Jan 13 - Fixed my computer chair! Replaced the chair lift cylinder; took me a bit longer than expected, but wasn't too bad of a task. It's now both a higher class cylinder (to bear more weight without problem) and a higher seat (because I specifically looked for one that'd give me a few more inches of chair height).

Made mild Italian sausages, mashed potatoes with rosemary and fried onion, and steamed mixed veg for supper.

Jan 14 - Did a little sorting and putting away of stuff.

Made pasta with meat sauce for supper.

Jan 15 - Defrosted the freezer. Nice to once again have a recent idea of just what-all meats are buried in it, and to have them mostly sorted by kind to general locations within the chest freezer.

Just me for supper, so I had chicken fingers and french fries.

10. SPANUNKO!

Another sports game in the model of Fireball Soccer-- like the previous game, it's a very stripped-down kind of baseball game, more of a home run derby. You just time your swing and aim for the bleachers!

On her second swing, it goes into the bleachers, and there's a cute animation of a child holding up the ball as his prize!

Strangely, though, the game doesn't start again after that: instead it slowly pans over to center on someone else in the crowd, someone with a huge gray and white face, who stares right at the camera with a death grimace for a few moments.

Then it's back to the game!

Jan 13 - Baked a loaf of onion rye, which is a basic rye bread recipe with 1/4 cup dried onion added in.

Also tried making a second pan of Christmas Crack, because it had been so good (tasted like a Skor bar, mostly) but this pan didn’t work out as well. I didn’t cook the toffee as long, and it ended up at more of a hard ball stage than soft/hard crack. Which meant breaking the pan of it apart had variable results - some parts cracked into pieces nicely, some parts were softer, and bent and tore, with lots of delamination of the layers. Still tasty but not at all Skor bar flavoured - think the flavour of the previous batch was due to slightly overcooking the toffee so it was just starting to ride the line between caramelized and scorched (and was very definitely at the hard crack stage). Especially annoying since this time I’d made a full pan instead of a half recipe, so I’ve ended up with a large bowl of mostly substandard crack, with lots of loose flakes of chocolate and cracker crumbs.

Thinking I’ll sort most of it into sandwich bags and then throw them into a freezer bag in the freezer, so I can just take out small amounts at long intervals.
