake up.”
You nodded as you put your hand on the door handle and walked in, closing the door behind you. The room was dark despite the dim lights as you walked in. The beeping of the machines unnerved you as you walked closer towards him. You had gotten used to it and you hated that fact. It always reminded you of those moments where Izuku would have some close calls but he always tried to minimise those ever since you started your family.
You finally got to the side of his bed where he was. Izuku lay there sleeping, most cuts and bruises healed by a healing quirk and for the most part he looked fine, besides a bandaged arm, the IVs connected to him and the oxygen mask. However, as your eyes went down you had to bite back a sob. Of course, you couldn’t see the scars over the blanket but just knowing that he would most likely never move his legs again, made you have to cover your mouth.
You shakily sat down at his side, the seat beside him that was positioned just for you. You were glad that the Horikoshi Hero Hospital was the only hospital in Japan that allowed twenty-four hour visitation for family, which meant you didn’t have to leave his side.
You were scared to take his scarred hand.
He had taken this sacrifice for you. He had done this for you and your boys, so that you wouldn’t have to live in fear of Jigsaw escaping again or for another sacrifice to be made. He had basically sent himself as a martyr to die for you, when he knew you hated him for what he did. When he knew that you would barely even let him touch you in private, let alone acknowledge anything he did.
You bit back your sobs as your head fell. He was trying so hard with the boys. He tried so hard. He took time off and stayed all day with Koda and took the boys to school and picked them up. He gave you time to breathe. He would gift you flowers every day, do the laundry, take the boys out for ice-cream after school. He was trying so hard, and you shut him down at every turn.
You were just… you were so angry with him. You loved him so much but you were so disappointed and he knew that.
Yet he didn’t stop.
He respected everything you said and did. He blocked Ochaco’s number and went to a therapist every week. He slept on a futon in your bedroom instead of on the bed because you weren’t comfortable with him there. He always tried to speak to you about things that were insignificant despite you shutting down every conversation that wasn’t about the boys or the house.
He was trying.
And you hated that you loved him.
And now you hated that you hated him despite loving him all the same.
“Izuku…” You let out quietly as you kept your head down as you grasped his hand in yours. “You’re so fucking stupid.” You let out tightening your hold on him in anger. “How could you sacrifice yourself like that? And leave me all alone? I can’t-” You felt yourself choke up. “I can’t raise the boys without you. I could never do that. I’m not as strong as you think I am. Did you think I would be alright because you thought I hated you?” You asked gently.
You felt a sob vibrate out of you as you rested your head on the bed. You sniffed as you tried to pull yourself together but you couldn’t. You cried. You sobbed and you shook your head. You brought his hand to your face. He always loved to hold your face, to hold your head, to touch your neck. To feel you. You wanted Izuku to feel you. You wanted him to hold you.
You wanted your husband.
“I don’t!” You confessed. “I don’t hate you! I was so disappointed that I wasn’t enough for you! But I couldn’t bring myself to leave you. I love you. Just… just please…” You sobbed as you held onto his hand as the quiet beeping of his heart rate monitor went off in the room.
“Am I in heaven?” The voice took you by surprise as you stiffened and looked up from where you were sitting. Izuku was looking at you with a tired expression, his green eyes were gentle and soft as he looked up at you. “Or is there an angel sitting next to me?” He asked with a smile.
You paused as you took in what he had just said. You couldn’t help but laugh as you dropped your head shaking it. “That was horrible.” You laughed.
“Too much, my love?” He asked tiredly. It took him only a second before he realised. “Shit- sorry I mean-”
“No, It’s okay.” You tightened your hold on his hand as you smiled at him. “It isn’t too much.” You hesitated to ask. “Did you hear everything?”
He hesitated. He shook his head. “No, not at all.” He denied, clearly lying to you.
You closed your eyes in embarrassment. “You heard everything didn’t you?”
“Every word. To be fair, you aren’t a very quiet crier.” He confessed making you groan. He chuckled as he lay looking at you, his eyes never leaving your face. You felt him move his fingers over your knuckles. “I’m glad you’re here.” He spoke softly. “I didn’t think…” He let out a soft scoff. “Honestly, I didn’t think I’d live to see you again, nevertheless to you sitting by my side.”
You fought a smile to your face as you shrugged. You wanted to say so much to him but with him looking at you, you found it hard to do so. “We still need to go to Okinawa, remember?” You spoke softly.
You watched as his eyes widened with a light in them. A grateful and relieved smile on his face. “Really?” He asked with a whisper. “Do… do you mean it?” He asked.
You nodded with a chuckle. “Yes.”
He leaned back against his pillow closing his eyes with a smile on his handsome face. “I’m so glad.” He whispered. He lay there for a moment before turning back to you. “So hit me with it, what bones did I break this time?” He asked with a humerous smile.
You did not smile.
Instantly he noticed that you weren’t smiling. You hesitated as you looked down away from him. You weren’t sure how you were going to tell him this nor what you were going to say. You looked to him with a broken expression. You carefully stood up and adjusted his hospital bed so that it could incline so he could sit up a bit.
Izuku gave you a weird look. “Y/N, what’s this about?” He asked with a chuckle. “I’ve heard it all, okay. You don’t have to-” He stopped talking for a moment. He let out a soft scoff before looking down again. “I… Why can’t I feel my legs?” He asked as he looked to you. You didn’t say anything as you just stared at him. Izuku froze for a second before looking back down at his legs. “Y/N… Y/N I’m serious. I- I can’t-”
“You injured your spinal cord.” You whispered, finally answering him. However, that was all he needed to know the severity of his injury.
It was deathly silent for that moment despite the sound of the machines.
Suddenly you noticed that his hand was shaking. He opened his mouth to speak but no words came out. His eyes wide as he looked at you but then he looked back down at his legs. Suddenly you noticed the rapid sounds of his heart rate monitor and breathing rate.
“Izuku, Izuku you have to calm down.” You told him as you held his hand tighter and moved to hug him.
However, his heartrate didn’t calm down and only started to climb.
He shook his head as tears started to fall from his eyes. He bit back cries as he held onto you with hands, gripping onto hard as he tried not to fall into shock.
“Is everything alright!?” Running in were two nurses.
“He’s awake!” You shouted at them. “Call the doctor.” Immediately one of them ran out while the other one ran off somewhere. “Izuku, breathe for me. Just breathe.” You told him as you held him, putting a hand to his face. “I’m here. I’m right here, my love. Just breathe.”
The other nurse came back and stuck a needle in a bottle he brought. He took a quick measurement before moving to your husband’s IV and sticking the needle in. “Give him a minute, he’ll calm down in a bit. It’s okay Mr Midoriya, everything is going to be fine.” The nurse said as he placed down the needle and moved to grab another blanket.
It did indeed only take a minute before you noticed his heartrate start to gradually start to subside. His grip on you eased as he lay back but you held onto him. You saw the tears that left his eyes but never heard a cry. He looked at you with a broken expression.
Your shoulders sagged. “Izuku, I’m so sorry. You won’t be able to still be a he-”
“I won’t be able to dance with you.” You looked down at him confused as to why he said that. Izuku looked at you with a sad expression. He blinked as more tears fell. “How… how can I play outside with the boys? Or train Toshinori?”
You just looked at your husband confused. Why was he thinking about you and the boys when his career that he had spent close to three decades cultivating, would be over.
“Don’t worry Mr Midoriya.” You turned around to see the doctor who had just entered your husband’s hospital room. “With enough physical therapy, you’ll be able to walk and move no problem. We just need your consent on something…”
After explaining everything that had happened, his injury in the T12 area of his spine and certain adjustments needed to his life, Izuku seemed pretty quiet but he understood and thanked the doctor for everything he had done to ensuring he lived. It was a tough first few hours. Izuku had nerve pains as well as discomfort and whenever he did manage to fall asleep he’d wake up in a panic due to not being able to feel his legs anymore.
Unfortunately, they had to give him sedatives so that he could sleep for more than a few minutes at a time. In that time you managed to go home and get a shower as well as pack some of Izuku’s comfortable clothes and items before going to see the boys, picking them up to come to the hospital. You had left them in the waiting room for a moment with Inko, making sure Izuku was alright with seeing them right now before letting them in.
“So dad will need a wheelchair? THAT’S SO COOL!” Hero let out loudly as he looked up at his father.
Asahi adjusted his glasses with a disappointed sigh. “Not really. Dad’s still normal, he just can’t use his legs right now.”
“So… he can’t climb the stairs anymore?” Hero blinked before his green eyes widened as he looked at his father excitedly. “DAD! Can we get an elevator in our house?”
Izuku leaned back with a chuckle against a pillow as he looked down at his boys that surrounded him. He was glad that the boys seemed to be taking this well, surely better than he did. “If mom says yes.” He stated optimistically.
You let out a chuckle as you shook your head. “If we did, then only dad can use it. Not you.”
“Aww. What?”
Asahi turned to his younger brother offended on his father’s behalf. “Dad’s the one who’s paralysed not you!” He reminded his younger brother.
Koda sat next to him on the bed, holding the little bunny teddy bear, staying cosied up to his dad with a frown. He looked up at him. “You okay, daddy?” He asked softly.
Izuku let out a soft laugh and ruffled his green hair. “I’m fine buddy. I’ll be alright.” You could tell that he was forcing out everything he was saying to make the kids feel better. “I just need some practice walking again and I’ll be back in shape in no time.” He gave one of his ProHero smiles that made others feel at ease.
Inko looked to her son with a sympathetic expression but nodded her head. “Alright boys, we should let your father get some rest. He needs it.”
“Aww.” Hero frowned with a pout as he was herded out the room. “But he’s spent the whole day asleep.”
“No. He was in surgery.” Asahi reminded him.
“Same thing.”
You couldn’t help but chuckle at that. But surprising you was the door being thrown open not even a minute after they left as your eldest son, Toshinori was at the door. His good arm opened the door as he stood there in sweatpants and a t-shirt, his arm still in its cast.
His eyes were wide as they locked onto his father. “Dad…” He let out quietly. Seeing his father awake and alive had his breath choking in his throat. Before a stuttered breath came out of his throat and soft sobs as his eyes filled with fat Midoriya tears. “DAD!” Toshinori practically flew into his father’s arms as he wrapped his arm around him. “I’m sorry! I’m so sorry I couldn’t stop him! I thought you were dead a-and I- I can’t be as strong and as brave as you! I thought- I thought-!” He let out half angry but half sad.
Izuku’s eyes widened in surprise, but his expression softened. He put a hand on top of Toshinori’s head of curly green hair with a chuckle. “Toshinori…” At the sound of his name, your eldest son looked up at Izuku who for the first time since getting told the news, held a genuine smile on his face. “My perfect sprout, I’m proud of you.” You watched Toshinori’s pupils shrink before expanding as he bit down on his lip trying to stop himself from crying. “You did your best and you held your own for as long as you could. You’re stronger than me, when I was your age I couldn’t even control One for All, let alone make sure I didn’t break my entire body using it. You are so much more braver and stronger than you think. I’m so proud to call you my son.”
You couldn’t help but smile as you watched Toshinori sob in his father’s arms, his arms around Izuku as he took in everything his father said. You couldn’t help but notice the tears in Izuku’s eyes at the interaction. You knew that somewhere deep inside this helped Izuku’s inner boy too.
It took a month before Izuku was released from hospital, but in that time your husband had been pretty… quiet to say the least. He barely spoke to you and according to the nurses and his new physiotherapist, he barely spoke at all to them either. But after so many tests and therapy sessions were done, the doctors finally cleared him to go home and had told you of all the physiotherapy appointments and everything that would be a new adjustment in his life.
The first thing Izuku noticed when you had wheeled him into your home was the few changes as he went by. His eyes widened at the sight of the biggest change so far. “You… got…”
“AN ELEVATOR!” Hero cheered as he motioned to the glass elevator that went up to the second floor of your home. “Mom said yes.”
Izuku turned to look at you with a raised eyebrow. You shrugged. “It seemed like a good choice.” You told him honestly. You turned to Toshinori and gave him a slight look.
Toshinori instantly understood the look and gave a curt nod, his arm fully healed from the healing quirks and after resting it from the surgery. “Hey guys, lets go play Just Dance!”
“OH YAH!”
“That would be fun!”
Toshinori carefully took Koda by the hand and led the four year old away from you and his father so that you could both talk. You turned forward but Izuku was already pushing himself into the elevator. You stepped inside with him, allowing the both of you inside. It was silent amongst the both of you. Neither one of you saying anything.
Finally the elevator door opened allowing Izuku to adjust himself in the wheelchair but allowed you to push him out onto the second floor. He didn’t object to where you were taking him. You took him to your bedroom, allowing him to see all the adjustments you had made. You let go of the handles of his wheel chair allowing him to venture on by himself. He pushed forward as he looked around. For one thing, he noticed that the bed was lower to the ground. He also noticed something on the wall.
He wheeled himself closer to it. His eyebrows furrowed. He motioned towards it. “What’s this?” He asked softly.
