Moscow!Teazer wants to be magic

So, it's Teazer's day for Jellicle Ships month! In honor of our favorite crime-committing calico queen, I thought I'd make a little gifset/post about one of my favorite background moments from the Moscow production: Teazer's fascination with Misto during his song and her trying to be a magical cat. (Sorry in advance for the terrible resolution on some of the gifs, I had to get a few of them from the wide-shot Moscow boot and I didn't want them to be unreasonably small. Some of them also don't loop for whatever reason, so if it's frozen, opening the image in its own tab should make it play again.)

Teazer is clearly a big fan of Misto's, and the two interact multiple times throughout the dance break. First, he freezes her/she faints:

She takes a moment to fangirl. (Me too, Teazer.)

When he stops next to her for the last time, she takes a moment to get up close and personal.

Another angle again. I think she backs up here because he was a little too far forward coming into the roll.

During the trick, she's mostly out of shot, but afterwards, she and Jerrie get handed Misto's red blanket to get offstage. This is where the magic happens, so to speak. In one show, you can see her wearing the fabric like a cape, just like Misto does earlier in the number.

In the wide-shot version, she does something different, pulling the blanket over herself. Jerrie assists by waving Misto's hand over her.

Ta-da! Wait, she's still Teazer? This must be Jerrie's fault.

Jerrie assists again to help Teazer pull off an arabesque. Unfortunately, Misto is too busy dancing to notice.

This one is better experienced with sound, but Jerrie raises Teazer's hand as Tugger says "magical."

There's so many moments I absolutely love from this song between them, so I hope this post inspired you to go check it out for yourself! Victoria Kanatkina is so great at physical comedy and I love her Teazer so so much!

(Also, if anyone knows how to make GIFs that actually loop and have more than 20 pixels, it would be so nice to have some of these in higher resolution! Especially the one of Jerrie pulling the fabric off of her, that's such a cute little image.)

Anyway, Munkcavity are exes who are still very much into each other but are Not dealing with it well and the whole thing is lowkey toxic af and i love it because i love Drama <3

below are ships !!!! this is kinduva lifetime of skimble and his relationships !

in the way i interpret cats it does seem that there was a typical stigma in the older cats’ days surrounding sexuality and such. skimble was most definitely less caring of others people’s opinions, yet still he sighed and agreed that if he must be married and it must cis relationship, then he would marry his best friend jennyanydots. their relationship was more or less a qpf, socially married and their comfortability with each other made it very believable.

and, yes ! they did have kits. namely, mungojerrie and rumpleteazer, however skimble and jennyany weren’t the most attentive parents. skimble preferred to be exploring or simple at the train station, therefore often gone, and jennany was too bombastic to not want to take impromptu random trips. that means mungo n teazer were often left alone, which is how they ended up involved with macavity. this is also why jennyany is far more strict and why skimble is so attentive to the kits, more or less outtuv regret - even if mungo n teazer don’t think about it as often.

however. there is always the Secret True Love™️, and that would be asparagus jr, who found himself on skimble’s train one day and stole his heart completely. they have been together romantically for quite some time but it only very recently they can be open about this. throughout the entire 1998 film the two can be seen constantly besides one another. skimble always comes back to him, and without a doubt, he is the love of his life. he even helped raise a few kits !!!

you may also notice asparagus jr is often with tumblebrutus ... asparagus got married to jellylorum for the same reasons skimble got with jenny. and they had quite some kits ! namely plato, amadeus, tumblebrutus, and carbucketty (the youngest.) though skimble only has had influence on pouncival and plato, (hence pounce’s desire to do things well in his imitating other cats end his sporadic everything. and plato seeking to have adopted skimble’s flirtatious cadence, so plato isn’t afraid to simp for tugger and also woo victoria later.
