R.I.P. Pat Hitchcock, Strangers On A Train actor and daughter of director
Patricia Hitchcock in Strangers On A TrainScreenshot: Strangers On A Train Pat Hitchcock, actor and only child of famed director Alfred Hitchcock, has died at the age of 93. Variety reports that Hitchcock’s daughter Katie O’Connell-Fiala confirmed that her mother died Monday in Thousand Oaks, California. Perhaps unsurprisingly for someone who grew up surrounded by the film industry, Hitchcock…

here is a list of some of my fave horror films (thank you to the multiple people who asked me about recs)!! the definition of horror is very subjective; it’s a very personal genre, and examining exactly what about the films you’re watching you find scary (and why) is key to understanding how a film works
although this list is not entirely comprehensive these are some of my faves (some of which people debate about whether they’re horror or thriller or sci-fi whatever); despite other generic readings, to me they are firmly rooted in horror technique and aesthetic and are ones that i recommend checking out!!

My Most Anticipated Films of 2020!
Before I start to reflect on the past year with My Best of 2019 (most of which will be arriving later this month, but TV will be coming later this week, and Posters, Non-2019 Films and possibly my Assorted post should be up throughout next week) and decade with My Best of the Decade: 2010s… Let’s look into the future at the films I’m most excited for in 2020.
First, though, a note: I’ve bumped it up to 25 films instead of 20, this year, even though there’s a solid chance some of the TBA picks may be bumped to 2021. I’m optimistic. Anyway, here they are...
My Most Anticipated Films of 2020! (In Chronological Order)
1. The Lodge (Severin Fiala & Veronika Franz) - February 7
Tumblr media
I’ve been hearing very, very promising things about this one since it’s world premiere almost a year ago. I’m normally not one to get too excited for horror films, but this is one of three in 2020 that have really grabbed my attention.
2. Emma (Autumn de Wilde) - February 21
Tumblr media
I’m either a big enough Anya Taylor-Joy fan for her to be enough, or I’m a closet Jane Austen fanboy. Or, it stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Bill Nighy. If that’s not enough to get excited about, then I’m going about all of this wrong.
3. A Quiet Place Part II (John Krasinski) - March 20
Tumblr media
I enjoyed the first one quite a bit.
4. No Time to Die (Cary Joji Fukunaga) - April 10
Tumblr media
Uhh... Bond. James Bond. Uhhh... de Armas. Ana de Armas. Uhhhh... Cary Joji Fukunaga - director of that truly staggering first season of True Detective - directing a James Bond film co-starring Ana de Armas.
5. Antlers (Scott Cooper) - April 17
Tumblr media
Cooper hasn’t directed a film yet that I haven’t either really liked or loved. Plus the short story upon which this is based is damn good. Damn good.
6. Black Widow (Cate Shortland) - May 1
Tumblr media
ScarJo finally getting her own Black Widow film is enough... But then they went and cast Florence Pugh!!
7. Greyhound (Aaron Schneider) - May 8
Tumblr media
A WWII film written and starring Tom Hanks. Need I say more?
8. Wonder Woman 1984 (Patty Jenkins) - June 5
Tumblr media
The first one was really good. Gal is a goddess. I like fun.
9. Soul (Pete Docter) - June 19
Tumblr media
Now this is what a Pixar film looks like (Sorry, I’m unimpressed by/very much not excited for Onward.)
10. Tenet (Christopher Nolan) - July 17
Tumblr media
I don’t see me ever not being wicked excited about new Nolan. Plus the trailer looks great!
11. Last Night in Soho (Edgar Wright)
Tumblr media
They had me at Edgar Wright. Then they really had me at Anya Taylor-Joy. Then they really had me at Dianna Rigg and Thomasin McKenzie.
12. BIOS (Miguel Sapochnik) - October 12
Tumblr media
I love Sci-Fi. I love Tom Hanks. Plus, it’s exciting to see what my favorite GoT director has up his sleeves for this one.
13. Eternals (Chloé Zhao) - November 6
Tumblr media
Hello. I’m Timothy Patrick Boyer, and I’m a geek.
14. West Side Story (Steven Spielberg) - December 18
Tumblr media
One of those timeless musicals that really didn’t need a remake. But it’s Spielberg, and I trust him more than I do my personal opinion about remakes and the like.
15.Dune (Denis Villeneuve) - December 18
Tumblr media
The man not only brought us Arrival, but also Sicario... and Blade Runner 2049... and Prisoners. Whatever he’s working on will be on these lists until further notice.
Please Keep Reading to See What Else Made the List!!
16. The Last Duel (Ridley Scott) - December 25
Tumblr media
I either love Scott’s films, or I’m completely apathetic toward them. With a cast featuring Adam Driver, Matt Damon, Jodie Comer & Ben Affleck, and a screenplay by Damon & Affleck, I really can’t see this falling into the latter category.
17. News of the World (Paul Greengrass) - 12.25
Tumblr media
I’m a little hesitant because of the screenwriter, but it’s a western starring Tom Hanks and directed by Paul Greengrass. My niece could’ve written this and I’d still be here on day one.
18. The French Dispatch (Wes Anderson) - TBA
Tumblr media
Wes. Anderson.
19. Nightmare Alley (Guillermo Del Toro) - TBA
Tumblr media
He’s coming off a Best Picture win with a remake of a noir. ‘Nuff said.
20. Mank (David Fincher) - TBA
Tumblr media
David Fucking Fincher. (This and the remainder of the list are ones I’m a little worried might not make it for 2020, but I’m sticking with them, anyway, because like I said, optimist.)
21. Blonde (Andrew Dominik) - TBA
Tumblr media
Ana de Armas as a version of Marilyn Monroe. ::head explodes::
22. On the Rocks (Sofia Coppola) - TBA
Tumblr media
Sofia Coppola and Bill Murray are back together.
23. Annette (Leos Carax) - TBA
Tumblr media
A Film All in Songs by Leos Carax. The dude who damn near killed me with Holy Motors is back with a musical starring Adam Driver and Marion Cotillard.
24. I’m Thinking of Ending Things (Charlie Kaufman) - TBA
Tumblr media
I’m still not over Synecdoche, New York.
25. Green Knight (David Lowery) - TBA
Tumblr media
A fantasy re-telling of the medievel story of Sir Gawain and the Green Knight with the visual story-telling of A Ghost Story and the heart and wonder of Pete’s Dragon is exactly what we need right now.
The Wes Anderson, Nolan, Wright, Fincher, Villeneuve, Del Toro and Bond films are probably my most anticipated. Also, I almost included PTA’s new film, but I really don’t think it’ll be ready by the year’s end, so I’m banking on that being a 2021 film. If it does make it, then that, too, would be very high on my list. 2019 was kind of a powerhouse year for cinema. And it’s looking like we’re breaking into the new decade strong in 2020!
Happy New Year!!
-Timothy Patrick Boyer.