“It’s an intercom.” You stated as you walked over to it. You motioned to all the buttons. “There’s one that leads to every boys room as well as to downstairs. Just in case. It’s easier than shouting if we need them or if they need us. I’m hoping I won’t regret this decision.” You stated with a nod of your head.
Izuku let out a soft scoff but wheeled himself away from the wall and headed straight towards the bathroom. He noticed all the new additions that made your bathroom wheelchair accessible. He looked around at it all.
“What do you think?” You asked as you stood in the middle of the room.
Izuku was silent as he looked around the room before turning to look at you. He turned to face you. “Y/N…” He looked around, speechless for a moment before his eyes settled back on you. He seemed a bit uncomfortable but he forced a smile to his face. “I think this is a bit too much. You didn’t have to do this, really.”
Your eyebrows furrowed. “But I did.”
“No you didn’t.”
“Izuku-”
“I appreciate this, I really do.” He told you, closing his eyes briefly. “But I don’t deserve this. Really, just… you didn’t have to change your room like this.”
“Our room.”
He shook his head with a chuckle. “No, your room.”
You let out a sigh as you closed your eyes for a moment before opening it. “Izuku, I am not going to watch you sleep in another room or on the floor.”
“Y/N you shouldn’t be doing this. This!” He motioned down to his legs with an angry expression. “This doesn’t change anything! You shouldn’t be doing this, any of this!” He motioned around the room with a wide gesture of his hands. “The last thing I want to do, is subject you to this too!”
You let out a scoff. “Subject me to what, Izuku!”
“To a life like this!”
“Like what!”
“Y/N!”
“Izuku, this is exactly what separated us last time.” You took a step closer to him, your eyebrows furrowed as you frowned down at him. “I need you to communicate with me, to talk to me! What is so bad about this!”
“Y/N, I won’t have you spend the rest of your life like this! You deserve better!” He shouted back at you, eyes torn in agony as he stared up at you. “I broke my vows.” He put his hand to his chest, his left hand gleaming with the wedding ring you had gotten him. “I broke my vow to you to respect you and stay loyal to you! I promised you, when we got married, that I would be a man worthy of your love and devotion! Of your respect and submission. I promised you that and I broke it!” You froze were you stood as you saw tears well up in his beautiful green eyes, his eyes filled with so much pain. “I promised myself that I’d spend the rest of my life trying to rectify that, just to earn a sliver of your love and trust again, but look at me!” He let out with a pathetic laugh as he motioned to himself. “I’m half a man!”
You shook your head as you took a step closer to him. “Izuku…” You let out quietly.
“Y/N, I can’t-” His voice cracked as he looked away from you, his face pink as he tried to control his emotions. “I can’t even stand by myself let alone do anything! I will not ruin your life any more than I already have. The last nine months have been an agony for me. I lost you, I lost the boys, I lost my legs, I lost my career, I lost our son…” He hung his head in front of you, his hands gripping the railing of the wheels as he looked down away from you. You could see him shiver with so much pent-up emotion within him. “I will not let you turn yourself into a caregiver and ruin the beautiful life I was supposed to give you, more than I already have.” He whispered.
You were silent as you looked down at Izuku. You couldn’t help but feel the tears burn at your eyes. You crouched down in front of Izuku, taking his hands from his side and into your own. You looked up at the beautiful man in front of you. You gave him a weak but genuine smile as you looked up at his face, fat Midoriya tears streaming out of his eyes.
You rubbed your thumbs over his scarred knuckles. “Izuku…” You started out softly. “You are the same man right now than you have ever been, if not more so.” You told him honestly. “I do not see you any less of a man just because you’re paralysed or need help. I made a vow to you on our wedding day to stand by you in sickness and in health, for better or for worse, in life and in death and I meant that. I have yet to break it and I don’t ever plan on doing so. I don’t care if I have to help you shower for the rest of our lives, Izuku.” You let out with a soft laugh and a bright smile. “I don’t care if you aren’t the Number One hero anymore. You sacrificed yourself for me and for our son. That is the strongest thing a man could ever do.”
Izuku closed his eyes, tears falling down his face as he bit down sobs, wielding himself to try and not break down in front of you. He didn’t deserve your words and yet he was getting them. He just wanted to disappear.
“Izuku, I am your wife… and you are my husband.” He opened his eyes to look at you. You reached up to cup the side of his face with a gentle smile. “You’ve gotta do a whole lot more if you want to get rid of me.” You joked. He let out a soft scoff as he put a hand to cover your own as he buried his face in your hands. His grip on you turned harsh as he cried and you reached up and hugged him. You held him as you tapped his back soothingly. “We’re going to do this together, Zuzu. Even if we got to take baby steps first. We’ll get there.”
“Announcing, his excellency, the Number One ProHero of Japan, ProHero Deku and his wife Mrs Midoriya.”
You pushed Izuku’s wheelchair onto stage, the both of you stepping into the limelight. You were dressed in your family’s colours of white, gold and green. Izuku was dressed in a matching coloured suit as you took him to the centre of the stage. There were claps given but honestly, both of you couldn’t hear it. You were sure Izuku couldn’t.
This would be the last time he would address people as the Number One ProHero of Japan, and as an actively serving hero. You parked his wheelchair before putting a hand to his shoulder. He looked up at you, a cleanly shaven face but age still present in the grey hairs and small wrinkles. You nodded your head. He smiled as he put a hand over your own briefly before accepting the microphone as you took a step back. You always did that when he had to make an address.
It would always be the Number One hero and his wife standing at his side.
Izuku drew in a stuttered breath as he already felt tears in his eyes. “Twenty years ago, I became the Number One Hero of this country, it has been a rank that I have carried with honour and one I do not take for granted. I never thought this would be how I retired, I was hoping to have a few more years on me before I would let my eldest son take over my agency. However, life doesn’t always go as planned. So it is with a heavy heart that I officially announce my immediate retirement from on duty hero work. I would like to thank Japan for allowing me the honour of being at your service. If I could stand and bow, I would. Thank you, deeply.” He bowed his head and at the waist, far more than he should have and you did the same.
However, you saw the applause he received and knew that everything he had ever done was worth it, even now.
After that, you stirred Izuku down onto the floor where he received a lot of best wishes and gratitude. All that he was worth. You could tell by the smile he adorned on his face, he was keeping everything together until he could go home. He was still finding it rough to be in a wheelchair but he had made great progress. He was hoping to stand for his speech but that just wasn’t a reality right now. But he was getting there, deservingly so.
“You know Izuku,” Kirishima started as he stood beside his wife, her stomach still swollen with the baby girl she was carrying. He kept a hand on her hip, as he kept a hand in his pocket as he talked to your husband. “If you ever considerate, you could definitely go and teach at UA. After retiring myself, I quite enjoy it for a bit before I joined the Hero Council.” Your eyebrows raised forgetting that option. Kirishima had been one of the first of you all to retire from active duty work. Being a hero wasn’t a long job, most retiring by the age of thirty five and at most fourty-five.
You looked down at Izuku who’s eyebrows raised in surprise as well. “Well, I never thought of it.” He let out as he raised a hand to scratch the back of his neck. “But the commission did offer to put me on the council. It seems like a big decision to make.”
“Indeed.” You turned at the sound of a voice. Approaching the four of you was Katsuki, dressed in an all black suit with orange elements but on his arm was Ochaco. Your husband was the first to scowl but you kept your kind diplomatic smile out of duty. Katsuki smirked down at your husband. “Enjoy your retirement Deku. You deserve it after all the long years of service.” It almost sounded harmless, if you didn’t know Katsuki as well as you did.
Izuku forced a smile to his face as he leaned back with a breath. “Enjoy being Number One Kacchan, took you so long to get there.” He acknowledged, nodding his head. “Only took me injuring my back for you to surpass me.”
“Well, our prayers are answered differently.” You had to do a double take at Katsuki and what he had just said before he continued to speak. “Y/N, I have to thank you.” You finally saw something genuine on Katsuki and that was a smile. “For saving Kane’s life. It means the world to me that you saved my only child.”
You saw Eijiro stiffen at that mention, keeping his mouth shut at that. His wife kept a hand on him, trying to keep him calm. You could imagine, after the both of them had been married for over a decade and had both Kane and Satomi, it must have been hard for Eijiro to hear that. Satomi wasn’t Katsuki’s biologically but they still got their kids together.
You smiled with a nod. “It’s the least I can do. I love Kane and I would do it again.”
“I know you would. It’s what makes you the perfect mother.” He stated softly, almost with a reminiscent look.
Suddenly there was a flash of light and Katsuki had doubled over with a grunt as he cupped his groin. “Oh my goodness, Kacchan are you okay?” You heard your husband say with a surprised face as he looked up at the blond. “I am so sorry, I didn’t see your pathetic excuse of a manhood there.” You and Eijiro’s new wife looked at each other in shock as your daw dropped. Izuku looked up at Katsuki sympathetically. “I was trying to call a waiter but you were in the way.”
Katsuki let out a low growl as he glared at Izuku, trying to stand up straight. “Why you son of a-”
“Are you cussing me out because I’m disabled and I made a mistake?” Izuku asked putting a hand to his chest with a faux shocked expression. “How horrible, honestly I-”
“Izuku.” Ochaco let out sickeningly sweet as she smiled down at your husband. Izuku’s eyes flicked to her before he let out a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. She stood in a black dress but wore emerald green earings on her ears. Shameless. “That was a great speech, you gave. I know you are technically on retirement but I still need help on that case and-”
“I’m sorry, Uravity but I can’t get past your earrings.” Izuku stated as he looked up at her with a frown. “They do not suit you at all. Did I gift them?”
She looked taken a back and shocked at his words. “Uh… no, but-”
“Good. Now can you all excuse me,” Izuku made a look to you and you smiled. “I still need to do my rounds before I leave. It is a school night.” He stated as he pushed himself back. You took the handles of Izuku’s wheelchair as you stirred him away, the both of you heading away from Katsuki and Ochaco, waving to Eijiro and his wife. Izuku shook his head with a tsk. “Thank goodness I can’t stand because if I could, I would have punched him straight through a pillar.” You couldn’t help but giggle. “Hey, Y/N.”
“Yes Izu?”
He looked up at you for a moment, pupils round as he did so. “You look divine.”
You couldn’t help but soften at the compliment. You felt heat brush up your neck. “Thank you.”
Although you were both still at baby steps…
It was a start you were willing to take.
THE END

Divorcing Izuku Midoriya Headcanons
I'm on a creative rush, and this may make zero sense because I'm tired lmao. Anyways, have some angst <3
Tagging the babes: @doumadono @shonen-brainrot @trickster-kat @angelshimaa (babe, you've missed some very angsty posts) @xhieru @mimisxs @dabislittlemouse
Content Warning: Divorce, emotional abuse and manipulation, mention of baby-trapping, alcohol.
• As I said in my last post, divorcing Izuku is a nightmare. Think about the most energy-draining and mental health deteriorating process, and multiply it for a minimum of 6 months. Izuku won't make things easy for you at all, trying to drag and prolong the whole ordeal just to keep you close. I've divided this set of headcanons by key moments/topics to keep some order. I hope you enjoy them, I'm pouring my heart on these (also pay attention to detail because I'm working on something hehe).
Denial and confusion: the first days after you serve him papers
• Izuku genuinely doesn't understand why you want to leave, refusing to accept the fact that you're not happy being by his side. He's given you all there is to give: a comfortable house, nice clothes, expensive cars, etc. So when you serve him papers, Izuku's first reaction is confusion followed by fear. In that head of his, he's made everything a good husband has to do! So why? Why would you not be happy?
• If you were smart enough and planned your movements with care, you should be able to go through your divorce without depending financially on Izuku or having to live in the same place. You'd have to deal with his incessant calls and texts, often having to block unknown numbers to avoid hearing his whines, but it'd be less difficult. If you weren't thoughtful about the situation and proceeded without the right steps, oh, you're in for a treat: there's nowhere you can go besides the house you shared with him, no place where you can be at peace. You're at Izuku's mercy, like it or not, but that's another story.
• In addition to his denial, Izuku starts to (unconsciously) guilt trip you. Phrases like "Sorry for not being enough," and "I know I'm very pathetic" become frequent. It pains your heart to hear those things because you know Izuku loves you, you are just not compatible at all. You try to let him see it's not about being enough, it's more about effort; with much patience, you set things clear to avoid any misunderstandings, but Izuku just doesn't get it.
• "Haven't I done this or that for you? Didn't I buy you all these things? Am I not enough?" "Izuku, I didn't ask you for any of this, all I wanted was my husband..." Conversations like this occur during this phase, and they can only be held through the phone (when he is sober and not yelling/hollering how much of a mistake a divorce would be). He tries to gauge sympathy from you, telling you that his job is important but that he loves you so much!
• He becomes an empty shell of the bright ray of sunshine the public knew. It goes unnoticed by many, but the people who work around him can tell. It is then when he starts telling others about his marital situation, and you end up seeing faces you've met once or twice during galas or hero events. You "accidentally" stumble across your husband's colleagues, like Ochako, who try to convince you to give him a second chance. "I- I know we don't know each other a lot but please, consider it. Izuku is a great guy a-and I'm sure you guys could fix any problem!" It is embarrassing for you because no one wants people to know their issues.
