@hungry-skeleton once said that Jax was autistic and like thinking back on how he acts, yeah.
And I think, while played up for laughs, his anger issues in Season 16 are an extension of that. I think back towards this sequence
I don't think this is him being mad with power, I think he's been mentally fucked by rushing into the Hollywood industrial complex too fast for his little brain to understand what is and isn't reasonable.
Think about it, he's been looking up to greats like Kubrick. People who were AWFUL. Not just morally but like...to their ACTORS and CREW. He thinks this treatment is normal. If he started indie he wouldn't have the budgets to even consider this stupid extravagant bullshit, and he would've learned what a normal/good workplace environment on set is.
And then look how he responds when he sees Carolina & Wash, he's brought back to a happy mood, one where he doesn't think about studio mandates or budget cuts or accidents on set. He wanted to make blockbusters so bad he decided to jump head first into the biggest project of his fucking life and it ruined him.
probably unpopular opinion, but i love jax. he went from baby to capitalist bastard and it was hilarious, and the movie subplot was my fave part of season 16, so yeah. love him.
(also, my facecanon for him will always be ‘young gavin free looking lad’ lmao).
It's so funny to me that my 2 Vampire: The Masquerade characters are so radically different.
First one is Paul Micheals, he's a reserved and contemplative Gangrel, he doesn't understand vampire society too much nor does he want to because he's a Christian. He wants out of the world of darkness, he wants to go back to his human life.
Before being turned he was a priest at his church but when he was turned he could no longer step inside the grounds even without his skin twisting in knots and having to leave. He still wears a cross around his neck, though it burns to touch.
Before where he felt fulfillment and purpose after praying he feels nothing now, like the light he had spoken to before and gone.
As a Gangrel he has animalistic features, but his are that of a Dove. It's almost insulting. Forced to not only exist as an outsider of his faith, but to become a mockery of the servants of God.
Paul is by far my most angsty character in anything I've ever written.
Then the other is Jax Jonez (Named after the RvB character), Professional Ghost Puncher. Jax is a jackass hunter (I KNOW Hunter is a different game, shut up, more people know Vampire) who has a cool reality ghost/cryptid hunting show where the whole idea is that he punches the ghosts and cryptids and whatever else monsters BACK TO THE PIT(s) THEY CAME FROM.
I know it isn't that weird considering other WoD stuff but like, I got to actually play these 2 idiots. Paul and Jax are like the absolute fucking pendulum of seriousness I can have. It's SO funny to me that they both exist in the same world.