Onde: Amazon Prime Video

Ecos do Além
Onde: Amazon Prime Video
Stir of Echoes, 1999Fox/Divulgação
O Exorcismo de Emily Rose
Onde: Netflix

A Autópsia
Onde: Amazon Prime Video

#Giveaway ~ #AuthorsWithHeart Tote Bag #Reader Giveaway... #books #ContemporaryRomance #HistoricalRomance #MedicalRomance #amreading #BookBlogger
It's that time of year again! If you're a visitor to my Facebook page over the past two months, you've probably seen my posts about the Fisher House Mother's Day tote bags I organize each spring. Fisher House provides military families with a place to stay while a loved one is receiving medical treatment plus offer many other wonderful programs.
These Mother Day goodie bags started as a solo endeavor five years ago when I answered a request from care package group I belonged to. The second year authors and friends helped me by sponsoring thermal totes and donating books/swag. In 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and this year, authors and a publisher did all the sponsoring and donating. I'm so touched by their generosity and call them #authorswithheart.
Earlier this month, prior to Mother's Day, forty-six Thirty-One Gifts thermal tote bags were filled and hand-delivered to the three Fisher Houses located in Western Washington (my hubby drove north to make two of the deliveries for me and accompanied me to the third.) Each tote bag included romance novels, a goodie bag filled with author swag (a variety of items from bookmarks, pens, measuring spoon, luggage tag, lip gloss, recipe cards, and so much more!), a goodie bag filled with pampering items (mini shower gel or hand lotion set, shower puffy, tissue, head band, footie socks, mini note pad), a goodie bag of candy, and a small stuffed animal! Many contained an extra something that authors donated such as toiletries, planners, puzzle books, mini-journals, etc.
2019 Authors with Heart
Special thanks to the authors who participated by sponsoring totes and/or donating books and/or donating swag. Some did all three. We also had some sponsor additional tote bags. They are noted below.
Audrey Wick Linda Goodnight Barbara Ankrum Mary Jo Putney C.J. Carmichael Megan Ryder Charlene Sands Melanie D. Snitker Christine Rimmer Melissa McClone Dani Collins Melissa Storm Deborah Blake Michelle Beattie Denise Stout Nan Reinhardt Elizabeth Boyle Nancy Holland Erika Marks Nancy Robards Thompson Eve Gaddy Patty Blount Jamie K. Gordon Roxanne Snopek Jeannie Moon Scarlet Wilson Jennifer Faye Sierra Donovan Jennifer Shirk Stacey Joy Netzel Joanne Rock Terri Brisbin Lara Van Hulzen Terri Reed Lenora Worth Tracy Solheim Tule Publishing (5 bags)
I'll be featuring books from these Authors With Heart's books here on the blog between now and April 2020. There will also be a gift card up for grabs on each post, so I hope you'll check out each one.
2019 Friends of the Authors with Heart This year, three individuals messaged my Facebook page to ask if they could donate. Author Stacy Connelly sent a large box of books. Christina Applegate with courtingfiction.com sent pens and mechanical pencils. Kimberly Field with Blossoms, Butterflies, and Bling sent Breast Exam cards. A big thank you for their help. Tote Bag Reader Giveaway! Now it's your turn to win a tote bag ! This year we are giving away four Thirty-One Gifts Thermal Totes and four Terri Brisbin thermal totes.