• What's so ironic about the moment when you serve him papers is that he receives them at his office, the very root of all the problems in your marriage. It was the place where he had spent anniversaries, birthdays, Valentine's... those four walls witnessed the beginning and the end of your relationship. Izuku has a mental breakdown when he finally reads the documents but, hey, he was still pro-hero Deku, right?
Negotiations and lawyers: The first weeks and months
• If having to deal with Izuku's colleagues trying to change your mind wasn't enough, be ready for your soon-to-be ex trying to negotiate. Midoriya suggests couple's therapy to talk this through, and for a split of second, it almost sounds like a good idea! But then you remember all those times when Izuku had promised you he'd be there for you and failed. It didn't seem plausible after that... Besides, all things considered, it'd be hard to find a therapist who could see your side of the story. Who would dare to tell someone as charming and popular as Izuku that he failed as a husband?
• Once therapy is off the table, Izuku brings up children. It may be considered a low blow, especially if one of your dreams was to form a family with him, so his offer felt cruel. "W-we can have kids! Wouldn't you want that? We can be a big family, with one- No, two babies!" "Ouch, it takes a divorce for you to even think about it, huh? That's uh, slightly concerning. Besides, a kid needs a father too... I'm not planning on being a single mom in this marriage" Now, Izuku strikes me as the kind that would try to . to stay. I'm sorry if it sounds terrible, but considering how sometimes he acts on impulse, he really could try it.
• Izuku also tries to be at home more often; he "cooks" (it's takeout disguised as home meals), brings you coffee to the bed, and calls you all kinds of sappy nicknames... It saddens you, why couldn't he care like that before? Of course, this point only applies if you still live with him during this whole process. If you don't, he starts frequenting the places where he guessed could find you: cafeterias, plazas, shops...
• Finding a lawyer for you was a hard task, especially because everyone sees you as a "dumb" woman who is trying to divorce Japan's number one hero. Not to mention they were very expensive, and Izuku was certainly not giving you money for that. You tell Izuku that mediations need to happen to progress with the divorce, but he never shows up to the meetings. There's always an excuse for that man! No matter how much you plea, he refuses to sign the paper. Izuku also becomes very mean towards you, outright berating you for not understanding him. It's gruesome to see him turn into such a monster during these months.
• As an additional point for this part, Izuku hires a private investigator to follow you around. He feels bad for thinking of it, but the idea that you could be seeing someone else while you're trying to divorce him eats him alive.
Last resort: Mediatic battle
• The media is very quick to pick up your marriage's fall down. Time after time you visited your lawyer's office for them to put two and two together, and Izuku takes that to his advantage. Sensationalist articles had already been happening, a lot of them being cruel and demeaning towards you. Titles like "Is she a cheater?" "No amount of success gives you the girl!" And "Pro-hero Deku will be looking for a new wife soon" started popping up. You have to take down any social platform to avoid being targeted.
• It is when Izuku gives a public declaration that things get worse. "I'm sorry, my wife is just not happy with me anymore. Please respect her wish! Don't harass her, I failed as a husband." It may seem like a hearty and sorrowful declaration from the outside, but Izuku picked word by word to gain sympathy and pressure you into changing your mind. People in the street call you "heartless", and the stress simply keeps growing for you.
• To put it in simple words, you were David against Goliath, except Goliath was a glorified person who had all the resources and support of the people. You were nothing but a tiny mouse squeaking to be set free of a relationship that was suffocating you.
The aftermath: Supposing you haven't given up and he signed the divorce papers
• If you somehow manage to divorce him after all these problems, congratulations. You survived 5% of the drama that awaits you! Now you won't be able to date someone without people snapping photos for entertainment news or judging you for leaving "such a great man". Izuku will still try to convince you to go back to him, playing his "sad lover" role in front of the cameras so well! He'll try to send expensive gifts and tell you to keep the house, he'll call you drunk in the middle of the night, and if you're not careful enough, he may try to gaslight you into thinking nothing wrong was happening in your marriage.
• One particular thing I must mention is that Izuku only signed the papers after you yelled at him at one of the legal mediations, hot embarrassment tears falling from your tired eyes as you begged him to let you go.
• Anyways, the list could go on, but those are the main points of divorcing Izuku :')
"Please, just sign the papers..." You said through the phone, your voice tired of pleading to someone who simply refused to hear you. "I will, I will! I'm just a little under the snow with work. Can you reschedule?" Izuku said, apologizing for not being there for you. Excusing himself for failing you, but refusing to let go. "You know how many articles I've seen with my face saying how much of bitch I am for visiting my lawyer's office?"
Izuku's silence was deafening, you could only hear him sigh slightly, perhaps feeling bad for putting you in such a position. "I don't want this divorce."
"But I do, so don't make things more difficult for me, please." He heard you say, biting his lip to hold back the tears. Izuku was glad you couldn't see him, sitting alone in his office with a half-empty bottle of wine you'd gifted him for his birthday. "Do you remember what day is today?" He asked.
"I don't know, Monday? I haven't slept lately." You answered unamused. "It's our anniversary... we married 5 years ago, on this very day." His words came out as a slow slur, his breath hitching as he crumbled through the phone. "I miss you a lot, please-"
"I'll see you on Wednesday, if you're not there I swear to God..."
...
"Mr. Midoriya?" Your lawyer called, her voice bringing your anxious husband back to reality. "Ah, sorry, it's me. Is... is she in there?" He asked, pointing at her office. She just looked at him with little sympathy and nodded. "On time, as always. Maybe you should avoid keeping her waiting, that's the least you could considering how many times we've had these conversations."
"There's no way I can fix this, is there?" Izuku asked as if the lawyer cared. "Wanna do something nice for her? Divorce her."

Can you do bakugou and midoriya with a jealous s/o? Preferably, s/o jealous over a fellow fem!classmate? Lots of angst then fluff at the end! Thank you so much!!!
Angst and fluff is the best combination.
Pairing: Bakugou Katsuki x Fem!Reader x Izuku Midoriya
Tags: fluff, angst, developing relationship, jealousy, confession, poly relationship, kissing, flirting, cuddling
A/N: Having them as boyfriends would give you whiplash.
Tumblr media
You noticed when you were training together that your heart rate spiked when Bakugou and Izuku talked to other girls
And it wasn't in the fluttering way that it beat when you'd catch Izuku looking at you in class, or when Bakugou would toss you a playful wink
It was a painful, aching, burning sensation deep within your chest
Bakugou kept looking at you, leaning into your space, thinking there was something going on, you were more flustered then usual and he needed to know why
Izuku on the other hand offered to talk to you, he cares for all of his classmates so when he sees you feeling down he wants to cheer you up
The only problem is that he doesn't realize that you only want his company, well his and Bakugou's, not anyone else right now
When you're done with training and you see both of them being fawned over, being complimented and touched
It's silly, you're not dating either one of them but your emotions well up so much that you unleash your Quirk by accident, catching everyone's attention including that of Izuku and Bakugou
Embarrassed you run away, crying as you run, but not before your eyes meet both of theirs
They're just as confused as everyone else is but they take off after you, not wanting to leave you
Izuku wants to comfort you, Bakugou wants to know what the hell has been happening with you lately
They find you in your room, sitting in the corner of the room, eyes puffy and red from crying and embarrassment combined
Izuku immediately goes to your side, not touching you yet because he knows full well what it's like when you lose control of your Quirk and he doesn't want to do anything to set you off
Honestly you don't wanna talk to anyone right now, and just having your two crushes there is a lot
Part of you is happy because it means they clearly care, but another part is scared that you're gonna do something to push them away and mess up your friendship
It takes both you and Izuku off guard when Bakugou steps up and pulls you into a kiss
You moan in surprise, face heating up more then his flames
He pulls away, looking at you, his own face red and burning as he lets you fall back to your knees
Izuku is flabbergasted by what he just saw, and a little angry because Bakugou kissed you first
While he had no idea that you like him, he liked you
Bakugou knew you like him, he wanted to wait, but he was never the most patient guy to begin with or good with comfort so he did the only thing he knew, to distract you
Maybe a kiss was the wrong move, but he didn't know what else to do to comfort you, he's not good with feelings like Izuku
Speaking of him, he now has one hand around your shoulder, staring at Bakugou, protectively curled toward you
You throw your arms around him and bury your head in his uniform, making Bakugou think he really messed up
He starts to walk away when you yell after him and ask him to hug you
You need both of them right now, you want them both with you
The two rivals and friends exchange looks, not sure how to handle this situation but they both know they wanna make you feel better
You feel their warmth, their arms embracing you, Bakugou's lips on your neck
Feeling the urge to make things even you kissed Izuku, much more softly then Bakugou kissed you, waiting for him to press into you
After you calmed down, being kissed by them here and there, your neck, your hands and your wrists too, you wanted to talk to them about what was happening with you
You finally felt confidant enough to confess to them, and really at this point they both already knew but you still wanted to say it, to have closure on that and move on together with them both by your side

“𝐔𝐧𝐫𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐋𝐨𝐯𝐞” -> 𝐈𝐳𝐮𝐤𝐮 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐲𝐚
SUMMARY: “What does she have that i don’t?” you wonder every single night. Out of all the people in your class, why did he choose Uraraka?
NOTE: I'm in the mood for angst if you can't already tell from the summary. Sorry not sorry!
Tumblr media
You don't hate Ochaco Uraraka. You don't have it in you to hate her. The girl is nothing but kind to you, a good friend and classmate to you and to everyone else. The perfect girl who fits in all of the standards. Although she hasn't done anything for you to deslike her, you can't help the nasty glares you throw her way whenever she makes Izuku blush or stutter.
You've known Izuku since you both were babies in diapers. You and Katsuki know him better than anyone else. Everything was perfect between you, until you both became UA students and she came into the picture.
Suddenly, it's like you don't exist anymore. Now, Izuku finally has his own group of friends. You're happy for him of course and he doesn't ignore you but he doesn't spend time with you like he used to and it pains you, especially when he cancels plans with you to hang out with Ochaco and the others.
You know he has a crush on her. He's... or rather was your best friend. He has told you all about it. Even if he hadn't, it's so obvious, even a blind man would notice it.
Unfortunately for you, Ochaco has a crush on him as well. She admitted her feelings to you and to the other girls at a girl's night in the dorms, where you were discussing about the boys in your class. When they asked if you liked someone, you didn't know what to answer.
They are perfect for each other and you hate that with every fiber of your being.
If only he liked you the way you like him... you wouldn't be here right now, dying inside, as you hear him ask her to go on a date with him.

come home
izuku midoriya x fem coded reader
after Izuku leaves UA, you and the rest of your class make the decision to drag him back kicking and screaming if you needed to. you go over the recent events that led you up to that moment in time.
WARNINGS: SPOOIIILLEEERRRS FOR SEASON SIX SO IF YOU HAVENT WATCHED OR READ THE MANGA YOU’VE BEEN WARNED. violence, lots of cussing because of katsuki bakugo being present, extremely unedited and unread, it’s so long I hate it so much but I’m posting it anyways because I’ve been obsessed with this idea. it’s a little angsty I suppose
Tumblr media
“You know he isn’t going to come easily, right?” You mumbled to Bakugo, as you two walked out of the security gate side by side. The rest of your class behind you.
“Yeah yeah, I’ve kicked his ass once, I’ll do it again and drag him back by his stupid hair,” Bakugo tightened his gauntlets before he looked at you, and finally realized how terrified you were, “Hey, this is going to work idiot, we all have things we need to say to him."
You all made your way, following the gps Endeavor had for him. Everyone’s nerves were high, maneuvering through the streets. There was no way you guys were going to fail this mission. Not when it was something this important. For someone this important.
"Over here, I found him."
-----a few days after izuku left UA
"Bakugo she's still HEALING!" You could hear a loud commotion outside of your hotel room. There wasn't much left in you to care though, not when you were rereading the same scribbled out note that was on your bed. It was even right next to your favorite flower.
You have to understand that not telling you about One for All was hard. There were a lot of times that I wanted to turn to you, but I couldn't. Don't be mad at Kacchan for knowing and not saying anything either, I made him swear. I have so much that I want to tell you, but that will have to wait for now. I am sorry I kept this a secret from you of all people.. You almost died, he almost killed you because he gathered what you meant to me. I have to stay away from UA, away from you, to keep you all safe.
I hope you can forgive me..
Izuku.
Your door busted open, Bakugo being held back by Sero and Denki. He looked at you, and then at the paper in your hands.
"Stop crying and get your ass up, we need to figure this out." Bakugo threw a bag with your uniform in it at you. You looked up at him and the other guys and waved them out of the room so you could get dressed.
......
"Todoroki, I might punch your dad," You mumbled, and the taller boy looked down at you while you all waited to corner him in the principal's office.
"You were just released from the hospital after your heart was slightly punctured, I don't think punching the number one hero is in your best interest," Todoroki half-way joked with you, before his tone went serious again, "If you do it though, you'll have my support."
