Guadalupe 'Lua' Alvarez Villanueva is a homicide detective who for years worked in Los Angeles as a member of the LAPD. She moved to Las Vegas to help her older brother raise his two nieces after he lost his wife. In order to pay for college in the past, Guadalupe worked as an actress in low-budget films, with the most notable role being the dancer 'Jezebel'. In this role, she danced half naked with a snake around her neck, in addition to having many sensual scenes. Even without being ashamed of her cinematographic past, this did not prevent her from having a bad reputation within the service. One of his colleagues had found out about the film and used it to diminish his potential as a detective. Which forced her to create armor against most of the men she works with and the bad cop image. Upon joining the LVPD she was afraid he would judge them for their past before seeing their true potential. But she discovers that her boss, Catherine Willows, had a similar past, making her more relaxed with the new team. It is also in her new job that she meets two women who would become her best friends, Phellipa Greer and Jacinta Casanova. The trio of two CSIs and a lab technician is dubbed the 'Unholy Trinity' by the others, as they are rarely seen apart. His specialty is ballistics, being able to discover the gun used in the crime just by the entrance and exit hole of the body. She has a horrible relationship with David Hodges, detesting the lab technician since they lived in Los Angeles. No one is quite sure how this feud started, but everyone knows that it is far from over.

Nominees for the 2018 Eisner Awards announced

Comic-Con International has announced the nominees for the 2018 Eisner Awards, presented annually in San Diego at the convention.

Monstress by Marjorie Liu and Sana Takeda and My Favorite Thing Is Monsters by Emil Ferris each received five nominations across various categories; other comics with multiple nominations included Mister Miracle, Black Hammer, The Flintstones, Grass Kings, Eartha and Hawkeye.

I’ve kind of decided that 2018 will be the year of “Random AUs” for Soundwaves art. Kicking it off, here’s a Grease inspired AU, which is totally the most original idea ever. Seriously. Totally original. Never done before. Nope.

In all seriousness, I’ve been wanting to do something like this for a little while, so the fact that @pennwrenn / @wrennpenn was willing to do it is just super rad. Expect more Grease AU shit, because I’m a total slut for retro aesthetics. Expect more from Jill in the realm of random AUs... and probably more of this one, because the pinup potential is on point. Thanks again Jill, for providing such amazing artwork!

My good buddy @russet-red let me commission some OC trash that is hella badass. I might have posted the one with Olivia and Abigail already, but I’ve since had Delilah and Jezebel made to go with it, which were then added to this~ I feel like they’re off the page of a comic book it’s so cool.