All of you walked into the principal's office, and Endeavor looked shocked at first before he sighed. He almost seemed to just accept the fact the entirety of Class 1-A was standing in front of him. None of you were happy with him. Bakugo explained to him why you guys needed to go, and you backed up his statement. The two of you, and Todoroki staring down the number one hero. Endeavor tried to argue and talk him out of it, but the principal wouldn't budge. Instead he gave you the okay to track down Midoriya, and bring him back.
----------
Your feet ran faster than you should have been able to, considering it wasn't too long ago your heart was in pretty bad shape. None of that mattered though, your best friend was there. He was there and you were close enough to reach him. You could reach him. All of you were in the area soon enough, Todoroki using his ice to subdue the villain Midoriya was fighting even further. Yaoyorozu helping imprison him even longer.
He didn't even look the same anymore, not even just because he hadn't bathed in who knew how long. His usually bright green eyes were dull, and tired now. You didn't know what you wanted to do more, hug him or punch him for leaving you all behind like that. He was looking around slowly, trying to assess the situation. Finally though, his eyes landed on you.
For a moment he looked relieved, but then his face dropped again.
---------------------
Izuku watched in horror as the black and red shards shot out of Shigaraki, but he wasn't aiming for him. No instead they went for their target, you. One went straight through your chest, another hitting your shoulder, another hitting your leg.
You didn't scream, you didn't even panic. Instead your clouded eyes focused on the one thing that always calmed you down. Izuku Midoriya, with his beautiful green hair, and matching green eyes. The boy that felt like spring to you. You wanted him to be the last thing you saw.
Izuku couldn't move as he watched the blood you coughed up trickle out of the corner of your mouth. Your once bright colored suit now soaked red. Before you went limp, before your eyes closed for what Izuku thought was for good, you said something. Izuku couldn't hear it though, because before he could even process what had happened to you, Bakugo was injured just the same.
-----------------------
“I don't understand, why are you here?" He looked everywhere but you, which made you want to punch him even more.
"We were worried about you," You stepped more towards Bakugo, making sure he couldn't just ignore you. Izuku's eyes flickered towards you again. He grabbed his mask and started to stand up.
"That's nice, but I'm fine really, no need for concern," He put his mask back on his face, "So leave."
Bakugo started to clap.
"Oh yeah, great speech! Wasn't that great?" Bakugo looked at you, you knew he was trying to keep you on track, "Just what we wanted from the famous One For All successor! Real talk, are you able to smile right now?"
"In order to smile.. For everyone to live in peace.." He stood up, and maybe you were just trying to convince yourself but you swore you could've felt him looking at you through his mask, "I have to go, I'm sorry."
Izuku got ready to move, and you took in a deep breath. All of your classmates were already prepared for this, for him to go this route. There was no way he was going to let it happen without a fight.
"You're going to have to make us, ya busted-ass All Might wannabe!" Bakugo taunted.
"We had a feeling that's what you were going to say," Iida sighed, "Let's do this class!"
"You're coming home Izuku." You clenched your fists
---------------------------
You knew it was Bakugo when there was one quick knock, followed by your door handle being shaken, and then more knocks coming after. You opened the door and he shoved a costume case at you, followed by a bag of your fixed up support equipment.
"We have his location, we are going to get him now, and you're coming," Bakugo grumbled, and you raised an eyebrow, "Don't give me that stupid face, I know what the principal said about you hanging back, and I don't give a shit,"
"You guys can do this without me," You sighed and turned into your room. Bakugo let out an annoyed sigh, followed by a lot of mumbling that you could only assume would piss you off if he said it out loud.
"Look, just because your heart got a tiny little hole in it, doesn't mean that you're not capable of helping!" Bakugo snapped, and he grabbed your shoulders to turn you towards him, "That damn idiot needs to see you, standing up, walking, and talking, or else all of this goes to shit!"
"I don't understand why I am such a crucial part to this working!" You shouted, the tears stinging your eyes, "I mean it's not like we were that close anymore, not since we started work-studies! You and Todoroki will be there, Iida will be there, everyone else will be there I don't understand why it all falls apart if I don't come!"
"Do I have to spell this shit out for you? You aren't just a friend to him, just like he isn't for you," Bakugo's tone seemed to soften, even if he was still talking at the same obnoxious volume, "Look, we both have shit that we have to say to him, things we have to confess, so get dressed and come the fuck on,"
You blinked a few times, trying to figure out how Bakugo knew about your feelings for your best friend. It wasn't something you had really shared with anyone.
"You knocked out on the battlefield, you didn't see him after we got stabbed, for a second I thought the idiot might actually rip Shigaraki's ass into pieces," Bakugo's voice was finally quieter, "Once he was on the ground, and he was looking at what we all thought was you lyin' there dead, he told you he loved you, that he was in love with you,"
"W-what?"
"That's why I am saying we need you to help us, he needs to see you okay again, and maybe then we will have a better chance to get through to him."
You nodded your head.
Before you lost consciousness after being stabbed, you told Izuku the same thing.
That you loved him.
-------------------
Everyone had been trying to talk to him, but he just kept trying to run. That was until he fell into your trap. Todoroki was the next line of defense after you, but Izuku wasn't showing any sign of moving once he saw you. He actually dropped once he spotted you on the roof. His mask had fallen off and you were finally getting a good look at his face.
"I am trying to protect you, you have to let me go," Izuku's voice cracked a little, but you shook your head and stepped towards him. He didn't run or back away, he stayed still.
"I am so.. so angry with you," You tried your best to keep your temper and your voice even, "Do you remember, a few nights before the battle even happened, when we were sitting in your dorm room?
---------------------
"I'm happy that I've had you for such a long time, you know that?" Izuku's words caught you off guard, both of you turning red, "I just, I mean, because we are best friends and-"
You looked at him, and gave a small smile, "I'm happy that I have you too, Izuku."
Neither one of you could find the right thing to say next. So instead you both just sat on his bed, and changed the subject to other little things going on. There was one difference though, your pinkies stayed right next to each other, just barely overlapping.
-----------------------
"I had so much more that I wanted to say, but I was too scared to," You stepped closer, "But I'm not scared anymore, so Izuku what I really wanted to say that day, what I said to you after Shigaraki-"
"I know, at least I think I do," Izuku whispered, and you stopped, "Which is just another reason why I have to go, I have to get as far away from you as possible, so that he can't use you against me again."
"Do you really think you being gone is going to stop him from targeting the school? From targeting us?!" You finally let the tears come out, "I am so sorry that you had to see that happen to me, I should have moved faster, but if you think you know what I was going to say that day, then you know why I am not giving up until I know you're safe!"
Izuku stepped forward, and pushed your hair off of your forehead. His lips were chapped, but they still felt so soft against your skin. Both of you seemed to be stuck in time like that, his lips just barely kissing your forehead. There was a silent apology in that moment, a silent confession. Before you could reach for his hand and let him know that it was okay, and that you really did feel it too, he was gone. Todoroki's ice wall was the next thing to catch him. The next plan was in motion.
"We are with you! You don't have to face anything alone!" Tsu shouted at him and the ice began to shake. You ran to the edge of the building, and watched.
"Have you considered this might be exactly what All For One wants?!" Todoroki yelled, "He could go after UA while we are distracted here! You've worn yourself out, and you still don't have a lead on the League, so stop this!"
"Izuku you need a new plan!" You shouted, using your quirk to get up onto the ice with Todoroki so he could hear you, "We are more than ready to help you do just that!"
"If you actually want to save our school, then instead of abandoning it, come back and fight for it!" Todoroki held out an arm to protect you from slipping on the ice that was still struggling to hold Izuku, even though Todoroki was forming even more to try and hold him, "Let's stand together and protect UA!"
'"You can't be near me!" Izuku struggled against the ice.'"You can't be near me!" Izuku struggled against the ice.
"You don't get to make that decision for us!" You yelled, grabbing Todoroki's arm to steady yourself, "Izuku please!"
"You could all die! This is a fight that is destined to take place, between One for All and All for One, the rest of you can't keep up!" Izuku finally broke out of the ice, and Todoroki got you two off of the ice. You looked at him defeated but he gave you a firm nod and got ready for the next phase.
Bakugo was helping Iida get to him. Kaminari placed a firm hand on your shoulder. He was trying to reassure you, silently, as you all cheered for Iida. You flinched forward a little bit, your heart still too exhausted to be doing all of this. Sero and Kaminari both helped you back down onto the ground, where Kirishima was trying to catch them.
"Stop trying to run away from us," You stepped away from the other two boys, walking towards Izuku more, "Don't you get it? We aren't giving up on you, we all agree it is time for you to come back,"
"I wish I could, but I.. I am too scared, there are a lot of people that me coming back could cause trouble for," Izuku's voice was cracking. You grabbed Bakugo's shoulder.
"Do it." You whispered.
----------
"When you said that you have things you needed to confess to him, do I have some competition to worry about?" You opened the door, and Bakugo scoffed before he shook his head.
"No, dumbass, I just owe the idiot an apology," He mumbled, his eyes avoiding your own wide ones, "I owe you one too, but you're going to have to wait,"
"Awe Kacchan, I always knew you were still our friiieennnddd." You teased, trying to lighten both of your moods. The three of you grew up together, and although Bakugo didn't shove you as far away as he did Izuku.. He still distanced himself enough from you.
-----------
The crowd reacted the way you had all expected them too. Izuku had tried to sneak off, but you grabbed his hand. The two of you looked at one another, but he stayed silent. He squeezed your hand slightly. Uraraka was the one to try and take a stand though, floating above the crowd while she defended why he needed to be there. You only let him go when Kota broke through the crowd, running for the boy who once saved him. You stepped back, standing by Bakugo as you watched the crowd change their minds.
"You still need to tell him y'know?" Bakugo muttered, nudging you slightly, "If I could apologize to Izuku in front of our entire class, you can tell him you love him, let it be in private later, but you have to do it,"
"I will, but first he needs to rest, plus Denki was right he needs to take a damn bath."
The boys took charge of making sure that Izuku got a bath. Judging by all of the noise, you could only assume it was going well. You got out of a quick shower, and made your way back to your room. The boys were going to be there awhile, and you were sure that it wouldn't be the right time to have that conversation now. You opened your door though, and let out a scream at the fact there was already another person standing in there.
"I'M SORRY KACCHAN MADE ME COME UP HERE AND WAIT I THOUGHT YOU KNEW!" Izuku's hands frantically waved around as he rushed forward to apologize.
"That idiot really needs to understand that it was more than just a tiny hole," You mumbled, rubbing your chest, "Zuku stop saying you're sorry, it is okay, I just wasn't expecting you, I thought you were still in the bath,"
"Some of the guys still are," Izuku's eyes were focused on where the scar was just barely showing out of your tank top. You closed your door, and grabbed his hand. You were certain he stopped breathing when you put his hand against the left side of your chest.
"It wasn't your fault that I got hurt, I was trying to help you, I knew the risk," You whispered, holding his hand against your heartbeat, "He managed to hit right beside my heart, so it wasn't punctured all the way through, but there was a lot of bleeding, the medics fixed it though,"
Izuku's eyes filled with tears again, as he stared at where his hand was resting. You only moved his hand, so you could hug him. You wrapped your arms around his torso, and pressed your face into his chest. His arms wrapped back around you, his face pressing into your hair. The two of you stood there like that, crying with each other. Taking in the fact that you were both okay, you were both alive.
"I couldn't hear you that day, when you told me, it wasn't until a couple days ago when the moment replayed in my head that I realized what you said," Izuku pulled back, and pulled you back too, "I came to see you before I left, you were asleep, all hooked up to machines and out of surgery for them to fix what quirks couldn't, they said that they were just waiting for you to wake up but that they didn't know when that was going to happen.."
"I didn't until a few days after you left, then I found your note and," You trailed off before you took a deep breath, "Izuku, there is so much happening right now, and I know that everything is a little tense and scary, so maybe it isn't the right time but we both know that there is a lot we need to lay out for each other, so can we just.."
"I love you," You could barely hear him, but he said it first, "You're right, things are tense and scary, we don't know much for certain, but I know how I feel about you, and I can't let myself be scared about that anymore, but before this can be anything I.. I mean we have to defeat All for One, and I would like to do that with you by my side.."
Both of you were still crying, but you knew it wasn't just guilt or sadness anymore. They were happy tears too. You were both convinced the other was in danger, and for the first time in weeks you both felt at ease. Just standing with each other, holding onto each other. Izuku’s feelings finally out on the table. No more ‘I have so much to say’, no more beating around the bush. He loved you, in the same way you loved him. So even though you knew he was right, and it wasn’t the time or place for you both to cross that line between friends and lovers..
"I love you, so much, I have for awhile now before you had One for All, before you were this big hero with the fate of the world on his shoulders," You put your hands on his chest, "So now it’s time for you to share that burden, with me, with everybody here, because we are in this together Izuku Midoriya,”
Originally you were just going to kiss his cheek, but he grabbed your face and kissed you. Both of your cheeks were still wet with tears, but you didn’t care. His lips were still chapped, but you didn’t care. It was a quick moment, maybe not even the most romantic, but you didn’t care. His hands stayed on your face, and you both kept eye contact.
“When this is all over, I owe you a date.” Izuku whispered, and you agreed.
The two of you walked down to join everyone else in the common room. Bakugo was glaring at you, waiting for confirmation, and took it as a sign when you held up your middle finger at him discreetly. There was also the fact Izuku hadn’t let go of your hand as he talked to everyone else. After you got to scold All Might for letting Izuku do this.. You and Izuku eventually ended up falling asleep together on the couch. His head resting against your chest, instantly soothed by the sound of your heartbeat. Your hand was in his hair, still gently playing with it before you slipped into an even deeper sleep.
“Should we move them to their beds?” Kirishima looked at the two of you tangled together on the couch. Todoroki shook his head, and put a blanket over you both.
“Nah, they’re not letting each other go anytime soon.” Bakugo defended you two, and he even took it upon himself to sleep on the other couch.. Just in case of course.

“You need to stop being so reckless. Next time I see you, you’ll be missing an arm.”
Izuku smiles, a small wry curve of his lips. A line of blood tracks straight down his forehead from a sizeable scrape where he’d been tossed face-first into a concrete wall by a villain. Crimson splatters with ashy dirt on his hero suit to form an ugly image of his night. A single look to his torso had given you more details than he’d told you. His expression scrunches into a wince at the sting of alcohol on his head wound. You feel no regret for dabbing the cotton pad slightly harder than necessary.
“And don’t bother apologizing,” you grumble under your breath, “You never mean it.”
You’re somewhat gratified to see that he appears a little sheepish from your words, at least.
“I am sorry for coming to you like this,” he murmurs gently, dark viridian eyes studying your features.
Your hand falters in its motions for a second. Sorry for waking you up late again, is what he means. Sorry for worrying you, sorry for letting you care for me. He’ll never apologize for his job, though. He’ll never be sorry for saving lives.
Touch easing up a little, you sigh and use your other hand to gently hold his jaw and tilt his head up. You aren’t sure what he sees in your face, but it makes his gaze soften and eyebrows furrow a little. He opens his mouth to say something, but you cut him off.
“Don’t,” you reply quietly. “Don’t apologize for needing me.”
He huffs a crude chuckle, slightly uncharacteristically mocking, “I pay a professional doctor with a healing quirk at my agency to do exactly this,” your eyes narrow, ready to snap back about wasting his time with an inexperienced nurse when he continues. “I came here ‘cause I wanted to see you.”
That stumps you silent. Your fingers twitch around the cotton they hold up, unmoving. Your eyes stay firmly on the broken skin, refusing to discover what expression he’s giving you. Throat dry, heart pounding almost painfully against your chest, you force the next words out into the air,
“Good… Don’t go anywhere else.”
He exhales a light breath through his nose. Stiffly, you remove the pad, now soaked through with blood, and throw it into the garbage can next to you. You rip open a new one to replace it. As you bring it back to his forehead, your eyes unintentionally pass over the rest of his features, where they freeze, captivated by the gaze he’s set on you.
When Izuku had trudged apologetically through your front door at half past two in the morning, you’d immediately taken him in by the bruised arm and trotted to your bathroom, pointing at the closed toilet seat with a clenched jaw. Obediently, he’d sat and you’d begun your work standing over him.
Despite this position, however, you barely tower over him as much as you might have liked. Though he’s sitting down, Izuku is still ridiculously big. Physically, his body is dense, compact with firm muscles and strong bones so that he’s always somehow still larger than you. This is only emphasized by the self-assured, unwavering presence he’s learned to carry with him throughout the years, his innate intensity filling out all the lingering space between you and crowding the air in your lungs.
This same intensity shines in the look he fixes on you, like he’s trying to sink into your thoughts to figure out what those words really mean. Like maybe, if he could peer into your mind, he’d finally be able to understand why every encounter with you feels as intimate as it does.
The air around you seems to hold its breath, afraid to exhale in fear of shattering this moment, one as sacred as the hush of a crowd contemplating their prayers. Without realizing, your eyes had dropped down to his mouth, the bottom lip swelling purple and red, pleading to be further bruised. The second you register his tongue flicking out to lick them, you snap your eyes back to Izuku’s. Your mouth dries at how low his gaze has dropped, too.
An eternity passes where none of you do a single thing. Slowly, naturally, you drift closer, heads tilting like two magnets split off a whole piece coming together again. His breath wafts warmly over your face, and even beneath your bathroom's shitty fluorescent lights, his eyes seem to glitter impossibly brighter at the proximity. Your nose brushes lightly against his, mind intoxicated with the heady, earthy scent of him surrounding your senses. It clouds your every thought, until your eyes are sliding shut and you’re closing the final centimeter between you—
And his phone rings.
The shrill noise startles you both apart. Your breathing picks up at the shock of being seized back into the present, away from this isolated space in time you had crafted for yourselves. In the cramped space of your bathroom, the ringing should be deafening to your ears, but the sudden blood rushing through your head overcomes its disdainful shrieks. You lower your head in a flimsy attempt to hide the embarrassment spreading through your cheeks, busying yourself with the first aid kit and forbidding yourself from even glancing at him. You have no idea what he's doing or how he looks, but the hard weight of his stare and the continuous ringing begin to make your hands clammy.
You’re desperately trying to get your breathing under control when  you finally see his hands move in your periphery. Calloused fingers slip into his pocket for a moment before reappearing with a phone. He taps the screen and clears his throat.
"Hello?" His voice is rough, blunt edges of restraint scraping pleasantly against your ears, "Yeah, it's all good. I'll be back soon," a pause. "Yeah, I'm fine, I'm just… doing a quick round over the surrounding neighborhoods, making sure everything's quiet," another pause, then he laughs, a weak and strained thing. "Yeah, yeah, it is, so no need to worry about me. I'm not number one for nothing."
The words make you swallow dryly around the lump in your throat, fingers tightening their hold on the bandage in your hands. They're a reminder for what you'd almost stupidly forgotten: he is the number one hero. Before he is his, before he is yours, he is a hero that belongs to the public. It’s not a reality that could change simply because you wish it to, because more than Izuku may desire you, he needs to be the one to keep this country safe. He’ll wear himself down to the bone doing what’s been instilled in him to do since childhood, and has become intrinsic to who he is.
You can't allow yourself to long for him, not when you'd only receive the leftovers of himself that the people don’t want.
A few more things are said before he's murmuring his goodbyes. The call ends with a simple tap to his screen. Silence fills the air once more, frigid and still.
Then, he softly calls your name.
"Can… can we talk? Please? I—"
"There's nothing to talk about." Your voice strikes the air like a judge's gavel; rigid, resounding, final. With wooden movements, you apply the bandage on the cleaned wound and don’t bother giving him your usual double check to make sure everything has been tended to. You turn away and begin putting everything back in the kit.
"You're all done. I have to be at the hospital at six tomorrow." Please leave, please don't make this harder than it needs to be.
And maybe he thinks that this conversation would be better had another time, when you're both not carrying the weight of your exhaustion and the implications of what had almost occurred. Or maybe he's also realized what you'd foolishly forgotten earlier; that a relationship with half of a man is hardly a relationship at all. Whatever the reason, it renders him quiet and yielding. He gets up as you take your time putting everything away, and treads slowly towards the open bathroom door. He pauses beneath the arch, and you squeeze your eyes shut like a child trying to hide from the seeker in front of them.
A beat passes, then, softly, "Sleep well, Y/N."
Faint stars begin to twinkle in the artificial darkness you've created for yourself. Your ears strain to hear the final footfall of Izuku stepping out and the low echo of your front door falling shut. A shaky exhale pushes itself out of your chest. For minutes, you don't open your eyes, frightened of the reality that might stare back at you in the mirror.
You can't allow yourself to love a man that barely belongs to himself.

Alternative ending
Part two

Thank you and enjoy. NOT PROOFREAD. I apologize for the mistakes. Do not repost anywhere, I do not mind reblogging, please and thank you. tw !! : angst, crying, rejection.
Summary:
Izuku has liked you for years, he understands the fact that he’s your best friend and he wouldn’t do anything to ruin that but he just can’t hold his feelings in any longer. Will you accept his feelings or will you shatter his heart? There’s only one way to find out.
Sitting on his bed, Izuku always wondered what was so great about you. Was it the way you style your hair?
Maybe it was the way you walked around the world like you owned it and nobody, and I mean nobody, could tell you otherwise.
Or maybe it was the way you actually gave a shit about him.
You don’t care about how powerful his quirk is.
You’ll still challenge him head on and shit, maybe sometimes you will lose. Other times, you’ve managed to outsmart the boy
‘How do I get rid of this feeling in my chest’ Izuku thinks to himself
‘You tell them.’
Another voice other than his own responds to him.
‘That’s it! I’ll tell them.’
He’s constructed a plan to tell you everything.
Was it better in his head?
It’s 2pm on a Friday. Training took up a lot of the day but for some reason, the UA students had nothing to do now but relax.
“I’ll make my move now,” Izuku whispers to himself.
“Uhh. What move?” Y/N asks in a whisper as well, startling poor Izuku and having him jump back.
“Oh! Uh nothing! I’m just thinking of ways to study better…! Heh.” He responds in a panic, receiving a ‘I totally believe you’ look from you.
“Sureeee. And I’m Batman.” You respond in a very sarcastic tone. The one Izuku loves to hear, it makes his heart skip a beat.
“But um, Y/N?” “That's my name, ‘Zuku.”
“Can I talk to you for a moment? In private? Please?”
Y/N stares at the boy for a moment before giving him a silent nod.
Izuku wastes no time, grabbing Y/N by his wrist and heading outside of the UA building, he receives weird stares from people he passes but he’s too focused on making sure his heart doesn’t jump out of his chest.
When they’re outside, Izuku finds a tree under the shade, he’s breathing heavily and he’s visibly shaking.
He lets go of Y/N’s wrist and takes a deep breath.
“What’s up, bro?”
God that word brings so much pain.
“Well um… Y/N I’ve liked you for so long and no matter what happened, you were always right there. You made me feel like the best person to ever walk the earth and-“
Izuku is too busy talking to notice your wide eyes and how you look almost…disappointed?
“I wanna cherish you forever. I wanna give you the love that no guy ever will. I wanna be the one you come home to. The one who holds you at night when you don’t feel well. I wanna have arguments and the times we forgive each other. I want to have those late night talks with each other about nothing and make it into something, all I wanna say is I love y-!”
“Let me stop you there.” You interrupted his sentence and he takes a look at you finally.
Did you always look this aggravated?
“I’m sorry but you’re only my friend. For fucks sake, I call you my little brother to my friends and family.” Y/N’s tone is no longer warm but cold.
Izuku’s heart. Shattered into two.
‘Don’t cry. Don’t cry. Don’t cry.’ He repeats in his head over and over, drowning out your voice. He cannot bear the rejection, even though he knew it may come.
He runs off in a flash, not wanting to hear it. The last thing he heard from you clearly was you yelling his name.
Izuku is now in his room. Pillow in his chest and crying.
“H-how could I be so stupid..?” He cries into his pillow.
‘How could he ever love me..?’

Izuku Midoriya x fem!reader
Genre: hurt/comfort, fluff
Warnings: strong language, bit of angst but don't worry about it, probably so many grammatical mistakes, too many mentions of the movie Up
A/N: just a little something I thought of about Izuku.
M.list
"IZUKU ITS STARTING"
"I'm coming, i'm coming"
"How many times have we watched this again?" Izuku smiled putting the snacks down at the foot of the bed.
"Give or take 25 times" grinning, you snuggled up to Izuku's side. "I mean, it is a really good movie"
"True" smiling softly, Izuku dimmed the lights as the soundtrack began.
_________________________________
"So I was thinking.....if you're free, would you wanna like go an a date this week?" Izuku fidgeted nervously with his tie, looking at his girlfriend in her vanity doing her makeup.
"Thats sudden" raising an eyebrow at him, you met his eyes in the mirror. Smirking at him, teased "Did you do something?"
Shaking his head, Izuku chuckled "No, we just haven't went on a date in a while, you know?"
Humming in agreement, you got up to smoothen your dress "That is true, a date would be nice" shooting Izuku a smile "Saturday?"
"Saturday it is."
"Great!" Glancing at the clock on the wall, you hastily grabbed your purse, taking Izuku's hand "come on, we're gonna be late to the gala"
"Shit, Kacchan's gonna kill me"
_____________________________
"Why the fuck is this so sad?! It only just started...." blowing your nose on another tissue, you cuddled more into Izuku.
"I don't wanna say it but...I told you so" pressing a kiss to your temple, Izuku softly smiled "we could watch another movie?"
Shooting up, gasping dramatically with a hint of smile on your lips "Izuku Midoriya, how dare you suggest something like that? We are watching Up even if it means finishing every tissue box in the house."
The green haired rolled his eyes a little, smilling "whatever you wish babe."
Of course, they ended up watching it twice. Not that Izuku was complaining.
_______________________________
"Stop being so fucking nervous you damn nerd"
"Huh?" Breaking out of his trance, Izuku glanced at the blonde across him "right s-sorry, I just- what if she says no?"
"Hey man you'll be fine, don't stress about it too much" Kirishima gave him a toothy grin.
As calm as ever, Shoto spoke up "he's right, just relax and i'm sure you're worrying about no reason" giving Izuku a small smile, he continued "everything will turn out fine"
"Y-yeah you're probably right" gulping nervously, Izuku stood up to leave "see you guys later".
"Nervous ass bitch" Bakugou grumbled once Izuku left.
"Hey man! Don't be mean"
"Tch whatever"
As Bakugou continued cursing people out, with Kirishima exclaiming it wasn't manly, Izuku finally stepped up the courage to enter the house to get ready for his date with his love.
_______________________________
Halfway throughout the movie, shooting up, you gasped looking down at Izuku with a smile " YOU'RE MY CARL"
With confused brows, Izuku slightly smiled "what?"
"Like in the movie, they are so in love and everything and I love you so you're my Carl"
A blush creeping up on his cheeks Izuku smiled, "and you're my Ellie"
You smiled softly, "I guess...that does make me Ellie huh?"

"Oooh fancy~" squeezing Izuku's hand as they entered the restaurant, you smiled up at Izuku, admiring the place.
"I got us rooftop tables" Izuku smiled, scratching the back of his neck "I thought you would like them"
Now making their way up to their tables, you gasped " IZUKU", pecking him on the cheek, exclaimed "thats so amazing thanks"
"Anything for you love"
__________________________
The clock's ticking in the dark silence was starting to get to you now. The noise of the news playing on the TV, nothing but a mess of muttered words falling in your ears as your blurry eyes focused on Izuku's face on the screen.
"It was supposed to be movie night" whispering softly to no one in particular in the loud silence, you tried to focus back to what the news reporter was saying, only making out the words "pro hero Deku" "villain" "fight" and the phrase that you hated "nowhere to be seen" .
A few tears escaped as you glanced at the snacks and movie CDs, once neatly placed on the table waiting for his arrival, now strewn across the floor.
Is this what its going to be like? Quiet nights with you worrying if your lover is going to come home or not?
You loved Izuku Midoriya. With everything in the world, but this....it was becoming too much. You wouldn't leave him, no you couldn't imagine letting him go but-
The spiralling down of your thoughts was suddenly interrupted by the creak of your front door, followed by the sound of it closing, heavy footsteps making their way to the living room, where you were.
It broke Izuku.
It broke him, felt as if someone had ripped out his heart, everytime he came back in the dead of the night to you staying awake for him, worrying over his life.
It pained him to see you like this.
But the moment you got up, wrapping your arms around him, sobbing and mumbling to never worry you like that ever again. When he wraps his arms around you too, holding on to you for dear life, he knows that he's home.
And for you, it happens a little later.
As you both sit on the couch in the dark, the movie Up playing on the TV, its faint light casting a glow on Izuku's freckled face , you know that you might never be sure when its going to be your last moment with him, you know that you'll never know when its going to be your last goodbye as he leaves for his work.
But in this moment, with you two wrapped up in each other's arms, you know that this is enough.
"These heels are going to be the death of me"
Groaning, you pulled off your shoes as soon as you stepped back in your home from your date night.
Humming mindlessly to your statement, Izuku stood behind you, fiddling with the ring in his pocket.
"Tell me why did I even buy the- I-izuku?"
"Y/N I- " now on his knee, Izuku cleared his throat nervously before pulling out the ring that been sitting all night in his pocket. " I love you, I love you more than anything in the world. I know that I constantly worry you by risking my life and yet you stay. You stay with me, and when you do I love every single moment of my day. Cooking with you, doing the laundry with you and watching Up for the 300th time" chuckling, Izuku tried to keep his tears in bay " I love you Y/N L/N.."
"Will you be my Ellie?"
And in that moment, you knew you were home.

he was midnight rain, I was sunshine
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You fell head over heels for Izuku a little too hard, then you'd like to admit.
And now it hurts- it fucking hurts when he's not the same person as he used to be.
Not the Izuku you once knew, he's now a Pro Hero or should you say, Deku? Justice above all, people before all.
It has always been his nature, you know that well enough too. In fact that might be the thing which pulled you towards him more, the fact that he wanted to get people justice. And had a spine for that too.
...but now?
You clutched his hoodie as you sat, tears threatening to spill, not that you cared. It didn't matter anymore.
It was not like you didn't want him to be the Symbol of Peace, it was not like you didn't want him to be a Pro Hero.
The one thing that you ever wanted was to have him with you. To love you.
And you do know, that your quirks are not match with his, that you didn't write any history. That you'd always be a minor Hero, nothing more but it hurts.
It made you wonder, that was it the same Izuku that you loved? He was the role model of every child, a hero that a person admires so much.
But he also didn't reply to any of your calls, to any of your texts. The replies were always late, with some excuse or the other. And that made you wonder, did he even love you?
And you never really cared about it at all. But now you couldn't help but stare at the texts both of you shared, the tick marks on the texts but never really answering them.
It has been some time, hasn't it?

The main (3) class 1 a boys with a S/O who hates their scars
Will do a part 2 later if you want for the other boys
(Gender neutral/ Fem? Reader)
A/N
-This is how I think the main boys of Class 1a would react to a S/O who hates their scars. (Not specified what scars are from or where they are, though some examples are given.)
Warnings: Scars, Hurt & Comfort, self deprecating thoughts, cussing, mentions of abuse, mentions of self harm, these are kind of short.
💔❤️ (small a/n, I actually suffered with Sh for a long time and I have lots of scars scattering my body because of it. If you have been through self harm or even abuse of any forms I’m so proud of you. Stay safe <3 and if you continue to suffer with abuse or self harm please get help. You are loved and we all want you to be safe. )
Now playing—————————————>Running up that hill -Kate Bush
Katsuki Bakugou
Tumblr media
He’s very confused at first.
He thinks your scars are bad ass. No matter what they are from. He doesn’t care. He thinks scars show, in a sense, that you’ve won against your enemies.
If the scars have a deep meaning (ex: self harm, abuse, etc.) he’ll comfort you and remind you that it’s in the past.
It’s not your fault for what you went through. He helps you recover as a person, and encourages you to embrace the parts of you that you can’t change.
The past that you can’t get rid of. He wants you to just accept it.
And he helps you reach that point with lots of reassurance and affection.
Lots of cuddles.
If he ever sees you eyeing a scar for a little bit longer than you should he makes sure to trace it with his fingers while you’re cuddling, and makes sure you know how much he loves your scars.
Even if you don’t. He does. He loves them. Your scars make you, you. And he loves you.
He cares about you so much, and seeing you bring yourself down hurts his heart. (Not that he’d ever tell you though.)
Izuku Midoriya
Tumblr media
His initial reaction would be concern.
He saw you crying while looking at your scars.
Cuddles you and traces your scars with his fingers.
His concern turned into confusion. How could you hate something that’s a part of you?
He can sort of relate since he has lots of scars on his hand, and he often feels bad about them.
But you were perfect in his eyes. Including your scars.
No matter if they were from falling and cutting yourself, or self inflicted scars, or scars from injuries others gave you. (Purposefully or not, doesn’t matter.)
He loves you and he wants to make sure you knew that.
He asks you why you hate your scars.
If you say they’re ugly, he makes sure to remind you every day how beautiful your scars were.
If you say they bring back horrid memories, he makes sure to remind you that your past does not define you as a person, the present, or the future. It has no hold over who you are or who you are going to be.
Overall he just wants to make sure you know how loved and appreciated you are, scars or no scars.
Shoto Todoroki
Tumblr media
Since he has a scar of his own, he understands where you’re coming from.
It’s something he struggled with for a long time. (And sometimes still continues to struggle with.)
If the scar is from you falling or accidentally hurting yourself, you feel stupid for hating it because it really isn’t that ‘big of a deal.’
You think you shouldn’t be complaining over such a small thing while Todoroki has a huge scar on his eye from someone he trusted. (Aka, his mother.)
He makes sure you know everyone has their own reasons for self deprecation (not that it’s a good thing tho) and you should never feel ashamed for having feelings.
If your scar is from self harm, he makes sure you know how strong you are. He reminds you every day that you’re a survivor and you’re so strong for that. He tells you daily that he’s not disgusted or weirded out by your self harm scars. (If you have sh scars there’s always that one person who thinks it’s gross for whatever reason.)
He also lets you know he doesn’t think it was for attention. He knows you were truly and sincerely struggling at some point of time and turning to the blade was the only thing you thought you could do.
If they are from abuse he tells you how strong you are for putting up with that and going through that. He tells you your scars are just battle wounds, and helps you look at those scars in a positive light.
He relates to you, since he has scars from abuse of his own.
He loves you so much and just wants to make sure you know how much he cares about you.
His face may not show many emotions, but his heart is full of them exclusively for you.
Bonus; Todoroki definitely kisses your scars all the time. Even when you’re sleeping.

Cheating DILF Izuku
Husband Midoriya Izuku x Wifey Reader
Tumblr media
Note: This is just an angst story. IT IS NOT CONFIRMED PART OF MY STORY. It is not CANON. Izuku would NEVER cheat but if he did... it would be like this. I wrote this just to watch people cry.
Warning: Child loss, grief, Infidelity, Absent parenting,
You felt him shift behind you as his alarm rang. It was early in the morning and yet you couldn’t find it in yourself to get up and out of bed yet. There was a whole ocean of space between you and your husband. A gap that had not been crossed or touched in over six months. It felt so cold to even try and move from your side of the bed because you knew that the person you were reaching out to was just as cold and if not, colder.
You heard your husband get out of bed and move towards the bathroom to get ready for work. There was no more slow morning sex, or waking up in his arms or to kisses. Anything and everything was work or the kids. That was all it seemed your marriage became in the span of six months.
You let out a heavy breath as you slowly sat up in bed. You looked to the right over to the family photo on your side table. You, your loving husband and your five boys. Something that seemed so far away despite the portraits having been taken just a year ago.
You got up out of bed and moved to go wake up the boys. You knocked on each of their doors, making sure they would be awake to get to school. You moved to your youngest’s bedroom. The four-year-old was still very much asleep which you were glad for. You moved over to where he was asleep in bed, his eyes closed. You gave a sad smile, but you were glad he was so blissfully unaware of everything else.
You moved to head downstairs, getting bento boxes ready and also breakfast. It was the same routine but something was always different which you couldn’t help but be grateful for.
Just as you fried the eggs, your oldest sons came downstairs.
“Morning mom!” Asahi greeted as he moved to quickly kiss your cheek and immediately went to grab plates to set the table. You smiled at your eleven year old son, already dressed in his gakuran.
“Morning ma!” Another kiss went to your cheek as Hero, your seven year old came and passed by, grabbing cutlery to put at the table, seemingly already in conversation with Asahi. You smiled over at him.
Finally walking over to you, in not as much as a rush than his younger brothers was Toshinori, your eldest. He gave your shoulders a squeeze and a kiss to your cheek. “Good morning, ma.” He easily picked up on tending to the other frying pan, grabbing his apron with one hand so that he could help you. He did it without being told and yet you always felt so grateful for his help. He looked at you with kind eyes and curly green hair. “Did you sleep well? How are you feeling?” He asked.
You smiled over at him, so grateful you had such an attentive eldest son. “I slept fine, thank you Toshi. I hope you slept well too.” You wished as you turned off the stove you were working at and turned to finish your husband’s bento box.
“I slept well.” He told you sweetly. “Did… did any email or mail come in yet?” he asked.
You turned to Toshinori with a smile. He had been eagerly awaiting a letter from UA. You were just grateful that with everything that happened the last six months, your son managed to still train and go to the physical exam to enter UA High School. Although you were pretty sure it was a guarantee that he would enter the school, considering he had your husband’s quirk due to him being born quirkless too, Toshinori wanted a fair and equal trial just like everyone else. He wanted to be deserving of it and in every way he was.
You turned to him shoving him gently. “Hey…” he turned to you with slightly anxious eyes. You took a deep breath and he mimicked you. You took a second before you both breathed out. You smiled. “Everything is going to be fine. I told you, you’ll be the first one to read it the moment I get it.” You promised him. He nodded his head with a smile. He opened his mouth to speak but the heavy sound of footsteps interrupted him as finally your husband descended from downstairs.
“Morning dad!”
“Morning kiddos.” Your husband let out, his voice less chirpy than it was six months ago. Midoriya Izuku walked over to where you were in the kitchen, automatically grabbing a flask of hot made coffee that you had made for him. He was in his own world again. His eyes distant but his actions were trained. The autopilot you had all been on, kicking in.
You knew you wouldn’t receive a good morning from him.
You barely got him to notice you half the time now.
You cleared your throat as you closed his bento and packed it away. “Izuku, remember Asahi’s science project at school. The viewing is at two.” You reminded him as you grabbed a can of soda and placed it with the rest of his lunch that you packed.
“Y/N, you know I can’t make it.” You heard him talk as he grabbed an apple as makeshift breakfast, not bothering to have breakfast with any of you anymore.
You looked at him with a pained expression. “Izuku, you promised you would go.”
You heard a sigh come out of him as he grabbed his bag and finally looked at you, stopping for five seconds. Your large husband felt so far away from you despite not being more than three steps away from you. “Y/N, I’m the Number One hero of this country. I don’t have time to always go to every recital and function.” He reminded you.
You felt annoyance bubble up inside you as your eyebrows furrowed. Your grip on your apron tightened as you looked up at him. That was always his excuse nowadays. “Izuku, you have been so busy with work lately. It would mean the world to him if you showed up. He’s been getting into arguments at schoo-”
“Y/N, I have a meeting in less than an hour.” He dismissed as he started to turn to leave the kitchen. “I’m sorry. I promise I’ll try make it if I get time.” He waved it off as he headed towards the entrance hallway, leaving you and the boys alone once again.
You bit back the emotions of annoyance and disappointment as you let out a sigh and turned to do something else, ignoring the boys and their silence as they watched. That’s how mornings were like now. Either Izuku buzzing by too fast to even get more than a sentence out of him before he’s out the door, or he’s never there entirely.
It had been like this ever since your second youngest, Shoyo had passed away.
A villain had attacked his primary school as revenge against heroes including your husband. Your little boy had sacrificed himself along with Hanta and Mina’s youngest child, Sero Kimiko. It was a dark day in your group of friends to lose two six year olds, innocent and pure. It was a horrible incident, an even more horrible case. Your husband and other heroes were on the scene one minute too late.
It was a horrible time for all of you. You barely could call yourself a human after the funeral and even during the hearing of state vs the class A villain, Jigsaw. You don’t remember most of it, all you knew was that you didn’t even get to see your little boy’s body one final time before cremation, because there simply wasn’t anything to hold.
You couldn’t imagine the horrific sight your husband saw that day, but he only truly began to change once the court ruling had happened and Jigsaw was sentenced to the death penalty. Your husband had moved further and further away from you, almost as if being near you and the boys was torture.
You couldn’t understand it at all, but you always made excuses for him. Even when it was Toshinori’s fifteenth birthday and Izuku wasn’t there. You told your son everything under the moon to make him understand, and he did. Because he loved his father that much. But there was only so many excuses you could give for so long.
With all the kids at school and you having taken Koda to kindergarten, leaving you alone for a few hours, you decided to clean Izuku’s study. The grand room was filled with papers and books, his laptop monitors all on from the long night he spent in here after coming home from patrol. You didn’t even know how he kept on moving when it seemed like he barely slept in your own bed. You didn’t question the times he wouldn’t come home for days on end, always saying he spent his nights at the office.
You ignored the smell of perfume on his hero suits too.
You walked into the room, moving to clear his desk and the multiple mugs of empty coffee. You moved to clear all the clutter, moving classified documents into a pile where he could find them all. He worked hard, it was something you always admired about him. It was the reason why the crime rate had more than halved in the last six months.
You heard a message pop up on his monitor. He had long time connected his phone to his computer, he said it made it easier to access things sometimes. Izuku also had a habit of leaving things on when he wanted to get back to it but always getting so whirled up in his head that he never did get back to them sometimes.
You made the ugly mistake of looking up at the monitor, your eyes reading before you could stop yourself.
You didn’t move.
You didn’t breathe.
You watched as message after message popped up.
Suddenly it felt as if your entire world had fallen underneath your feet.
Izuku dragged a hand through his hair as he came in through the door. It was past eight and no doubt, dinner had already been eaten in the Midoriya household. He had gotten so caught up in work and other matters that time just washed by. But that’s just how time seemed to pass ever since…
His eyes automatically went to the photo in the entranceway that sat beside a candle that was always lit no matter the time of day. A photo of a little boy, not older than six, with the brightest green eyes and the biggest smile. Hair so big and curly it almost swallowed him up whole. Inko had told Izuku when Shoyo was born, that he looked the most like him out of every single one of the boys, with the same sparkle in his eyes and smile that reached the stars.
Looking at him now only made Izuku feel nothing but never-ending guilt.
Taking off his shoes, Izuku got into the house. It was that soft time when homework was either being done or the boys got to destress before their busy days tomorrow.
“Dad!” Izuku turned to see his eldest. Toshinori had his hands in his pockets as he walked over to his father. Every day it seemed like the boy was getting taller, although he still hadn’t hit that particular growth spurt. He’d probably get it in second year of high school, like Izuku had. Toshinori seemed a bit apprehensive, knowing how his father seemed much more rougher than he was before. But he couldn’t blame him. Something in all of them changed six months ago. “Evening.” He nodded his head.
It took Izuku a second before mustering up a smile. “Toshi, how was school?”
Toshinori gave a look of surprise which hurt Izuku. How long had it been since he asked his son that question? “G-good!” He let out with a smile, so excited that his father asked. “It was great! Yah, Kane and I got moved into the first team for rugby! Coach said I could really get better as long as…” A soft blush went to his face as he scratched the back of his head. “As long as I learn to stop accidentally activating One for All when I get too worked up.”
Izuku let out an amused scoff but put a hand to Toshinori’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. I struggled with that too even now. Just practise what I’ve already taught you and find a way to box it whenever you’re playing.” He advised. Toshinori perked up, his eyes as bright as stars as he smiled, glad to receive something from his father today. When last had he checked up on Toshinori and his use of One for All? Izuku felt sick at the thought. Izuku looked up to the empty kitchen. “Where’s mom?”
“Oh! She told me to tell you to meet her in your room. She said she had to talk to you about something. I’m not sure what.” He shrugged. “Must have to do with Asahi’s fight.”
Izuku nearly had whiplash as he turned to look back at Toshinori. “Fight? What fight?”
“Asahi got into another fight at school during the showcase. Didn’t tell me what about though.” Toshinori shrugged, but underlying worry in his demeanour.
Another?
Was this a frequent thing? Since when?
Izuku opened his mouth to speak but Toshinori beat him to it. “He’s been in his room since after dinner.”
Izuku nodded. “Thanks Toshi.” He turned to head straight upstairs. Izuku moved immediately straight into his mind at all this news. Fights? Since when did his eleven year old get into fights? Why wasn’t he told? Izuku was confused as he opened the door to your shared bedroom. He needed a shower and preferably a long night’s rest, but first he had to get down to this issue on Asahi. Your husband stepped into your bedroom. “Y/N, what is this I’m hearing about Asahi-”
“Close the door.” The tone in your voice had the green haired Number One hero freezing. It was eerily calm. It was horrifying because the only times you ever spoke like that was when you were angry. His eyebrows twitched as he looked to you as you sat on the other side of the master bedroom. The fire place in your bedroom was lit, which confused him because he didn’t think it all that cold to light a fire. Your eyes remained forward, your back towards him as you stood in the otherwise dark room. “Close the door, Midoriya.”
“Midoriya?” Izuku was confused. You hadn’t called him that since before you started dating, since third year of UA actually. It was an odd thing to hear come out of your lips, especially since you were Midoriya too. Izuku’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion as he stepped forward. “Y/N, what’s going-”
“Close the door.” This time you said it a bit more firmly, but you were careful not to shout considering your door was still open.
Izuku complied, closing the door behind him, because like everyone in your family, there were rules to your household. One rule was that only under emergency circumstances was your bedroom door to be opened without knocking or permission from the both of you. Another was that your bedroom was the one neutral place where you could both talk to one another openly and freely without worry of the kids and having to be mindful parents.
Or at least it used to be.
The room was silent and tensely so. You looked down at the fire the entire time, nothing but the sound of the burning of wood was in the room as you both stood at opposite sides of the room.
“Do you remember…” Your voice started, nearly startling your husband that felt as though he could break out into a sweat in any second. “When we started dating, you used to write me letters.” You spoke softly and yet Izuku could hear every word. He noticed then that there was burnt papers in the fire place and papers in your hand still. Pages of handwritten letters, of ink and passionate love sat in your hands. “Pages upon pages of images of your thoughts and emotions of me. Each one different than the other. Nothing was the same and yet they all carried the same undeniable feeling of you… Midoriya Izuku, the man I fell in love with.” You spoke with such delicacy, almost as if that feeling of receiving them was fresh inside you. “And yet,” Your grip on the papers grew hard. “Not even more than half a year after our fourth son’s death…” You tossed the papers into the fire, not even looking back at them as they crumbled and charred under the heat.
This was the first time Izuku saw you since coming back and the image of your face is something he would have scarred into him for the rest of his life. Tears flowed from your eyes, and yet the only look he could see on you was pure anger and disgust. You looked absolutely broken and Izuku knew in that moment that you knew.
“You cheated on me.” You whispered with such anger it almost felt like that was a slap in his face entirely. “Why?”
It was a simple question, and one that Izuku didn’t have the answer to. Izuku was shaking. He was as pale as snow and fear brimmed in his eyes for the first time in a long time and yet you didn’t care. He closed his eyes and breathed. “You know how hard it’s been for me these last few months. All the headlines and everyone saying that I wasn’t fast enough to save him. I… I’ve been swallowed up with guilt and grief.”
“You don’t think we all have?” You asked coldly, making him stiffen. You stepped forward with a scowl on your face. “I stay here and take care of our home, of our boys. Our boys who have the same face as their brother and I have to fight the urge to cry at every waking moment because I see him in their faces!” You shouted pointing at the door. “I’ve been grieving!” Your hand went to your chest, painfully so but you didn’t care how hard you squeezed. It didn’t compare to the agony in your heart that only reignited. “We’ve all been grieving! I’ve been begging you to talk to me! Telling you not to listen to the headlines and talk to me! To talk in therapy! You have no excuse!”
“I was weak!” He shouted back at you, angrier at himself than he could ever be at you. “Like always! Ochaco was there just as a friend and then it felt so easy just to talk to her and unburden with her and then…” He couldn’t say it. It felt too real if he said it. It was all just a dream to him. A fantasy he could indulge in for a few hours out of the agony. It meant nothing to him, not like how you mean the world to him.
You shrugged. “And then what? You tripped and fell into her cunt? What, Izuku!”
“I don’t know!” He shouted back at you. It was silent for another moment. “How did you find out?”
“Does it matter?”
“I guess it doesn’t.” He closed his eyes as he swallowed down the heavy pill.
This was it.
This was the end.
He had ruined everything all because he felt too much of a failure to face you and would have rather run to someone else than to you. His loyal and faithful wife. His loving wife. The woman that had given him everything. He felt a tear slip out of his eye as he looked down at the ground. He couldn’t look you in the eyes. Not when you knew. Not when you looked at him with the very thing he wanted to avoid in the first place.
He wiped his face. “Where are the divorce papers?” He asked in a whisper.
There was a beat of silence before a scoff came out of you. You folded your arms as you stood before him. “Divorce papers?” You asked almost as if it was funny. “Oh God, no.” Immediately, Izuku looked up at you in shock. You shook your head almost as if the very thought was unthinkable. “No. I’m not going to order a divorce. Do you know why?”
Izuku knew better than to give you a real answer. He decided to stay silent as he shook his head. The sound of your shoes on the floor was deafening as you walked forward to stand right in front of him.
You pointed to the picture on your bedside table. “Because of them.” You stated honestly. “Because of the four boys that we still have. That is the reason why I’m not getting the best divorce lawyer in this damn country. That is why I am not packing my bags and taking my children far away from you so that they can hate your actions just as much as I do.” You emphasised. “I love those boys more than I care for my own sanity and soul. I love those boys so much, I am painstakingly aware of the fact that I can never divorce you because I would never be able to take care of them without you. I love them so much that I know that they love you as if you hung the stars, Izuku!” You shouted at him, tears flowing down your face. A hiccup broke your voice but it didn’t stop you. “They love you so much and yet I know it would kill them to know what you’ve done! I refuse to let our sons hate you the same way you hate your father.”
That cold hard truth came crashing down on him like ice water. It chilled him to the very bone, and stirred his stomach making him feel sick.
Your jaw shivered with emotion, but you kept your head held high. “That is why I will not divorce you. I do not wish to inflict whatever more emotional trauma they could have after the last six months. So this is what is going to happen.” You folded your arms as you looked up at him. “Oh Izuku stop crying.”
He jolted as he hadn’t realised that there were tears flowing down his face. He moved a hand to his face, feeling the wetness of tears against his skin. He looked back at you. “Thank-”
“I don’t want to hear it, because I don’t care.” You cut him off quickly shutting him up. “I don’t care if you have every girl in the whole of Japan wrapped around your finger, but those women will never set a single foot into this house or into our children’s lives, do you understand me? If word gets out about this, you damn believe I will drain you dry Izuku. I will make sure that there is nothing left of your legacy that you have cultivated.” You hissed with pure intent in every word you said.
Izuku nodded his head pathetically scared of you (rightfully so). “Y/N, I promise you, I’ll never do it again! I’ll go to therapy again! We can go together. I promise I’ll change and-”
“I don’t care because you will never touch me sexually again.” You told him flat out. “We will act, we will pose, we will sing if we damn have to, to make our boys and the rest of Japan believe that we are somewhat of a functioning team at least until they are all out of the house. But Izuku know this…” You stepped forward as you looked up at him.
This was the man you had fallen in love with. A man who held your heart in the palm of his hand so easily that it was probably foolish of you to have loved him as much as you did. You loved Midoriya Izuku. You loved his smile, his muttering, his large scarred hands that held a world full of problems but still held you tenderly, you loved his laugh, you loved his heart. You loved the man standing in front of you.
“I love you.” You let out brokenly, taking the both of you by surprise. You nodded your head with a smile, a smile so broken it looked wrong on your face. “I love you, and you are the father of my children and my partner, but you will never again be my husband.”
Izuku didn’t move, he didn’t speak, he didn’t breathe. He was stuck there like a statue but you still continued.
“Now…” You brushed down your front. “I have to go give Toshinori his acceptance letter to UA. I advise you clean yourself up first before you go anywhere near my son.” You moved to walk right past him, your shoes deafening as you walked out the room closing the door behind him.
Izuku was motionless still, even without you in the room.
This was a worser fate than a divorce. Being trapped with the love of his life and never feeling her love back in return. Being married but never being your husband ever again.
“Morning mom!”
“Morning mom!”
A kiss went to your cheek as you were finishing up breakfast. Toshinori smiled at you as he placed his hands on your shoulders. “Good morning, mom.”
You let out a chuckle, trying to fill in the void and hollow feeling inside you. You grabbed your eldest son, bringing him into a hug as he laughed. “There’s my hero!” he grabbed a hold of you, picking you up off your feet making you shout in surprise. You had forgotten that with One for All he had also inherited his father’s strength. “Toshinori!” You shouted out in surprise. “Put me down!”
He laughed and held you tight, but put you back on your feet. You couldn’t help but giggle as he moved to switch off the stove and grab plates out of the cabinet. The heavy footsteps of your husband were heard as he descended from upstairs. You didn’t bother to look up at him.
Izuku looked a bit less like the mess you left him in last night. You had told him that for the night he wasn’t allowed in your bedroom, and he would stay in the office he cared about more than you in the last six months. He wore sweatpants as he kept one hand in his pockets and came down.
Asahi looked up from where he was setting the table. “Morning dad!”
“Morning buddy.” Izuku forced a smile to his face as he walked over to the table. He pulled Asahi in for a hug making his eyes go wide in surprise. The other boys looked at their father confused but didn’t say anything. “How did you sleep?”
“…fine.” He answered, glancing at you. You shrugged, acting to be oblivious. He did the same thing with Hero as well, before coming over to do the same with Toshinori.
Toshinori looked up at his father in surprise. “Morning dad… is your shift later in the day?” He asked as he noticed his father’s rather casual attire. He normally would just sleep in or rest more and let the four of you have breakfast by yourselves.
Izuku hesitated but shook his head as he moved over to grab an extra plate, noticing that the number of plates Toshinori had gotten was just for the four of you excluding him. “No.” He answered rather blankly. Izuku took his plate as well as the other plates that Toshinori was holding and went to go put them on the table. Asahi noticed the extra plate and went to go and grab more cutlery.
Breakfast was finished and so you all moved to the table. You kept notice of the time, wondering if you should wake up Koda or not. You sat next to Izuku on his right side like before, as he sat at the head of the table. Toshinori sat beside you, not wanting to sit on the other side of his father today. Your three eldest boys sat quietly, not touching their plates either as they looked between you and their father. You looked to Izuku and for a moment your husband froze.
That was the look you always gave him whenever you all used to sit at the table together. You would sit together and you would let him lead. Izuku felt horrible knowing that you were perfect. You always used to make it so important that the boys learnt from him in being a good male figure, no matter what. And yet as you looked at him now, all he saw was emptiness in your eyes. Rightfully so.
He cleared his throat and smiled. He put his hands together. “Thank you for the food.” The boys quickly followed afterwards before you all started eating. You sat posed and composed as if last night wasn’t one of the worst nights of your life. Izuku looked up at the three boys. “Actually boys…” He started.
The three of them looked up, heads of green hair perking up as they looked to their large Prohero father who sat at the head of the table. You were quiet as you let him say whatever piece he wanted to say. Whether he wanted to tell the boys or not, you wouldn’t intervene.
“I owe an apology to all of you.” He started. Toshinori’s eyebrows raised in surprise. He glanced at you with an emotionless expression but then looked back at his father. “To you and…” He motioned to the three of them before moving to look at you. You put your hand down silently allowing whatever he was doing. He put his hand over yours, squeezing it and yet you didn’t squeeze back. “And to your mother. The last six months have been…” He paused. A heavy pause that everyone felt. “Difficult for all of us and I haven’t been around as much as I should have. I’m sorry about that. And so… I’ve decided that I am taking some time off.”
All the boys whipped their heads to look at you as if asking you if it was true. You shrugged. You didn’t know either where this decision had come from, but you were glad that it seemed like he was making true to whatever dribble he had tried to sprout out last night to you.
Toshinori hesitated but looked back at his father with an optimistic look on his face. “That’s… That’s great dad.” He smiled. He looked to his brothers.
Hero and Asahi seemed more excited than you had seen them in a while. Hero nodded his head. “Yah! And just in time for break too! Maybe we can go on a road trip!” He spoke out an idea.
Izuku laughed but nodded. “I was thinking more of a vacation but whatever you boys want.”
“Oh!” Asahi perked up. “What about Australia?”
Toshinori shook his head. “Nah.” He took a bite of his toast. “Mom hates the giant spiders.”
“How about Greece?!” Hero suggested. “Mom was watching Mamma Mia two weeks ago! That place looked so cool and blue!”
You watched the boys bicker about a family vacation which brought a smile to your face. You were glad to see they were some semblances of happy for the first time in a long time.
Your eyes flicked down to where Izuku had his hand over yours still. You gripped his hand immediately taking his attention. You smiled at him as you leaned forward closer to his ear. “Good job, honey.” You said, enough that if the boys looked it would have been innocent, but Izuku knew what that was. He didn’t need it spelt out to him.
You placed a kiss to his lips, brief and to the point, making the boys gag. “Ew!”
“Mom! Please not at the table!” Asahi let out in deep exasperation.
Izuku was still for a moment, tears burning at his eyes. Your kiss was fake. Your praise was fake. Everything was a show, a play for the boys to be happy. You were still disappointed in him. You would always be disappointed in him.
He let out a shaky breath and smiled. “Hey! Leave my wife alone.” He said jokingly.
No matter what, he’d carry for the rest of his life, the fact that he had disappointed you.

Is it because he would be so focus on his career and loses touch about his wife. He doesn’t know what he had until he lose it (divorce) related to your post about Izuku being terrible husband
Good job, Anon! A little star sticker for you and some headcanons for doing your homework!
CONTENT WARNING: EMOTIONAL NEGLIGENCE, DIVORCE/FAILING MARRIAGE
Out of all the pro-heroes from 1A's genwrarion, Izuku is by far the worst partner to choose because he is the most career-focused out of the group. "But Viburnt, what about Kacchan? What about Iida? What about-" I'll get there, let me explain.
We all know that, since he was a kid, Izuku's dream was to become exactly like All Might: a hero who could bring hope and safety to those who needed it. Compared to others, however, he didn't have it easy; he was born quirkless. The people around him tried to bring him down, he struggled with his new powers once he got them, and to make it all worse, he had to deal with the responsibilities of being All Might's successor.
Izuku sacrificed a lot (perhaps too much) to become pro-hero Deku, forgetting that sometimes life is more than his job. So when he marries you, his brain sort of assumes he can take you for granted because "you understand how important his duties are". Because, why wouldn't you understand that he had to save lives?
The first few years of marriage are like a fairytale, gotta give him that; he showers you in gifts and attention, buys you expensive jewelry, and takes you to his galas. You're Mrs. Midoriya, but you soon face the harsh reality of being tied to the number one hero of Japan. You soon understand that being Mrs. Midoriya implied more than a wedding ring.
The stress of being constantly under the scrutinous eye of the media takes a toll on the dynamic of your marriage. Mistakes can't happen, scandals or situations that can be taken out of context are strictly forbidden. You are trapped in a golden cage, and you can't complain because your husband is so good to you! What kind of person would dare to say a thing about the man that gives them all kind of luxury?
Izuku spends a lot of time patrolling or on missions to take care of you, often coming home late or forgetting important dates or promises. He tries to make up for his lack of attention by buying you even more stuff, but that doesn't quite sustain a marriage, you know?
Needless to say, if you want to form a family, you'll have to do it on your own. He is barely at home, and when he is he's just so worn out by the routine he straight up falls asleep. Supposing intimacy does happen and he gets you knocked up, you'd pretty much raise that baby by yourself.
And now, back to the first point. Why is Izuku the worst if there are other characters that are as career focused as him? The answer is fairly easy: environment. If you take a look at Bakugo (to exemplify), he was born and raised with both parents. He was taught how to do chores, how to be self sufficient and independent, and how to be responsible. Bakugo has his own flaws like being unable to communicate his feelings properly and being too stubborn for his own good (which can also make him a terrible husband if unresolved) but he doesn't have a trauma as big as Izuku's. He never had to fill someone else's shoes. Bakugo (in his own odd and stubborn way) grows out of that unreasonable competition with Izuku, and accepts he is a worthy hero.
Izuku doesn't change in that way whatsoever, he becomes worse. Even if he has a supportive environment, he still feels the need to throw his life under the bus for the sake of everyone else's safety. He may seem independent on the outside but he is not, he depends on Deku. Izuku needs Deku to feel useful, and Deku needs Izuku to keep going. Does that make sense?
Divorcing him is also a nightmare by the way, but I'll talk about it in another set of headcanons if you want <3
"Izuku, can we talk for a second?" You begged, trying to catch your husband's attention as he took his hero costume off. "Not now, sweetheart, I'm exhausted. Maybe in the morning." He mumbled, yawning with tired movements; he made his way to bed, crashing on the mattress and zoning out of reality the same way he'd done many nights before. A heavy weight crushed your chest, holding back the tears. "OK, sorry..."

The room was silent. So quiet it reminded Izuku of when they evacuate parts of a city and he hated it. He turned and looked at Y/N, hoping he would turn around but Izuku knew the argument was over. The argument was long over but the quiet after the war had just started, both of them were sitting on opposite ends of the bed, facing away from each other. At least that's what Izuku had thought, more than ready to leave it where it was so they pick it up later but then Y/N sighed exhaustedly. "I'm tired, Izuku." Y/N sighs again as Izuku turns halfway to look at him but Y/N continued to stare at the wall, hands grasping onto the edge of the bed. "I don't wanna do this." "Do what?" Izuku questioned. "I don't wanna fight anymore, I don't wanna stay up waiting for you to come home all hours of the night in bits and pieces or cry my heart out when you land yourself in the hospital again. I don't wanna do this, anymore." Izuku tensed, wondering if Y/N meant it the way it sounded.
"I can cut back-" Izuku offered but Y/N shook their head. "I told you I would never make you choose between me and being a hero, Izuku and I meant it. I told you that it would never get to that point because I promised myself that I'd leave before it got there but I let myself think that it would get better because I thought that someone would finally choose me. I thought that it was just the debut and then things would slow a little but I know how much this means to you and I still hoped anyways-" Y/N's voice was wet and cracking with tears and Izuku had to force himself not to reach out. "I wanted you to choose me, without me asking. I wanted you to choose me because you wanted to but it was never a choice and it was unfair to both of us for me to even think of it like that. The people need you," Izuku shook his head but Y/N didn't stop because they weren't looking. "I love you, Izuku. I love you so much it hurts and I know you love me, you just love the world a little more, and that's okay." Y/N says, turning around with a sad smile and Izuku bites back a sob, tears streaking down his cheeks. Y/N stands, walking over to him and reaching to cup Izuku's cheek in their hand.
Y/N smiles as best they can and Izuku can see how pained they are and he hates himself. "Y/N," Y/N stops him, shaking their head. "I know we've come a long way. We fought like hell to get where we are but it's okay." They said and Izuku shook his head, placing his hand over Y/N's to keep it there. "It's not okay." He sniffles and Y/N lifts their other hand to hold Izuku's face in their hands. "It is. I know how much this means to you. You worked so hard to get here and now you are. You have so much love to give and it was selfish to think of asking for more when you've given me more than enough, so give it to them." Izuku reached for Y/N but he pulled away. "Y/N, can we talk about this? Please!" Izuku begged but Y/N didn't listen, stepping away to start pulling their clothes from the closet, the photo of them on the dresser beside the closet mocked Izuku and he choked on his tears.
"Please," but Izuku wasn't sure who or what he was asking. "We can't keep doing this Izuku and you know it." Izuku shook his head but knew it was true. He hasn't been the best boyfriend. He was always late, canceling plans or having to leave because he was on call. He was always coming home hurt or landing himself in the hospital. He couldn't enjoy his days off with Y/N because he slept through them. There was just never enough time- words from the past came forward to haunt him. Heroes can only harm their loved ones. Izuku knew that probably wasn't the direct quote but knew it was close enough and got did it hurt because it was fucking true. "I'm sorry." He cries, head hanging as Y/N cries silently because they know he is. "I know, Izuku. I'm sorry too."
